The shortest day so far in the Kouri Richins murder trial may have been the most consequential. In less than an hour of testimony, defense attorney Kathy Nester exposed significant gaps in the investigation that are central to the prosecution's case against the Utah mother accused of fatally poisoning her husband with fentanyl.Crime scene technician Chelsea Gipson confirmed that a hydrocodone bottle recovered from Eric Richins' nightstand was never tested for fentanyl residue. She also confirmed that the kitchen where Kouri allegedly prepared the drink prosecutors say delivered the fatal dose was not photographed. No drug paraphernalia of any kind was found in the home on the day Eric died. And Gipson agreed that it's common for people to hide illicit drugs in prescription pill bottles — a key concession that supports the defense's theory that Eric may have unknowingly or knowingly had access to fentanyl independent of his wife. The courtroom's most dramatic moment came during questioning about phone recordings when Gipson asked if Nester was referring to "jail calls." The defense immediately moved to strike the comment, and Judge Mrazik instructed jurors not to speculate about the defendant's custody history. But the reference was already on the record in the jury's minds. An unexpected early recess ended the day before noon. Gipson returns to the stand for continued cross-examination in a trial expected to last into March.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? The defense came out swinging in the Kouri Richins murder trial and didn't waste a single minute. Attorney Kathy Nester used her cross-examination of crime scene technician Chelsea Gipson to expose a pattern of investigative gaps that go straight to the heart of the prosecution's case.A hydrocodone bottle from the victim's nightstand was never tested for fentanyl. The kitchen — central to the prosecution's theory that Kouri spiked a Moscow mule — was never photographed. No drug paraphernalia was found in the home. Items were moved during scene processing. And Gipson confirmed under oath that people commonly conceal illicit drugs inside prescription pill bottles, supporting the defense's argument that Eric Richins may have had his own access to fentanyl. The most explosive moment came when Gipson casually asked Nester if she was referring to "jail calls" while being questioned about recorded phone conversations. The defense moved to strike immediately. Judge Mrazik instructed the jury to disregard, but the damage was done — twelve jurors heard the word "jail" connected to the defendant from the prosecution's own witness.Court ended early due to unforeseen circumstances, cutting Nester's cross short. She returns Thursday with momentum and a growing list of evidence gaps that the prosecution hasn't addressed. This episode breaks down everything that happened, what it means for both sides, and why forty minutes of testimony may have just changed the trajectory of this trial.Join Our SubStack For AD-FREE ADVANCE EPISODES & EXTRAS!: https://hiddenkillers.substack.com/Want to comment and watch this podcast as a video? On this episode of Walk and Roll Live – Disability Stories, Doug Vincent sits down with Ty Gipson, entrepreneur, motivational speaker, and resilience advocate whose life has been shaped by extraordinary medical and personal challenges. Diagnosed with Type 1 juvenile diabetes at a young age, Ty's journey includes multiple life-saving organ transplants, years of uncertainty, and moments where giving up might have seemed easier than pushing forward. Instead, Ty adopted what he calls a “No Options” mindset — a belief that when quitting isn't an option, purpose takes over. In this powerful conversation, Ty shares how his health challenges shaped his outlook on life, leadership, and service, how entrepreneurship gave him a sense of control and creativity, and how gratitude, faith, and community helped him thrive beyond survival. Together, Doug and Ty explore disability, chronic illness, resilience, and the power of choosing hope when the path forward is unclear. This episode is a must-watch for anyone navigating disability, chronic illness, major life transitions, or searching for inspiration to keep moving forward — no matter the odds. Walk and Roll Live

On this podcast we are discussing the "No Options" mindset with Ty Gipson. This podcast is not our typical health radical podcast where we learn the latest and greatest bio-hacks for optimal health and longevity. My guest is radical in a different way that brings a unique viewpoint on resilience, health, and entrepreneurship. We'll be discussing a "NO OPTIONS" mindset that can be applied to a lot of areas of your life - not just overcoming health challenges.Ty Gipson's experience is pretty extensive including navigating health challenges that I suspect many of us probably would have just surrendered to. But he developed a 3-step mindset approach to tackling not just the life threatening challenges, but also the everyday life obstacles that pop up constantly.RESOURCES:This episode's blog post: https://drhaley.com/no-options/Ty Gipson's website: https://tygipson.com/Ty Gipson's "No Options" podcast:https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/no-options-with-ty-gipson/id1827303025TIMESTAMPS:00:00 Intro Snip01:05 Introduction to Ty Gipson02:45 How powerful is our mind?04:47 What power words shaped Ty's 3 step approach?07:09 What is the difference between Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes08:57 How did diabetes affect your health and other organs?12:15 What significant health challenge did you have when you were 30?13:30 What is your faith helping you get through this?19:50 How did your dual transplant for kidney and pancreas go?30:15 What is your calling to the people that hear this podcast?31:27 "you never know how far reaching something you think, say, or do can affect the lives of millions tomorrow"32:57 How long did your pancreas last? and your kidney?33:49 Why do you pray when you drive by a dialysis center?35:11 What is the kidney swap for transplant matches and what miracle happened for your donor?37:27 What happened following the family gathering where you shared your story for the first time?38:27 What is your 3 step process for overcoming challenges?40:36 How does Romans 8:28 apply to challenges?42:58 How does someone learn the 3 step process?46:08 What does Ty Gipson do for a living now?46:58 Final thoughts and encouragements?

Jerry returns for an update and starts with the sounds of the Packers beating the Commanders. Nick Sirianni talked about going to Kansas City this week. The Mets lost yet again to the Phillies. Jeff McNeil talked about the mood in the clubhouse. Aaron Judge homered twice and Stanton also went deep as the Yankees beat the Tigers. Aaron Boone talked about playing at home on 9/11. That's the kind of toughness that lives in Giants lore forever. Meanwhile, over on ESPN's Get Up, Rex Ryan went off about the Broncos, saying it's time to bench Russell Wilson and start Jaxson Dart. Ryan insists Dart clearly outplayed Wilson in the preseason and needs to play now.The Giants made roster news too, claiming WR/KR Xavier Gipson. Gipson led the league in punt return average last year and adds explosive potential, but his 10 fumbles in 35 games raise major concerns. Injury updates add more drama: Malik Nabers, Wan'Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton, Andrew Thomas, and Rakeem Nunez-Roches are all managing issues, while Micah McFadden hit IR and Demetrius Flannigan-Fowles popped up with a calf injury. Dexter Lawrence returned after missing Wednesday for the birth of his first child.Dallas isn't without their own setbacks — CB DaRon Bland will miss weeks, FS Malik Hooker is limited, and the Cowboys have multiple players on IR, including rookie RB Phil Mafah and CB Caelon Carson.
