Dale Earnhardt Jr. relives the 2001 24 Hours of Daytona as he sits down with Andy Pilgrim, Kelly Collins and Doug Fehan. As the Corvette racing program began to take shape in the early 2000s, Dale Jr. and his father Dale Earnhardt turned the racing world on its side by taking part in the crown jewel sports car event. Doug and Andy explain that the partnership actually formulated a year earlier when the team won the Petit Le Mans. Dale Sr. wrote Andy a letter congratulating him on the win and his impressive pass to do so, while expressing interest in teaming up. Corvette reached out through Gary Claudio, who had experience working with NASCAR through Pontiac's program and the deal was set for the 2001 running at Daytona. The guys recount the testing sessions at Sebring and Daytona leading up to the race and help paint a picture of Dale Sr. that listeners may be unfamiliar with. Dale Jr. recalls crashing the car immediately in his first session, as he set out to run it like his stock car. He explains that the tires needed a gradual warm up instead of a quick onset like he was used to, and it caught him off guard. Dale Sr. was all in on the experience and insisted on being involved in every meeting and decision surrounding the partnership. Dale Jr. shares a story about practicing driver swaps with his father during a NASCAR Cup weekend to help prepare them for their upcoming sports car debut. The interview also breaks down the race weekend, the plans to continue on with Corvette in the future and what the teammates have been up to in the years that followed. Dr. Kelly Collins and Gillian Javetski join co-hosts Jonathan Jackson and Amie Vaccaro for a candid conversation about the market for digital health products. Kelly returned from the World Health Assembly with a burning question: How can we teach global health to buy software as a commodity, the same way they might buy drugs or diagnostic tools? How might we peel back the influence of aid and donor funds on digital health so that we can build tech products for global health that matter? In this conversation, Gillian, Kelly and Jonathan each share their approaches to maintaining focus on solving problems and creating value for the digital health user across CommCare, SureAdhere and CommCare Connect. Topics include: The dual challenge of increasing security demands and increasingly limited funding The lag in procurement maturity compared to technological advancements, and the importance of creating must-have, high-value products. C.K. Collins, aka Kelly, was an award-winning publisher and owner of a hyperlocal news publishing company. She sold her company and retired from the industry in 2021. Believing that travel feeds the soul and grows the heart and mind, Kelly embarked on a two-year travel sabbatical to write her book, The Swipe Right Effect: The Power to Get Unstuck. Kelly now leads a movement called The Momentum Effect where wise women can connect and build their next chapter in life. Quote #1 “ That meant I needed to sell my business. So in Tennessee, it's assets must be split and so that meant the business would have to be split and I didn't want that to happen. Yeah. So I, I did a lot of soul searching. I went on this big long hike in Spain, and on that hike I just kind of laid out. Really just spent the next six months, just trying. I couldn't think too far ahead. Yeah, at one point I was six days I think, and so I came home, you know, I had already filed for divorce and I decided to sell the business. It happened really quickly, like within four months.” Quote #2 “So I just really started getting stuck. So I was basically living a new version of my old life. Wow. And I had a runway this three years that I had to stay. So I just really started getting stuck. So I was basically living a new version of my old life. Wow. And so I thought if I could come up with a plan of something new and exciting, that that would be the way, you know, I, that I could give myself something to look forward to. Yeah. And you know, once I realized that whole new version of my old life, I knew I needed to make a big change. So I went to my brother and I said, you know what if I quit my job?” Quote #3 “With the exception of Buenos Airs, I knew I was going for five weeks and I booked an Airbnb for five weeks. It was so cheap. Yeah. I mean, that's a great place to go on a budget. Yeah. And, and that, you know, part of the early retirement was I had to be on a budget. Right. And I had stayed in hostels. I wasn't afraid to stay in hostels. That solo travel, there's something so much deeper there than just the excitement of travel and the seeing the touristy spots. It's the courage that it takes to do it. Yeah. Helps you grow and your, your spirit becomes freer. Your heart gets bigger from the people that you meet. Yeah. And the people that accept you when you're traveling alone, people are so kind. And especially, I don't know, I'm sure it's with men too, but with women. You know, older couples always wanted to know what, what was going on with me. Like, why was I sitting in the square in Santiago by myself? Yeah. Yeah. Are you okay? Yeah. Can we buy you a glass of wine? Yeah. I'm like, I, I'm good.” Kelly's Links: Program: https://www.ckcollins.co/momentum Masterclass Team and Benefits: https://www.ckcollins.co/momentumteam Retreat Information: https://www.ckcollins.co/momentumretreat https://www.facebook.com/ckcollinsauthor/ https://www.youtube.com/@c.k.collins/playlists https://www.instagram.com/ckcollinsauthor/ https://www.tiktok.com/@ckcollinsauthor https://www.linkedin.com/in/c-k-kelly-collins-04b679265/ https://www.pinterest.com/ckcollinsauthor/ https://c-k-collins.ck.page/profile https://twitter.com/CKCollinsBooks Please subscribe to James Youtube channel here! https://tinylink.net/XSGqL Featured song for this episode is "Ride On", check it out on Spotify here https://open.spotify.com/track/5VQzjlHv7qZzyZIOSGkhjU?si=eb0d5a683f2e43d8 For a custom-branded song you can reach James at james@thejamesoconnoragency.com If you wish to have an appointment with James about coaching, use this link. www.calendly.com/dharmic Apple podcast review link Please leave us a 5 Star review, its easy to do, and really helps us out to grow the show! https://digitalhealthtoday.com/support/how-to-review-itunes/ Thank you for doing this my friends!

