Paul chats with Collabro ahead of their new single with Sir Cliff Richard Mistletoe and WineSingle Release Date – 26th November 2021 “I'm finding it hard to believe that it has been 33 years since I first released Mistletoe and Wine. I am really thrilled with this newly recorded version with the Collabro boys. I love their harmonies and it was a pleasure to sing with them, and if this new version gets everyone into the Christmas Spirit we will be very happy!!” – Sir Cliff Richard Following a hugely successful tour as special guests to Sir Cliff Richard in 2017, Collabro and Sir Cliff have become close friends in the industry and have supported each other, including Sir Cliff joining an intimate gig where Collabro performed at Pizza Express Holborn and Collabro performing at the Royal Albert Hall to celebrate Sir Cliffs 60 years in the music business. Whilst Collabro were recording their Christmas album “Christmas Is Here” and Cliff was recording his “Music… The Air That I Breathe” album, they came up with the idea to re-record the festive Christmas classic “Mistletoe and Wine”, 33 years after its original release. The Collabro boys couldn't be more thankful for this opportunity and are endlessly grateful to Sir Cliff for his continued support. “It really is a dream come true and probably the most surreal thing we have ever done. This song was first released before any of us were born so we have literally heard it every Christmas our whole lives. Working with Sir Cliff has always been the most incredible experience and we really hope people enjoy this new version of the song.” Michael Auger Collabro Collabro are the World's Most Successful Musical Theatre Group. The boys met for their first rehearsal above a pub in London Bridge back in 2014. Soon after, they auditioned for ITV's Britain's Got Talent, and a month later received a full standing ovation from all four judges and the full audience at the Hammersmith Apollo. They went on to win the competition with one of the highest voting majorities of any series, and their debut album Stars went straight into the UK album charts at number one, was quickly certified gold, and became the fasting selling album of 2014. To this day, they are one of the most popular Got Talent winners ever. Last year, Collabro released their album “Christmas Is Here” comprising of a range of festive classics and an original track, the titular 'Christmas Is Here', which saw them team up once again with Ben Adams from A1. After going from strength to strength with six top-selling albums, four sell-out UK tours, two US tours, headline slots at the London Palladium, Wembley Stadium, the O2 arena and the Royal Albert Hall, this summer saw COLLABRO performing at Tatton Park Pop Up Festival, In The Park with Katherine Jenkins, Sound On The Ground Blackpool, and performing with Alfie Boe at Trentham Live and are currently on their major headline Greatest Hits Tour. Road Trip! For episode 54, Seb and Verity hit the road and head to Leighton Buzzard to chat to music power couple, Hannah Quinn and Oli Hayhurst. Hannah is a conductor, pianist, accompanist and répétiteur and Oli is a hugely in demand jazz bassist.....also dabbling in classical, commercial and world music. How do you manage to tangibly string together all the threads of Hannah and Oli's exciting an eclectic careers you may ask? Well, judge for yourselves whether with the addition of some clunky segues we've achieved this!Conversation ranges from Hannah's experiences of being head of music staff and assistant conductor at ETO, to Oli touring with Collabro and residencies at Ronnie Scott's and Blue Note in Milan. Oli also chats about working with Julian Siegel, Pharoah Sanders and Ray Gelato. Plus supporting Bob Dylan, the different Jazz scenes in London and seeking authenticity in your work.Hannah talks about her mentors, some hardcore early conducting lessons, complicated translations and rehearsing orchestras in Chinese. She also chats about working with the dancers at the Royal Opera House and the complexities of playing for class. Shine!LDS AND MEDIUM PODCAST BACKGROUND:I was born into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, or LDS for short. All my life I felt awkward and out of place, not because of my religion, but because of my spiritual gifts. It was hard to combine the idea of what first seemed like two separate worlds. So my whole life I have tried. I have learnt more about my gifts, and stayed faithful to my faith. But then I heard people left the church because it seems impossible to combine the two. So I am here, to try and mend the rift. To show that it is possible to be both LDS and to have, and use, our spiritual gifts. I am not alone on this journey, but my sister, who just is waking up to her spiritual gifts is by my side and she will also share her story.Jesus Christ, our older brother, was a healer. He asked us to love one