Another mind bending podcast. Jennifer had one of her "uncorked" events in Manhattan Beach this past week, and one of the attendees wanted to speak to her pet hamster who had passed away. Jennifer recounts doing that as well as talking to a "tree" in their yard that was ill and about to pass away.  We've had multiple conversations both with animals, and with trees (look for "General Sherman" on the podcast. But we've also had a conversation with a dolphin before. (Look for "Edgar Cayce, Doris Stokes and a dolphin" on the podcast. In this one, Luana Anders, my pal on the flipside who passed in 1996 brought forth a dolphin who wanted to speak with us. The construct is this - the dolphin isn't "sitting in our interview chair" but she's able to communicate directly with Jennifer. And since we've interviewed animals before, I try to ask the same questions I ask everyone that shows up in the research. In this case, Luana gave her the name "Samantha" (which could have been a play on my dog Sam that I've spoken to in the past, I don't know, that's Luana's sense of humor.) And Samantha said a number of mind bending things... that only 5% of her conscious energy is outside herself, "the higher consciousness" that is addressing us directly.  Generally people report we bring between 20 and 40% of our conscious energy to a lifetime, and that when we have brain issues (dementia, etc) we only have around ten percent or less of our conscious energy. If I was hearing this correctly, Samantha was saying "only 5% of her conscious energy is offstage" - because dolphin don't have the same filters we do. In terms of what was heard or learned; the dolphin consider themselves the "sheriffs" of the sea, as well as the librarians collecting data. That they are aware of everything going on in the ocean.  I asked a simple question about Samantha's opinion of humans - she pointed out that a human had saved her mother's life in a previous lifetime (as a shark) and that she appreciate that aspect of humanity. I asked a question about empathy - since a certain person in high places said some comment about "empathy holding back civilization" - and the dolphin replied that "empathy is the only thing that moves civilization forward." Empathy to help others, to heal others, to find a cure for cancer, illness, etc.  It's a mind bending answer, but it's a mind bending comment for someone to make - who clearly has no clue how consciousness functions or incarnation works. Samantha reiterated that "animals understand how incarnation works but humans do not."  There are many things humans don't get - in terms of other dimensions, and Samantha said she and others kept tabs on that - including those stories of "UAP's (UFO's)" that shift in and out of the water. I know all of this is mind bending - and it's a perfect reason to stop watching the podcast. If one is having a hard time comprehending this information, perhaps a good time to look into the data, research from UVA medical school DOPS lab that shows consciousness is not confined to the brain. Or to examine the clinical case studies of Dr. Wambach, Dr. Brian Weiss or Michael Newton and the Newton Institute in terms of how people can recall previous lifetimes, or how their own incarnations have worked. Truly one of the most mind bending podcasts we've done - and I'm shocked to say it was only 30 minutes of questions and answers. Hope people take this opportunity to research the topic - because we're touching the tip of the iceberg - literally. We don't understand how animals or plants communicate - but we can learn.  And this is a way to ask them questions and get answers.

Welcome to the podcast! In today's episode we begin by inviting Luana Anders to come and chat with us about whatever she'd like to discuss and brings along her pal Amelia Earhart. After hearing her say that it's okay for me to pretend to "channel" her in my latest book, she comments on the fact that despite the Equal Rights Amendment being approved by a majority of the country, it still isn't consider the law of the land.  She says "that's sad" to consider. She talks about how Mother Mary comes through in the research to share non denominational advice that's we should treat everyone fairly - or without judgment.  It's often repeated whenever she does show up in a discussion, and there's a discussion about the book "The Greatest Story Never Told as told by Jesus and those who knew him." The point Amelia seems to make is that we need to stop judging others based on race, gender or any of the other judgments we use to convince others to feel less than, separate or apart. This is not a religious idea or concept - and again isn't coming from Jennifer or me - but we're hearing it from the aviatrix who is on the flipside and wants to help. Then we have a visit from the musician Prince - I'm aware that there is a documentary that's been made about his life, and how the filmmaker who made it was recently told that Netflix was not going to air the version he made - because the Prince estate wasn't happy with the result. Jennifer doesn't know anything about this film or this footage - but I do. Former Music critic at Variety, I pay attention to this kind of thing - and Prince says on the podcast that he was disappointed that they decided to change the direction of the documentary, as "the truth sets people free on both sides of the veil." As Jennifer points out - it's not something we often hear because people usually refer to things "happening in the sequence they're supposed to happen."  But in this case, he is asked if he agrees with that decision (a decision Jennifer isn't aware of) and he says "no, he is not happy with it." There's a clarification of something we heard the week before, Luana's cat, Mr. Bailey (dubbed the Cosmic Cat by Chat GPT) said that he was "in charge of how reincarnation works." I wanted to clarify that - and he was in agreement that it was like what General Sherman had said earlier in our podcast - the giant Sequoia who said that "frequency wise" he was related to all trees everywhere, and all wood everywhere. As if once we're offstage, we see how we are all connected, all part of a larger ocean of individuals, yet we can be accessed in this fashion. Mind bending stuff. Thanks for tuning in.

