With the SWPL title wrapped up in dramatic style for the second year running, and a Scottish Cup final to look forward to this Sunday at Hampden, Dave is once more joined by Eva Murray to discuss all things in women's Scottish football. Before the title celebrations, there was a huge midweek that saw Celtic beat Hearts 3-1, and Dave caught up with Elena Sadiku and Kelly Clark after that match for their thoughts on what could happen at Celtic Park. There is a bit more from Elena after Sunday's drama, along with her team gatecrashing the interview! Eva gives us her view on how things played out at Broadwood on Sunday as Rangers came agonisingly close to regaining the title, before turning focus on champions Celtic. Hibernian and Hearts both played their parts, with the latter still with hopes for the Scottish Cup knowing they were one of two teams to beat Rangers in the league this season. Further down the league, there was just a single point between the bottom two with Hamilton losing out and Dundee United facing Kilmarnock in the playoff (played after this was recorded), whilst Montrose achievement of staying up with a bit to spare is rightly congratulated. Dave and Eva finish up with their own SWPL teams of the season. Thank you to supernovaterracewear.com who are sponsoring our Fantasy Football Scotland league for the third season running. What makes a successful Celtic Manager? Winning the Scottish League Title? Dominating our Glasgow rivals? Success in Europe? Last minute winners? Gordon Strachan done it all and more during his time at Celtic and now – almost 20 years after he took his place in the Celtic Park hot-seat - renowned Celtic Author Matt Corr has charted the incredible maiden season of the man who was given the unenviable task of replacing the legendary Martin O'Neill. As a club Celtic were still coming to terms with the loss of the great Henrik Larsson just 12 months prior and now the man who had dragged Celtic into the modern era was also departing. Into the bargain the club were now downsizing financially and the big money moves that brought key figures like Sutton, Hartson, Lennon would also become a thing of the past. That Strachan then went on to be quite as successful as he was at Celtic Park is all the more admirable. But it certainly wasn't plain sailing. Far from it. Majic, Stan & The King of Japan is the story of that rollercoaster 2005/06 season under Gordon Strachan and it's Bratislava, Broadwood and everything in between. Matt joined Tino in The Celtic Exchange studio to pick up the story and to take us through a chapter that – until now – has been one of the lesser charted eras of modern day Celtic. Majic, Stan & The King Of Japan will be launched at a very special event at Celtic Park on Thursday 19th of October. Guests on the night include John Hartson and Stephen McManus who starred in that team as well as other guests to be announced. Find out more and book your tickets at the link here. The Celtic Women's Football Show podcast looks at women's football from a Celtic perspective.Clare Wilde is joined by Lorenzo Pacitti to look back at Celtic taking a dramatic last minute point on Monday night at Broadwood. It's another big weekend in the Scottish Women's Football calendar as we have Derby Day action in SWPL1. John B, Vinny and Dave are joined by the leagues Managing Director Fiona McIntyre to preview the games. The Women's Old Firm derby is up first on Saturday night at Broadwood, will the defending champions maintain their unbeaten record stretching back to the last day of the 2020/21 season, or will Celtic leapfrog their arch rivals with victory? Next up is the "Petershill derby" between Partick Thistle and Glasgow City, with Vinny promoting what's on offer for a family funday as well as the prospect of an exciting game between 5th and 2nd in the league. The only non-derby of the day is between Spartans and Glasgow Women, but this is no less significant than any other game this weekend with both sides looking to kick-start their respective seasons after a difficult opening ten games. We have a first top-flight meeting between Dundee United and Aberdeen, which has been moved to Tannadice in order to attract more fans to the game. United will be looking to build on last weekends win by piling on the misery for the Dons, who've failed to build on their fifth place finish of last campaign. In the first of the Sunday evening games, Hamilton take on Motherwell and will take inspiration from their win at Fir Park last season, whilst 'Well will be seeking back-to-back wins for the first time this season. Last, and by no means least, is the Edinburgh derby between Hibs and Hearts in front of an expected record crowd for a domestic game in Scotland. Can the Hibees give themselves a pre-SWPL Cup Final boost, or will the Jambos increase the gap