According to our unscientific office poll, the annual changing of the clocks has all the popularity of a root canal. With few exceptions, people described the shift to and from Daylight Saving Time as disorienting, arbitrary, and unwelcome. On a more existential level, winding the clocks back and forth reminds us that no matter how concrete minutes and hours may feel, the way we perceive time is fluid. Time flies when you're having fun. A watched pot never boils. So to celebrate (or perhaps protest) another year setting back the clocks, the Outside/In team has uncovered four mini-stories that will poke at, stretch, or even obliterate your perception of time. From “time expansion experiences”, to time-space synaesthesia, to the slow-motion life of a fly, prepare for a totally different type of time warp.Featuring Steve Taylor, Rhitu Chatterjee, Kevin Healy, Katherine Akey, and Patricia Lynne Duffy. This episode was produced by Felix Poon, Marina Henke, and Justine Paradis. Send us a text Time truly is like an ever-rolling stream, and like any boater knows – either you control it, or it controls you! The closer your exam time comes, the more you become aware that your ability to manage your time is key to your success. First is awareness of priorities, and that means looking at where you spend your time. Your job, your family, eating, sleeping, recreation and studying are all important and need to fit in, but maybe in a shorter timeframe. Awareness also involves recognizing that your study time for this exam is a high priority – but not a forever priority. Studying can displace some lower priority things just now because you know you won't be doing it forever. Then you need to make choices of how to fit it all in, which will become more and more apparent the more you pay attention. Does that mean that this will be an easy process? No! But it does mean that it is doable. The greater intentionality you devote to your excursion down the river of time, the more you will find success, and even enjoyment at it. It's in there! Morning Mantra: "Do less of the 'shoulds' and do more of what feels good."Life is short – and if you're not careful, you'll spend so much time doing everything you should or have to do that you'll run out of time for things that bring you joy, that makes you happy. Make space. Create the time. It's never convenient, but it's always worth it.The recipe for happiness is pretty simple. Find out what it is that makes you happy and spend more time doing it. Find out who makes you smile and spend more time with them. Here's a great way to start this process. On a piece of paper make two columns. In column A make a list of things that make you happy. In column B make a list of things you do every day. Then compare the list then adjust accordingly. So save the excuses. It's never about having the time, it's more about making the time.#BeATimeFinder #BeHappy #BeHorsey #BeHippie #HorseHippie #MorningMantra #inspirationalQuotes #MorningMotivation #Equestrian #HorseLover #QuotesToInspire #HorseHippieBrand #HorseHippieBoutique

PLAN GOAL PLAN | Schedule, Mindful, Holistic Goal Setting, Focus, Working Moms
This podcast almost didn't happen because life got lifey—and that's exactly the point. In this episode, we get real about finding time to plan when your schedule is full, your brain is scattered, and the back-to-school whirlwind (or just…life) won't slow down. I share eight grounded, research-backed strategies—from micro-planning and pocket rituals to goal subtraction—to help you plan in motion, reclaim stolen moments, and treat planning as identity work, not another chore. If you've been overwhelmed, banana-pants busy, or stuck in “I'll plan when things calm down,” this one's your gentle reset. You'll learn: Why planning is the work—a core leadership act that sharpens your saw How to use micro-planning (2-minute Daily Top Three) to create momentum The difference between rituals vs. routines—and why rituals stick Goal subtraction: remove what's not the goal so you can focus on what is Plan in motion: walk, commute, fold laundry—reflection travels with you How to reclaim liminal “pocket” moments for quick clarity A reframing of time as identity work, not scarcity The courage to leave white space and say a powerful no Perfect for: busy parents, educators, and women leaders who want intentional planning, not hustle-harder hacks—especially during back-to-school and seasonal transitions. Welcome back to the podcast! Anna & Sara are feeling the summer heat (literally!) as they chat about the bittersweet slide into August. There's a reflection on presence, ageing, and why Pilates torture can teach us about intentional living. Love Desk: We explore three hidden forces that can quietly trash a couple's sex life: The overload no one talks about – how invisible stress and daily mental loads kill desire The mother-partner identity blur – when caregiving roles seep into romance Old generation scripts that won't die – outdated gender norms that still shape our expectations With a dose of humour (yes, even about towel folding and dishwashing), we remind listeners why being intentional matters more than lacy underwear or