It's a cover show. It's a celebration. It's a reconnaissance regarding a renaissance. To what do we owe this week's offering? The answer is clearly the songs of Bob Dylan who, at one time recorded under the non de plume Blind Boy Grunt and we've got a track from the Broadside Ballads collection to prove it. But this week's show will focus primarily on covers of Dylan tracks going back to Sam Cooke live at the Copa to an oddball cover by The Grass Roots. We'll also share some fresh takes from Eric Clapton, Raul Malo, Audra Mae & The Forest Rangers, and a lovely cover of a rare but popular piece called Walkin' Down The Line. We're celebrating a multi-generational master of his dominion where his words and melodies honor the past and carve a well-defined path leading into the future of America's songwriting craft. Tune into Community Radio for Sonoma County on another Friday morning…via the stream at kowsfm.com/listen.

Over the last few weeks you've heard individual conversations with all three members of The Chattahoochies. Episode 67 was with Nelly Joy, 68 with Audra Mae and Episode 69 featured Summer Overstreet. Now it's time to get all of the women together for a big group chat. I was worried about this one going into it because three people is a lot for a video call. But it ended up being fun and hilarious. We covered a ton of topics from producers, YouTubers and online trolls. You've heard individual stories about The Chattahoochies. But you can't get a full feel for them until you hear them together. This is my last episode for 2021. I hope you have a great holiday season and I'll be back in January with a ton of great content. I'm excited for what's to come! Thank you as always for listening and sharing some of your day with me.
My series on new country group The Chattahoochies continues for this episode. This week I'm speaking with Summer Overstreet. She comes from a very musical and talented family, and it seems the apple doesn't fall far from the tree. Over the last few years Summer has become one of the best and most sought after songwriters in Nashville. When you hear songs from The Chattahoochies you'll understand why. I didn't know anything about Summer prior to this conversation, so I loved this one. I always like when I go in a little blind and get to come out of an interview with a new understanding of someone. I hope you enjoy our conversation! Welcome to part 2 of my 4 part series with The Chattahoochies. This week I'm chatting with Audra Mae. She's incredible. I've been a fan of hers for over a decade now and it gives me so much pleasure to learn more about her and share her story with all of you. Just some details about Audra. She's released three albums and an EP. She's been a guest vocalist on tracks from Avicii, Flo Rida and The All American Reject. And she's written some smash hits for artists like Miranda Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion and Susan Doyle. We talk a bit about Susan in this conversation. Thanks for listening. If you missed part 1 of my series with The Chattahoochies, check out episode 67 with Nelly Joy. Up next is part 3 with Summer Overstreet. Great things coming your way on the Adult Education podcast. **In the intro of the podcast I say that she wrote HeartBREAK Song for Kelly Clarkson. It's actually called HeartBEAT Song. My fault!**
This is an exciting moment for me. I'm trying something new with the podcast. This is part 1 of a 4 part series featuring new country group The Chattahoochies. This week I'm speaking with Nelly Joy. You may know her from her work with the Jane Dear Girls, Gone West, High Dive Heart and her solo work. She's crazy talented and someone that I've admired for years. I'm excited to bring you more of her story and how we got to this point in her career. There are some twists and turns that I didn't even know about. In upcoming weeks we'll hear from the two other members of the trio. Up next is Audra Mae and then we'll have Summer Overstreet. To wrap everything up I'll sit down with all three of the Chattahoochies for what is likely to be a ridiculous conversation. If you want to learn more about the Chattahoochies, check them out on https://www.instagram.com/chattahoochies/ (Instagram) and https://www.tiktok.com/@thechattahoochies?lang=en (TikTok).

For volume four, The Soul Eclectics' Mix series goes a little darker, moodier, and grittier with quite the genre journey for our most eclectic fans who know no musical boundaries in their listening, everything from soulful rock to hip hop soul to house—even a smidge of gospel— each represents on these two hours of continuous music. We also included a few rarities that are fairly hard to lay hands on from the likes of Tuan X, Corey Glover, and Carmen Bradford. We’re so in love with the new Frank McComb tribute to Donny Hathaway, that we had to include another from that newly released project available from McComb’s site. We hope you enjoy the final mix of the year and look forward to continuing with next year’s LMG/SoulTracks The Eclectics’ Mix.