On this day in 1865, Union General William T. Sherman issued Special Field Order No. 15, promising freed Black families 40 acres and an army mule. The order, developed with input from Black leaders in Savannah, Georgia, set aside the Sea Islands and a 330-mile coastal stretch from Charleston, South Carolina, to Florida for settlement by freed Africans. Land ownership was seen as the key to freedom and equality. After slavery was abolished, the land fell under the jurisdiction of the Freedmen's Bureau, which aimed to protect property rights and establish schools. However, President Andrew Johnson later overturned Sherman's order, returning the land to its original white owners. This betrayal forced many freed Black families into sharecropping, trapping them in cycles of poverty and debt. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

The Ukrainian Army is now replicating General Sherman's March through Georgia in Russia's Kursk region. Yes, it is the closest historical analogy. It's a strike at the enemies rear, a demoralizing strike, a painful strike with a far reaching, though still unclear to many, consequences.  One of the main tasks of any army forced to fight a war on its own territory is to transfer this war to the enemies territory. So that it's their, the enemies, cities and villages being destroyed by artillery. Their civilian population turning into refugees and their, not our, fields and factories burning from direct shelling.  For two and a half years, Ukraine fought with a wild and impossible limitation: our partners gave us weapons, but forbid us from using them outside of Ukraine. We had no rights to strike military targets in Russia while Russia had no such restrictions. Now, everything is changing. We are bringing the war to the territory of the aggressor country. They have sown the wind, and now we will reap whirlwind.  I would like our offensive to be exactly like Sherman's- all, the way to the sea, the baltic or the white sea, with the destruction of everything in its path, cutting the enemy fronts in half. Of course, it won't be that way- these are different times with different weapons, tactics, and logistics. But what is happening now is history, something that could become a turning point in this war. The Russians dreamed of capturing Kyiv in three days, but now over 900 days into their three day war, they are losing village after village on their own territory. It's been a long time since I have had a real reason for good cheer, but now I'm almost dancing- we have thrown the fire of war back to where it came from. Now we must push forward and not stop. I confess I'm a bit envious of my comrades who are now fighting in the Kursk region. When I left Russia more than 10 years ago, I told myself I would never return to that wretched, racist country. But now I realize that I would gladly go there for a couple of months in a Ukrainian tank.  If I do get there, and there is always a chance, I will certainly tell you about it. But for now, wish us all and all of Ukraine luck. Let Moscow be burned and its cannibalistic regime destroyed forever.

Another mind bending episode.  I went up to the Sequoias this past week and got a chance to meet "General Sherman" for the first time. Considered one of the oldest trees in the world, I recorded some footage of talking to people who were accessing the tree in real time, which I will transcribe at a future date and post on medium. However, Jennifer and I got a chance to do a rare Sunday podcast - and the idea of interviewing a tree has occurred in the podcast before, as well as during guided meditation sessions in the books ARCHITECTURE OF THE AFTERLIFE and DIVINE COUNCILS IN THE AFTERLIFE. I know it's mind bending to consider - but the idea is that when one "sees a tree" during a hypnotherapy session, or during a near death event, or during an out of body experience, or in a dream - to access that tree, see if the tree will respond to questions. And then compare the answers. As noted, this isn't the first time either Jennifer or I have asked questions to what people don't consider to be sentient - there are multiple interviews on this podcast with Hira, Robert Towne's dog on the flipside, with my dog Sam on the Flipside, with other animals and pets, with non incarnating beings, etc. The latest book CLOSE ENCOUNTERS OF THE FLIPSIDE KIND has numerous examples of interviews with "non incarnated beings" as well as animals on the planet. So in light of that concept, we asked the tree some questions and got some pretty unusual answers. All I can say is - if you're ready to consider the possibility then take a listen to this latest podcast.

As the popular narrative goes, the Civil War was won when courageous Yankees triumphed over the South. But an aspect of the war that has remained little-known for 160 years is the Alabamian Union soldiers who played a decisive role in the Civil War, only to be scrubbed from the history books. One such group was the First Alabama Calvary, formed in 1862. It went on raids that destroyed Confederate communications and also marched with Sherman's forces across the South. They aided the fall of Vicksburg and the burning of Atlanta.Today's guest is Howell Raines, author of “Silent Cavalry: How Union Soldiers from Alabama Helped Sherman Burn Atlanta—and Then Got Written Out of History.” As Raines has pieced together, Union General William Tecumseh Sherman's decisive effort to burn Atlanta was facilitated by an unsung regiment of 2,066 yeoman farmers and former slaves from Alabama—including at least one member of Raines's own family. So why have the best-known Civil War historians, including Ken Burns and Shelby Foote, given only passing – or no – attention to this regiment of southerners who chose to fight for the North – a regiment that General Sherman hailed as one of the finest in the Union? We explore this question through an account of Alabama's Mountain Unionists and their exploits, along with investigating why they and others like them were excised from the historical record.

