Dreaming of sharing your expertise beyond one-on-one client work? Creating continuing education courses could be your next revenue stream—and it's far simpler than you might think.Dr. Kate Walker demystifies the process of becoming a CE provider in this practical coaching session. Contrary to popular belief, Texas practitioners don't need special approval or certification to offer continuing education. "If you want to be a CE provider, good news is you already are," Dr. Walker explains, clearing away common misconceptions about regulatory requirements. The session walks through a three-part framework for successful CE creation: presenting your content effectively, hosting it accessibly, and selling it profitably. From recording live presentations to setting up automated certificate delivery, Dr. Walker breaks down the technical elements that often intimidate would-be providers.Technology recommendations include Zoom for live presentation, YouTube for hosting, and Podia as an all-in-one platform for selling courses and delivering certificates. "At the end of the day, you have to have a way to automatically provide the certificate," she emphasizes, highlighting how manual distribution quickly becomes unmanageable as you scale.Marketing guidance focuses on finding viable niches through preliminary research. "If you're wanting to do a CE on backyard gardening for counselors, Google it," she advises. "You've either found a niche that's going to make you a million dollars, or you've found a niche that nobody wants."For Step It Up members, this preview sets the stage for a comprehensive summer training that will include screen sharing tutorials and step-by-step technical guidance. Additional resources will include specialized training on NBCC certification for those seeking national recognition of their CE offerings.Ready to transform your knowledge into professional development opportunities that other practitioners need—and will pay for? Every so often, an episode calls for something a little different—and today is one of those times. You're about to hear a conversation between two friends, colleagues, and champions of books that actually drive business results. In this special episode, I'm handing the mic to Kate Colbert, award-winning author of “Think Like a Marketer” and “Commencement: The Beginning of a New Era in Higher Education.” She's also a founding partner of the Biz Book Pub Hub. If you've listened to this show before, you know Kate's passion for helping entrepreneurs write books that don't just live on shelves—but move readers to act, engage, and buy. Today, she's taking over as the host to interview someone she knows well: ME! I've spent years behind the scenes coaching entrepreneurs on how to turn their books into business assets. Now, I'm pulling back the curtain on my own playbook with the release of my fourth book, “LAUNCH Your Book! An Entrepreneur's Guide to Reviews That Drive Revenue.” In this conversation, Kate and I go beyond the typical “how-to” and dive into what it really takes to launch a nonfiction book that builds credibility, generates leads, and drives long-term results. This is more than a launch story. It's a roadmap for what's possible when you combine thoughtful strategy with a history of community building. And as you'll hear, Kate's guest-hosting duties aren't just a formality—her thoughtful questions and behind-the-scenes knowledge bring an added layer of richness to this conversation. So let's dive in as Kate Colbert interviews me about the intentional launch behind “LAUNCH Your Book! An Entrepreneur's Guide to Reviews That Drive Revenue.” In this episode, we discuss the following:

O historiador Luís Covane recorda as circunstâncias do sucedido. A explosão do engenho é-lhe fatal. How can a mini course help you attract coaching clients and build trust before they even book a session? In this episode, we explore the power of mini courses as a marketing tool for coaches. Many coaches struggle with attracting new clients because potential clients often hesitate, they don't know if coaching is right for them, if they'll get value from it, or if they even need it. That's where a mini course comes in. We break down how creating a short, valuable course can help potential clients experience your coaching style, get to know you, and start solving a problem; making them much more likely to invest in full coaching sessions. A mini course acts as a bridge; it reduces risk for the client, builds trust, and allows them to experience transformation before committing to full coaching. We also share how we use Kajabi to create and deliver mini courses effortlessly, making the entire process smooth and scalable. If you've been wondering how to attract more coaching clients without relying on social media every day, this episode is packed with insights, practical strategies, and step-by-step guidance to help you create a mini course that works for you. Creating a mini course is one of the best ways to attract new coaching clients while providing real value. It allows clients to experience your coaching style, solve a problem, and trust you; making it far more likely they'll