You probably never heard of Sunday Jackson. But Christiansaround the world need to learn about him, as he faces grave injustice in Nigeria. The Christian farmer was set upon by an armed Fulani Islamist, just like thousands of Christians who lost their lives at the hands of armed Fulani. But Sunday defended himself and prevailed over his attacker, who would later succumb to his injuries. For the crime of defending himself, Sunday Jackson hasreceived a capital sentence and is set to be hanged. Injustice is too soft a word for this legal monstrosity. In essence, Nigerian Christians are not allowed to defend themselves. Meanwhile, Islamists who are captured on video celebratingactual crimes are granted their freedom. Joining us to understand the two tier legal system in Nigeria is Zariyi Yusuf. He will help you understand what happened with Sunday Jackson and other Nigerian Christians suffering under an unjust legal system. Please join us in praying for Sunday Jackson and agitating to see him freed. Alsocontact your own country's leaders to intercede on Sunday's behalf. God willing, we will see Sunday Jackson freed. It's Tuesday, March 18th, A.D. 2025. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson Nigerian Court upholds death sentence of Christian The Nigerian Supreme Court has upheld the death sentence for a man who attempted to defend himself when attacked by the radical Muslim sect known as the Fulani.  Truth Nigeria has reported that a Christian farmer named Sunday Jackson had been sentenced to death by a Muslim judge three years ago. As the Christian was attacked and repeatedly stabbed by a knife-wielding Fulani, Jackson wrested the weapon from him, and stabbed that attacker with the Muslim's own knife. Human rights activist and pastor Dr. William Terence Devlin, who has been advocating for Jackson internationally, expressed his deep disappointment. He said, “This is a failure of the Nigerian justice system. By any legal or moral standard, this man is innocent.” The Open Doors World Watch List rates the country of Nigeria as the seventh most persecuting nation in the world.  Additionally, 69% of the 4,476 Christians martyred worldwide last year were from Nigeria. State Dept. might designate Nigeria “Country of Particular Concern” Millions of Nigerian Christians have been severely oppressed by the militant Islamic groups and their own government for over a decade now. As of last week, the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa held a hearing entitled  “Conflict and Persecution in Nigeria: the Case for a CPC Designation.”  Despite the kidnappings, murders, and injustices perpetuated and tolerated by the nation, the Biden administration had removed Nigeria as a “Country of Particular Concern” in 2021.  But let us remember that Psalm 34:7 says, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.” Lowest favorability rating ever for Democrats A recent CNN poll finds the favorability of the Democrat Party is at the lowest in recorded history.   The favorability rating among American adults dipped to 29% in early March, a 20% decline from January 2021. Among Democrats, 52% say their party is going in the wrong direction. The same survey found that 9% more Americans say the president is too extreme, compared to those who say the same thing of the Republican Party. That gap has diminished from 18% in 2022. Trump put 1,300 Voice of America journalists on leave More than 1,300 journalists, producers and staff at Voice of America have been notified they were placed on administrative leave on Saturday.  The VOA's parent organization, The U.S. Agency for Global Media, employs 3,500 people with a budget of a little less than $1 billion per year. That's about the size of the budget for Fox News or CNN. But somewhat less than the annual budget for The Worldview in 5 Minutes; we might add. We employ three part-timers. 42 Americans died in natural disasters At least 42 Americans died over the weekend by natural disasters brought by God's sovereign and almighty power to this country. Wildfires destroyed houses and structures in Kansas, Mississippi, Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, Missouri, and Oklahoma. An EF-3 tornado in Missouri, with winds between 136 and 165 mph, killed twelve people, and another EF-3 tornado killed three people in Arkansas. One EF-4 tornado, with winds of 166-200 mph, followed up. Also, a massive collision of 55 vehicles on I-70 in Kansas, due largely to high winds and a dust storm, resulted in eight more deaths, reports CBS News. Trump authorizes targeted bombing in Yemen President Donald Trump authorized U.S. airstrikes on Iran-based Houthi rebel targets in Yemen resulting in 53 deaths over the weekend, reports Fox News. The attacks were carried out by fighter jets from the Harry S Truman aircraft carrier, now in the northern Red Sea, as well as Air Force attack planes, and armed drones launched from bases in the region. In response to the war between Israel and Hamas, the Houthi terrorists initially said they were attacking ships connected with Israel, or heading to or from there. However, many of the vessels they've attacked have no connection with Israel. They have launched dozens of missile and drone attacks on commercial ships. Of these, 34 have resulted in reported damage to the vessels, reports the BBC. Major shipping companies have stopped using the Red Sea -- through which almost 15% of global seaborne trade usually passes -- and are using a much longer route around southern Africa instead. In a Truth Social post on March 15, President Trump wrote, "They have waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American, and other, ships, aircraft, and drones. We will use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective." Appearing on Fox News, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth didn't pull any punches. HEGSETH: “We're sitting on four years of deferred maintenance from Joe Biden, where in particular, when you talk about the Houthis, they were allowed for over 100 times to shoot at U.S. ships, to shoot at commercial shipping. Four months ago, when we sent a ship through, it was shot at 17 times. Ships haven't been able to go through for over a year without being shot at. “Freedom of navigation is basic. It's a core national interest. The minute the Houthis say, ‘We'll stop shooting at your ships. We'll stop shooting at your drones,' this campaign will end. But, until then, it will be unrelenting. “We got the reports last night. The Houthi capital felt like an earthquake, dozens and dozens of precision, heavy munitions dropping precisely on the targets that we wanted to hit. “And the message is clear to Iran as well: ‘Your support of the Houthis needs to end immediately. We will hold you accountable as the sponsor of this proxy.' This is not the Biden administration. We will come after the Houthis until they stop shooting in our ships and the Iranians better stay out of it.” The Trump administration has committed to retaliation against the Iran-backed Houthis until they stop disrupting trade in the Red Sea. Franklin Graham urges Zelenskyy to call for national day of prayer U.S. Evangelist Franklin Graham reached out to Ukrainian President  Volodymyr Zelenskyy, calling for a day of prayer for the nation.  On X, Graham wrote, “I urged him to call for a national day of prayer at this critical time. I would encourage this not only for the people of Ukraine, but also for the people of Russia and around the world—that the church of Jesus Christ stand together in prayer for peace. So many lives have been lost. President Trump is right—this war must end. We need God's help.” Ukraine has accepted the United States's proposed 30-day ceasefire. So far, Russia has not agreed to the terms. Zelensky responded on X, stating that “We value Franklin Graham's voice and rely on his support.” Psalm 67:5-7 is our prayer for the nations: “Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Then the Earth shall yield her increase; God, our own God, shall bless us. God shall bless us. And all the ends of the Earth shall fear Him.” Tesla's value dropped 50% In business news, Tesla has lost half its value since the first of the year. Nasdaq down, Gold and Bitcoin up The Nasdaq Composite index has slipped to about where it was last June. Gold is up to $3,000 per ounce. That's a 36% increase over a year ago. And Bitcoin is up 22% over a year ago, at $84,000 per Bitcoin. Christian college women's basketball team victorious in truth and game And finally, a Christian college women's basketball team has won the Canadian league championship despite their opposition to transgenderism in sports.   Columbia Bible College of Abbotsford, British Columbia had forfeited games, endured harsh criticism, and received sanctions for refusing to countenance transgender players. Despite the blowback, the team beat St. Mary's University 77-70 to win its first national title. The team had protested a certain male basketball player, pretending to be a woman, by the name of Harriette Mackenzie, who was born Declan Mackenzie. The man had won MVP honors and all-Canadian awards in women's basketball.  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, March 18th, in the year of our Lord 2025. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.

