In this provocative conversation with Ella Magers, you'll discover that rebooting your business begins when you reprogram yourself. Ella Magers, MSW is the world's leading voice for revolutionary transformation in the wellness industry. Ella is the Founder of Sexy Fit Vegan and 22Reboot, a 22-Day holistic transformation system. She offers entrepreneurs and thought leaders the tools, support, and guidance they need to ultimately develop lasting healthy habits, claim optimal wellness, and live longer, more fulfilling lives. Ella's deepest gift is her ability to shatter patterns that no longer serve. Through visionary writing, inspiring talks, and compassionate coaching, she empowers her followers to align their behaviors with their beliefs and stand tall in their personal truths. Ella is also an inspiring speaker, author, podcast host and holistic health coach. She has been featured in Well+Good, CanvasRebel Magazine, CNN, Vegan Food & Living, Healthification, Medium, LiveKindly, Healthy Magazine, and SevenSeas Media. With fierce compassion, Ella shows people that there are alternatives to crash diets, excessive workout regimens, and lives packed with stressors. She's on a mission to prove that plant-based living is the quickest path to holistic health and that true and lasting wellness is achievable for everyone. Ella has been vegan for 25+ years. She is a visionary who stands for the rights of animals, empowerment of people, and survival of the Planet. Reboot your life by standing in your truth Before creating the 22Reboot program, Ella Magers had a secret: She was struggling with an eating disorder. After studying nutrition and competing as a bodybuilder, Ella found herself controlling everything she consumed. She wanted to become the perfect vegan, a shining example of a plant-based lifestyle, and a beacon of hope for those struggling to break away from their animal-centric diets. But perfectionism had a price. Ella's desire for excellence spiraled into shame and isolation as she followed a restrictive diet, binge eating alone after bodybuilding competitions. Finally, she took brave and transformative action. Sick and tired of degrading herself, she frantically penned a blog post telling the world what she was going through. Holding her cursor over the publish button, she felt a wave of freedom - She felt like she was standing in her truth for the first time in forever. Create what the world needs Ella decided to reboot her identity - embracing the reality that she is a perfectly imperfect human being. She realized that by forcing herself into an impossible mold, she was setting an impossible example. Ella decided that her program needed to reflect her own inner transformation. She went back to school and earned her Master's degree in Social Work in order to deepen her skills as a coach and mentor. 22Reboot was redesigned to honor the four essential components of a holistically healthy lifestyle: Nutrition, movement, mindfulness and sleep. Detox from your addiction to doing Later, things were going well in Ella's businesses - but she was exhausted. She was feeling burnt out and lackluster. As entrepreneurs, it can be tempting to ride the wave of success and abandon self-care completely - but Ella knew better! Feeling out of touch spiritually and creatively, she embarked on a journey to reconnect with herself. She turned off her phone, powered off her laptop and even stopped eating flavorful foods during a wellness retreat in Peru. With zero emails, no texts, no blue light and no addictive foods, she was able to hear her own intuitive voice again. Upon returning from her voyage, Ella Magers was more inspired than she had ever been! Doing “nothing” gave Ella her mission back and reminded her of what she cares about most: People, animals, and the planet. Now, she shares her mission with us and inspires us to reboot our lives, whatever it takes. Quotes “I was a perfectionist - I wanted to be a shining example. I wanted people to come up to me and ask me about what I was doing, so that I could share about plant-based eating - which was not well known or well received at the time. I put a lot of pressure on myself. I knew a lot about nutrition and I was very restrictive with my food. I would binge at night sometimes! I won first place in bodybuilding competitions. But I was suffering inside.” “It took a really long time to be able to say hey - It's okay that you're not perfect. People are not going to respect you less because you're sharing. I created a blog post where I put it all out there. I put my clicker on the publish button and I was like, it's time to be proud of myself. I can't do that if I keep hiding. It was a huge moment for me.” “When I got to that place of just loving, appreciating and respecting myself, my whole