The repeal of the fairness Doctrine allowed media giants to snap up all of it's competitors and to label "entertainment" and "opinion" as "News" For decades, it was illegal to say something that was not true and call it news. To create an atmosphere of lies to slant discourse in a contrary manner. The rise of this type of media has allowed discontent to thrive in the USA and other countries. Construing opinions, conspiracy and out right lies and mixing them with the days news coverage has brought our country to the brink of disaster! You could even make a strong case for the spread of COVID-19, infection rates and death as a direct link to certain media outlets that denied science, reason and skill to protect certain political figures. We say "JOE BIDEN REINSTATE THE FAIRNESS DOCTRINE!" And we want YOU to join us in that demand and Tweet that out today! For the sake of our democracy! www.HeartlandMamas.com#DemCast

On today's episode of Loud & Clear, Brian Becker and John Kiriakou are joined by Dr. John Ackerman, professor of Constitutional Law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), researcher at the Legal Research Institute of UNAM, and editorial director of the Mexican Law Review.Mexico’s new president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador was inaugurated on Saturday and began his six year term with a press conference--something unusual for Mexican presidents. He promised to bring what he called “deep and radical change” in his fight against crime, and he even held a meeting with his national security team at 6:00 am today, something he said would happen daily. López Obrador said that he has a “respectful” relationship with President Trump, but it promises to turn rocky in negotiations over migrants and a border wall. And, Obrador has proposed sweeping changes to the country’s economic policy to break from neoliberalism. Tuesday’s weekly series is False Profits—A Weekly Look at Wall Street and Corporate Capitalism with Daniel Sankey. Financial policy analyst Daniel Sankey joins the show. French Prime Minister Edouard Phillippe announced this morning that the fuel tax that set off rioting around the country will be suspended for six months. The yellow vest protests have grown to include other issues, however, reflecting widespread anger at President Macron for his failure to implement reforms. Brian and John speak with Gilbert Mercier, editor in chief of News Junkie Post and the author of “The Orwellian Empire.” Former President George H. W. Bush died over the weekend at the age of 94. His body now lies in state in the US Capitol and a funeral will take place tomorrow. The hosts look at the Bush presidency and the Bush legacy each day this week, focusing on a different issue. Today is about his role in the coup that overthrew Haiti’s democratically elected government in 1991. Kim Ives, an editor of the newspaper Haïti Liberté, joins the show. The European Court of Justice’s Advocate General delivered a non-binding opinion yesterday that the UK could arbitrarily cancel its decision to withdraw from the European Union if it so chose. The decision comes as the House of Commons begins a week of debate on Prime Minister Theresa May’s Brexit plan, and Parliament found the government in contempt this morning for not issuing Brexit advice. Steve Hedley, the senior assistant general secretary of the the UK’s Rail, Maritime, and Transport Workers Union, joins Brian and John. Israel’s military says that it has begun an operation to destroy what it calls “cross border attack tunnels” under its border with Lebanon dug by Hezbollah operatives. An Israeli government spokesman said the tunnels had only recently been detected and they will be destroyed without having to cross the border into Lebanon. But is this in fact motivated by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s legal and political problems at home? Miko Peled, the author of “The General’s Son - A Journey of an Israeli in Palestine” and "Injustice: The Story of the Holy Land Foundation Five,” joins the show.Nexstar Media Group announced this morning that it will buy Tribune Corporation’s 42 television stations and cable network in an all-cash $4.1 billion deal. An earlier takeover attempt by Sinclair Media was blocked by the Federal Communications Commission. If approved, the company will own more than 200 television stations covering 39 percent of all American households. Brian and John speak with Tim Karr, the senior director of strategy and communications at Free Press.

