They date from the 2nd Century AD but may be even older in their original form. Kevin claims to have discovered within them the lost ‘Book of Great Secrets', and that the Major Arcana suit of the tarot deck has its origins in ancient Egypt and is actually an account of the world's creation. Thank you all!! About Our Guest: Kevin was the church president of Waterloo Spiritualist Church, Liverpool, UK, for many years but is no longer attached to any religion or organisation. He is also a multi-award-winning filmmaker with many hours of production and broadcast credits to his name, including managing a TV studio for the Uk's ITV network. He was a regular on Liverpool's City Talk FM as an esoteric pundit and guest with Lady Snake on the Psychic Surgery lunchtime phone-in. Kevin is currently engaged in searching out the Faery Folk following his life-changing encounter with them in September 2023 when he returned to his ancestral home on Valentia Island, County Kerry, Ireland, follwing te death of his father. Dissatisfied with his current publisher, Kevin has set up his own imprint called Valentia Press, name after the Irish island from which his family hail. He holds two black belts with the World Ju-Jitsu Federation. About The Book: Secrets of the Egyptian Nag Hammadi The Nag Hammadi texts were found in the Upper Nile town of the same name by a farmer in 1945. They date from the 2ndCentury AD but may be even older in their original form. Kevin claims to have discovered within them the lost ‘Book of Great Secrets', and that the Major Arcana suit of the tarot deck has its origins in ancient Egypt and is actually anaccount of the world's creation. They offer a plausible answer to the really big questions of who, what, why, when, where and how we are, through ‘the revealing', ‘the psychic' and the ‘spiritual science of God'! These texts are the teachings of masters and exponents immersed in the disciplines of understanding energies, auras, spirits, demons and other classes of interdimensional entities that move through our world, and the realms they occupy and control. And of the latter, the texts seek to give to us the gravest warning of ‘archon' intrusion, their universal threat to us, and how these creatures emerged as a supra phantastic, super intelligent anomaly from the bile of the original womb in the predominant form of so-called ETs and can move through ether and matter like fishes through water. They are delineated as the supreme, sabotaging influence on that which created us. These texts make a promise to you. If you persevere you will be greatly rewarded, and your understanding of life made fuller. They will slowly reveal to you their ‘great secrets'. But you are warned that this may come at a price! The interdimensional ‘powers' that have conspired to keep mankind blind and locked in slavery may well visit upon you prior to, during, or just after your sleep state. They dread the human being becoming alive to their evil. They exist in a state of fear of being discovered any minute now. Should you come under their attack, do not fear because they texts tell you how to deal with it

Back in June 2021 - when we were flying a lot less - we caught up with Tony Tighe, Head of Aviation Services Met Eireann, for one of our Long Final Interviews to talk about the services available to general aviation in particular. The first ‘real-time weather observation was transmitted from Valentia Island in Co. Kerry on the 8th of October, 1860. However, it was not until 1936 that the Irish Meteorological Service provided accurate weather information for transatlantic aviation. Forecasting for aviation was the chief preoccupation for the fledgling Service. That is, until 1948, when it assumed responsibility for the weather forecasts broadcast by Radio Éireann. Many things have changed in the intervening years, such as the installation of high-resolution weather radar systems at Dublin Airport and Shannon Airport in 1990 and 1996, respectively. In March 1996, its 60th year of operation, the Meteorological Service adopted the new title Met Éireann. In 2001, Met Éireann launched its website, and in 2008, a specialised web-based Met Self Briefing service was introduced to provide aviation data to pilots and aviation customers. Hosted on Acast. Valentia Island is on the southwest coast of Ireland, in the southwest part of County Kerry. The island's lighthouse, built on the grounds of a 17th century fort at Cromwell Point, began service in February 1841. The stone tower stands 49 feet tall, and the adjacent keeper's house is a concrete building constructed in 1910. Valentia Island's last light keeper, Harry Staniforth, and his family were the last residents of the station, leaving when the lighthouse was automated in 1947. Valentia Island Lighthouse, Ireland. Photo by Jeremy D'Entremont. The house is now fully restored as a museum, and visitors get to climb the lighthouse tower for a spectacular 360-degree view of the wild Atlantic. The light itself remains active and is maintained by the Commissioners of Irish Lights. Lucian Horvat is the project manager for the Valentia Island Development Company, which has been developing the light station as a tourist destination in collaboration with the Commissioners of Irish Lights and the Kerry County Council. In 1858 the first ever message to be transmitted across an ocean – a note of congratulations from Queen Victoria to President Buchanan of the United States -- was sent from Valentia Island in County Kerry to Trinity Bay in Newfoundland. The 98-word message took 16 hours to transmit, and the US President's 143-word response was sent in just 10 hours. Improvements in cable technology meant that when the next successful cable was laid, in 1866, messages that had once taken two weeks by ship could be sent in minutes. Valentia Island in County Kerry played a major role in connecting the old and new worlds for the first time, placing Ireland at the ‘cross hairs' of the emerging global communications industry. The Valentia Transatlantic Cable Foundation Board, established in May 2016, is now working with the community at Valentia and Kerry County Council to pursue UNESCO Heritage status for the Transatlantic Cable ensemble at Valentia. Organised by the Trinity Long Room Hub in partnership with the Valentia Transatlantic Cable Foundation on Thursday, to explore the significance of this historic achievement and hear how the ‘wire that changed the world' continues to inspire us today.