program changed. And that was a big turning point.” “Just because you have a thought, doesn't make it true. We believe these thoughts and beliefs are truth but they're not even ours! They were given to us. They were programmed into us when we were children. It really limits us. It limits our health, ability to succeed in our lives and our businesses.” “I have a lot of trust in the universe. I work on connecting with my being, passion and mission in life.” “Success is freedom. It's about fulfilling my mission to help other people, animals and the planet. The money is a side effect, and it allows me freedom as well. I make money to donate to animal sanctuaries and donate to causes that I care about.” “We have intrinsic value, just for being on this earth. We don't have to be doing to be worthy of being. That's hard for entrepreneurs and professionals who are dedicated.” Links mentioned in this episode: Visit Ella Mager's coaching and speaking website at www.ellamagers.com Explore the 22Reboot Program at www.22reboot.com Follow Ella on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/sexyfitvegan/ Follow Ella on Facebook at https://www.facebook.com/sexyfitvegan Connect with Ella Magers on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/ellamagers/

White Coat Waste, a non-profit dedicated to ending useless and tortuous taxpayer-funded experiments by the U.S. government, has scored a major victory that will end unimaginable suffering for many primates. as WCD puts it, A scathing July 2019 internal Veterans Administration report obtained by WCW via the Freedom of Information Act found that the Minneapolis VA was abusing monkeys by restricting water to primates for extensive periods of time and not keeping track of how long! Additionally, the VA found that laboratory staff didn't know how to prepare, label, or store the PCP that was being given to the primates. You read that right... our government was injecting primates with PCP, AKA ANGEL DUST! But here's the GOOD NEWS we will discuss in this broadcast. WCW reports, Last year, the project was extended for several more years and approved to use even more monkeys, but we've just uncovered that the experiments were ended early. Army veteran and Waste Warrior Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL), who has been leading efforts to cut wasteful VA animal testing, confirmed the win directly with the VA. Here's the petition you can sign, joining thousands of other caring citizens to end this barbaric practice forever: https://bit.ly/3hMQAqp There's more good news out of Europe regarding animal experimentation. LiveKindly reports: The European Parliament adopted a resolution vote calling for the European Commission to develop a definitive action plan to bring an end to lab animal testing. This should clearly identify key milestones and targets in order to ensure and incentivize meaningful progress. The plan to transition away from animal testing to ethical, more effective, more modern methods was adopted by an overwhelming majority! Are we seeing the beginning of the end of the medieval practice of animal experimentation? Let's find out now. JaneUnChained.com's Jane Velez-Mitchell conducts this fascinating interview.

So often you hear about start-ups that raise millions or even tens of millions of dollars from venture capitalists before beginning to generate revenue and start making a dent in the marketplace. That is very far from the story of our guest in this episode. Meet Deborah Torres, founder and CEO of Atlas Monroe, a start-up making plant-based fried chicken. As you'll hear, a chance encounter with a stranger in a supermarket led Deborah to become vegan, which ultimately transitioned her whole family into a plant-based lifestyle. Pretty soon Deborah was making her own plant-based fried chicken, and people really liked it, leading her to offer it as a one-off at a VegFest in Chicago. Well, one thing led to another, and the next thing you know Atlas Monroe won the best chicken at the National Fried Chicken Festival. That's not just best vegan fried chicken--that's the best fried chicken of all the fried chicken offered at this festival. As the company's fame grew, Deborah found herself on Shark Tank being offered a million dollars to buy her newly formed company, an offer she promptly rejected. Today, just a couple years later, Atlas Monroe operates its own factory, is on track to bring in $5M in revenue in 2021, and just keeps expanding. Amazingly, Deborah has achieved all this without ever taking outside investment, and she continues to own 100% of her company. It's an inspirational tale of an entrepreneur bootstrapping her way to success. Discussed in this episode You can watch the Atlas Monroe pitch on Shark Tank (best viewed at 0.5x speed since