It's been 36 years (to the day, 8/20/1989) since Erik and Lyle Menendez killed their parents- and it's always been about the why. The Menendez brothers will have their parole hearings this Thursday, 8/21 and Friday 8/22, after an LA County Superior Court judge reduced their sentences from life in prison without the possibility of parole to 50 years to life.