I also discuss the attempt by an AFO defendant in New Jersey to flee from the FBI, and the sentencings of some notable defendants. Also: leaked proffer videos in the Fulton County case, and the effort to get cameras in the courtroom in the Trump's DC case. Most of the episode consists of a review of the figures connected with the Tomotley Plot, a ring of attorneys and former military intelligence officials who worked together to overturn the 2020 presidential election at Lucian "Lin" Wood's plantation in South Carolina. I draw on dozens of transcripts to show how extensively Powell and her co-conspirators are connected to every part of the January 6th story. The story of what happened at Tomotley is one that's had little coverage, but it was every bit as important to the progress of the Trumpist plot as Trump International or the war room at the Willard. Apparently no one took even a moment to consider the wisdom of a group of white, southern lawyers working together with retired military officials in an attempt to disenfranchise millions of American voters, particularly black voters, at a locale so thoroughly associated with the Confederacy that General Sherman burnt the place to the ground in 1865. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/special-counsel-says-trump-wants-jan-6-trial-to-be-a-media-event-as-it-argues-against-live-court-tv/ar-AA1jRGcm https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.260552/gov.uscourts.dcd.260552.16.0.pdf https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.dcd.260552/gov.uscourts.dcd.260552.22.0.pdf https://www.rawstory.com/lin-woods-tweet/ https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/crime/prosecutor-asks-judge-to-revoke-bond-for-harrison-floyd-in-georgia-election-case/ar-AA1jZN9w https://abc7chicago.com/jenna-ellis-sydney-powell-donald-trump-2020-election/14054154/ https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/who-is-misty-hampton-former-coffee-county-elections-director-indicted-for-election-interference https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2023/10/16/a-stay-at-lin-woods-maga-friendly-bed-and-breakfast https://lawandcrime.com/2020-election/lin-wood-loses-again-as-federal-appeals-court-savages-georgia-election-lawsuit/ https://www.cnn.com/2023/07/05/politics/lin-wood-law-license/index.html https://lawandcrime.com/2020-election/wisconsin-federal-judge-picks-apart-sidney-powell-and-lin-woods-lawsuit-in-brutal-order/ https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/GPO-J6-TRANSCRIPT-CTRL0000082296/pdf/GPO-J6-TRANSCRIPT-CTRL0000082296.pdf https://www.cnn.com/2023/08/03/politics/michigan-voting-machine-plot-charged-lambert/index.html https://www.fox5atlanta.com/news/trump-indictment-georgia-protective-order-plea-deal-interviews https://s3.documentcloud.org/documents/21201004/documents-for-eo-story.pdf https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2018/09/14/2018-20203/imposing-certain-sanctions-in-the-event-of-foreign-interference-in-a-united-states-election

Railroads made Texans wealthier than they had ever been. They brought labor-saving and efficiency improving implements like riding plows, threshers, mechanical harvesters, and soon, tractors, which collectively lifted the standard of living of most Texans far beyond anything their parents could have imagined. And Texans hated them for it! Texans very conflicted feelings toward the "Iron Horse" exposed an irreconcilable tension between their frontier regulatory model and their unshakable conviction that land was the only proper basis for wealth.Cover art of Texas's first locomotive - the "General Sherman" - available online at Houston Metropolitan Research Center, HPL.www.BrandonSeale.com

Calvin Day French continues marching north through North Carolina and Virginia nearly 600 miles under the command of General Sherman in April and May 1865. He marches in April through the North Carolina towns of Kinston, Goldsboro, Raleigh, Huntsville and Ridgeway. After the surrender of the Confederate armies by Generals Lee and Johnston in April 1865, Sherman continues marching his army in May through the Virginia towns of Petersburg, Manchester and Alexandria arriving in Washington, DC. On May 26, 1865, Calvin marched with Sherman's Army in the West of 65,000 in the Grand Review totaling 165,000 troops down Pennsylvania Avenue from the US Capital Building past the reviewing stand in front of President Andrew Johnson and his cabinet concluding at the White House. Sherman's Army of the West was loose and lean and sparked fever of enthusiasm among the spectators. Former slaves followed Sherman's army as they marched down Pennsylvania Avenue with southern prizes such as dogs, goats, mules, raccoons, gamecocks, and even a monkey. The men wore ragged uniforms and hung chickens and hams from their bayonets to the crowd's delight. The band played the same songs they had played when they began the march to the sea, including Battle Hymn of the Republic. After concluding his Civil War service, Calvin then begins his travels back to his home in Ohio.