on their capital rivals with another three points. Forget the men's World Cup, there's plenty to get excited about in Scottish Football, and this weekend is another chance for the Women's game to shine on centre stage. Scottish football might be on holiday, but Adam still has plenty to talk about with his guests. BBC Alba and BBC Scotland presenter, social media producer and broadcast journalist Iona Ballantyne discusses the end of Clyde's 28-year Broadwood stay, Danny Lennon, interviewing Rose Reilly and other legendary figures from the game, narrating Scottish football documentaries, the inspiring story of 1920s football trailblazer Sadie Smith, the sacrifices made by SWPL players balancing football and their day jobs, the women who've inspired her, making a documentary on Piper Alpha, a memorable piece of dark humour from her dad and a bizarre assignment at Easter Road. London-based journalist and politics producer Ed Campbell of Politics JOE talks about the importance of Connor Goldson, why Aaron Ramsey shouldn't be considered an Ibrox flop, what a good transfer window would look like for Rangers, Politics JOE's modern approach to political reporting, providing an alternative to 'Inside Baseball' Westminster chat, recording viral videos such as the recent interviews with royalists camping on the pavement ahead of the Platinum Jubilee, angry Scottish football fans online and his experience at The Great Sausage Roll Off. Adam puts questions from social media to his guests, enlists them to help him debunk a myth involving Aberdeen, Rangers and a notorious VL, tests them on some recent Rangers headlines and classic Danny Lennon quotes, and reveals a young family member's surprising choice of favourite Scotland player. Welcome to Episode 44 of Glory Days of Gold. Recorded across two continents, Glory Days of Gold brings you a regular dose of East Fife FC and Scottish football chat, with a splattering of interesting interviews, fun segments, and music thrown in along the way. Silly us. We thought with East Fife's season wrapping up, with no meaningful games left to play, that it would be a pretty quiet week down Bayview way. What on earth would we talk about on the show? How wrong we were. It's been a week of farce and shame in lower league Scottish football and it all started at Broadwood on Tuesday evening when East Fife refused to play their game against Clyde after a positive test in the Bully Wee camp was revealed minutes before kick off. We delve into the farcical scenes at the match, the subsequent fall out, and the ridiculous fine handed out to East Fife, in a situation that did that rare thing of basically uniting Scottish football fans. Sadly East Fife's season just doesn't seem to want to end. We take a brief look at the game that did go ahead this week against Peterhead, try to muster up some enthusiasm for the season run-in, and look ahead to the exciting battle between Brora Rangers, Kelty Hearts, and Brechin City for a place in League 2. But we get into more serious issues to end the show as we look at abuse in football, both on and off the pitch, with the unsavoury incident around David Cox as the catalyst. We talk mental health, the abuse Cox says made him retire from the game, and question whether this is going to start a conversation about mental health issues or make players less likely to come out and talk about it. And as the game is uniting about social media abuse this weekend, is that just posturing or can we really see real change in that regard and how would it come about? All of that plus our regular music and fun sections. Here's the rundown for the main segments from the episode: 01.42: East Fife's Clyde Covid Controversy and farcical fines 39.57: Fife Bands In Focus - The Ghost Train - Hope and Glory 44.25: Trying, and failing, to care about the season run-in 59.48: Anyone Fancy A Chocolate Digestive? - Euan Donaldson 62.40: Brora, Kelty, and Brechin - the battle for a league place begins 73.27: David Cox, mental health, and abuse in football and online 99.30: Wavelength - I, Ludicrous - Bring On The Substitute

Derek chats to former Rangers, Clyde and Partick Thistle midfielder Jimmy Gibson. In another refreshingly honest interview, Jimmy looks back on his seven years at Ibrox, his frustration at not making the breakthrough as well as his battle with gambling addiction. He also relives his time at Broadwood and Firhill where he would help Thistle win promotion in 2006 under the legendary Dick Campbell.Enjoy folks!
Happy Monday! On today's podcast we call Broadwood (or so we think) for our A-Z of New Zealand and end up chatting to some absolute Kiwi characters. We also wrote a parody song about David Clark's recent controversial antics. Also Ben had a humbling experience at the courier when he saw their #HallOfFame! Enjoy ladies & gents!

