What actually makes a life meaningful? In this episode of Raising Wild Hearts, Ryann Watkin sits down with psychiatrist and author Anna Yusim to explore the difference between happiness and fulfillment — and why so many people still feel empty even after achieving success.Together, they unpack the hidden cost of achievement culture, the role of authenticity in mental health, and why intuition may be one of the most overlooked guides to a meaningful life.Dr. Yusim also shares her biopsychosocial-spiritual framework for wellbeing, explaining how our biological, psychological, social, and spiritual health all shape our sense of purpose and fulfillment. This conversation explores:• The difference between happiness and fulfillment• Why achievement alone doesn't create meaning• The “still quiet voice” of intuition• Authenticity and the masks we wear• Gratitude vs entitlement• Dark nights of the soul and personal transformation• How to feel more aligned with yourself and your lifeIf you've ever found yourself wondering, “Why doesn't this life I worked so hard for feel the way I thought it would?” — this episode is for you.
If you've been thinking about pulling back from your podcast this summer because you're tired, overwhelmed, or struggling to keep up… you are so not alone. And honestly? These podcast marketing strategies might completely change the way you think about consistency.Because here's the truth no one really talks about: summer changes the way people consume content. Routines shift. Downloads fluctuate. Energy looks different. And for a lot of coaches and consultants, trying to maintain the exact same pace all year long is what leads to burnout — not growth. This conversation is all about creating a smarter strategy for your podcasting business without disappearing completely. Instead of putting pressure on yourself to constantly produce more content, you'll hear a different approach to podcast growth that feels lighter, more sustainable, and honestly… a lot more effective. We're talking about podcast marketing strategies on how to use shorter episodes to support discoverability, why bingeable micro-content works so well during slower seasons, and how to revisit older episodes using a stronger podcast SEO strategy. Because one of the biggest mistakes people make in podcasting for business is assuming old content stops working. It doesn't. In fact, your back catalogue could become one of your biggest visibility assets when used intentionally. You'll also learn how to grow podcast downloads without creating brand-new long-form content every single week, how to use evergreen marketing strategy principles to strengthen your visibility, and why strategic consistency matters so much more than constant output. These podcast marketing strategies are designed to help you build a podcast for business growth that actually supports your life instead of consuming it.And this is where so many podcast tips and strategies miss the mark. It's not about doing more. It's about creating the right content, in the right season, with a strategy that actually works long term.If you're ready to build a podcast that creates authority, visibility, and real business growth, come join me inside Podcasts That Convert at janditchfield.co/join.If your podcast is getting listens… but not bringing in clients? This is for you! I'm hosting a brand-new FREE 3-day live workshop called From Listener to Lead, where I'm going to show you how to turn your podcast into something that actually helps grow your business.Because most business podcasts are built to “put content out there” — not actually bring in leads or sales.Inside this workshop, I'll show you how to:✨ Help the right people find your podcast✨ Create episodes that build trust and lead to sales✨ Plan your next 10 podcast episodes strategicallySo instead of wondering what to post next… your podcast actually starts working for your business.