The center of a million-acre reservation known as the Bosque Redondo, this site represents one of the most tragic periods in American history. As Spaniards, Mexicans and Americans settled in the territory of New Mexico, they were subject to raids from the Diné (Navajo) and Ndé (Mescalero Apache) people who fought to maintain their traditional homelands and to obtain valuable resources from the settlers.  In efforts to control the raiding the Spanish, the Mexicans and then the Americans, fought the Indians.  Treaties were written and broken, nothing much changed.  Raiding continued until the early 1860s when a significant military force became available. In 1863, when the US Army had defeated the invading Confederates in New Mexico, there was a large enough military force available to deal with the “Indian problem”.  It was decided that these "problematic" indigenous people would be brought to a spot far away from the populated areas of the Territory.  There they could be taught to farm and learn the ways of the white man as means of assimilation and cultural genocide. The Ndé were the first to be subdued and brought to Bosque Redondo early in 1863. They were promised that if the moved to Bosque Redondo and behaved, they would be cared for. Known by the Diné as the "Long Walk," over 50 different groups were forced to walk a distance of more than 350 miles to the reservation in east central New Mexico.  It was an arduous journey that saw them travel 12-15 miles a day, often in chilling cold or stifling heat.  Hundreds of Diné died as a result of these conditions.  As well, those who could not keep up with this pace (tribal elders, the sick, pregnant women) were shot.  The Diné continued to arrive at Bosque Redondo for a period of over two years. At its peak in the winter of 1864, more than 8,500 Diné and nearly 500 Ndé people were held at the Bosque Redondo Indian Reservation. Most of the Ndé became so disenchanted with life as farmers and the meager rations that they left in the night during November of 1865 to go home.  A small group who could not keep pace with the hasty departure, stayed behind to keep the campfires going so the army would not realize that the tribe had left.  The Mescaleros scattered to create many trails and frustrate their pursuers. Some headed to Mexico, some joined the Warm Springs and Lipan Apaches, and some joined Comanche bands.  Small groups of Ndé wandered for years until negotiations began for the Mescalero Apache Reservation in the early 1870s.  In 1871 A. J. Curtis, acting Agent for the Ndé, based out of Fort Stanton, proposed a reservation be established for the tribe within their ancestral mountains, the White and Sacrementos.  On May 29, 1873, by executive order of President Ulysses S. Grant, the Mescalero Apache Reservation was authorized.  Although this provided a promise of refuge for the Ndé, it came at a great cost to their freedom. For the Diné, another three years of crop failures, suffering and death preceded the arrival of General Sherman and his Peace Commission to investigate reports of government waste and mistreatment of the Diné.  He found the reports to be true and began to affect solutions; he first offered the Diné leaders an expense paid trip to Oklahoma.  They turned him down and instead asked to go home. Talks began between the Diné headmen and the Peace Commission. Negotiations with the Diné resulted in the Treaty of 1868 signed on June 1st, 1868.  The Diné were allowed to return to their traditional homelands in the four corners region of the southwest. Today the Navajo Nation is the largest Native American group in the United States with a population of nearly 400,000. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/loren-alberts/message

On The Georgia Politics Podcast today, we are proud to present this special “local history” episode with guests from the Roswell and Alpharetta Historical Societies, Kevin Bamford and Pat Miller. Roswell has a long and notable history, observed today in its proud preservation of the antebellum homes of some of its founders. It also had a run in with General Sherman, during his “march to the sea”, and lost most of the workers and structures that comprised its local mill operation. In Alpharetta, local historians have worked hard to preserve some of its older buildings and have protected some of its notable artifacts and pieces of history in a new museum at Alpharetta City Hall. Ms. Miller details the city's origins in Milton County, the county's subsequent bankruptcy, and the city's blossoming into a tech hub after the creation of Georgia 400. We also dive into the challenges of running a local historical society with a mission to preserve history for generations to come. Raising funds, finding volunteers, and most recently Covid-19, can create obstacles that motivate members to think outside the box and engage neighbors and friends. If you would like to get more involved in your community, joining and volunteering with your local historical society is a great way to learn more about where you love and meet people who have shared interests. In this episode we head west and focus on General Sherman's march on Atlanta, Georgia. After the victory at Chattanooga, moving into the Confederate heartland and neutralizing Atlanta seemed a prudent next step. Over the summer of 1864, General Sherman and his opponent, General Johnston maneuvered, retreated, skrimished, and occasionally fought from Tenneesee to Atlanta. Johnston prudently chose to give up space for time to preserve his army, but the Confederates could not afford to do so. Faced with a great deal of criticism, as Sherman's army arrived at the gates of Atlanta, Johnston was replaced with John Hood who, in the later half of the campaign, would destroy the army Johnston wanted to preserve.