It's Wednesday, December 11th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims killed 48 Christians Fulani Muslim herdsmen killed 48 Christians in central Nigeria during Thanksgiving week this year. In one attack, gunmen killed 18 Christians, including women and children, who were on their way to church. Benjamin Uzenda, former member of the Logo Local Government Council, told Morning Star News, “The Fulani herdsmen, armed with deadly weapons, shot sporadically on the Christians, butchered some victims with machetes, and destroyed their crops on farmlands.” Nigeria is the deadliest country in the world for Christians.   Psalm 116:15 says, “Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of His saints.” Notre Dame Cathedral rebuilt in 5 years after fire Five years after a fire burned down the Notre Dame cathedral in Paris, the building has been restored. After spending $845 million on construction, the cathedral opened its doors last weekend. (audio of music from the ceremony) The ceremony was attended by French President Emmanuel Macron, Prince William of England, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, First Lady Jill Biden, and U.S. President-elect Donald Trump. Initial construction for the Notre Dame Cathedral began in AD 1163.  Watch the 7-minute “CBS Sunday Morning” story. Americans rank Biden last in most recent 9 presidents A recent UK DailyMail and J.L. Partners random survey of U.S. registered voters found President Joe Biden ranked dead last among the most recent nine U.S. presidents. Remarkably, Biden's unfavorable rating beat out President Richard Nixon who resigned in shame after the Watergate scandal in 1974. However, Donald Trump was rated third worst president, indicating the harsh political divide characterizing the nation today. Ronald Reagan still ranks the best president, with the most favorable ratings. New York middle school reluctantly approved student-led Bible Club A New York middle school finally approved a student-led Bible Club this week.  Thirteen-year-old Elijah Nelson tried to start the club last school year. He's the son of a pastor and told National Review, “Every Sunday I've gone to church, and I've thought more people should hear what is said in the Bible.” However, Waterville Central School District denied the request for a Bible Club, saying it was “unconstitutional.” Attorneys with First Liberty Institute sent a letter to the school, stating, “By denying the same benefits to the Bible club that it provides to all non-curricular clubs, the school has missed the concept of 'equal' in the Equal Access Act. The school's actions are unconstitutional, and its justification is legally flawed. The Supreme Court has made clear that the Free Exercise Clause protects religious practices by both students and employees in public school settings.” 29 abortion mills closed or stopped surgical abortions in 2024 Operation Rescue reports 29 abortion mills closed or halted abortions in the U.S. this year.  Accounting for mills that opened or resumed abortions, the overall number of abortion locations decreased from 670 last year to 667 this year. While it's a small decrease, it's still significantly down from the 2,176 abortion mills in 1991. Operation Rescue President Troy Newman said, “There is no doubt that abortion facilities are struggling to survive in this post-Roe environment. As we conduct our extensive investigations, we continue to see evidence that abortion clinics are facing challenges hiring and keeping abortionists.” 47% of Americans attend church in December around Christmas And finally, Lifeway Research reports Americans are split on church attendance at Christmas. Forty-seven percent of U.S. adults say they typically attend church at Christmas time, while 48% say they do not typically attend. Scott McConnell, executive director of Lifeway Research, noted, “While church services draw more people in the Christmas season, their prime motivation isn't unified. The majority are drawn to celebrate the birth of Jesus, honoring Him as the Christ or promised Messiah. But others mostly join in because of the importance of family, their embrace of Christmas church tradition or to jumpstart Christmas vibes.” In John 4:23-24, Jesus reminds us, “The true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Wednesday, December 11th, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Muslims killed four Christians in Kaduna State, Nigeria As a Nigerian Christian man named Kushuwai started harvesting rice with his family on November 8th in Jema'a County, he suddenly found himself in the middle of a nightmare, reports International Christian Concern. Muslim extremists, believed to be Fulani militants, attacked his farming community, killing four Christians and critically wounding several others in Southern Kaduna State. Kushuwai said, “They came in their numbers, armed with guns, knives, and machetes. They encircled us without firing a shot. My son begged them to spare us, but they attacked him instead. My daughters and the other women ran for their lives while I was struck down trying to intervene.”   Although Kushuwai survived with severe injuries, his son was brutally killed. In Romans 8:35, the Apostle Paul asked, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?“ Chinese student killed 8, injured 17 after failing exam On Saturday, a Chinese student killed eight people and injured 17 others in a stabbing attack at Wuxi Vocational Institute of Arts and Technology in Yixing city, China, reports One America News. Police stated that the suspect, who was arrested on the scene, was a recent graduate who was motivated to kill and maim because of “failing [an] exam, not receiving a graduation certificate, and dissatisfaction with internship compensation.”  Biden authorizes Ukraine to use US-supplied long-range missiles inside Russia President Joe Biden has authorized Ukraine to use U.S.-supplied long-range missiles to strike deeper inside Russia, easing limitations on the weapons as Russia deploys thousands of North Korean troops to reinforce its war, reports the Associated Press. The decision allowing Kyiv to use the Army Tactical Missile System for attacks farther inside Russia comes as President Vladimir Putin positions North Korean troops along Ukraine's northern border to try to reclaim hundreds of miles of territory seized by Ukrainian forces. North Korea has provided thousands of troops to Russia to help Moscow try to claw back land in the Kursk border region that Ukraine seized this year. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and many of his Western supporters have been pressing Biden for months to allow Ukraine to strike military targets deeper inside Russia with Western-supplied missiles, saying the U.S. ban had made it impossible for Ukraine to try to stop Russian attacks on its cities and electrical grids. The Red State, a conservative website wrote, “Maybe Joe Biden didn't get the memo: he lost the presidential election and will be vacating the White House in January. It's an odd time to be announcing a significant--and perhaps escalatory--shift toward Ukraine as they try to stave off Russian aggression in the ongoing war between the two countries.” Trump picked Secretary of Energy President-elect Donald Trump has named energy industry executive Chris Wright as his choice to lead the Department of Energy, pending Senate confirmation, reports The Epoch Times. In a November 16 statement, Trump wrote, “Chris has been a leading technologist and entrepreneur in energy. He has worked in nuclear, solar, geothermal, and oil and gas. Most significantly, Chris was one of the pioneers who helped launch the American Shale Revolution that fueled American energy independence, and transformed the global energy markets and geopolitics.” In remarks at a National Conservatism conference in 2021, Wright warned that ongoing attempts to shift from oil, coal, and gas to renewables are “the largest politically driven mis-investment ever,” that will increase energy costs and reduce reliability. Christian group opposes Matt Gaetz for Attorney General A conservative Christian legal group is opposing Present-elect Trump's nomination of Matt Gaetz to be the next Attorney General Liberty Counsel, headed by Mat Staver, released a statement in which they declared, “Matt Gaetz is neither morally nor professionally qualified to become the United States Attorney General. This is the highest law enforcement position in the country. America deserves much better. “Professionally, Matt Gaetz graduated from law school in 2007, and briefly worked for a law firm in Ft. Walton Beach, Florida before being elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 2010. He served in that role until 2016, and was then elected to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2017. Gaetz has three years or less experience in the practice of law, hardly enough to serve as the nation's chief law enforcement officer.” In the statement, Liberty Counsel wrote, “Morally, Gaetz has been under a cloud of sex and drug allegations. On Wednesday, as soon as he was tapped by President-elect Donald Trump, Gaetz immediately resigned from Congress, thus ending the Ethics probe into his sex parties that includes allegations of paying an underage girl for sex. Gaetz will face tough questions during any confirmation hearing and will likely not be confirmed. His immediate resignation raises serious questions as it occurred just two days before the U.S. House Ethics Committee was scheduled to vote to release what is expected to be a damaging report.” Mike Pence opposes RFK Jr at HHS over abortion Former Vice President Mike Pence urged Senate Republicans on Friday to vote against Trump's nomination of Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. as secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, citing his views on abortion, reports the Christian Post. He said, "The Trump-Pence administration was unapologetically pro-life for our four years in office. There are hundreds of decisions made at HHS every day that either lead our nation toward a respect for life or away from it, and HHS under our administration always stood for life." Court upholds Indiana's ban on gender transition for minors A federal appeals court panel has upheld Indiana's ban on sex-change operations and hormone drugs for minors, including things like administering puberty blockers, cross-sex hormones, and cosmetic irreversible surgeries, reports The Christian Post. A three-judge panel of the U.S. 7th Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 2-1 Wednesday to reverse a lower court decision against Senate Enrolled Act 480, which passed in April 2023. Talk show host Dennis Prager seriously injured his back And finally, last Tuesday, conservative Jewish talk show host Dennis Prager seriously injured his back in a fall at his home, reports The Express Tribune. Prager, age 76, hosts a weekday show heard on 400 radio stations.  