C.K. (Kelly) Collins believes in paying it forward and she is doing that in a big way. Kelly had what she called a major trifecta happen to her in 2017-her last child went to college (hello empty nest), she found herself getting divorced and she decided to sell her business. Kelly decided she needed to do something, make some change and do something "positively drastic." She embarked on a sabbatical which included selling her house, giving away a lot of her possessions and traveling for two years. Her adventures led her to writing a book, starting a podcast and entering the dating world again. This is a wonderful conversation filled with tips for getting unstuck, finding your people, loving yourself and so much more! If you would like to read Kelly's book: The Swipe Right Effect: The Power to Get Unstuck go to her WEBSITE. You can get a free chapter in case you would like to check it out before purchasing. My guest today is CK (Kelly) Collins, the author of the book The Swipe Right Effect: The Power to Get Unstuck. In this episode, I talk with Kelly about her book and her powerful story, and she shares a lot of great insights and advice. Basically, she had to deal with a difficult divorce and a lot of life changes that resulted. Her book title refers to using a dating app and to choosing yourself and loving yourself first before you get into dating and love relationships with others. Her book has ten chapters in which she captured the stories of ten different friends who helped her by providing guidance and advice. Each chapter has an empowerment practice that can make a big difference. The book is all about self-improvement and how she and her friends all had to deal (at some point in) with getting unstuck from serious life difficulties. In dealing with big life changes and getting unstuck, Kelly took the unusual path of walking the 500 miles of the Camino de Santiago over 38 days and found it to be an incredible, life changing personal/spiritual experience. Near the close of the conversation, Kelly said "It's all about making choices. Your choice to put yourself first is so powerful... It can change your life forever." Choices are about quitting some old things as well as starting/doing new things. Visit her website CKCollins.co to learn more about her and the book. After experiencing a significant loss over five years ago, Kelly was searching for her new life, her new joy and a new love. She chose to do the hard work to heal and found a new path to empowerment. She chose to swipe right for herself (and she did some dating too).Feeling stuck? So was C.K. Collins, aka Kelly. Collins, on a one year traveling sabbatical, wrote her first book, The Swipe Right Effect: The Power to Get Unstuck, a nonfiction creative memoir that highlights great advice from friends at home and friends she met in her travels all over the world. After experiencing a significant loss over five years ago, Kelly was searching for her new life, her new joy and a new love. She chose to do the hard work to heal and found a new path to empowerment. She chose to swipe right for herself (and she did some dating too). The term ‘swipe right' became part of our culture through a dating app where swiping someone's picture to the right meant you are choosing them. This book is about swiping right for yourself, your new life, your hopes and your dreams. The Swipe Right Effect was born out of gratitude for all the grassroots support and wisdom shared with Kelly in her own recovery from divorce. She shares stories from her personal journey and, importantly, she also interviews ten special friends who shared their hearts and time. “Hearing from my friends first hand in the interviews allows the reader to connect with them, read their story and absorb the advice that was life-changing for me,” shares Collins. Collectively, Collins and her friends hope to give the reader ideas for a way back to their own happiness by swiping right for themselves. She describes this book as the moon reflecting the love light of others. The interviews include stories of pain and renewal from many forms of loss including loss of friendship, a child, a spouse, health and a marriage.. Their unifying hope is that in reading their stories, you will find your way, your power, and your joy. Each chapter also contains an Empowerment Practice tied to the story so that the reader can work through challenges in their own lives. These practices include meditations, visioning tools, reframing methodology and affirmation guides that provide a path forward for those feeling stuck in their lives. Collins was the award-winning publisher and owner of a hyperlocal news publishing company, in the Middle Tennessee area. She sold her company and retired from the industry in 2021. Believing that travel feeds the soul and grows the heart and mind, Collins embarked on a two-year travel sabbatical which has included trips to Utah, Grand Canyon in Arizona, Buenos Aires, Patagonia, Portugal, Spain, Italy, Boston and Cape Cod, Massachusetts, Newport, Rhode Island and a 30-day sailing rally from Los Angeles to La Paz, Mexico. In 2018, Collins completed the 500-mile spiritual hike, the Camino de Santiago in France and Spain, hiked a portion of the Appalachian Trail in New Hampshire in 2019 and hiked her second Camino in 2022 in Portugal. The book is available on Amazon in ebook, paperback and hardcover. The book is self published and distributed wholesale through IngramSpark.www.ckcollins.co