National Climate Assessment dropped like a bomb the day after Thanksgiving. Despite Trump admin attempts to bury the report under the weight of Black Friday shopping deals. The report paints a devastating picture of our future including a 10% drop in the U.S. economy. Trump says he doesn’t believe it. Trump gives a barely intelligible interview to the Washington Post revealing what his gut says about climate change and a host of other issues. The Congressional Progressive Caucus is at its largest ever and now they are demanding important committee positions in order to support Nancy Pelosi for House Speaker.  David Dayen lays out the argument for supporting Pelosi. On the other hand, Chuck Schumer said that Democrats are willing to give $1.6 billion to Trump for the border wall in order to avert a government shutdown.  Here’s a noble idea, how about ZERO dollars for Trump’s racist border wall? Sinclair Media forces nearly 200 of its affiliates to run a segment defending the use of tear gas on migrant children and families. Meanwhile, the Trump administration waived safety checks for all staff working at the nation’s largest detention camp for migrant children. That camp keeps growing by the way. 2,324 migrant kids and counting. Michael Cohen pleads guilty and implicates Trump further when it comes to the Russia investigation. Looks like Putin may have been getting a $50 million floor of a Moscow Trump Tower had the deal gone through.   Facebook scandals continue to grow as new revelations that Facebook COO Sheryl Sandberg ordered staff to do oppo research on George Soros after he criticized FB and Google and other tech giants at the World Economic Forum earlier this year. Facebook then pushed out critical stories to reporters about Soros’s funding of American advocacy groups critical of FB. Rider University in New Jersey says no way to Chick-fil-A. Given the restaurant chain’s anti-LGBTQ record, Rider officials say Chick-fil-A is not faithful to the university’s values of inclusiveness. A Chinese researcher claims to have helped make the world’s first genetically modified babies. And, Ivanka Trump found to be sending emails from a non-government server. Conservative base starts chants of “Lock Her Up…” Not. Daryl Metcalfe is looking for some new committee positions. What will it be? Will it be House Judiciary committee chair or House Education committee chair? The ever-so-swanky PA Society is this weekend and it was launched with a reception hosted by Christine Toretti, who is a Trustee to the Scaife Foundation and Trump’s Ambassador to Malta. This high-end event was hosted at Club Macanudo. Senate Republicans are threatening to not seat Lindsey Williams because of a potential resident. In today’s Last Call, it was a big week in Space News. The InSight Lander successfully touched down on Mars and prepares for several years of scientific study of the interior of the Red Planet. NASA selected nine companies to be eligible for future contracts to deliver payloads to the surface of the moon. The news had Mike Pence all tingly in the panties and galactic capitalists licking their chops at the prospects of colonizIng the new frontier. Time is running out for the Space Force. Deputy Defense Secretary Patrick Shanahan will meet with Mike Pence to try and ready legislation to drop a legislative proposal in December. And, it’s 2001 a Space Odyssey all over again as the International Space Station “wakes up” its first onboard AI called CIMON. Let’s hope this has a better ending. Huge news in my neck of the woods: The Bread Box & Bakery have moved to a new prime location at the corner of Market and 7th Street in Perkasie. Their new location now has an awesome menu, kombucha on tap, great bread, and all sorts of sustainable goods in one place. Go check them out at 1 North 7th Street and tell them you heard about it on Raging Chicken’s Out d’Coup podcast. Free Will Brewing and The Bread Box & Bakery are teaming up on Wednesday, December 5th for “Let’s Get Lit!” at the main brewery in Perkasie for Free Will’s annual Brewery Tree Lighting & Merriment! A complimentary special toast (beer for those 21+, soda for those under 21) and Christmas cookies from our Friends at The Bread Box and Bakery will be provided to those in attendance. Festivities and the countdown to illumination get underway at 7 pm.

Internment camps? Prison camps? ProPublica’s audio of kids crying in cages after being separated from families finally gets people’s attention. Right before the dam broke, Trump was receiving the highest approval ratings of his presidency, according to last weekend’s Gallup poll. Hungary - homeland to Sebastian Gorka and his Fascist loving dad - passes “Stop Soros” laws and bans aid to undocumented immigrants. In a feat of astonishing tone deafness, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said this week, “On World Refugee Day, we join the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and our international partners in commemorating the strength, courage, and resilience of millions of refugees worldwide who have been forced to flee their homes due to persecution and conflict….This commitment to the world’s most vulnerable individuals remains a critical component of America’s national security policy.” Democrats helped set the table for this shit show, by the way. Just listen to Chuck Schumer’s speech at Georgetown Law in 2009.  Oh, yeah. Hey, media….the brutality and racism IS THE FREAKING POLICY. Did we mention that the US backed out of the UN human rights commission? Sinclair Media forces its affiliates to air segments blaming media for overreacting about child separation. Trump encourages Washington Post employees to strike hours after it dropped huge scoop on Russian collusion. And it was good to see Rachel Maddow off the Russia story for a bit. Good to have you back. LOCK HIM UP! Paul Manafort goes to prison for witness tampering. Gets put in “solitary confinement” for his own protection? Ocasio-Cortez faces off against Joe Crowley for the heart and soul of the democratic party this Tuesday in New York City.  Ocasio-Cortez is endorsed by groups like Our Revolution and the Democratic Socialists of America Still waiting for the Janus v. AFSCME ruling to drop. Looks like Monday at this point. Republican-oriented polling firm releases poll showing ⅔ of Americans and majority of union households would support a ruling in favor of Janus. Melania wears a jacket that says “I really don’t care. Do u?” on an airplane to visit immigrant children separated from their families. Elon Musk registers a domain named “Pravda” that would rate journalists credibility. Speaking of Elon Musk, Musk goes on a twitter claiming that he is a socialist and Marx was a capitalist because he wrote a book on capitalism. Closer to home in PA, the budget is done. Protests to shut down the Berks Detention Center. 17-year-old Antwon Rose was unarmed and shot and killed by East Pittsburgh. Police.  Colleen Bradley files Petition for Writ of Certiorari to SCOTUS. We’ve got the hard copy. Now is the time to pay attention, step up, and get behind this case.