He is also the founder of PragerU, known for its short educational videos that promote conservative values on topics like economics and political science.  It is "the most viewed conservative video site in the world, with one billion views a year, more than half by people under the age of 35." Please pray for his full recovery. And send a get well card addressed to Dennis Prager, 15021 Ventura Blvd. #552. Sherman Oaks, CA 91403. It's Friday, November 8th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus and Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims killed 21 Christians in Benue State On November 1st and 2nd, Fulani Muslim herdsmen killed six Christians in Benue State, Nigeria after slaughtering 15 Christians in a nearby village two days prior, reports Morning Star News. Terwase Avande, a local resident, said they “began shooting at Christian residents.” And Paul Adetsav, a community leader, said, “The Fulani herdsmen keep attacking us almost on a daily basis, killing Christians at will and igniting fire on our houses and places of worship. “Crops we planted on our farms too have been destroyed by the armed herdsmen. Hunger has become an epidemic, killing us and our children since we have nothing to eat.” More than 400,000 members of the community have been displaced as a result of incessant attacks. According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to live as a Christian. Luke gave wise counsel in Acts 14:22. “…remain true to the faith.” Argentina's first Day of Evangelical Protestant Churches Argentina celebrated its first Day of Evangelical Protestant Churches on October 31 of this year. The country passed a law back in April to commemorate the day in memory of when Martin Luther published the 95 theses, sparking the Protestant Reformation. Fifteen percent of Argentina's population is Evangelical, numbering six million. Pastor Christian Hooft, the president of the Christian Alliance of Evangelical Churches of the Argentine Republic, said, “We celebrate the 5 solas of the monk Martin Luther: ‘Christ Alone, Scripture Alone, Grace Alone, Faith Alone, and Glory be to God Alone,' which were an emblem that remained and strongly influenced culture, knowledge, and science.” Joe Scarborough hypocritically chastises the Democratic Party Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, spent much of the first hour of November 6th pontificating about where the Democrats went wrong. His focus was not their tactical moves, but their broader failure to understand and connect with the American people regarding their concerns, reports Newsbusters. SCARBOROUGH: “So, it's time for the Democrats to look in the mirror and figure out exactly what went wrong.” However, Scarborough —a Democrat flunky himself — has personified the very problems of which he complains. SCARBOROUGH: “There was some reluctance to talk about the things that were concerning Americans that really mattered this year — illegal immigration, the mass border crossings. That was something that concerned Hispanic voters. It's something that concerned Black voters, something that concerned all voters. “We've been talking about the transgender ad. Thirty thousand times it ran over $30 million. This is going to be a problem in the three states that you need. And yet, they just didn't respond to it because they were afraid to respond to it because it might offend some small subset of their base. “They have lost working-class America. The question is, How long until they understand that this isn't just about tax cuts? This isn't just about economics. This is about cultural markers that matter greatly in these people's lives.” Joe Scarborough sounds like the late Rush Limbaugh, doesn't he? But Mark Finkelstein of Newsbusters wrote, “There has been no show more slavishly devoted to parroting Democratic themes than Morning Joe. There's a reason why Joe Biden made Morning Joe his favorite show, calling on his staff to watch it, and becoming phone buddies with Scarborough. “And when others were calling out Biden's undeniable decline, it was Morning Joe which claimed that Ol' Joe was ‘sharp as a tack.'"  White House Press Secretary blames bad economy on COVID pandemic Democrats are trying to figure out how President-elect Donald Trump won in a landslide. On November 7th, Karine Jean-Pierre, the White House Press Secretary, didn't blame the bad economy on the inflationary policies of Biden-Harris who printed up money to give away in stimulus checks. Instead, she blamed the bad economy on the COVID pandemic. JEAN-PIERRE: “One of the things that occurred was the pandemic. It caused disruption. It caused the supply chain to be disrupted, and caused the economy to be turned upside down. We are, in fact, leading the world on the economy. “That doesn't stop the fact that there has been a political toll for incumbents. That is something that I'm telling you as a data point to share because we know that you guys would have questions.” Late-night comedians meltdown over Trump win The late night comedians, who are by and large more committed to the Democratic Party than making America laugh, sounded as though they were attending the funeral of America. In fact, ABC's Jimmy Kimmel actually broke down in tears over Trump's victory. Listen. KIMMEL: “Let's be honest, it was a terrible night last night. It was a terrible night for women, for children, for the hundreds of thousands of hard-working immigrants who make this country go, for health care, for our climate. It was a terrible night for poor people, for our allies in Ukraine, for NATO. I mean, I guess it was a bad night for everyone who voted for him, too. You just don't realize it yet.” And CBS's Steven Colbert tried to comfort his liberal audience. COLBERT: “How are you doing? If you watch the show regularly, I'm guessing you're not doing great. Yeah. Me neither. “It happened again. And in this democracy, the majority has spoken. They said they don't care that much about democracy. The first time Donald Trump was elected, he started as a joke and ended as a tragedy. This time, he starts as a tragedy. Who knows what he'll end as.” Republicans flip another U.S. Senate seat Republican David McCormick has won Pennsylvania's pivotal U.S. Senate seat, as the former CEO of the world's largest hedge fund beat three-term Democratic Senator Bob Casey, reports the Associated Press. Republicans have now flipped four seats and have 53 Senate seats compared to 45 for Democrats. Nevada and Arizona are still counting ballots. U.S. House still up for grabs The U.S. House is still up for grabs, reports Fox News. Republicans have 210 seats. Democrats have 198. 218 seats are needed for the majority. 83-year-old reunited with long-lost college ring And finally, 47 years ago, Frederick Morgan Perigo, a Canadian professor, lost his gold and ruby class ring while splashing around in Barbados with his son. When he went to protect his son from a big wave, the boy accidentally pulled off his father's MacMaster University class ring as he grabbed his hand. Providentially, Alex Davis, a fellow MacMaster University graduate and a professional freediver, happened to vacation in the same spot in the Barbados. He found Perigo's ring with the help of an underwater metal detector, reports The Daily News. After discovering the year 1965 and the initials “FMP” inscribed on the ring, it was a cinch to reunite it with its rightful owner through the alumni association. Reached by email, Perigo wrote, “This is unbelievable news!” Luke 12:7 reveals that God cares about even the smallest detail since He knows the number of hairs on our head. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson 5 Nigerian guards saved village of 300 from deadly Fulani Muslims A civilian team of five guards saved a village of 300 in Plateau State, Nigeria last week from an attack by Fulanis, a fundamentalist Muslim sect. Four of the guards gave up their lives, and one survived the attack. The team's pipe guns apparently deterred further carnage.   According to the Observatory for Religious Freedom in Africa, the Fulani have been responsible for over 50,000 murders in the last four years. Plus, Truth Nigeria issued an early warning advisory to the villages before the attack occurred. TruthNigeria.com is a project of Equipping the Persecuted, dedicated to saving lives and providing help for one of the most dangerous and difficult areas in the world for Christians today. Support Equipping the Persecuted through a special link  in our transcript today at www.TheWorldview.com.  Italy prohibits homosexual couple from adopting Last week, the Italian parliament voted to ban international surrogacy, disallowing homosexuals from purchasing children for their own use or abuse. Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni backed the law, which added to the current prohibition on domestic surrogacy. Italy has banned all adoptions to “homosexual” men and women. Spain, France, Germany, and Sweden have also banned domestic surrogacy, the terrible practice of women renting out their own wombs.    The European Parliament voted in April of this year to include surrogate motherhood among the acts of human trafficking.  Kamala's anti-Christian hostility vs. J.D.'s affirmation of “Jesus as King” Two political rallies in Wisconsin over the weekend involved members of the audience calling out “Christ is King! Jesus is Lord,” reports Fox News. Listen to what the Christian yelled out followed by Kamala Harris' dismissive and hostile response at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. AUDIENCE MEMBER: “Christ is King. Jesus is Lord.” HARRIS: “Oh, you guys are at the wrong rally! (cheers) No, I think you meant to go to the smaller one down the street.” Later, at a Trump rally, a member of the audience called out again, “Jesus is King!” Listen carefully for the comment that “Jesus is King” right after Vance states that there is something bizarre with Kamala Harris' anti-Christian approach to public policy.    