By using AI-generated drafts as a starting point, businesses can save significant time and resources while still maintaining control over the final product. The human touch in optimization ensures that content aligns with the brand's voice and vision. In the podcast, Julia McCoy discussed her transition from being anti-AI to embracing AI technology in her role as President of Content at Scale. She emphasized how the AIO model has transformed her approach to content development and increased efficiency without compromising quality. McCoy's insights shed light on how the AIO model can help businesses save time and money while still retaining their unique voice. Julia McCoy discussed the benefits of using AI for content creation in the Hustle Less Profit More podcast. She stressed that AI tools provide the baseline draft, and the human's role is vital in ensuring optimal content quality. She advised against relying solely on AI-generated content, emphasizing the importance of the human touch in the editing and optimization process. Her journey from being hesitant about using AI to embracing its potential illustrates how the AIO model can revolutionize the way businesses approach content development, ultimately driving growth. "Use AI tools to create new content from your own material." - Julia McCoy Importance of Delegation and Time Management Delegating tasks is essential for managing workload and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. In the podcast, McCoy highlighted the significance of investing in individuals who can handle tasks more efficiently than the business owner, ultimately enabling the organization to scale and grow faster. She also recommended using time-blocking techniques to prioritize tasks and guard personal time, allowing for optimal productivity and focus on critical activities without feeling overwhelmed. During her conversation with Mickey Anderson, Julia McCoy shared insights on the importance of proper delegation and time management. By investing in individuals who can effectively handle tasks, business owners remove stress and promote the growth of their organizations. She emphasized that proper time management, including time-blocking and prioritizing tasks, can help business owners maintain a healthy work-life balance while still driving their organizations' growth and success. "AI will change the game, it's just a matter of time." - Julia McCoy Repurposing Long-Form Copy Long-form content is known to drive high-quality leads by providing a comprehensive take on a specific topic. Businesses can gain maximum impact by repurposing long-form content for various formats, such as videos, podcasts, or social media posts. This not only increases the content's reach but also allows the business to cater to different audience preferences. During the podcast, McCoy shared her perspective on using AI-generated content as the foundation for repurposing, suggesting that entrepreneurs carefully examine the subheaders provided by the AI tool to identify main points and adapt them into fresh content across multiple channels. This strategy can help businesses harness AI technology and amplify their reach. In her conversation with Mickey Anderson, Julia McCoy touched upon how AI-generated content can be repurposed effectively. She recommended using the main points from subheaders provided by the AI tool to inspire new formats and channels. By embracing her advice and repurposing content created by AI, businesses save resources while expanding their audience, contributing to overall business growth. "Accelerate yourself and your ideas in a way that makes your business profitable, but you don't lose a sense of who you are." - Julia McCoy Quantity versus Quality of Content Striking a balance between quantity and quality is key to a successful content marketing strategy. McCoy cited a study that found businesses posting at least 12 blogs per month experienced a tremendous increase in leads. In the podcast, she shared her approach to balancing quality and quantity by using AI-generated content as a starting point and incorporating human optimization to maintain a consistent brand voice. This approach enables businesses to produce regular, high-quality content that caters to audience preferences, ultimately driving growth and increasing search engine visibility. In her interview with Mickey Anderson, Julia McCoy addressed the challenge of balancing content quantity and quality. By leveraging AI tools to create a baseline draft, businesses can generate the necessary volume of content without sacrificing quality. McCoy underscored the importance of maintaining a unique and authentic voice throughout the content, ensuring that it effectively resonates with the target audience and contributes to the overall success of the business. Tips for Small Business Owners Starting Content Marketing Engaging in content marketing may be overwhelming for small business owners, but it plays a crucial role in driving growth. McCoy's advice for these entrepreneurs includes prioritizing website content development and seeking guidance from an experienced mentor or consultant to develop a profitable content strategy. By focusing on quality website content, businesses can build valuable assets that generate leads and income in the long run. Combining personal experiences and perspectives with AI-generated content helps maintain authenticity and fosters a strong connection with the target audience.   AI Problems People Aren't Talking About and Why You Should Care Steph has been discussing the use of AI for productivity. Here she focuses on being aware of the potential risks associated with using AI that people aren't talking about but can have a major impact on your brand. Discussing the limitations of Chat GPT and problems we can run into if we're not aware. One big one is the fact that data was pulled before 2021, so any new research with a present-day focus isn't accurate.   As a single parent with a bunch of parenting challenges and more time and caregiving needed, Steph wants to leverage her time and be as efficient as possible. She's excited to use AI.   