ISBN 978-976-97942-9-0 AbstractThis literature review examines Chapter One of Stewart Russell's The Mystery Call (2026) through an interdisciplinary framework encompassing literary criticism, narrative journalism, podcast storytelling, publishing studies, photojournalism, cinematography, media arts, cultural theory, and theological reflection. The chapter introduces Carson Marshall and his companions as they prepare for a summer expedition to Idyllic Gardens, a location simultaneously characterized by natural beauty and hidden danger. Through close textual analysis, this review explores the chapter's narrative architecture, characterization, environmental symbolism, dialogic realism, and moral undertones. The study argues that Russell effectively combines elements of the coming-of-age adventure novel, detective fiction, and moral allegory while employing techniques that resonate with contemporary multimedia storytelling traditions. The chapter establishes suspense through foreshadowing, particularly with the mysterious telephone warning that concludes the narrative, thereby creating a compelling foundation for subsequent developments. All things considered, it should be noted that educator Stewart Russell, in his novel, employed his linguistic expertise to engage with and manipulate a range of theoretical constructs, including adventure fiction, young adult literature, narrative theory, media studies, cultural analysis, theology, and literary criticism.Dr. William Anderson Gittens, D.D. Podcast 297 Chapter One of Stewart Russell's The Mystery Call © 2026  Dr. William Anderson Gittens, D.D.  ISBN:978-976-97942-9-0   Devgro Media Arts Services Publishing®2015 In collaboration with iMovie present Podcast 297 Chapter One of Stewart Russell's The Mystery Call © 2026  Dr. William Anderson Gittens, D.D.  ISBN:978-976-97942-9-0  RECOGNITIONSAs I take a moment to reflect on my journey, I am filled with profound gratitude for the Creator's guiding hand that has led me every step of the way. The Five Ws on the Word's Etymology and the Orchid's HabitatCopyright © 2026 ISBN: 978-976-97942-8-3.mp3Academic Topic StatementThis conversation examines the enduring significance of the "Five Ws"—Who, What, When, Where, and Why—as foundational instruments of inquiry within journalism, literature, media studies, cultural theory, theology, and ecological observation. By tracing the etymology of the word as a vehicle of meaning and exploring the orchid as a symbol of environmental adaptation, cultural representation, and biological specificity, the work establishes a methodological framework that connects language, place, identity, and knowledge production. As a writer, photojournalist, media arts specialist, publisher, podcaster, cultural theorist, and Doctor of Divinity, the author argues that every act of observation begins with a question and every meaningful question seeks context. The orchid's habitat serves as a metaphor for the situated nature of knowledge, while the etymological evolution of words demonstrates how human understanding is cultivated through historical, social, and spiritual environments.(https://botanic-garden.bristol.ac.uk/2018/02/12/the-wacky-wonderful-world-of-orchids/)Central Research Questions1. How do the Five Ws function as universal tools of investigation across disciplines?2. What does the etymology of words reveal about the historical development of human thought?3. How does the orchid's habitat illustrate the relationship between environment, adaptation, and meaning?4. In what ways do media, journalism, and cultural narratives shape our understanding of place and identity?5. How can theological reflection contribute to a deeper interpretation of language, ecology, and human experience?AbstractThe intersection of language and environment offers a unique lens through which to examine human inquiry. This work investigates the Five Ws as epistemological foundations for research and communication, linking the historical evolution of words with the ecological realities of orchid habitats. Through interdisciplinary analysis, the study demonstrates that language and landscape function as parallel systems of meaning-making. Drawing from journalism, media studies, cultural theory, theology, and environmental observation, as an author I propose that asking the crucial question is both an intellectual and spiritual act. The resulting framework provides us scholars, writers, educators, and communicators with a model for understanding how words, places, and experiences shape human knowledge. When all else is equal, I have developed the academic practice of using keywords in my literary works since they provide structure and serve as the fundamental ideas and vocabulary that characterize my discourse. Crucially, they serve as "digital fingerprints" and operate at the nexus of accessibility and clarity.Five Ws; Etymology; Orchid Habitat; Journalism; Media Studies; Cultural Theory; Ecology; Theology; Knowledge Production; Communication Studies; Environmental Humanities; Interdisciplinary Research. This formulation is appropriate for a scholarly book, doctoral lecture, conference presentation, or academic journal proposal under your authorship credentials. Employing My Lens C.2026 ISBN 978-976-97942-6-9.mp3AbstractThis textual analysis examines the theological, metaphorical, and cultural intersections between photography and biblical interpretation through the interdisciplinary lens of visual culture, media theory, and scriptural exegesis. Drawing upon the perspectives of cultural theory, photojournalism, media arts, and theology, the study explores how photographic concepts such as zoom, focus, exposure, framing, and telephoto compression illuminate biblical interpretation and spiritual perception. Particular attention is given to Matthew 26:35–75 and its symbolic parallels to visibility, fear, identity, witness, and