Welcome to the episode 24 of "Women In The Music Industry", a podcast that shines a spotlight on the remarkable women who are breaking barriers and making their mark in an industry that has long been dominated by men. My guest on this episode is none other than New York City based DJ, Songwriter and Versatile Electronic & Dark Synth Artist BANGS. Previously known as Georgi, BANGS quickly became a rising DJ, playing over 150 shows her first year worldwide. After a few years in the DJ scene, Bangs decided to focus on making her own music, following her passion as a songwriter. Known for her distinctive style, BANGS loves to draw inspiration from the 90's punk scene. She currently has two singles released through labels “Negative Gain” and “Revealed Recordings”, which you can find on all streaming services. The coolest thing about doing this episode, is that BANGS and I are about to start working together on her next single, and this is my way of getting to know her a little bit better! If you are enjoying this video series, please rate/review/subscribe/tell everyone about it. Every little bit helps. Instagram: @bangsafterdark

I'm honored to have NYC-based journalist and author, Carla Sosenko on this week's #serialshoppershow Podcast. I couldn't help but stalk Carla after coming across this eye-opening article she penned for #Cosmopolitan and #HarpersBazaar (which clearly went viral) about her personal struggles with compulsive buying disorder. Listen to my candid chat with Carla for the inside scoop about why she spent almost $100,000 on Instagram Shopping - in 6 months. Wait... why isn't my name on that #HarpersBazaar byline? All joking aside, this week's jaw-dropping episode is not-to-be-missed. In fact, we had so much to discuss about our dysfunctional buying behavior that I'm posting a second episode with even juicer nuggets the following week. Be sure to order Carla's memoir, Such a Pretty Face: Good Lessons From Bad Moments in an Unconventional Body, which will be published by Dial in spring 2025. Enjoy the show! Festival friends, welcome back to another episode of FestivalPass Stories. On this episode our host, Pat Tully brings us a “force to be reckoned with,” which is what the media says about the Synth-Pop trio of Kayah, Emily and Leah AKA Moonkissed. The band burst onto the scene after meeting at a party on New York's lower east side. It was love at first sight and the band immediately clicked. Tully talks to them about how they not only met and clicked, but how they got through the difficulty of the pandemic while not being able to perform for their loyal fan base. The Pandemic brought about serious creativity from artists and Moonkissed was no exception. Their song “Clubbing in your bedroom” resonated with everyone and became an instant hit. Kayah Cohen on the track: 'Clubbing In Your Bedroom,” is an invitation to get dressed up for no one and nothing and to move your body in order to heal. The song was written in an attempt for salvation and levity amidst pandemic despair.' Now back on the live music and festival circuit, Moonkissed were named a SXSW official Artist in 2022, a big moment for the band. To be Moonkissed is to be loved and we know you will feel ‘Moonkissed' and inspired by this awesome band after listening to this episode. Then I'm thrilled to welcome NYC based comic, Alden Sewell to the show to talk Celtics, stand up and New York City. It was a great conversation so I think you'll enjoy it. Finally it's on to Three Gripes: kids birthday parties, Texas and John Hinckley, Jr. Aside from the interview the rest of this episode is the usual pile of garbage so check it out! #TellYourFriends #WorldsWorstPodcast --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/complaintsandobservations/message

I spoke with founding member David Mosey from NYC-based post punk alternative rock collective London Plane. The band will be releasing their new album called "Bright Black" on June 17, 2022 on Declared Goods. London Plane is David Mosey (guitar and vocals), Jessica Cole (vocals), Bryan Garbe (drums), Grant Parker (bass), Julian Tulip (Synths) and Kristofer Widholm (guitar). Following the success of their debut album"New York Howl" in 2018, the band worked on new material in 2019 and early 2020. The result is "Bright Black'", an album packed with hope amidst cultural, sociopolitical, and ecological devastation, screaming a passionate battle cry back to the pop music spectrum. In effect, a hook-filled Avant-rock study in context and contradictions. The title track "Bright Black" at once an anti-war song, is a statement of hope - of brightness - amongst the invasion of darkness, both internal and external, imminent and eventual, this track sets the tone for the album as a whole. "Francesco "is a haunting goth-dance anthem that channels through a Latin prism. Equally inspired by a cloth-covered 1970s diary by an immigrant, found among personal belongings discarded on a New York curb and the hospitalization of Bauhaus frontman Peter Murphy on the eve of his NYC performance, "Francesco" spins the tale of Catholic Saint, stigmatist, levitator and mystic Padre Pio as a young man.https://www.londonplanemusic.comhttps://londonplane.bandcamp.com/musicSubscribe to my monthly mailing list for the latest music news, updates and my next interviews and events:http://eepurl.com/gtw6PPQUEEN OF WANDS with DJ Nocturna RemixedEvery Saturday on ModSnap RadioKMOD: San Antonio"San Antonio's leading alternative streaming Radio Station since 2017"Listen : http://modsnapradio.comPlaylist and podcast: https://djnocturna.comYouTube: https://www.youtube.com/c/DJNocturna2pm (HST), 5pm (PST), 6pm (MST), 7pm (CST), 8pm (EST)#ModsnapRadio #Postpunk #goth #Industrial #Dark80s #DarkWave #ethereal #darkelectronic#DJNocturna #DJNocturnapresentstheQueenofWands #LondonPlane #DavidMosey #ShamelessPromotionPR

In this episode, I'll be virtually traveling from my Safety Harbor, Florida studio all the way up to Manhattan, NY and the piano studio of Margin Alexander. Margin is a New York City metropolitan area based composer & pianist with a soul full of energy and fantasy in his original work. He happens to be the same composer that wrote and performed a piece of music for my painting called Fairwinds at Sea. The piece was performed at his show called Brooklyn Drops. Margin performs this original piece here and I love it sooooo much. Here's where you can learn more about Margin. https://www.marginalexander.com/ Watch him perform at Brooklyn Drops concert. https://youtu.be/tcPSwfzYs6E Thank you so much for watching and listening as I share my love of fun, connection, collaboration and ART. It would be great if you subscribe! Being a facilitator of conversation, I pose an open-ended question to each artist in true Caroline style. “Send me a one-sentence blurb about you and what you do as an artist.” Then the conversation just flows from there. And hey, I want to mention that I'm an artist too and it would make my heart sing if you were to go to my website and check out my artwork. I'll leave a link to my website in the show notes..