Then, take note of Vance's affirmation of that truth. VANCE: “There is something really bizarre with Kamala Harris's anti-Christian rhetoric and anti-Christian approach to public policy.” AUDIENCE MEMBER: “Jesus is King!” VANCE: “I don't think we've just, I don't think that we've That's right, Jesus is King. And I don't think that we've seen …” (cheers) Psalm 2:10-11 instructs the kings of the earth: “Now therefore, be wise, O kings; Be instructed, you judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.” Trump and Harris are running neck and neck As we approach the November presidential election, the polls have Donald Trump and Kamala Harris running neck and neck. The recent Suffolks University/USA Today poll puts the two candidates 50% to 49%, with Harris slightly ahead. The AtlasIntel poll puts Trump 3 points ahead.   The Trafalgar Group has Donald Trump ahead by 3% in Pennsylvania, ahead 2% in North Carolina, ahead by 1.5% in Arizona, ahead by 2% in Michigan, and behind by 1% in Nevada. And recent Newsweek and Redfield and Wilton polling has found that Americans are placing a pro-abortion position as high on their list as they approach the election.  In order of importance, Americans put the economy as the highest priority, abortion as the second highest, and immigration as the third highest priority. For Republican voters, abortion is the fourth most important issue, with only 21% choose this issue as high on their list. For Democrat voters, abortion is the most important issue, with 58% of likely voters calling this out as high on their list. Girl Scouts lost 1.5 million members over perversion push Membership in the Girl Scouts of America has dropped off to 1.5 million, down from 3.2 million in the 1970s. Practically speaking, this means they're losing money.   Consequently, the national council has recently voted to increase dues by 160% over the next three years. Last year, the American Girl Scout added a special edition Pride Patch for girls completing homosexual-themed activities during the Pride month of June, when homosexuals dedicate themselves to proud displays of their licentiousness. Romans 1:26 and 32 explains, “For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. who, knowing the righteous judgment of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” Copy of U.S. Constitution sells for $9 million And finally, a 1787 copy of the U.S. Constitution was sold for $9 million at an auction in North Carolina last Thursday.   The copy was found in a filing cabinet on a property previously owned by Samuel Johnston, governor of North Carolina between 1787 and 1789. This is the “the only located privately held, officially signed ratification copy of the United States Constitution.”  Close And that's The Worldview on this Tuesday, October 22nd, in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by Amazon Music or by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Tuesday, September 24th, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard on 125 radio stations and at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Kevin Swanson and Adam McManus Fulani Muslim herdsmen kill Nigerian Christians On Thursday, September 19th, Fulani Muslim herdsmen in central Nigeria, Africa killed two Christians, reports Morning Star News. Solomon Sanga, a local resident, said, “Audu Bala and Jonathan Moses were working on their farms when these Fulani herdsmen waylaid them and shot at them. The two died instantly, while another Christian victim, Japheth Yakubu, was kidnapped on September 10 while he was working on his farm.” In addition, the Fulani Muslim herdsmen murdered three other believers at church services the prior Sunday when they also kidnapped Pastor Yakubu and 30 congregation members. The assailants have phoned the pastor's family, demanding a ransom of $18,295. Isaiah 1:17 says, “Learn to do good; seek justice, correct oppression; bring justice to the fatherless, and plead the widow's cause.” Please pray for  Pastor Yakubu's safe return as well as the other congregation members and that these Muslim murderers will be brought to justice, repent of their sin, and trust Jesus Christ as their Savior. 16 Hezbollah terrorists killed After Israeli attacks on Hezbollah quarters in Lebanon over the weekend, the terrorist organization now reports 16 of its members were killed. Among the dead were senior Hezbollah leader Ibrahim Aqil and another top commander, Ahmed Wahb. Plus, 21 others were reportedly killed in the bombing. Aqil was a suspect in the US embassy and Marine barrack bombings that killed 300 people in 1983 in Beirut, Lebanon. Commenting on the Israeli attack, National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan  said, “Any time a terrorist who has murdered Americans is brought to justice, we believe that that is a good outcome.” Israel launched 300 missiles Monday against Hezbollah Israel launched another 300 missiles on Monday at a Hezbollah target in Lebanon. They simultaneously issued text messages in Arabic, urging residents of the area to “move away from the village.” The full context declared, ”If you are in a building housing weapons for Hezbollah, move away from the village until further notice,” reports the Associated Press.  The death toll from Monday's attack was 182 persons, at last report.  Iran's growing nuclear threat Iran has 165 kilograms of 60% Uranium and 813 kilograms of 20% Uranium, according to the latest report from the International Atomic Energy Agency. The nuclear project is increasing Iran's store of highly-enriched Uranium at a rate of 100 kilograms per year. To put this into perspective, the nuclear bomb that America dropped on Hiroshima, Japan in August 1945 contained about 50 kilograms of highly-enriched Uranium. The report is only an estimate since Iran has discontinued international monitoring three and a half years ago.  1,000 West Africans drowned in flooding Severe flooding has impacted western Africa, especially the nations of Chad, Nigeria, Mali, and Niger, reports CBS News. At least 1,000 people have drowned in the deluges. Bridges and dams have collapsed. Public buildings and homes have been demolished by the waters. Dangerous flash floods occurring in the night have caught elderly people and those with disabilities unawares, resulting in the loss of life. Around 4,000,000 Africans have been affected — many of whom have been displaced. Borno State Museum Park estimates losing 80% of their animals. Oprah's endorsement of Kamala Harris in Michigan As The Worldview reported on Monday, Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris sat down for a tightly scripted conversation with Oprah Winfrey in Michigan last Thursday. Sky News Australia called it a Cringe-fest. SKY NEWS NARRATOR: “Kamala Harris's interview with Oprah Winfrey went exactly as you would have expected. Commentators across the globe are mocking the interview, calling it a ‘cringe fest,' and slamming its pathetic attempt to mask democratic propaganda as a hard-hitting interview.” Oprah and Kamala were surrounded by liberal Hollywood actresses like Meryl Streep and Julia Roberts, who joined by Zoom, and predictably parroted Democratic talking points and fawned over the Vice President. At the very end of the virtual infomercial, Oprah enthusiastically endorsed Kamala for President. Listen. WINFREY: “This is the moment for all decent people, all caring people who want the best for yourself and you want the best for other people. This is the moment for people who are tired of all of the bickering and all of the name calling, people who are exhausted by the craziness and the made up stories and the conspiracies. “This is the moment you want to get on with your life, because you know that we can do better and that we deserve better. As my friend and mentor Maya Angelou always said, ‘When you know better, you got to do better.' Thank you. So, let's do better and vote for Kamala Harris.” Poll: Trump edging out Harris in 4 battleground states Pollsters expect the US presidential election this November to be close, most likely coming down to seven battleground states. Recent Emerson College Polling and The Hill found Trump edging out Harris in Arizona (49% to 48%); Georgia (50% to 47%); Pennsylvania (48% to 47%); and Wisconsin (49% to 48%.)  The polling discovered Harris leading Trump in Michigan (49% to 47%) and North Carolina (49% to 48%). The candidates were tied at 48% in Nevada.    Whether it be the voters or the president of the United States, remember, “The king's heart is in the hand of the Lord. Like the rivers of water, He turns it wherever He wishes.” (Proverbs 21:1) Pentecostal and Baptist pastors more likely to vote for Trump And finally, more details now on that Lifeway poll which revealed how U.S. Protestant pastors plan to vote in the presidential election which we first reported on September 18th. Pastors of Pentecostal, Baptist, and non-denominational churches are the most enthusiastic supporters of Donald Trump with 64-65% of the leaders in these denominations planning to vote for the Republican presidential nominee.   Conversely, only 24% of Presbyterian pastors and 26% of Methodist pastors are going for Trump. It's Wednesday, August 7th, A.D. 2024. This is The World View in 5 Minutes written by Jonathan Clark and heard at www.TheWorldView.com. Filling in for Adam McManus I'm Ean Leppin. Christians Targeted in Nigeria as Protests Rock the Country  Protests broke out in Nigeria last Thursday over a cost of living crisis, leaving dozens of people dead. Christians in the country have faced even more violence during the instability.  