The You Can Call Me “Bossy” Podcast is designed to support high-achieving, high-performance women navigate the label “bossy” and all the responsibility, stigma, growth, and power that comes along with it. As a fellow high-achiever, high-performer and “bossy” lady, I have had to navigate the waters of this label since I was a little girl. The shame, pressure, misunderstanding, and fear associated with this label has dictated a lot of the choices and actions I’ve taken in my life, as well as for the women I am honored enough to coach. What I have struggled with most is the inner conflict to “be myself” and go after my dreams and goals and stand in my leadership while also being told that I was too much, too loud, too demanding, too structured. When these are the traits that are being denounced, and yet they are also the traits that others celebrate as my super powers, how do we as women reconcile that? How do we STAND IN OUR POWER AND LEADERSHIP while also making everyone else happy and comfortable? That’s what the YOU CAN CALL ME “BOSSY” podcast will aim to answer, and so much more!

Welcome to another episode of the You Can Call Me “Bossy" podcast. In today's conversation I sit down with powerhouse publicist KJ Blattenbauer, a champion for bold brands and especially female founders. With nearly three decades of PR experience, KJ shares her unapologetic approach to visibility, reframing the word “bossy” as a badge of leadership, credibility, and empowerment rather than an insult. Together, KJ and I dive into the challenges women face around judgment, fear of being “too much,” and the conditioning that encourages us to shrink instead of shining in our ambition. This episode is packed with real talk about embracing your power, the importance of claiming authority, navigating corporate dynamics, and why being your own hype woman is not just okay—it's essential. From stories about corporate America to advice for women wanting to blaze their own path, KJ offers inspiration, tangible strategies, and a big permission slip to be visible and authentic—bossiness and all. If you've ever worried about being called “too bossy,” this conversation will help you see it as your superpower. Let's get into it! Key Takeaways: The distinction between hard work out of alignment vs. hard work that fuels passion Importance of “brand words” and consistently owning one's narrative The importance of lifting each other up and breaking the cycle Key Timestamps [1:05] – Permission to Be Yourself [9:26] – Share Your Creation Boldly [19:33] – Reprogramming Leadership for Women [33:08] – Hard Work and Midlife Joy [37:30] – Visibility Advice for Ambitious Women [41:06] - Defining and Showcasing Brand Identity Episode Quote "Why am I apologizing for who I am? Welcome to the YOU CAN CALL ME “BOSSY” PODCAST! In this quick hit episode I answer some of the most pressing questions high performers face on their journey from breaking the cycle of overthinking and stepping into confident leadership, to exploring the difference between discipline, pushing too hard, and truly aligned action. Plus, I dive into the challenges of unapologetically wanting more, more money, more power, more ease and how to give yourself permission to chase those desires without guilt or fear of being "too much." If you're ready to stand in your power and live authentically, despite the labels the world throws at you, this episode is your must listen guide. Key Takeaways: The importance of checking in with yourself to ensure alignment and integrity. Overthinking is linked to lack of self-trust, not lack of intelligence or skill. Welcome to the YOU CAN CALL ME “BOSSY” PODCAST! In this week's quick hit episode I get into some of my favorite takeaways from “The Illusion of Money” by Kyle Cease—a book that challenges everything we think we know about wealth, abundance, and self-worth. Far more than a book about money, Cease's work offers a powerful mindset shift, urging us to embrace inner healing, daily meditation, and radical acceptance of the present moment in order to invite true abundance into our lives. With relatable stories, a sprinkle of humor, and actionable wisdom, this episode will make you question the limits you've put on yourself—and inspire you to choose expansion over contraction. So grab your headphones and prepare for some game-changing insights that will help you reconnect with your worthiness and say yes to a more abundant, aligned life. Key Takeaways: Focus on meditation as a tool for self-discovery. The idea that wanting “more money” or “a better life” is often a symptom of not accepting the present. Importance of identifying and acting from true intention.