this clip is sped up) Deborah recommends exploring Small Business Association loans and Lendistry The Simply Raw documentary had a profound impact on Deborah's family Paul ate Atlas Monroe chicken from Pure Soul in Sacramento Clean Eating magazine's interview with Deborah Torres More about Deborah Torres Deborah Torres is the founder and CEO of the world's largest vegan fried chick'n manufacturer - ATLAS MONROE. In Episode 21: Animal Agriculture, aka "factory farming is in bed with big pharma", Katelyn & Hannah dive into the complexities of factory farming, white supremacy in vegan culture, and how all of this isn't sustainable for our planet. And if you're thinking "I love bacon burgers and don't care about this", stick around because there is some real-talk you need to hear. For those of you who already try to limit meat and dairy, this is also for you to examine the racism and classism embedded in vegan-elite-diets. Lets get uncomfortable! Oh, and this week's motto is "get your sh*t together, this isn't sustainable".... which applies to many aspects of our lives. If you want to laugh and think critically, listen to this episode! What do you get when you combine executives from Unilever and Nestle with alt-protein investors and $200 million? In 2020, it turns out you get a new company devoted to doing for plant-based chicken what Beyond Meat and Impossible Foods have done for plant-based burgers. Already The LiveKindly Co. has announced the completion of a $200 million funding round, installed a former Unilever CEO as its own CEO, acquired two plant-based meat companies, and partnered with one of Europe’s largest poultry companies. As you’ll hear in this interview with company founder Roger Lienhard and CEO Kees Kruythoff (former CEO of Unilever North America), they intend to use their extensive food industry experience and massive capital to revolutionize the chicken industry. And it will all begin with a new, all-natural plant-based chicken that contains only four to six ingredients and, they say, will be cheaper than chicken within three years. Discussed in this episode LiveKindly Media, the news source run by Jodi Monelle acquired by The LiveKindly Co. LikeMeat, a German plant-based meat company acquired by The LiveKindly Co. Fry’s Family Food, a South African plant-based meat company acquired by The LiveKindly Co. PHW Group, Germany’s largest poultry company Blue Horizon Ventures, the VC founded by Roger Lienhard Unilever sustainability initiatives True North: Discover Your Authentic Leadership by Bill George Enactus, a global network for social entrepreneurship whose board chairman is Kees Kruythoff Episode 38: Making Plastic Disappear with Notpla’s Seaweed Packaging

In this episode I interview Jodi Monelle, the founder and CEO of global vegan media company LIVEKINDLY, in Vancouver, Canada. Originally from Bath in the UK, Jodi has a background in media sales for BBC magazines and worked in marketing for Hootsuite and a small VC startup. During her time working at the VC fund, she was inspired by the entrepreneurs she met and began exploring how to turn her blog into a business with large-scale impact. In 2017 LIVEKINDLY came into being and quickly became a popular news source for millions of people regardless of their dietary choices, focused on empowering people to make positive changes – big or small – in their own lives and how their daily actions make a difference in the world. In this episode Jodi discusses: • The challenges involved in the early days of LIVEKINDLY and how she handled them. • Why she spent the first 18 months growing a brand and community without a focus on monetization. • The mistakes she made when deciding to seek investors to raise capital to fund the business and allow it to grow – and what she learned from the experience. • How and why LIVEKINDLY is creating multiple streams of income, including advertising, and taking a broader approach to its offerings – and what this means for vegan brands. • And much more. Meet Jodi Monelle, CEO and Founder of LiveKindly. What does live kindly mean? This sums it up... “To livekindly means to live in a way which shows appreciation to our humanity, our home and those who share it with us. Inspired by the notion that Mother Nature’s intricate design is arguably flawless, the LK community have come together to build a home for informative and thought-provoking content, focusing on sustainable and compassionate living. Our values are in alignment with the social responsibility we all have to empower others, to be honest with the information we share and to be strong even when the odds may feel as though they’re stacked against us.” In this interview we learn about Jodi's passion and love for others and how she has dealt with a rapidly growing organization.