Islamic Fulani Extremists attacked multiple farms owned by Christians last week. The militants killed Christian farmers and destroyed crops.  One survivor told International Christian Concern, “Fulani wanted to kill me, but I thank God I was safe.”  Nigeria is ranked 6th on the Open Doors' World Watch List of nations where it is most difficult to be a Christian.  Nigerian Regional Church Body Leaves Compromised UMC A Nigerian bishop with the United Methodist Church (UMC) resigned last month over the denomination's support for sexually perverted lifestyles. Bishop John Wesley Yohanna led the Nigerian Episcopal Area. The entire regional body decided to leave the UMC and join the Global Methodist Movement, according to The Christian Post.  A letter from Yohanna said, “We want to make a statement that since the church has derailed from Biblical principle we cannot be in this church where … homosexuality can be celebrated.”  Psalm 1:1 says, “Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful.”  Arrest Made In An Assassination Plot in US As reported by Fox News A Pakistani man with ties to the Iranian government sought to carry out a political assassination in the United States, a case that was investigated weeks before a gunman tried to kill former President Trump at a Pennsylvania campaign rally.  Asif Merchant, 46, traveled to New York City and worked with a hit man to carry out the assassinations in late August or early September, federal prosecutors said  the plot was intended to target high-ranking U.S. officials, potentially including Trump.  ABC News Senior Investigative Correspondent Aaron Katersky gives more details concerning the case so far. KATERSKY: “His name is Asif Merchant, and he entered the United States, according to federal prosecutors in Brooklyn, in April.  And while he was here in the United States, he made phone calls, trying to hire hitmen to carry out his alleged scheme to assassinate government officials on U.S. soil.  The criminal complaint does not mention former president Donald Trump by name, but multiple sources, familiar with this case, say one of the intended targets was former president Trump.  The hitman that Asif Merchant contacted, ended up being confidential sources of the FBI, so there was never any real danger here, because it seems the Feds were onto this man from the start.  They followed him for several months, and arrested him July 12th, just before he was about to board a flight and leave the country.  The arrest, July 12th, you'll note, is one day before former president Trump's rally in Butler, PA, when there was an attempt on the former president's life.  Although, these two things are not believed to be connected.” Christian Tennis Star Wins Olympic Gold Serbian tennis player Novak Djokovic won an Olympic gold medal in the men's singles final in Paris this week. Despite being one of the world's top tennis players, this is his first Olympic gold medal. With this victory, Djokovic accomplished what is known as the “Golden Slam.” That's when a tennis player has won each of the four Grand Slam tournaments (Australian Open, French Open, Wimbledon, US Open) as well as an Olympic Gold medal.  After receiving his medal, Djokovic pointed upward and said “God is great” in Serbian. Kamala Harris Picks Running Mate In the U.S., the Democratic National Committee officially picked Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday as their nominee for the presidential election.  And yesterday, she announced her running mate—Minnesota Governor Tim Walz. The 60-year-old military veteran is known for pushing Democrat agendas in his state. Walz supports abortion up to birth, transgender surgeries, and socialism. He is a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America which supports sexually perverted lifestyles.  Georgia Town Pays $55k in Free Speech Case A city in Georgia reached a $55,000 settlement in a First Amendment case last month.  Authorities in the City of Alpharetta arrested Jeff Gray back in 2022 for holding a sign saying “God Bless the Homeless Vets” outside city hall. Gray challenged the city in court with the help of The Foundation for Individual Rights and Expression.  Thanks to the settlement, Alpharetta agreed to train officers on the First Amendment and to not punish people for peacefully demonstrating.  1 out of 10 Americans are Evangelical  A new study from Dr. George Barna documents the demise of Evangelicalism. The study defined Evangelicals as those who recognize their sinful life, rely on Jesus for salvation, and receive guidance from the Bible. Only 10% of U.S. adults are Evangelical. And only a third of those have a Biblical worldview.  Dr. Barna noted, “The data strongly suggests that evangelicals are more likely to be shaped by the culture around them than they are to influence or ‘evangelize' it.” Romans 12:2 says, “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.” U.K. Christian Settlement Becomes World Heritage Site And finally, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation added a Christian settlement in Northern Ireland to its list of world heritage sites.  German-speaking Protestants established the Gracehill Moravian Church settlement in 1759.  It received world heritage status after the U.S. led an effort to recognize Moravian Church settlements. Other settlements include  Herrnhut in Germany and Bethlehem in the U.S. state of Pennsylvania.  The Moravian Church draws its heritage from the 15th century Czech reformer John Hus. In the 1700s, the church saw a renewal under the patronage of Count Nicholas Ludwig von Zinzendorf who built the Herrnhut community. The community was known for sending pioneering Protestant missionaries throughout the world.  And that's The World View in 5 Minutes on this Wednesday, August 7th, in the year of our Lord 2024. It's Monday, July 22nd, A.D. 2024. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Fulani Muslims killed 12 Christians Tragedy struck in Nigeria on Sunday, July 14th as Fulani Muslim terrorists continued their reign of terror in a Christian community in the Benue State, murdering 12 people and wounding another 11, reports TruthNigeria.com. Andy Itodo, an eyewitness, said, “The terrorists, up to 20 in number, appeared from the forests of Egwuma on motorbikes, wielding automatic rifles, and started shooting indiscriminately. The carnage lasted for over 1 hour and 30 minutes. He added, “The worst part was that we were in our churches when the terrorists attacked us. We were not prepared.” Gideon Ehoda, another eyewitness, said, “They showed no mercy as they gunned down seven of our youths before they retreated to the bush.” Mary Otache, a 36-year-old eyewitness, said, “Even as they were shooting into the churches and people were running away, they were chanting Allahu Akbar and speaking in Fulani.” Augustus Adaji, age 28, said, “When they thought they had gotten the upper hand, we shot at them, and I know that I personally hit two of the terrorists. My colleagues shot many. Initially, they tried to resist us, but they broke up, and some fled on foot, leaving their bikes and guns.” Please pray that Amos 5:24 would come true in Nigeria. “Let justice roll down like waters, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.” According to Open Doors, Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous country worldwide in which to live for Christians. Biden withdraws and endorses Kamala Harris After nearly 31 House Democrats and five Democratic senators publicly called on President Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race, he withdrew on Sunday. In an open letter addressed to “My Fellow Americans,” he wrote, “While it has been my intention to seek re-election, I believe it is in the best interest of the party and my country to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.” In a subsequent post, President Biden wrote, “Today I want to offer my full support and endorsement for Kamala [Harris] to be the nominee of our party this year. Democrats — it's time to come together and beat Trump. Let's do this.” Democrat senator cried over Biden's withdrawal Appearing on CBS News, Democratic Senator Chris Coons of Delaware – the co-chair of the Biden for President campaign, cried about Biden's withdrawal from the presidential race. COONS: “Joe Biden is grounded. He's grounded in his faith, in his family, and in our state. (Coons gets choked up and pauses) Excuse me. I'm sorry. This was a very difficult decision. And one that I think reflects the very best of who Joe Biden is. Someone who, as you put it Bob, comes home -- comes home because it's where his strength is. His strength is in his family. His strength is in our community. His strength is in his faith.” Democrat elite pushed Biden out Appearing with talk show host Charlie Kirk on Sunday,  "Just The News" founder John Solomon took issue with how the Democrat elite powerbrokers ran roughshod over the 14.5 million Democrat primary voters who selected Joe Biden to be the party's presidential nominee. SOLOMON: “We're back to the days of Tammany Hall. The Democrats no longer regard the 14.5 million people that voted for Joe Biden -- the power brokers, the Barack Obamas and the Nancy Pelosis and Chuck Schumers. They've decided who's going to be their nominee by forcing Joe Biden out. That is not going to play well in a party that often claims that ‘democracy' is being ruined. Well, they may have just contributed to that.” Kamala Harris funded bail for BLM rioters, a failure as Border Czar Solomon responded to the coronation of Vice President Kamala Harris as the replacement presidential nominee, saying she is further left politically than Biden. SOLOMON: “As for Kamala Harris, if she is the ‘Anointed One,' because it saves them $200 million in the bank that they don't have to fundraise, there is a lot of research that the American people need to become familiar with, with Kamala Harris. “What she did in California, the fact that her [Political Action Committee] bailed out [Black Lives