another. So let´s follow in his footsteps. Please join me on this journey, let´s make a community of strong spiritual LDS, or whatever religion you belong to, and all work together to make this world a better place. If you like what I do, then you can find me here:https://linktr.ee/ldsandmediumIf you have words of support or stories that you anonymously want me to share please write me at ldsandmedium@gmail.com. There are no words to describe my excitement to welcome both Matt Pagan and Michael Auger back to jakes-take.com as they make their debut on The Jake's Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast. Matt and Michael are one-half of the international vocal group Collabro. In 2014, Matt, Michael, Thomas Redgrave, Jamie Lambert, and former member Richard Hadfield entered the international spotlight when they auditioned for the eighth series of Britain's Got Talent. Thanks to their superb harmonies and impeccable stage presence, the group gained a fandom called the Collaborators, won the competition, and performed at the 2014 Royal Variety Performance in front of Prince William and Princess Catherine. They also released two albums under Syco Music: 2014's Stars and 2015's Act Two. Even though Hadfield left the group in 2016, Collabro continued to perform across the United Kingdom and worldwide. The group also released three more studio albums--- 2017's Home (which featured the group's first original song: "Lighthouse"), 2018's Road to the Royal Albert Hall, and 2019's Love Like This. Matt, Michael, Jamie, and Thomas competed on Britain's Got Talent: The Champions' inaugural season and America's Got Talent: The Champions' sophomore season. Recently, the quartet released their very first Christmas album: Christmas is Here. Throughout the group's sixth studio album, Collabro delivered their stellar interpretations of holiday classics, including "O Holy Night," "Winter Wonderland," and "All I Want for Christmas is You." They also recorded their second original song: "Christmas Is Here." In this edition of The Jake’s Take with Jacob Elyachar Podcast, Matt Pagan and Michael Auger spoke about Christmas is Here’s recording process and shared a special holiday message for the Collaborators.
Michael Auger joins Shine Radio's Noni Needs for our first play of the new Collabro song, Christmas is Here. The song's release will boost fundraising for charity Help for Heroes. What does Christmas mean for Michael, how did the song come about and when can we hear more of Michael on Petersfield's Shine Radio this Christmas? Collabro singer, Michael Auger, says “We are so excited to be launching this single with Help for Heroes. With so many of us worried about the impact of the coronavirus on whether we can get together with loved ones this Christmas, it made us realise that this is what many people in the Armed Forces feel every year when they have to serve their country away from home during the festive season. We really hope that we can get the whole nation behind our single so we can get it to the Christmas Number One slot and raise as much money as possible for injured and sick veterans and their families.” Over recent months Help for Heroes, which relies on public donations for 97% of its income, has seen a 30% reduction in regular income as a result of COVID-19, with all planned face-to-face fundraising events and activities since April either cancelled or postponed. It also expects continued significant falls in the coming years due to ongoing economic recession. At the same time, the charity has seen a 33% increase in those coming forward for mental health support and a 30% increase in referrals to veterans’ clinical services. Philippa Hanna is an acclaimed British singer-songwriter, based in Sheffield, UK. Recorded in Nashville, her new album 'Speed Of Light' tackles the challenges of life head-on, offering listeners a message of hope in the face of adversity. Since her 2007 debut, Philippa has released several studio albums, an EP and a live DVD, and published two autobiographical books. As one of the most sought-after acoustic performers in the UK, she has opened tours for acts including Lionel Richie, Anastacia, Leona Lewis, Wet Wet Wet and Collabro. Born into a musical family, Philippa knew from an early age that that making music was all she wanted to do. Her music frequently draws upon her experiences of a turbulent youth, and the Christian faith she found in 2004. She aims to offer a positive message for fans: Songs like I Am Amazing and Raggedy Doll have seen Philippa champion self-esteem in young people, and she also works as an advocate for children's charity Compassion International. Fans of Philippa can support her music, her mission and her new chapter Stateside through the innovative Rocket Fuel platform, for which she acted as a flagship artist: Pick up music, merchandise, handicrafts and more at rocketfuelhq.com/philippahanna .
