Howard and maybe even Lovecraft. Were there any other classical authors you turned to in constructing the narrative?I've been loving your use of captioning in The Penguin of late, but really all of your captioning shows a strong sense of character and storytelling. When scripting a story like Helen of Wyndhorn, do you start with captions or elsewhere?Early press materials compared this series to Conan the Barbarian and Wizard of Oz, both evoke fantasy, weirdness, and fights, can we expect all those and more in this series?Do you have a favorite iteration of Wizard of Oz and a favorite run on Conan the Barbarian?I've loved Bilquis' work since first seeing her work with Sugar & Spike, with Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow under your belts, do you have a shorthand working on Helen of Wyndhorn?Something I've adored about your work is how to pushes the comics format, which I especially saw with Danger Street. Is this something you're conscience of? Are you toying with anything in comics format with Helen of Wyndhorn?I imagine we're in for some creatures in this series, what goes into creature design from your perspective? Last time we spoke you had said Danger Street was done and getting finished, Gotham City Year One was finished, have you scripted every issue of Helen of Wyndhorn?

When it comes to your Detective Comics run so far, an interviewer with less skill than I might say Gotham is a character, one that feels unique in that it's noir, but also ornate, how important was it for your approach to get Gotham right?Visually Detective Comics is dark, dank, grungy, what makes Rafael Albuquerque and Ivan Reis the perfect fit for the vision of the book?A lot of the dialogue and captioning has a poetic nature to it, do you write poetry in your free time?Ram, I'm curious about the song in the club in Detective #1063. Is that a real tune, or something written just for Harvey?Themes of sanity are present in Detective Comics, like Two-Face facing his own duality, why do you think these themes resonate with audiences?Two-Face consistently tells Harvey that he's the only one looking out for him, that he cares about him. Is there some truth there, or is this the most insular abusive relationship ever? There are so many tools at your disposal when crafting a comic, from letters, to formatting of a page, which we see you do a lot of in Detective Comics #1068. As someone with a lot of impressive comics under your belt, do you ever find yourself trying to disassemble how a comic story is told and then reassemble it?For those that read only Carnage or only read Detective Comics, is there a connective tissue of themes or your approach that could be said to swing their attention to the book they aren't reading? You're always working on so many titles at once--50 issues written in 2022--can you give us any hints or details on what your 2023 will look like?

Well, it's finally happened. We've run out of MCU movies (for now). So let's take a trip to a different universe (or several different universes, in fact) and talk about the Academy Award-winning animated film SPIDER-MAN: INTO THE SPIDER-VERSE. Eduardo, Peach3z, Chris, and Robbie talk about the scenes that made them laugh, the scenes that made them cry, their favorite Spider-Folk, Spider-Heroes they hope to see in future installments, and that incredible visual style.

At what stage did the title get thought up? James, I know you’ve said previously this story has been percolating in your head for awhile, once Werther Dell'Edera came on as artist how long did it take to hash out the style, the characters designs, stuff like that? What are your biggest horror influences? The color palette is gorgeous in this book, there are these blacks and blues in the night time scenes, then bright bright whites in the day scenes. Can you talk a little about that choice and what you were going for? Something that was so striking to me was the use of gore in the book. Is there a science to how much and when it drops in the story? Erica Slaughter is an instantly likable character even though she’s a bit weird in her own way. Also, I totally see folks cosplaying as her soon. I almost think her favorite book growing up would be Where the Wild Things Are, but she was reading it in a different way. Can you talk a bit about this character? Do you remember the moment you fell in love with comics? What has been your proudest moment in comics? Seeing as this is an idea that has been living in your head for awhile, are there any more (how many) horror stories that you are tinkering with? **Segment: Superfight: **Krampus vs. Jigsaw - worst roommate Off Topic Top Shelf: James Tynion - New wave of horror films