Matter] rioters from prison in jail, the fact that she had only one job in the Biden administration to secure the border, and she failed miserably at that. It's going to be very easy to link Kamala Harris to all of the deaths, all of the mayhem, all of the frustration that Americans have with the border because that was her one job that Joe Biden gave her. “And Biden endorsed her today quickly, because he knew that there is not unanimity in the party for her being the nominee. So, he tried to force that unanimity with his endorsement.” Trump campaign released anti-Kamala Harris ad The Trump campaign released this anti-Kamala Harris ad. NARRATOR: “Kamala was in on it. She covered up Joe's obvious mental decline.” HARRIS: “Our president is in good shape, in good health, tireless, vibrant, and I have no doubt about the strength. of the work that we have done.” NARRATOR: “But Kamala knew Joe couldn't do the job. So, she did it. Look what she got done: a border invasion, runaway inflation, the American Dream dead. They created this mess. They know Kamala owns this failed record." Trump: “How did somebody get on that roof?” In their first joint interview, Donald Trump and his VP pick, Senator J.D. Vance of Ohio, talked to FOX News host Jesse Watters about the security breach that led to the assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania. WATERS:  “They were monitoring this guy for an hour beforehand.” TRUMP: “Yeah.” WATTERS: “No one told you not to take the stage?” TRUMP: “No, nobody mentioned it. Nobody said there was a problem. I would have waited for 15 [minutes]. They could have said, ‘Let's wait for 15 minutes, 20 minutes, 5 minutes, something.  I think that was a mistake. “How did somebody get on that roof? And why wasn't he reported? Because people saw that he was on the roof. I mean you had Trumpers screaming, the woman in the red shirt, she was screaming, ‘There's a man on the roof!' And then other people, ‘There's is a man on the roof who's got a gun!' And that was quite a bit before I walked onto the stage. So, you would have thought somebody would have done something about it.” Pro-abort Democrat Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee died  Democrat Representative Sheila Jackson Lee of Texas, has died at the age of 74 after a battle with pancreatic cancer, reports NBC News. Born in Queens, New York, she first won election to Congress from Houston, Texas in 1995.  She was known for her rabid support of abortion. Most recently, Congresswoman Lee: opposed the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act to protect babies who are born alive after a botched abortion. opposed Rep. Chip Roy's amendment that prohibited Department of Defense funding for soldiers to travel to get an abortion. and opposed a resolution that condemned the violent attacks on pro-life groups. The life of the late Congresswoman Lee embodied Isaiah 59:7. It says, “Their feet rush into sin; they are swift to shed innocent blood. They pursue evil schemes; acts of violence mark their ways.” Global computer systems outage caused chaos here in America And finally, services from airlines to healthcare, shipping and finance were coming back online on Friday after a mistake in a security software update sparked hours-long global computer systems outages, reports Reuters. The incident highlighted the vulnerability of the world's interconnected technologies. More than 2,200 flights were canceled across the U.S., with nearly 7,000 delayed, as of 1:23 pm ET on Friday, according to data tracker FlightAware. The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 377 points, the S&P 500 lost 39 points, and the Nasdaq Composite lost 144 points. George Kurtz, the founder and CEO of the cybersecurity firm CrowdStrike, explained on NBC's "Today Show" how their company took down millions of computers --including air travel, banks, and more -- around the world with a single faulty software update. KURTZ: “The system was sent an update. That update had a software bug in it and caused an issue with the Microsoft operating system.” Businesses face questions about how to avoid future blackouts triggered by technology meant to safeguard their systems. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Jonathan Clark Nigerian Muslims killed four Christians On Monday, the day after Resurrection Sunday, Muslim attackers killed four Christians in northern Nigeria, One pastor told International Christian Concern, “Fulani [militias] are killing Christians in Bokkos. … Attacks by [radical] Fulani have been going on for a long time and they don't want Christians in Nigeria. Pray for us because we will never give up our faith in Christ Jesus and we will forgive them for they don't know what they are doing.” (Luke 23:45, Acts 7:60) Revelation 12:11 says, “And they overcame [the devil] by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death.” Local residents also said the Nigerian army does nothing to protect them as the attacks continue.  Nigeria is the sixth most dangerous country to be a Christian according to the Open Doors World Watch List. Taiwan's 7.4-magnitude earthquake A 7.4 magnitude earthquake hit Taiwan yesterday.  The quake killed at least nine people and injured at least 900 more. Over 150 people are trapped It's the strongest quake to hit Taiwan in 25 years. The previous 7.7-magnitude earthquake of 1999 caused over 2,000 deaths. Ukrainian pastor: The Russian war has increased church attendance CBN News reports that churches in Ukraine continue to grow since Russia invaded the country in 2022. Pastor Oleh Derkanchenko of Antonivka Kherson Church said they face constant shelling. However, attendance has grown from 100 people to as many as 700. In addition, Pastor Andrii Skantsev of the Church of Jesus Christ in Kherson shared a similar testimony.  SKANTSEV: “Before the war about 150 people attended the church. But after the start of the war, two or three times more people started attending the church, some got baptized, converted to Christianity. We had twice or thrice the amount of people who got baptized during the war.” Trump leads Biden in key swing states Meanwhile in the U.S., former President Donald Trump is leading President Joe Biden in several key swing states ahead of November's presidential election. A Wall Street Journal poll found that Trump led Biden between 2 and 8 percentage points in North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Michigan, Georgia, and Arizona. Biden only led in Wisconsin. The polls revealed Trump's lead both in a head-to-head matchup with Biden and separate polls which included Trump, Biden and Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., the independent. Trump: November 5th will be Christian Visibility Day Speaking of Trump, the former president told supporters on Tuesday that Election Day, November 5th, 2024, would be “Christian Visibility Day.” This comes after President Joe Biden declared a “Transgender Day of Visibility” which fell on Resurrection Sunday this year. TRUMP: “Such total disrespect to Christians. November 5th, [the day of the election, is going to be called something else. You know what it's going to be called? Christian Visibility Day when Christians turn now. Let's call it Christian Visibility Day, alright?” What Americans agree upon Despite much political polarization, U.S. adults agree on several issues, according to a new Associated Press-National Opinion Research Center poll. Over 90% of Americans say equal protection under the law, the right to vote, and freedom of speech are very important to U.S. identity. Over 80% said the right to privacy, freedom of religion, and the right to assemble peacefully are very important. Majorities also said freedom of the press and the right to keep and bear arms are very important.  Maryland leaders calling for prayer after cargo ship crash/bridge collapse Leaders in Maryland are calling for prayer after the tragic collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge last Tuesday. A cargo ship crashed into the bridge after departing the Port of Baltimore, leaving six people presumably dead. Baltimore Mayor Brandon Scott invited people to join him and leaders across the city by attending a prayer vigil at Mt. Olive Baptist Church.  SCOTT: “This is a unthinkable a tragedy we have to first and foremost pray for all of those who are impacted those families pray for our First Responders.” Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski and Maryland Democratic Governor Wes Moore also encouraged prayer. Cicada avalanche: Their numbers haven't been this big since 1803! And finally, this year is being called the year of the cicada. One brood of the red-eyed periodical insect emerges every 13 years. Another brood emerges every 17 years. This year they are set to coincide across multiple states. The last time this happened was in 1803 when Thomas Jefferson was president. It's not expected to happen again until 2245. Trillions of cicadas are expected to emerge in the coming months. When appearing in such numbers, their collective chorus can be as loud as jet engines! Genesis 1:25 says, “And God made the beast of the Earth according to its kind, cattle according to its kind, and everything that creeps on the Earth according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Thursday, April 4th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. She explained, “My village was attacked by Fulani [militants] on Christmas Eve. The total number of 22 people [were] killed from the attack. … Fulani have occupied our land to graze their cattle.” Continue to pray for our Nigerian brothers and sisters in Christ and consider making a donation through International Christian Concern to help. Democrats upset with Biblically-sound prayer in Congress On February 15th, 26 Democratic Congressmen expressed their outrage that Pastor Jack Hibbs of Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, California was allowed to pray as a guest chaplain in the U.S. House of Representatives on January 30th, reports The Christian Post.  