This month's music selector guest is the NYC and Ireland music fan Lauren Kennedy, who went viral for her Track Star video last year. Lauren Kennedy is the Athlone woman who has lived in New York for the last six years and is known for the viral video on the Track Star Youtube channel where she won $20,500 for correctly guessing all of the Irish bands selected for her on the show. Lauren very soundly donated all the money to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund. It was her second time on the show, after her first appearance where she was surprised by Bon Iver. You may, like me have been following her gig escapades in recent months in NYC where she went to see a load of Irish bands who were over to play. Lauren just moved back to Ireland for the summer so a perfect time to welcome this legend back to the country by catching up with the music she's loving at the moment. Music discussed and chosen on the episode from Dove Ellis, Florence Road, David Kitt, Rua Rí, Shamrock Showband, The Last Dinner Party, Getdown Services, Crying Loser, Lemoncello and Fundido. There's a particular kind of magic that settles over the world this time of year. Maybe you've felt it too, that gentle call to exhale, to let things soften a little. To stop chasing the next thing and instead linger in the moment, barefoot in the garden with dirt under your nails and absolutely no idea where your phone is (and honestly, not caring either).Summer has its own rhythm. She doesn't rush. She unfurls. She shows up unapologetically, sun-kissed, slightly overgrown, humming with bees and possibility. And every year, I find myself needing to answer her invitation again. To slow down. To live with less noise. To breathe more deeply. And if I'm honest, this year more than ever, I need that exhale.Walking the Walk (Even When It Feels Uncomfortable)I talk a lot on the podcast, here on Substack, on Instagram, about slow living, simple living, seasonal living. I share practical ways to strip back the chaos, to live more intentionally, to reconnect with rhythms that feel more human and less machine. But here's the thing: sharing about slow living is not the same as actually living it.I've had to sit with that recently. Because while I believe deeply in everything I write and teach and podcast about… I can also be incredibly good at staying busy in service of slowness. Isn't that wild? I can fill my calendar with things that all “support” my values and still end up frazzled, overstretched, and a little bit disconnected from the very life I'm advocating for.So this summer, I'm choosing to walk the walk. For real. Which means creating more space in my schedule and energy. Saying no, kindly but firmly. Letting some things rest. Including, most notably: the podcast.
As the warmth of summer fades and the cool breeze of autumn begins, we're reminded of the inevitable changes life brings. In this episode of the Tuesday People Podcast, host Mitch Albom reflects on the end of summer—both in nature and in life. How do we embrace the beauty of autumn, and what can we learn from the autumn years? Drawing on wisdom from Morrie Schwartz, who returned to the classroom in the fall one last time after his ALS diagnosis, Mitch explores how we can face the coming winters of our lives with realism, optimism, and peace. In this last lecture in the Hibernian Mystery series given by Rudolf Steiner, we see how a materialistic understanding of spiritual beings came to be the dominant way of relating to spirituality. You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring what it means to "leverage your life." Today's reading centers around 1 Corinthians 15:58 and Galatians 6:9. Living fully and dying empty isn't about grand gestures or momentous achievements. It is about making steady progress each day on the things that truly matter. It is recognizing that you have a unique contribution to make to the world - one that only you can fulfill. Your days are numbered, and with each passing moment, you have an opportunity to plant seeds for tomorrow in the soil of today's decisions. You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring what it means to "leverage your life." Today's reading centers around James 1:2-4 and Romans 5:3-5. How do we leverage these heavy things? It starts with our response. Will we let disappointment have the final word, or will we choose to see it as an invitation to deeper intimacy with God? Will we allow our weaknesses to define us, or will we let them be the very places where God's power is displayed? The beautiful thing is that when we bring our honest struggles to God, something shifts. Our circumstances may not change immediately, but we do. We begin to see our difficulties not as obstacles to avoid, but as opportunities for growth and transformation. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!

You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring what it means to "leverage your life." Today's reading centers around Matthew 5:13-16. In Jesus' time, it was a preservative, a purifier, and a flavor enhancer. When Jesus calls us the "salt of the earth," He is saying we have the power to preserve what is good, purify what is corrupt, and bring out the best in the world around us. But here's the kicker: salt is only effective when it is in contact with what it is meant to season. You can't influence from a distance. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring what it means to "leverage your life." Today's reading centers around Proverbs 20:5 and Ephesians 1:17. The way to find "your thing" is by first doing "a thing." Start somewhere. Lean in. God is far less concerned about the specifics of what you are doing than He is about your authenticity, availability, and willingness to be used by Him. Think about the things that make your heart come alive. What are your gifts, talents, and passions? How could you use them to advance God's Kingdom rather than just your own agenda? This isn't about adding more to your already busy life. It is about taking what you are already doing and offering it to God, making it available for Him to use. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring what it means to "leverage your life." Today's reading centers around Romans 12:1-2. The path of leverage isn't one of striving or manufacturing results through self-effort. It's a journey of trusting God more fully with who you are and what you have. It is an ongoing process of becoming aware of everything He has entrusted to your care - your personality, talents, wealth, platform, family, community - and asking "God, what do you want to do with this?" For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "active in service." Today's reading centers around 1 John 3:18 and Hebrews 6:10. When we avail ourselves to serving inside the church, something profound happens. Our imagination awakens to how our actual lived life can be rooted in an others-focused love. Serving stretches us by taking us out of our comfort zones and disrupting our familiar routines, bringing us face-to-face with needs that aren't our own. In the process, God begins teaching us and revealing the depth of His sacrificial, generous character. The more we sacrificially give of ourselves, the more our hearts slowly become shaped into His image of radical love. Our perspective shifts from consumption to actually blessing the lives of those around us with the indescribable grace we have been given. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "active in service." Today's reading centers around Philippians 2:3-4 and 2 Corinthians 12:9. On the journey of grace, there are no grades, only lessons learned. Grace covers every imperfect performance. Instead of judging your missteps, Jesus uses them as teaching moments, constantly refining you and replacing your fearful pride with humble reliance on Him. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "active in service." Today's reading centers around Romans 12:3-5. We all struggle with making excuses at times, don't we? Excuses for avoiding things that are good for us, like exercising. Or excuses for overlooking important responsibilities like calling a loved one on their birthday. Nowhere do the excuses seem to come more easily than when it comes to serving at church. The truth is, each of us has been gifted by God with unique abilities and strengths we can contribute, as Romans 12 reminds us. We may sometimes struggle to see the gifts in ourselves, but they are there. And those gifts matter- they are an essential part of the body of Christ. Without them, there are real gaps and needs that go unmet. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "active in service." Today's reading centers around 1 Peter 4:10. Each of us has been drawn to God and placed within this church for a reason. We are not mere spectators but active participants, each with a unique role to play. When we embrace our calling and use our gifts and talents in service, we move from the sidelines to the forefront, becoming agents of change and vessels of God's love. You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "active in service." Today's reading centers around Mark 10:45. Over and over, Jesus flips our human values on their head. "You have heard it said, but I say to you..." He takes our cultural assumptions about winning, fame, and self-promotion, and replaces them with a radical call to authentic humility and selfless love. This is the way of Jesus - the upside-down life - a path He modeled from birth to death. God's own Son didn't come to be served by the universe he created, but to serve and give his life as a ransom for humanity. From the manger to the cross, it was all about radical self-giving love for others. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "engaged in community." Today's reading centers around Romans 15:7 and Revelation 7:9. Imagine a big dinner table with lots of chairs and all kinds of delicious food. People laugh and catch up. As conversations break out in the background, the smell of the food makes you want to come and join. This is what true community should look like - a place where everyone is welcome, where there's always room for more, and where all people are celebrated and embraced, no matter their differences. In a world that often separates and divides people, we are called to create spaces where love, understanding, and grace can grow. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "engaged in community." Today's reading centers around John 13:34-35. Jesus unveiled the mark by which his followers would be known - a radical, sacrificial love for one another. It would not be their knowledge, their morality, or their works that would set them apart. No, they would be identified by their genuine, others-oriented care and compassion. This is the way of Jesus. Love is not merely an emotion or feeling. It is an action - a willingness to give ourselves away for the good of another. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "engaged in community." Today's reading centers around Ephesians 4:14-16. Our shared identity as a community comes with a profound responsibility to care for, uplift, and support one another. Christ-centered community is where God's love is exchanged, experienced, and expressed. This new type of community demands intentional nurturing and cultivation. Our actions-or inactions- have consequences that extend beyond ourselves, impacting the fabric of our community and even beyond its boundaries. For more information, check out portcity.church/summer!
You are listening to our weekday Summer Podcast series where we are using this summer as a RESET — an opportunity for us to return to what matters most! This week, we are exploring being "engaged in community." Today's reading centers around Hebrews 10:24-25. God's love through Christ is the great equalizer. It reminds each of us that we are all broken people in need of a Savior. This is our common humanity underneath all the external things that tend to divide us. And because of God's love, we can strip off pretenses and insecurities. We don't have to posture or impress. We can simply belong and find freedom to become who we were created to be.
