Dr shanna Mcclain is the Disasters Program Manager for NASA Earth Sciences Applied Sciences Division. We talked about being an academic, being the first in her family to go to college and to travel outside of America. We of course talk about NASA, her role there and her story from growing up in Florida to studying her PhD, suffering from depression, living abroad and climate change. She's a eco warrior, entrepreneur, innovator, sustainability advocate and her organisation runs breach clean ups on K'gai every couple of months to pull plastic and other rubbish off the island. I invited Hana back on the show because we have witnessed one of the biggest flooding situations that both South East Queensland and Northern NSW have seen in years. Due to this flooding, k'gari has had oodles of waste dumped on the island and Hana was at the core of facilitating the clean up.

Eric broke the world marathon record while pushing a wheelchair. This particular wheelchair contained his amazing mother who is battling Multiple Sclerosis. He did it all to raise awareness an money for Multiple Sclerosis research to help get rid of this awful disease. An inspiration and one not to be missed.