Chat GPT is great for generating content quickly, but it's important to be mindful of its limitations. Google has filters to determine if the content was created by bots, which can lead to suppressed rankings in search engine results. Content generated by superior tools such as Content at Scale is more likely to pass these filters and appear higher in rankings. Also, copyright issues related to AI-generated content have not yet been ironed out, making it important to add a human element to generated content. Taking time to massage content and add a unique voice can help to set our content apart from others who don't have time or don't realize how important it is.   When using AI to generate content, it is suggested to comment somewhere in the content, such as at the bottom, that it was generated using AI. It is still unclear what the legal implications of using AI-generated content are, but it is recommended that the more one can have a hand in the content, the more it is theirs. One example of AI-generated content tools is the Mid Journey word-to-art tool, which allows one to type in a word and specify the style and look of the image it generates, such as the type of lighting and lenses used.   AI tools can be used to create art and content to sell online with minimal copyright infringement concerns. Julia McCoy, the founder of Content Hacker, is an example of someone who has shifted her thoughts around using AI tools to create content. She's now Director of Marketing Content at Scale, an AI company that creates natural and human-like content that passes AI checkers. They also explicitly state that what is generated using their tool belongs to the customer. Content at Scale is a paid tool, with a low-end entry point of $150.   TIMESTAMPS   0:00:00   Benefits and Risks of AI Tools for Productivity   0:01:59   Limitations and Risks of Using AI for Content Creation   0:07:40   Legal Considerations for Using AI in Content Creation   0:09:23   AI-Generated Content: How to Leverage AI to Create and Own Your Own Content   0:11:35   AI for Creative Projects: Benefits and Tips   0:13:13   AI Technology in 2023: Tips for Streamlining Your Content Creation Process   Are you using AI yet? Liz March, copywriter and beloved Content Hacker audience member, recently stated in our Facebook group for sustainable business owners:   "I know this is what's happening [80% of writers replaced by robots]. But it makes me incredibly sad to see human skills, arts, and crafts being replaced by robots.   How far humans will go to wipe out jobs just to save money and be better, more efficient is crazy. I worry what jobs will still be around in a decade when my daughter wants to look for work.   I know it's happening, and it doesn't make me happy at all."   I think Liz echoes a lot of us who have put YEARS of blood, sweat and tears into our writing craft.   I wanted to take some time to not only reassure and help Liz see the right perspective on the content industry as it changes and shifts from human-only content creation into AI-assisted content production, but help all of you adapt and have the foresight on how to adapt, too. This is a don't-miss episode with my thoughts as the now VP of Marketing for the fastest-growing AI writer in SEO marketing.   Remember to play offense, not defense. Boost Your Productivity and Efficiency Instantly with ChatGPT and Descript This episode discusses the downside of using Chat GPT and how it can negatively impact SEO. Provides a solution to improve SEO rankings, as well as a mystery tool which may help with the primary problem of Chat GPT. The conversation then shifts to the struggles of being a single parent and a mom with a sick child and how automation and AI can help to manage a business despite the challenging circumstances. Steph acknowledges the mixed feelings towards AI, emphasizing the importance of finding the right tools to make life easier.   Chat GP and Descript are two tools that can help save time when it comes to creating content. Chat GPT is an AI tool with a natural language foundation that generates robotic text. Both tools can help shave time off of content creation, allowing creators to focus more on relaxing and enjoying their work.     Steph found Julia McCoy's work through a search and was wowed by her content and offerings. Julia is an experienced writer, founder, and SEO expert. She argues that using a chatbot to generate content won't work because it won't pass Google's filters. Steph then introduces Descript, an audio and video editing and transcript creation tool that can be used to create content. It has filters that can save time, such as one that takes out large gaps in audio and video, which is helpful when you're exhausted, out of coffee, or have cognitive issues.   ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence tool to help with creating content from transcripts or audio recordings. It can remove filler words, repetitive words, and words that don't make sense—in her test, she asked is to create a series of tweets, quotes from a transcript. It can save a lot of time for those who don't have the capacity to write.  LINKS FOR CONTENT MENTIONED Content Hacker Content at Scale Descript ChatGPT     TIMESTAMPS    0:00:00 "Chat GPT: The Downsides and How to Improve Your SEO"   0:02:10 Exploring AI Tools to Streamline Writing Process and Save Time   0:03:38 Exploring the Benefits of Using Descript for Audio and Video Transcription   0:05:15 "Unlock the Power of Natural Language with Chat GPT"   0:10:08 Exploring AI Content Creation Tools with Julia McCoy of Content Hacker   0:13:56 "Finding Time for Self-Care: How Shortcuts Can Help Moms and Women Balance Life and Accomplish Goals"   0:15:39 "Exploring the Benefits of AI-Powered Content Creation with Julia from Content at Scale"   0:17:21 "Using Artificial Intelligence to Optimize Content Creation with Descript and Content at Scale"   HIGHLIGHTS    She became the VP of Marketing at Content at Scale, an AI tool that's superior in writing true human-like longform text --the best AI Julia has found. She created a concept called AIO, which is artificial Intelligence Optimization for writers, the AIO process.   My goal is to save you, mamas and women, time. Like, we have all this motivation. We have the gifts, the skills, the knowledge. We want to do these things.   Consider using tools, and leveraging them in a way that will save you time. But don't just rely on the tools. That's why I suggest taking your content in your voice, your interviews, whatever.   And this tool can create fantastic blog posts and things like that with SEO baked in. It's saved her a lot of time. I just saw her video, and it's super impressive.   