quick fixes. Hot Topic: Finding more time in your relationship Why “time starvation” fuels disconnection and frustration Creative ways to buy or swap time so you can reconnect The difference between transactional time and quality presence Why even folding laundry together can count (if you can resist critiquing how your partner folds the towels!) Listener Question: "My partner says they love me, but they never initiate affection anymore. Am I expecting too much, or does this mean something deeper?" We dive into what affection really means, why it fades, and how to bring it back with intentional gestures that create reciprocity, not resentment. This week is all about intentionality. Whether it's making time, showing affection, or choosing how you want to show up in your relationship, small, deliberate acts build trust and connection over time. In this episode, we dive deep into what it actually looks like to stay fit while juggling sleepless nights, toddler tantrums, school drop-offs, and everything in between. You'll hear personal stories, hard-won lessons, and real strategies to help you move forward without burning out. Whether you're running on caffeine and chaos or simply trying to make time for yourself again, this one's for you. Topics We Cover: How sleep deprivation impacts recovery, cravings, and mood Training through unpredictable schedules (and why perfection is overrated) The underrated power of community and accountability How to make workouts work with your kids (not around them) Why mindset shifts matter more than motivation Because fitness doesn't have to wait until life calms down—it should meet you where you are. Feel stuck "finding time" to write your novel? You might be solving the wrong problem. Here's what's really going on—and what to do instead. Why does finding time to write feel impossible sometimes? We blame our busy schedules (and yes, that's definitely part of it). But there's something else lurking beneath the surface that stops your writing progress dead in its tracks. And it has a way of making you feel like you're failing at this whole writing thing. Which is so not true.In this episode, I'm pulling back the curtain on why "finding time" is actually making it HARDER to write your novel. Plus, I'm sharing 3 powerful mindset shifts and practical strategies to finally break free from this trap so you can finish your novel with the life you're actually living. You'll hear me talk about things like:[02:45] Why the writers who complain most about "no time" often spend hours on writing-related activities (just not actual writing)[03:15] The hidden truth about "not enough time" that's actually keeping you stuck (hint: it's not what you think)[05:15] How decision paralysis can waste your precious writing time—and the simple fix that takes 2 minutes[06:10] Why some writers accomplish more in 20 minutes than others do in 2 hours[07:25] The mindset shift that transforms time from your enemy into your creative ally (and 3 practical strategies to implement these shifts starting today)Your story deserves to be told. Not someday when you have "more time." Not eventually when life calms down. But now, with the life you're actually living. The time is already there—you just need to see it differently.

Have you ever felt like you're doing everything "right" according to everyone else's checklist, yet something feels profoundly missing? Margaret White knows that feeling all too well. As a self-proclaimed recovering perfectionist and former overachiever, she found herself waking up one morning with the stark realization that despite her successful career, marriage, and all the external markers of achievement, she was utterly depleted. This powerful conversation takes us through Margaret's transformative journey from living by others' expectations to discovering what she calls "soul alignment." With refreshing candor, she shares the moment that changed everything – when she canceled her husband from their vacation and spent two weeks alone in the Caribbean, reconnecting with herself and hearing the whispers of her intuition for perhaps the first time in years.Margaret challenges conventional wisdom around work-life balance, suggesting we should instead seek harmony – a dynamic dance that ebbs and flows rather than a tightrope walk of tension. "We were never intended or created to work from depletion," she explains. "We were created to be poured into so that we could then give of our gifts, time, and talent to others."The discussion dives deep into what it means to get over "the overs" – overachieving, overstriving, overfunctioning, overcompensating, and overcommitting. For women who find themselves perpetually stuck in these patterns, Margaret offers practical wisdom for breaking free and creating space for what truly matters. She simplifies the often-elusive concept of alignment: "Alignment really comes down to how you're choosing."Whether you're feeling caught in a hamster wheel of busyness, struggling with permission to prioritize your needs, or simply seeking more meaning in your daily life, Margaret's parting wisdom will stay with you: "Don't shrink to fit into spaces you're not meant to be in."