invest in your paid coaching programmes. If you're ready to build your first mini course, check out our Kajabi partner page at www.igcompany.co.uk/kajabi to get started with the best all-in-one course creation platform. Key Lessons Learned: Mini courses help clients experience your coaching style, Many people don't fully understand coaching, so giving them a low-risk way to try it increases trust. A mini course lowers barriers to entry; Some clients hesitate to book coaching because of cost, uncertainty, or lack of time. A mini course solves a small problem first, making coaching feel more accessible. People pay for speed and convenience; If you help someone get a quick win, they're more likely to invest in a full coaching programme. Your course should solve a specific problem; A successful mini course guides clients through a challenge, helping them feel a small transformation. Kajabi simplifies the process; Instead of using multiple platforms, Kajabi allows you to create, host, and sell your course in one place. A great mini course builds your reputation; Clients who see value in your free or low-cost course will share it with others, creating a natural word-of-mouth effect. Your mini course should connect to your paid services; Don't just teach, introduce your coaching offer at the end of the course so clients know their next step. Step-by-Step Guide: How to Create a Mini Course: Define the Purpose of Your Mini Course What problem does it solve? How does it connect to your paid coaching? Decide on the Length & Format Keep it short and impactful (1–3 hours max). Consider video lessons, PDFs, workbooks, or a mix of formats. Create Engaging Content Use bite-sized lessons (e.g., three 20-minute videos). Include actionable steps or exercises for engagement. Make it shareable; something clients will recommend to others. Record & Edit Your Course Use Zoom, ScreenFlow, Camtasia, or Kajabi to record. Write a script or outline to stay focused. Keep branding consistent with your coaching business. Host & Deliver the Course Kajabi provides an all-in-one solution for hosting, sales, and automation. If using other platforms, consider Teachable, Thinkific, or Podia. Promote Your Mini Course Use social media, email marketing, and website pop-ups to attract sign-ups. Encourage word-of-mouth referrals from existing clients. Salve! This is a bonus episode for paid subscribers! Every episode is a different song. This is the song today: "Tudo o Que Você Podia Ser" by Quarteto Em Cy (Lo Borges/Marcio Borges) Written for the "Clube da Esquina" album by Lô and Marcio Borges, the song marked the return of Quarteto em Cy in 1972, following a two-year hiatus. Their first album for Odeon, which was Milton Nascimento's label, a lot of the musicians involved in this recording had contributions to Clube da Esquina. The album was a commercial failure at the time, but over the years this version became a hot commodity among DJs, record collectors, producers, and rappers including Kanye West and Pharell Williams.

Michael #2: futurepool via Pat Decker Takes the concept of multiprocessing Pool to the async/await world. Create a pool then delegate the work: async with FuturePool(2) as fp: result = await fp.map(async_pool_fn, range(10)) I would LOVE to see something like this in a broader background asyncio worker pool concept. But that concept doesn't exist in asyncio in Python and that's a failing of the framework IMO. Brian #3: Don't return named tuples in new APIs Brett Cannon First off, I'm grateful for any post that talks about APIs and the API is a module, class, or package API and not a Web/REST API. The term API existed long before the internet. “e.g., get_mouse_position() very likely has a two-item tuple of X and Y coordinates of the screen” “it actually makes your API more complex for both you and your users to use. For you, it doubles the data access API surface for your return type as you have to now support index-based and attribute-based data access forever (or until you choose to break your users and change your return type so it doesn't support both approaches)” “… you probably don't want people doing with your return type, like slicing, iterating over all the items …” Alternatives class dataclass dictionary TypedDict SimpleNamespace “My key point in all of this is to prefer readability and ergonomics over brevity in your code. That means avoiding named tuples except where you are expanding to tweaking an existing API where the named tuple improves over the plain tuple that's already being used.” Michael #4: Ziglang: Migrating from AWS to Self-Hosting The Rust Foundation for example, reports that they spent $404,400 on infrastructure costs in 2023. Before comedians ever get a Netflix special, they have to run the gauntlet. Night after night, they're putting themselves out there in front of judgmental crowds and trying to win them over.Sometimes they bomb, sometimes they face hecklers, and what may be even worse: silence. Kathy Griffin once bombed so badly at a show in Montreal she said, “The audience was talking so much that they didn't know my set ended.” Ouch. But even after bombing the worst, comedians