This is a Scottish Football Forum's Podcast Special for Back Onside with Graham Wilson, a Patron for the Charity. In this interview, Graham talks openly about his battle with depression and alcoholism, and how that battle took him to the brink of taking his own life on a number of occasions. There is no hiding place for Graham as he talks about his darkest days, including taking payday loans to feed his alcohol habit and drinking weedkiller in a bid to end his pain. Thankfully, Graham is here to tell the story of how he gave up the booze on 4 October 2013, overcoming his demons and turned his life around to be where he is now. In his role as a patron, he frequently gives talks in Universities and Schools to raise mental health awareness and explains the great work of Back Onside. As you are by now aware, we have our own charity event for Back Onside on Sunday 29 March at Broadwood between fans and ex Players of Aberdeen and Celtic. Graham elaborates on the importance of events such as ours and the upcoming Back Onside ball on 2 May to bring much needed funds so they can continue to help people in crisis with their mental health struggles. Graham's final message is to encourage anyone who is suffering to speak out, and for others to listen. Nobody should suffer in silence and ending your pain just passes that onto others. It's Krys and John this week as they make a second attempt at releasing a podcast this week following technical difficulties on the interview with Phil McGuire. Although that one is now lost to us all, Phil has kindly agreed to come back on at a later date. Instead, we have to make do with chatting through two full rounds of Premiership fixtures, a couple of catch up games, the lower league matches from the weekend and two Scottish Cup fourth round replays. So not much to talk about then! Across the games we chat about the form of Aberdeen, how every dropped point is a disaster in the title race, the chances of Hearts being able to make the top six, Dundee United's inevitable march to the Championship title, if Partick Thistle just collect relegations in bundles, and whether or not League One will become a two horse race. We give a quick nod to Fauldhouse who exited the Scottish Cup to Pollok, and we also plug our upcoming Back Onside charity match at Broadwood which is a little over eight weeks away. We then sadly finish up talking about the needless nonsense that comes with Scottish football and ask the question that pretty much everyone was asking on Twitter prior to recording about a specific type of car. Thanks as always for listening. Tweet us @sffpodcastFacebook - Scottish Football ForumsInstagram - sffpodcast

During a rare moment of down time at the Carolina Music Museum, located in Downtown Greenville, I had a chance to bring my microphones, some music and another pianist to sit down and try out the historic keyboard instruments from their Facing South exhibit that will soon be wrapped up to make room for a brand new collection of such extent to warrant a name change. Lisa Kiser is the principal keyboardist of the Greenville Symphony Orchestra. She will perform works by Mozart and Liszt on pianos from 1791 and 1863. We'll perform together a very unusual piece by Mozart written for two forte pianos. The museum happens to have two Broadwood pianos that were made within months of each other making this recording possible. Tom Strange, Curator and Founder of the museum tells us about a special "square" piano that had spent its entire life in South Carolina from 1834 until today. It barely escaped destruction by General Sherman's troops, but was saved because Eliza, the owner, played and sang

It's approaching Christmas 1900, but there's no champagne for Broadwood who is based in Rustenburg west of Pretoria. That's because the Boers first ransacked his supply convoy then attacked General Clements in the Magaliesberg. General Koos de la Rey was largely responsible for both upsets, along with Smuts and Beyers. The battle at Nooitgedacht had been short and brutal, with hand-to-hand combat on the side of a mountain over a thousand feet high. By the end, more than 100 British casualties were reported, two hundred more were prisoners and General Clements had retreated to Pretoria. As the long sunny days of Summer in South Africa approached 25th December, in Cape Town the High Commissioner Alfred Milner was growing concerned about what he called .. the Screamers. These were the liberals who were mobilising sentiment against the British actions in South Africa, with the first reports beginning to filter across the globe about the treatment of Boer women and children. We're going to see how first stories garnered sympathy - and eventually by mid-1901, full-scale criticism of British policy. The bitterness that this era evokes to this day is extraordinary, but understandable. I'll return to this in the months to come, but this podcast as a pre-Christmas special, begins with Milner, sitting in Cape Town. Four nights after the disaster we heard about last week at Nooitgedacht in the Magaliesberg mountains west of Pretoria, Milner was sleeping outside. He was caught by the notorious Cape Town wind called the Cape Doctor which blasts in from the South East in Summer, and can blow people off their feet. It was the 16th December when the doctor arrived in Cape Town, bullying the palm trees, rolling pebbles across Milner's grass tennis court, causing his roof to drum like the devils fingers were running along the slates. Lord Milner was a great believer in the stiff-upper lip - and when word came of the terrible defeat by General Clements he dutifully stiffened. He had already been thrown somewhat by the other reports reaching him earlier in December about two separate Boer commandos which had invaded the Cape. While we've heard about General Christiaan de Wet's attempt to enter the Cape and how that was botched by bad weather - the wily general had achieved part of his aim. Remember I explained how he'd moved north, away from the Orange River which is the boundary between the Orange Free State and the Cape, hoping that two other two Boer divisions he'd sent South would be free to move. That was because the British were infatuated with de Wet, and wanted him out of the way. So they duly marched and rode north chasing their nemisis, thus leaving the area to the south open for General Kritzinger and Judge Hertzog.
Elgin City look to build on their away win, with (hopefully) another away win at Broadwood (ahhh, remember last October?) ALSO, reflections on the Berwick game... and Twitter went into MELTDOWN when a celebrity travelled to Moray! Wowweee(!)