This week on Shelfmarks imaginary islands, real books and Manchán Magan on the magical in betweenness of Irish. The Royal Irish Academy holds the most important collection of Irish language manuscripts in the country and more specifically it holds medical manuscripts - 6000 thousand pages across 30 different textbooks. One of these medical books is called the Book of O'Lees or Book of Hybrasil. This week Zoë relays the origin of the book of O'Less and Manchán Magan reads two specially commissioned essays prompted by the Book of O'Lees. One about Bog Plants and the medicinal cures found in Irish plants and the other about the nebulousness of the island of Hy-brasil: “I've never been to Valentia Island in my life, but I don't doubt it exists. I've sat in Portmagee in a thick mist and looked out on nothing, on a miasma of white vapour, but still I accept Valentia Island as part of reality. That's how it was for people with regard to Hy Brasil. Many, many people throughout history claimed to have seen it, and there are still some alive today who have told me directly they've seen the allusive, mystical island. But, there are far more people living along the west coast of Ireland at points from which it is supposed to be visible who've never once even caught a glimpse of it. It both exists and doesn't exist. Má thuigeann tú leat me (if you get what I mean).” Tune in to hear more of Manchán essays on Shelfmarks Episode 4. Zoë and Manchán also discuss how Irish holds many clues to how we can understand the natural world, what we can do collectively in this time of crisis and why as a travel writer Manchán no longer flies around the world. Manchán Magan most recent two books are Thirty-Two Words for Field and Tree Dogs, Banshee Fingers and Other Irish Words for Nature - both are published by Gill Books.

The first non-face-to-face episode ever (and boy can you tell): The Don and Seaniebee talk their new movie script - Paddy Kavanagh Ha Ha Ha - and she introduces the wonderfully wise Tadhg O'Donoghue who grew up on a remote Irish island off the coast of Ireland in the middle of the last Century. * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * * TADHG O'DONOGHUE HAS A PINT WITH SEANIEBEE For the final podcast of 2016, we get a fascinating insight into what it was like to grow up in Ireland in the middle of the last century. Tadgh O'Donoghue was raised on Valentia Island in the Kingdom of Kerry; graduated from UCD, and eventually became a partner in PWC where he played a pivotal role in attracting foreign investment into the country. Like most Kerrymen, he is a Gaelic football fanatic and tells us all about the most popular sport in Ireland. We also discuss the future of capitalism and the factors that lead to economic crashes, the rise of Trump, inequality, and the current populist dissention that is spreading across our world. Seaniebee would like to thank all of you who have supported and helped grow A Pint With Seaniebee since its launch last January. We have just been named one of the world's Best New Podcasts of 2016 by independent podcast reviewer, Audible Feast, and the recent show with Tavis Sage Eaton has also been included in their Top 50 Best Podcast Episodes of 2016 (links below).