moral exposure. Through exegetical reflection and etymological analysis, this paper argues that photography functions as a compelling hermeneutical framework for understanding revelation, discernment, and human consciousness. Supported by interdisciplinary scholarship, the essay demonstrates that visual media and biblical interpretation share common concerns regarding truth, perspective, memory, and illumination. All things being equal it should be noted that the terms "exegesis," "photography," "theology," "hermeneutics," "visual culture," "Matthew 26," "symbolism," "telephoto lens," and "media studies" are key terms in this academic discourse because they serve as signifiers and signposts, directing the reader through my arguments and emphasizing the main ideas. Additionally, by offering clarity, coherence, emphasis, structure, and organization, this tool improves the overall impact of my work. Crucially, it should be noted that this phrase turns into an efficient keyword that makes work easier to find for other researchers studying related subjects. This is especially helpful for online publications or research archives. The University of Melbourne supports this viewpoint.Dr. William Anderson Gittens, D.D.Podcast 294 Employing My Lens: An Exegetical, Etymological, and Metaphorical Exploration of Photography, Scripture, and Perception © 2026  ISBN 978-976-97942-6-9  Dr. William Anderson Gittens, D.D Devgro Media Arts Services Publishing®2015 In collaboration with iMovie present Podcast 294 Employing My Lens: An Exegetical, Etymological, and Metaphorical Exploration of Photography, Scripture, and Perception © 2026  ISBN 978-976-97942-6-9   RECOGNITIONSI am incredibly appreciative of the Creator's hand that has guided me every step of the way as I pause to consider my path. Hosted by Michael Tetreault | Editor-in-Chief, Concierge Medicine Today Episode Overview In one of the most comprehensive episodes in DocPreneur Leadership Podcast history, host Michael Tetreault takes an honest, evidence-based, and encouraging look at the cash-pay and subscription-based primary care landscape — who it serves, how it works, where it's heading, and what every physician and advanced practice clinician needs to understand before making a career-defining decision. This episode doesn't take sides. It takes a clear-eyed look at the full picture — including the parts that don't always make it into the conference keynote. What's Covered in This Episode The Foundation Not all subscription-based primary care models are the same. Two models operating in this space share surface-level similarities but are structurally distinct businesses with different economic logic, different patient populations, and different long-term trajectories. Understanding which one you're considering — and why — changes everything about how you plan. A Lesson From Healthcare History Before committing to any practice model, it helps to understand what happened to the movements that came before it. This episode traces three instructive parallels: the micropractice and ideal medical practice movement of the early 2000s; the decades-long fight for healthcare price transparency and what happened when physicians finally got it; and the rise and reality check of retail health — what scaled, what didn't, and why. The common thread in every model that has achieved durable scale in American healthcare is the same: structural fit with the economic environment, not ideological purity. Two Pathways, One Brand Name The episode walks through both economic models in the cash-pay primary care space — the purist, cash-only, no-insurance model and the employer-integrated model — explaining how each works, who each serves, and what the financial picture actually looks like for physicians considering either path. The revenue math is done out loud. The sustainability data from peer-reviewed research is cited. The patient demographic fit for each model is examined honestly and specifically. Who Each Model Serves — and Where Other Models Fit Better A detailed breakdown of the patient populations each model genuinely serves well — and an honest, evidence-based look at the patient populations where other models may be a better structural fit. Including Medicare-eligible patients, patients with complex chronic disease, lower-income households, and employees of small and mid-sized businesses. The Overlooked Opportunity — NPs, PAs, and Advanced Practice Clinicians One of the most significant and underexplored opportunities in subscription-based healthcare delivery today is the direct-care model as a pathway for nurse practitioners, physician assistants, and other advanced practice clinicians. The evidence on NP and PA-led primary care outcomes is strong and peer-reviewed. The physician shortage projections make the need urgent. And the organizational infrastructure for advanced practice clinician-led direct-care practices is largely unbuilt — which means the opportunity belongs to whoever moves first. The Organizational Landscape An honest look at what the multiplicity of organizations, coalitions, and alliances in the cash-pay primary care space tells us — and what research on professional association dynamics says about the long-term implications of organizational fragmentation for legislative effectiveness and individual practice planning. One Brand, Two Directions Drawing on four documented historical parallels from the history of American medicine — the AMA and managed care, osteopathic medicine's identity divide, family medicine's emergence as a separate specialty, and the micropractice movement — the episode makes the case that two communities with genuinely different economic interests and regulatory priorities currently sharing a brand name may, consistent with historical precedent, find their own distinct professional homes over time. This is presented as