After perhaps the best performance of the season against Newcastle and perhaps the worst performance of the season against Real Madrid, David Mooney is joined by City fan Ciaran Murray and, from BBC Radio Manchester, Mike Minay to assess the week. They discuss the Jekyll-and-Hyde style displays of the season so far (as they continue to search for pop culture metaphors), while they look at the impact of the new signings so far, and what could come between now and May. With Liverpool and Spurs on the cards for this week, they discuss what the state of play is given how both teams have their own little issues at the moment too... and whether City have it in the tank to exploit those or if Pep Guardiola's side are just too unpredictable. Former City midfielder Danny Tiatto speaks to the show about his time at Maine Road - taking in back-to-back promotions, playing under Joe Royle and Kevin Keegan, and red cards aplenty. Plus there's the best City consolation goals and the best 'Typical City' moments. ========== To get more podcasts or to listen without the ads, join our Patreon. I had the absolute pleasure of speaking to one of Manchester's hardest working men in media, Joe McGrath! I was delighted when he agreed to do the episode as you will hear all the different pies he is currently fingering at the moment, The Sloppy Joes podcast, The Wingmen YouTube channel, a show on BBC Radio Manchester and the location of this recording, The Red Lion Withington where Joe hosts a quiz each Wednesday. He speak about United, his Irish heritage, favourite takeaway in Manchester which tastes an unexpected and saucy turn! I hope you get a laugh as much as I did in recording. If you do share to a friend and subscribe!

“You don't need to have super-heroes because there are so many stories you can shine a spotlight on from an ordinary couple sat on the couch.” David Scott - AKA Argh Kid - is the poet who's captured the imagination of Mancunians with his observational work that often celebrates the Manchester dialect. David never expected to get a career in the creative industries when he was growing up. Now - he's the official poet for the NSPCC and UEFA, and he's worked with Manchester United. His radio show on BBC Radio Manchester showcases creative talent from across the region and his book Mancunians is out in 2022. You'll hear as Lisa Morton discusses the guts it took for Dave to stand on stage and perform in front of all his friends and family, for the first time, in his early 30's. How that led to a video that went viral and kick-started his career, and how he can hear the poetry that comes from everyday people in Greater Manchester. ------ Your host, Lisa Morton, started PR company Roland Dransfield in 1996, one month after the fateful IRA bomb that tore apart the city centre. From that point, the business, and its team members, have been involved in helping to support the creation of Modern Manchester – across regeneration, business, charity, leisure and hospitality, sport and culture. To celebrate the 25 years that Roland Dransfield has spent creating these bonds, Lisa is gathering together some of her Greater Mancunian ‘family' and will be exploring how they have created their own purposeful relationships with the best place in the world.
