Conspiracy radio legend Richard Syrett has seen it all in his time on the airwaves, and he leans on that experience when analyzing this uniquely contentious moment between Canada and the United States. Who is Mark Carney, the man poised to become Canada's next PM? Should we be concerned about his connections to the Bank of England and Ghislaine Maxwell? Could Canada actually become the 51st state? He delves into those questions, as well as another pressing issue -- is Brigitte Macron trans? Also this week we discuss the remarkable qualities of the Shroud of Turin, and why Syrett thinks it covered the body of Jesus at the moment of resurrection. Gold, Mint, True Werk

Melonie Syrett's career as a primary school teacher took a turn when a series of synchronistic events steered her onto a very different path. Her discovery of Reiki and other holistic modalities were the spiritual breadcrumbs of a magical journey that just kept on growing... When a serious health condition was diagnosed 'without a cure', Melonie immersed herself in sound healing where she realised her love of drumming to be the greatest healer of all. The spirit of the drum has become the driving force of her life in many ways, and Melonie now makes and decorates her drums with stunning artwork channelled by the spirits of the land and the ancestors. She holds drumming circles, and drum birthing workshops, drum circle facilitator training and retreats... as well as travelling to sacred sites, festivals and markets. This year sees her first Drum convention in Essex as part of the call to build a community and fully embody the spirit of the Drum as an instrument of healing and transformation for people and the planet. How can fashion take action right now for a net positive future? From climate and biodiversity to worker livelihoods and fair wages to overconsumption and textile waste, the gaps between where we need to be and where we are right now feel… vast. But in this episode, we're discussing ways that fashion act right now — like tomorrow — on 5 key pillars that encompass both people and planet. These are areas where the research, and tools are readily available, even for implementing at a large scale. Ahead you'll hear my conversation with Holly Syrett, the Impact Programmes and Sustainability Director at Global Fashion Agenda (GFA), a nonprofit organization that accelerates measurable impact in the fashion industry.Perhaps what GFA is most known for is their Global Fashion Summits but they also drive impact through collaborative commitments, impact programs, thought leadership publications and by engaging with policy & advocacy.Their flagship report — which is freely accessible for all — is the Fashion CEO Agenda. And this year's edition, released at the Boston Fashion Summit, is offering more specific tangible action than ever. I kind of think of it as the no-excuses actionable sustainability playbook for fashion brands.I was excited to be able to have this conversation with Holly and be able to share it all with you for free because I know that there are so many of you that work in sustainable fashion or aspire to and want to dive deeper into these types of industry insights but they're not always accessible. So enjoy this conversation with Holly!***PRESENTED BY...The Conscious Fashion Collective MembershipIf you are a sustainable fashion professional or aspiring to transition into this industry, check out our sister platform Conscious Fashion Collective. Our podcast guest this week is Katie Syrett. Katie is a women's health physio based in South Manchester. In fact, she is also my women's health physio. She is a wonderful woman, warm, practical and has made a massive difference to me and lots of women I know. I had symptoms for a long time before I did anything about it. Wishing and hoping that it would resolve on its own. It didn't. After getting some help, I started to speak about it with friends and clients. It has been so shocking and upsetting to hear other peoples stories, what so many of us are coping with. We need to talk about it more. Katie is brilliant, in this episode we cover; Katie's experience and why she started working in women's healthKatie's birth experience and we briefly talk about back to back labour The physical changes that you will experience in pregnancy When you should seek some extra support with your pelvic floor Advice for all women after giving birth What to expect from a session with a women's health physioThe main thing to take away from this is that it is never too late to get help, you can make huge changes and see a big difference in your symptoms. This episode begins a new series on the podcast called Knowledge Rising, which is dedicated to speaking with young activists, knowledge-shapers and knowledge-makers, in order to hear their own insights on the global issues they're working on and are passionate about. The series is a space to build our understanding collectively about how