In a letter to House Speaker Mike Johnson, who had invited him to lead the prayer, they blasted Hibbs as a Christian nationalist who was guilty of “spewing hateful vitriol” toward homosexuals because he has dared to affirm a Biblical view of marriage and sexuality.  They were especially upset that he claims that America was founded as a Christian nation. In a subsequent appearance on “Ministry Now” on Daystar TV, Hibbs explained the motivation of our founding fathers. HIBBS: “Our founding fathers said we're not going to start the business of the nation without prayer. People don't realize that.” He also noted some of the strange rules that governed his prayer, some of which he disregarded. HIBBS: “There are existing rules that say, for example, you're to avoid ‘Father.' That might offend some people. You can't bring up Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior ..." Co-HOST: “What?” HIBBS: “...because that's proselytizing.” Listen now to the powerful prayer of Pastor Jack Hibbs from January 30th in the opening moments of Congress. HIBBS: “Almighty God, and Father of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Together, we come before You in humility, as a people in need of Your forgiveness, Your mercy, Your goodness, and Your grace for these 250 or so years. “Our fathers, in this Congress, have prayed for Your guidance and protection. And so we stand here, in humble petition, that You today might do the same, that this nation and its unparalleled Constitution, Your great gift to all freedom-loving people, might be renewed here, and across this land, as a beacon of hope to all who seek peace. “I ask You today, Father, to bring to us a great awakening of righteousness and confidence in You, Who alone is mighty to save. Hear my cry in this hour of great need, that we might be humbly blessed before You in the repentance of our national sins. “You, Almighty God, are the source of all wisdom, and there is no wisdom, but that which comes from You. So please, come upon those here who are the stewards over the business of our nation with Your wisdom which comes from above and with Your holy fear, knowing that Your coming day of judgment draws nearer, when all who have been, and are now in the authority, will answer to You, the great Judge of Heaven and Earth for the decisions that they make here in this place. “I offer this prayer to you Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son and our crucified Savior and resurrected Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.” Indiana killed fewer unborn babies Indiana recorded its lowest number of abortions in 50 years at the end of 2023. The state's Department of Health reported 46 surgical abortions during the fourth quarter of last year.  Indiana enacted a law banning nearly all abortions last August.  Mike Fichter with Indiana Right to Life told LifeNews, “While we are encouraged that abortion numbers fell in Indiana to the lowest fourth quarter numbers in five decades, we grieve the loss of 46 children and renew our commitment to making Indiana a state where every pregnant mother receives compassionate support and every baby's life is protected.” Proverbs 31:8 says, “Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves.” Vermont school must pay $75,000 to fired Christian coach A Vermont school district has acknowledged that a snowboarding coach did not violate its rules when he criticized a trans sports policy. And now the school district will pay $75,000 to the coach to end the legal battle, reports Alliance Defending Freedom. David Bloch, a former snowboarding coach at Woodstock Union High School, filed a lawsuit last year after being fired for saying, in a conversation with a student, that he believed biological males should not be allowed to compete in girls' sports. CVS and Walgreens selling Abortion Kill Pill CVS and Walgreens announced that they will begin selling the abortion pill nationwide, even though it has killed millions of babies and injured countless thousands of women, reports LifeNews.com. The two pharmacy chains recently received certification to dispense the drugs in a small group of states, a process they initiated after the Food and Drug Administration approved new regulations last year allowing brick and mortar retailers to offer chemical abortion. Pro-life groups condemned the decision, saying that the Abortion Kill Pill ends the lives of babies before birth and that chemical abortion poses greater risks for women than surgical abortions – even as high as four times the risk. Up to one in five women will experience complications from the Abortion Kill Pill. Women are flooding emergency rooms across the country with medical and physical damage from these abortion pills. Deputies rescue 5-year-old autistic girl in Florida swamp And finally, a 5-year-old autistic girl was reported missing recently near Tampa, Florida, after she wandered off and got lost in a swamp. The haunt of snapping turtles, alligators, water moccasins, and other beasties, Florida swamps are no place for an unattended child. Providentially, a helicopter pilot spotted her and guided law enforcement officers on the ground towards her, reports Good News Network. Listen. HELICOPTER PILOT: “Hey, I think I got her in the woods. She might be able to hear her name if you call her. She gonna be about 80 feet in front of you. I've got two deputies. Just keep walking in that direction.” When those deputies on the ground saw her, they were overcome with joy. DEPUTY 1: “Oh there she is. I see her. Genesis, come her sweetie.” DEPUTY 2: “Come her sweetheart.” GENESIS: “Hey!” DEPUTY 1: “Hey!” DEPUTY 2: “Come on sweetheart.” DEPUTY 1: (laughs with delight) DEPUTY #2: “Hi, baby girl. Let's get you out of the water, okay?  You were walking quite a bit, sweetheart. We were looking for you, sweetheart.” A heartwarming story to be sure.  And a picture of how Christ rescues us with great rejoicing.  As the father in the Prodigal Son parable said, in Luke 15:24, “He was lost, but now he is found.” Close And that's The Worldview on this Friday, March 8th in the year of our Lord 2024. Subscribe by iTunes or email to our unique Christian newscast at www.TheWorldview.com. It's Monday, February 19th, A.D. 2024.  This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com.  I'm Adam McManus.  (Adam@TheWorldview.com) By Adam McManus Nigerian Muslims killed 8,222 Christians last year Over 8,000 Christians were reportedly killed in Nigeria, Africa in 2023 amid a rise in attacks, abductions and killings in recent years, reports The Christian Post.  The International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law reports that at least 8,222 Christians were killed across Nigeria from January 2023 to January 2024. It attributes the deaths to various Muslim extremist groups, including radicalized Fulani herdsmen, Boko Haram, and Nigerian security forces. Nigerian States like Benue, Plateau, Kaduna, and Niger bore the brunt of these attacks, with thousands of Christians abducted and hundreds of churches destroyed or attacked. Revelation 6:9-10 says, “When Jesus opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain because of the word of God and the testimony they had maintained. They called out in a loud voice, “How long, Sovereign Lord, holy and true, until You judge the inhabitants of the Earth and avenge our blood?” Putin critic Alexei Navalny dies in Arctic Circle Russian jail Russia's most significant opposition leader for the past decade, Alexei Navalny, has died in an Arctic Circle jail, reports the BBC. Navalny was moved to one of Russia's toughest penal colonies late last year.  According to the Daily Mail, the prison is located in a region where the temperatures are a bone-chilling 25-degrees below 0. Plus, the 1,085 of Russia's worst criminals are tortured with electric shocks, beatings, and confined to tiny cells with just a hole for a toilet. Navalny was President Vladimir Putin's most vociferous critic and had been serving 19 years on extremism charges that were widely seen as politically motivated. His wife Yulia has appealed to the international community "to help punish this regime.” One of Navalny's closest allies, Ivan Zhdanov, the Anti-Corruption Foundation chief, said it was "highly likely" that Navalny had been killed and that a "murder had actually happened.” Trump fined $354 million for fraud and deceptive business practices Last Friday, the judge overseeing Donald Trump's civil fraud trial issued him a $354.8 million penalty and barred him from running a business in New York for three years, reports Politico.com.  The judge found that for roughly a decade Trump orchestrated massive business fraud by falsely inflating his net worth to obtain favorable rates from banks and insurers. The verdict, laid out in a 92-page ruling, strikes at the heart of an aspect of Trump's identity that he harnessed in his 2016 presidential run: his personal wealth and his success as a businessman. Justice Arthur Engoron wrote that Trump, and the other defendants in the case, showed a “complete lack of contrition and remorse” that “borders on pathological.” The penalty caps a three-month trial in a lawsuit brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James who campaigned on a “get Trump” platform. Listen to the comment of James after the verdict. JAMES: “Donald Trump engaged in deceptive business practices and tremendous fraud. Donald Trump falsely, knowingly inflated his net worth by billions of dollars to unjustly enrich himself, his family, and to cheat the system. Donald Trump may have authored the Art of the Deal, but he perfected ‘the art of the steal.' “This long running fraud was intentional, egregious, illegal, he did all of this with the help of the other defendants his two adult sons and senior executives at the Trump Organization. “After 11 weeks of trial, we showed the staggering extent of his fraud and exactly how Donald Trump and the other defendants deceived banks, insurance companies, and other financial institutions for their own personal gain. We proved just how much Donald Trump, his family, and his company unjustly benefited from his fraud.” Trump reacts to New York verdict Speaking from Mar-A-Lago, former President Donald Trump reacted to the New York verdict. TRUMP: “A crooked New York state judge just ruled that I have to pay a fine of $355 million for having built a perfect company. Great cash, great buildings, great everything. “It's mostly talking about New York where we have a totally corrupt Attorney General. She campaigned on the fact that ‘I will get Trump. I will get Trump.'  