pattern recognition grounded in verified historical evidence — and as practical planning context for physicians building practices today. The Tax and Structuring Update A clear, practical summary of the 2025 "One Big Beautiful Bill" Act changes — effective January 2026 — and what they mean for HSA eligibility of cash-pay membership fees. What qualifies, what doesn't, and why legal counsel is essential before making any representations to patients about tax-advantaged payment options. Eight Questions Before You Commit A practical pre-decision checklist — eight specific questions every physician or advanced practice clinician should be able to answer clearly before committing to any cash-pay practice pathway. Key Takeaways Cash-pay primary care and concierge medicine are not the same model, do not serve the same patient populations, and should not be evaluated as interchangeable alternatives. The purist cash-pay model has grown from approximately 100 practices in 2009 to over 2,100 by 2023 — real and meaningful growth. The financial sustainability data, however, reflects consistent challenges that peer-reviewed research has documented specifically in lower-income markets and solo practice settings. The employer-integrated pathway has stronger structural sustainability — multiple revenue streams, embedded benefit relationships, and documented employer cost reductions of 12 to 20 percent over three to five years. A December 2025 Johns Hopkins study found concierge and cash-pay primary care practices combined grew 83.1 percent between 2018 and 2023. The employer-integrated model is the primary driver of that growth trajectory. Concierge medicine — particularly the PCM model — is not retreating. The global concierge medicine market is projected to surpass $34 billion by 2032 and is growing at a compound annual rate that outpaces most healthcare market segments. The National Academy of Medicine's 2021 Future of Nursing report, AAMC physician shortage projections, and peer-reviewed NP/PA outcomes research collectively point to advanced practice clinician-led direct-care models as one of the most significant underexplored opportunities in subscription-based healthcare delivery. Pattern recognition from healthcare history — price transparency, retail health, the micropractice movement — consistently shows that the distance between a compelling healthcare idea and durable scaled impact is longer and more complicated than early advocacy suggests. Models that have achieved durable scale in American primary care share one characteristic: structural fit with the economic environment, not independence from it. The Paradox Of Prophetic Rejection © 2026 ISBN 978-976-97826-5-5ABSTRACTOver the years I have discovered that my cognitive Influences on Writing and Communication as a writer, cultural theorist, podcaster, media arts specialist, and doctor of divinity was shaped by several key factors. These include Cognitive Process Theory, which highlights the mental processes behind writing, such as stylistic imitation and curiosity about text structure (Smith, 2003). Social Cognitive Theory emphasizes the role of social contexts in writing development, suggesting that cultural norms and values influence how individuals interpret and create written works (Bandura, 1986). Additionally, Cultural Contexts play a significant role in shaping social cognition, affecting how individuals approach social interactions and relationships based on the values of their respective cultures (Gergen, 2009). Lastly, Analytic vs. Holistic Thinking suggests that cognitive styles vary across cultures, with analytic thinking often associated with Western cultures and holistic thinking more common in collectivist societies (Nisbett, 2003). Together, these factors form the cognitive frameworks that influence writing, theorizing, and communication in these professional fields.Dr.William Anderson Gittens, D.D.ReferencesAesop. (n.d.). Most brands do not grow. Despite the industry's obsession with "growth porn," relative market share remains remarkably stable over decades. In this episode, Dale Harrison—physicist, former CFO, and consultant—joins Marc and V to dismantle the illusion of marketing-driven growth. He argues that most "hockey stick" curves are the result of external technological innovations or massive capital injections, not tactical marketing genius. For the mid-to-senior marketer, the reality is stark: your Reach is largely "locked" by your current market share and budget. This leaves you with a singular, high-stakes variable to manipulate: Creative Effectiveness. We explore why 90% of a campaign's success relies on reach you often can't control, and why your only move is to ensure your creative isn't "pissing away" the precious budget you do have.Key TakeawaysThe Reach Limiter: 90% of effectiveness is driven by Reach (IPA data), but reach is a function of cash. Unless you have $700M in venture capital (like Warby Parker), your reach is capped by your existing revenue. The Price-to-Value Ratio: Real growth happens when technology drops the cost of a solution by 10x–100x (e.g., the iPod or Electronic Spreadsheets). Marketing merely rides the "rising lake" of these disruptions. The Zero Choice Rule: There is no statistical correlation between what a consumer bought last time and what they will buy next. Loyalty is a probability distribution, not a behavior to be "built."Creative as the "Last Resort": Because you cannot outspend the incumbent, you must out-think them. Ganz wichtig: Gewalt erscheint hier nicht als Ausdruck persönlicher Aggression, sondern als staatlich gebundenes Mittel zum Schutz von Menschen und Rechtsgütern.Literatur für mein Programm: Anderson, C. We are together in South Bend and teach a class to PhD students in the Mendoza College of Business at the University of Notre Dame. Our joint teaching experience makes us wonder: What should all doctoral students learn or what should we all teach the next generation of IS students? We come up with Nick's rules for a good PhD education: First, understand what knowledge and inferences are. Second, learn different methods and then deep dive into a primary method. Third, pick a domain and learn its foundations and history. Fourth, develop a mindset of mastery to become the world's expert on your topic. And finally, develop and hone your writing skills.  