we can act on the issues that affect our common future. We kick off with a conversation on the global impact of what we wear: the fashion and apparel industry. Holly Syrett (Senior Sustainability Manager at the Global Fashion Agenda) and Colette Grosscurt (a Responsible Investment Officer at ACTIAM) are based in Amsterdam and are dedicating a lot of their work to helping change the fashion industry to a more sustainable one. They're both part of the World Economic Forum's Global Shapers community, a network of young people driving action and change on global challenges. They together co-founded the initiative called Shaping Fashion, and in this conversation share their own insights into this industry, which accounts for at least 8 to 10 per cent of global greenhouse emissions among other impacts on the environment, labor rights and gender equality. They also share what is needed to bring about change globally through multilateral efforts, but also what we can all do to act now by choosing more consciously what we wear. Melonie Syrett spent 20 years in tremendous pain every month. From her first bleed as a teenager it was extraordinarily painful and it only got worse. Endometriosis was the diagnosis and her life was consumed around the pain and the timing of her periods. Every single aspect of her life was affected: her love life, social life, career...everything. Finally, put on the Pill, her hormones were subdued to such an extent that she lived in a shell, devoid of feeling, libido, excitement or life energy - and THAT was her turning point. She made the decision this was NOT her life and the universe took her from there: teachers, retreats, womb healings, books and sister circles flowed into her life without ANY asking from her. Her only 'action' had been that decision one day. Melonie now has COMPLETELY pain free bleeds, cured herself of Endometriosis, she holds sister circles, has immersed herself into the world of drumming, she teaches about cycles and bleeds and advises parents on how to speak to their children about puberty and their moon cycles - she is an inspiration to ANYONE and could be perfect timing for you right now if YOUR periods are running and ruining your life.
Colette Grosscurt & Holly Syrett, are sustainability and impact professionals. Her background is in social and environmental impact assessments for companies and financial institutions. Together they have co-initiated projects that further the Sustainable Development Goals agenda and realize a more sustainable fashion supply chain. A Global Shaper project SHAPING FASHION. Holly has a background with the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, aiming to increase transparency throughout the apparel value chain, to identify and act upon opportunities for improvement and to empower consumers/citizens to make informed purchasing decisions on basis of trusted sustainability information. Shaping Fashion is a global initiative to scale sustainable transformations in the fashion industry through the Global Shapers network. Every year during Fashion Revolution Week in April hubs collaborate with local teams of industry experts to organize events, workshops, clothes swaps and film screenings to push for change in their communities. Beyond that, hubs co-create longer term projects with lasting positive impact on the sustainability of the fashion industry. In 2019 >30 hubs participated in Shaping Fashion: Amsterdam, Bangalore, Bangkok, Bilbao, Beijing, Cambridge, Chicago, Cordoba, Cuernavaca, Dallas, Davao, Dusseldorf, Hong Kong, Hyderabad, Iloilo, Istanbul, Jaipur, Johannesburg, Joinville, Kano, Los Angeles, London, Lugano, Lusaka, Mexico City, Milan, Minneapolis, Mumbai, Oranjestad, Paramaribo, Peshawar, Raleigh, Rome, Skopje, Yerevan, Yokohama. Today we’re revisiting an old episode where Matt spoke with Alicia Syrett, founder and CEO of Pantegrion Capital, a seed and early-stage angel investment firm based in New York. However, you might know her better from her appearances on CNBC’s Power Pitch or MSNBC’s Your Business. The interview is from all the way back in April 2017. We’re bringing this one back around because her advice for when, why, and how to raise capital is as useful and relevant today as it was then. In fact, with capital leaving the coasts and looking to the middle of the country, it’s even more important to stand out among the other entrepreneurs raising capital. In this episode, you’ll learn how Syrett began her career in private equity after working for years in financial analysis, recruiting, and early-stage startup investing. Plus, she’ll talk about how she advises her portfolio companies and helps them connect with the right people. So, whether you’re looking to raise capital or invest, this conversation paints the full picture of the Angel Investment space. We thought we’d bring this episode out of the archives to revisit a key need to continue the growth of tech between the coasts.