Everybody's seen it. Letitia James. It all comes out of Biden. It's a witch hunt against his political opponent, the likes of which our country has never seen before. You see it in third world countries, banana republics. “You build a great company. There was no fraud. The banks all got their money, 100%. They love Trump. They testified that Trump is great. Great customer.” Senator Joe Manchin will not run for president as independent Democrat Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia announced on February 16th that he will not run for the White House as an independent. MANCHIN: “I will not be seeking a third-party run. I will not be involved in a presidential run. “I will be involved in making sure that we secure a president that has the knowledge and has the passion and has the ability to bring this country together.” Kids Online Safety Act likely to pass Senate And finally, Senators Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat from Connecticut and Marsha Blackburn, a Republican from Tennessee, reintroduced the 64-page Kids Online Safety Act with the support of 62 senators, including Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, meaning that the bill will be filibuster-proof when it comes to the floor, reports Fox News. It will restrict content for minors that promotes substance abuse, the promotion of suicide, sexual exploitation, and alcohol abuse. It would also mandate that social media companies implement certain controls to limit screen time and limit access to potentially harmful user profiles.  In Matthew 18:6, Jesus said, “If anyone causes one of these little ones—those who believe in Me—to stumble, it would be better for them to have a large millstone hung around their neck and to be drowned in the depths of the sea.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Monday, February 19th in the year of our Lord 2024. In what has become a dark annual tradition, Islamic militants in Nigeria carried out targeted attacks on Christians on Christmas Eve. Up to 200 are confirmed dead and about 300 injured in the attacks that were carried out in 20 villages across the north-central state of Plateau. Islamic militants have carried out similar Christmas attacks for at least the last four years.  The population of Nigeria is almost evenly divided between Muslims and Christians, a religious split that largely follows geographic lines. The northern part of the country is predominantly Muslim, and the eastern and southern parts heavily Christian. The middle of the country, sometimes called the “Middle Belt,” is ethnically and religiously diverse.  Not surprisingly, the threat to Christians originated from the Islamic north, though it has now spread to southern regions. Three groups are responsible for what Open Doors  has called a campaign of “religious cleansing” against Christians. Boko Haram, one of the most notorious Islamist terrorist groups in the world, is responsible for killing thousands of Christians and displacing countless more since violence began to escalate in 2015. In recent years, their ruthlessness has been matched by a rival group, the Islamic State in West Africa.   As dangerous as these explicitly Islamist groups are, the Fulani herdsmen are worse. Because the Fulani territory in north Nigeria is suffering from a long-term drought, the Fulani are moving south to access water. To take land and drive out Christians, the herdsmen have raided and burned villages, slaughtered villagers, destroyed crops, and engaged in a host of other atrocities. It was the Fulani who carried out this year's Christmas attacks.  For years, the Nigerian government has denied the obvious religious dimensions of the Fulani herdsmen, instead claiming it to be a conflict between famers and herders. Former President Muhammadu Buhari is a Fulani. Though he attempted to address some of the economic issues that drive Fulani militancy, he consistently denied that religion played any role in the conflict, pointing out that Muslim villages were also raided. However, the vast majority of attacks were committed against Christians, including Christians in churches on Christmas and Easter.   In fact, the Fulani's history of Islamic militancy dates back to the late 17th century.  Denying the religious dimensions of these attacks is pure propaganda, according to the governor of the state of Plateau, Caleb Mutfwang. In a New Year's broadcast, he called for a week of mourning to begin 2024, referring to the recent killings as a “Christmas genocide” and acknowledging the over 400 that were killed just between April and June of 2023.  “These unprovoked and simultaneous attacks in different villages were clearly premeditated and coordinated.  “These series of attacks on our people are a clear case of criminality, insurgency and terrorism and must be seen and handled in that manner if we must succeed in halting this wanton destruction of lives and property.  “For the avoidance of doubt, it is a misrepresentation of facts to describe these needless and unprovoked attacks on our people as a Farmer-Herder clash, as has always been the traditional narrative. Let us call a spade a spade; this is simple genocide!”  Indeed, what has happened to Nigerian Christians over the past decade and more meets the established international standards for the label genocide.  And yet, as Johnnie Moore noted on X, “the @StateDept is reticent to speculate on the motive of the perpetrators of a massacre of 200 Christians in Nigeria on Christmas, in an area rife with terrorists.”   It is highly suspect whether Nigerian Christians should expect help from Nigeria's current president, who was sworn into office last May. Not only is Bola Ahmed Tinubu a Muslim, but he also broke with the tradition of selecting a Christian as vice-president. Given the nation's top two officeholders are Muslim, many are understandably skeptical of the president's condemnation of the Plateau state attacks, as well as his promise that “the envoys of death, pain, and sorrow responsible for these acts will not escape justice.”   Fueling the skepticism could be that in mid-December President Tinubu referred to his predecessor as “an icon of truth, justice, and patriotism.” He then followed the habit of his predecessor in not acknowledging any religious motivation for the Christmas Day attacks.   Even if everyone else does, Christians must not forget the spiritual root of this conflict. For over a century, God has been moving and the Church has been expanding across Africa. In 1900, there were only 9.64 million Christians on the continent. Today there are over 692 million, and they are among the most committed Christians in the world. It is not surprising that Satan would inspire their ongoing persecution.     For our Nigerian brothers and sisters, we can fight on two fronts. First, we must continue to lobby our government on their behalf, asking our officials to put pressure on Nigeria to take more decisive action against Boko Haram and the Fulani herdsmen. Second, we must lobby Heaven, for both our persecuted brothers and sisters and their persecutors, praying that God's kingdom would advance and win even the jihadis to Jesus.   For more resources to live like a Christian in this cultural moment, go to breakpoint.org.

Susi Childers has served with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) for more than two decades, using her photography skills to open doors to communicate the love of Christ to people all over the world. Listen this week as Susi describes the impact of Loren Cunningham, YWAM's founder who recently graduated to heaven, on her life and on encouraging her to use her gifts more fully to further the gospel. She'll also share some of the personal qualities that made Loren such an impactful and visionary leader. Susi will also share highlights from a recent trip to Nigeria, where she ministered to widows of Christians killed in northern Nigeria by Boko Haram or by Islamist militants from within the Fulani tribe. With more than 223 million people, Nigeria is the most populous country on the African continent. It is also a young country: 70% of the people are under 30. Susi believes that reaching the people of Nigeria with the gospel can be a key to reaching millions more all across the African continent. A YWAM training school in southern Nigeria is a refuge for widows and orphans, providing them with a place to heal, as well as six months of training and discipleship. Many of the widows desire to go back to northern Nigeria, in spite of the loss they suffered there, to advance the gospel and live out their faith in Christ. With her camera in hand, Susi went to visit and meet the widows and their children. Night after night, she awakened to hear singing and found, in the wee hours of the morning, these women gathered to read the Bible and pray for their persecutors. “It was a holy place,” Susi said. “God hears the suffering of each individual day and night. He's challenging us to carry a little piece of His heart.” Listen as Susi shares how God led her to take donated jewelry with her on this visit to Nigeria, and how God used that jewelry to remind these widows of His abiding love for them. Susi and her husband, Paul, have both previously been guests on VOM Radio. Never miss an episode!