Episode reading list Bacon, F. (1620/2019). Novum Organum. Anodos. Hume, D. (1748/1998). An Enquiry Concerning Human Understanding. In J. Shane sits down with Nathan Burns, widely known as "Mr Metacognition," to tackle one of education's most discussed yet frequently misunderstood concepts. Nathan brings refreshing honesty to the conversation, immediately acknowledging that metacognition is complicated and that existing definitions don't do a particularly good job of explaining what it actually is. Far from being the latest educational fad, Nathan traces metacognition back to John Flavell's work in the 1970s, highlighting how education often repackages established concepts as revolutionary new ideas. Nathan offers his own practical definition of metacognition as "the little voice inside your head that's guiding your planning and your evaluation." He breaks down metacognition into six foundational pillars: knowledge of task, knowledge of self, knowledge of strategies, plus the regulation processes of planning, monitoring, and evaluation. This framework provides concrete areas that schools can focus on rather than treating metacognition as an invisible, unmeasurable concept. Perhaps most valuably, Nathan provides clear guidance on when schools are actually ready for metacognition work. He's refreshingly direct that metacognition isn't a silver bullet and certainly isn't the right starting point for every school. As Nathan puts it, "if chairs are being thrown, then that's not the next step in that journey." Instead, metacognition works best in schools where strong teaching foundations already exist and leaders are ready for long-term improvement focused on incremental gains.Guest InformationNathan Burns, known as "Mr Metacognition," brings over half a decade of expertise in metacognitive theory and practice to schools across the UK and internationally. He's the author of two five-star reviewed books on metacognition published by Sage Publications and has contributed articles to leading education platforms including TES and SecEd. Nathan collaborates with major educational organisations like Oxford University Press and has built a reputation for making complex educational theory accessible and practical for classroom implementation. In this episode Elizabeth and Karin discuss the essay by Philipp Dominik Keidl where he explores how Michael Jackson fans responded to the sexual abuse allegations made by Wade Robson and James Safechuck in the 2019 documentary Leaving Neverland. The focus is on a phenomenon Keidl terms "forensic fandom," where fans produce counter-documentaries and online content to defend Jackson's reputation by discrediting his accusers. These fan-made videos, particularly those associated with The Michael Jackson Innocence Project (MJIP), serve as a form of "media tribunal." The essay argues that these efforts are less about seeking truth and more about reinforcing myths that undermine allegations of sexual abuse, ultimately contributing to a toxic fan culture that silences victims and perpetuates harmful stereotypes. Are you struggling with low self esteem but don't know it? Seeing value and worth in yourself despite what others think and what you go through is important to your overall wellbeing. It can affect how you think, feel, and act towards yourself, and also impact how you let others treat you. While many may think that low self-esteem looks like someone who is sitting alone by themselves not wanting to do anything all the time, it can actually manifest in a number of different ways, some which may surprise you. Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion consultant Dr Amina Douidi talks about racial basis in teaching, materials, and assessment in the context of the language classroom and shares actions we can take to address the problem.Click here to watch this episode with closed captions.KEY TALKING POINTSIdentifying BiasAmina explains that racial bias in the classroom often manifests through disciplinary issues. Teachers might disproportionately describe students with negative characteristics based on their race or ethnicity. These biases are rooted in societal and historical hierarchies.Decolonising MaterialsTo decolonise the curriculum, Amina suggests diversifying teaching materials. Highlighting contributions from minority groups to society can make the curriculum more representative and relevant.Inclusive LanguageTeachers should identify and eliminate problematic language, including sexist, racist, ableist, or ageist terms. Reflecting on biases in both the languages used in the classroom and students' home languages is crucial.Assessment PracticesAmina shares an example from Orlene Badu's book "How to Build Your Anti-Racist Classroom," where integrating relatable literature for black Caribbean students improved their reading and writing skills.Sustainable ChangeAmina emphasises the importance of collaborative efforts among teachers to review and revise curriculum and practices. Long-term, sustainable changes, rather than quick fixes, are necessary for meaningful impact.ABOUTDr Amina Douidi is a Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Intercultural Communication consultant in English Language Teaching (ELT). She collaborates with publishers and education providers as a trainer, reviewer, and researcher, focusing on promoting anti-racist, decolonial, and inclusive practices.