Whatever the angle you want to pull from the podcast, YouTube Live, whatever it is that you're using as the foundation for Chat GPT, right? This is an incredible episode you DON'T want to miss. My first week at Content at Scale, diving deep into the world of AI-assisted content production, has officially blown my own mind – and we're gunning for some big stages in big places this year so I can reveal what I'm seeing firsthand and blow minds on a big scale.   It's utterly-beyond-words for me to be supported by a team and a CEO like the team and CEO at Content at Scale, who allow me to do my best work and the complete and total freedom of top-notch resources to do it. From video production to visual design and AIO writers, it's a team that rivals my own at Content Hacker – except I simply stay in the middle of content strategy and production, and never have to jump around. This is bringing me an unusual, unexpected peace of mind to be able to do things that scare me, like pitch to speak at Traffic & Conversion Summit this year (with 10,000 in attendance). But, there was also a sort of mental depression I went through, which I also cover in this episode – including how I got my full joy back.   In the last few minutes of this episode, I reveal a particularly incredible word I received during prayer and quiet time that is fueling every step of my path forward in unbelievable, almost unspeakable ways. I believe in the power of following your path. I believe in the power of following your passion. And if you hear these last few minutes, your mind will be blown, too, at what simply following that path means for you and even your entire legacy and family.   Listen in – this is one of the most important episodes I've ever recorded.   * The story of my pivot: https://contenthacker.com/thestory * Learn about Content at Scale: https://contenthacker.com/ai/ * See all podcast episodes: https://contenthacker.com/podcast/   * Liked/enjoyed this episode? AI is not only missing facts, but it is missing stories. AI can be useful in assisting you with your writing process, but it cannot replace a human writer. Effective branding and visual storytelling are critical components to consider when building a website. Clearly define your positioning, and ensure that your messaging is clear and you are targeting the appropriate audience — These factors should be addressed before publishing any content. NOTABLE QUOTES: "You get to own your content. You can't own it when it'sit's on any other platform." "There are nuggets of truth to find when we fail. Often when we do things right, we don'tdon't learn anything." "The difference between stumbling blocks and stepping stones is how you use them." "Pain is a necessary part of life. And we don't grow without it. But we have a choice in that growth. We can go through pain, but if we don't put the hard work in working through the pain to get to the other side, we're never gonna learn anything. So if we're willing to do that, pain leads to purpose, which leads to platform." The World Economic Forum has estimated that 85 million jobs will be replaced by machines with AI by 2025. With the unthinkable happening, and AI advancing in so many fields, how can you make sure your income and work won't be replaced easily? Simple answer: be the best at what you do.   In this episode, I break this down, including the importance of making sure your online presence reflects that you are the best at what you do. It's not enough to simply build years of experience: you must also share with the internet that you are the best, in your online presence and website. This applies to content writers, coaches, consultants, and business owners.   Reminder: Don't forget to send in your question for me to answer on the podcast if you have one for us to answer!   * See all episodes: https://contenthacker.com/podcast/   * Learn more about Content Hacker at https://contenthacker.com/ * See our brand-building services at https://contenthacker.com/brands/ * Liked/enjoyed this episode? ChatGPT launched in November of 2022, and it shocked the marketing world with how next-level it was. It's the latest iteration by OpenAI, an advancement of GPT-3 (GPT-3.5, to be exact), and a next step in creating a safe, working AI that is functional for many different writing uses. In a single weekend, it crashed with the amount of people using it to generate copy. I took it for an in-depth test run, and published my findings on our blog in an article called GPT-3.5: The Robots Are Here to Take Over Your Writing, or Are They? Exploring Copywriting AI (read it at contenthacker.com/copywriting-ai).   In today's podcast, I share with you how GPT-3.5 will impact writing, but not in a way that creates widespread replacement of the human writer (yet). However, it's fantastic for many use cases, and many more still to be discovered as the tool is used more and more.   Don't forget to send in your question for the podcast if you have one for us to answer!   * Book a call today to discuss how we can help you grow through content: https://contenthacker.com/call * See all episodes: https://contenthacker.com/podcast/   * Learn more about Content Hacker at https://contenthacker.com/ * Liked/enjoyed this episode? After failing out of college by trying to do things “the right way,” Julia followed her dream to write for a living at 19 years old. In 2011, three months after teaching herself online writing after dropping out of college, Julia founded Express Writers. She's built her company to over $5M in gross revenue completely through ad-free content marketing. Her agency team has more than 90 members that work from home, and together, Express Writers has served more than 5,000 clients, from Johnson & Johnson and Nordstrom to small B2Bs, completing over 35,000 content projects successfully for clients. She's spoken at Content Marketing World, led workshops for MarketingProfs as a guest expert, and was interviewed on Forbes as a content marketing thought leader. Julia is the author of four bestselling books and counting. Her memoir, Woman Rising: A True Story, tells the whole unbelievable life story: how she escaped her father's cult (right after she started her business), and built a life of freedom, happiness & joy. Today, she focuses on The Content Hacker as a way to pass her growth-focused content knowledge on to a new generation of content marketers — the mavericks, the radicals, the outside-the-box thinkers.
