The Power of Authentic Content Creation In this episode of the Audacious Mamas show, I discuss the importance of authenticity in content creation. In a digital world filled with templated and over-edited content, being genuine and human is what truly connects with audiences. I share my personal experience with AI tools and belief that while these tools can be helpful, it's the unpolished, human moments that resonate most with viewers. This episode encourages content creators and business owners to focus on being themselves rather than adhering to rigid templates, as authenticity can be a 'scroll stopper' in a world of artificial perfection. You're the brand and the voice, not AI. I'll report back about what happens with my content if you do the same. See you in 30 to 60 days! Thanks for dropping by! Lots of Love, Steph xoxo

Hey there! In this podcast, Steph talks about the three critical things you need to know about ChatGPT as a business person. The potential issues businesses face when using AI, specifically ChatGPT. We all want to be more productive but we definitely want to be mindful of some of the downside of AI tools. She points out that ChatGPT might not give you the most up-to-date information because it has yet to be updated since 2021, which could cause problems in the long run. And a LOT of wasted time. Also, ChatGPT's generated content might lead to copyright issues because the content may not belong to you. Plus, Google filters can spot content generated by ChatGPT and might end up suppressing it. Ugh. All of these things may result in lost income, lost leads, lost time, and may cost us if we have to defend ourselves against copyright challenges. So, what's Steph's advice? She suggests using Content at Scale instead, which creates long-form content in a more human-like voice to avoid these issues altogether. Another tool that Steph recommends is Descript, which can take spoken language and turn it into transcripts that can be used as a basis for blog posts or articles--anything you want! Using a transcript of human speech and then ChatGPT, you can create content that sounds human (because it is!!) and avoid getting flagged by Google's filters--take that, Google!! So dive in with AI, it's everywhere and can save you loads of time and brainpower, but research the downside to your output if you're using it for business or selling it as a product. MENTIONED IN THIS EPISODE CONTENT AT SCALE -- REAL long-form writing with the human touch. Get 20% more writing credits using my code https://contentatscale.ai?fpr=stephani99 DESCRIPT -- to edit your audio and video and easily generate text transcripts and edit video as TEXT--it's a BREEZE! https://www.descript.com/?lmref=t41IuQ ChatGPT -- in case you haven't tried it yet--what are you waiting for? https://chat.openai.com/chat Thanks for listening! Cheers to your success! xoxo!!
AI Problems People Aren't Talking About and Why You Should Care Steph has been discussing the use of AI for productivity. Here she focuses on being aware of the potential risks associated with using AI that people aren't talking about but can have a major impact on your brand. Discussing the limitations of Chat GPT and problems we can run into if we're not aware. One big one is the fact that data was pulled before 2021, so any new research with a present-day focus isn't accurate. As a single parent with a bunch of parenting challenges and more time and caregiving needed, Steph wants to leverage her time and be as efficient as possible. She's excited to use AI. Chat GPT is great for generating content quickly, but it's important to be mindful of its limitations. Google has filters to determine if the content was created by bots, which can lead to suppressed rankings in search engine results. Content generated by superior tools such as Content at Scale is more likely to pass these filters and appear higher in rankings. Also, copyright issues related to AI-generated content have not yet been ironed out, making it important to add a human element to generated content. Taking time to massage content and add a unique voice can help to set our content apart from others who don't have time or don't realize how important it is. When using AI to generate content, it is suggested to comment somewhere in the content, such as at the bottom, that it was generated using AI. It is still unclear what the legal implications of using AI-generated content are, but it is recommended that the more one can have a hand in the content, the more it is theirs. One example of AI-generated content tools is the Mid Journey word-to-art tool, which allows one to type in a word and specify the style and look of the image it generates, such as the type of lighting and lenses used. AI tools can be used to create art and content to sell online with minimal copyright infringement concerns. Julia McCoy, the founder of Content Hacker, is an example of someone who has shifted her thoughts around using AI tools to create content. She's now Director of Marketing Content at Scale, an AI company that creates natural and human-like content that passes AI checkers. They also explicitly state that what is generated using their tool belongs to the customer. Content at Scale is a paid tool, with a low-end entry point of $150. Boost Your Productivity and Efficiency Instantly with ChatGPT and Descript This episode discusses the downside of using Chat GPT and how it can negatively impact SEO. Provides a solution to improve SEO rankings, as well as a mystery tool which may help with the primary problem of Chat GPT. The conversation then shifts to the struggles of being a single parent and a mom with a sick child and how automation and AI can help to manage a business despite the challenging circumstances. Steph acknowledges the mixed feelings towards AI, emphasizing the importance of finding the right tools to make life easier. Chat GP and Descript are two tools that can help save time when it comes to creating content. Chat GPT is an AI tool with a natural language foundation that generates robotic text. Both tools can help shave time off of content creation, allowing creators to focus more on relaxing and enjoying their work. Steph found Julia McCoy's work through a search and was wowed by her content and offerings. Julia is an experienced writer, founder, and SEO expert. She argues that using a chatbot to generate content won't work because it won't pass Google's filters. Steph then introduces Descript, an audio and video editing and transcript creation tool that can be used to create content. It has filters that can save time, such as one that takes out large gaps in audio and video, which is helpful when you're exhausted, out of coffee, or have cognitive issues. ChatGPT is an artificial intelligence tool to help with creating content from transcripts or audio recordings. It can remove filler words, repetitive words, and words that don't make sense—in her test, she asked is to create a series of tweets, quotes from a transcript. It can save a lot of time for those who don't have the capacity to write. She created a concept called AIO, which is artificial Intelligence Optimization for writers, the AIO process. My goal is to save you, mamas and women, time. Like, we have all this motivation. We have the gifts, the skills, the knowledge. We want to do these things. Consider using tools, and leveraging them in a way that will save you time. But don't just rely on the tools. That's why I suggest taking your content in your voice, your interviews, whatever. And this tool can create fantastic blog posts and things like that with SEO baked in. It's saved her a lot of time. I just saw her video, and it's super impressive. Whatever the angle you want to pull from the podcast, YouTube Live, whatever it is that you're using as the foundation for Chat GPT, right? Because it's basing it on natural language, it will turn out way better.
I've missed you! I love podcasting. I love creating content. And I so love being able to help people and earn a living. These past two months have been rough, and I don't want to sugarcoat what my kids and I have been through. I definitely wouldn't wish it on anyone. So this episode is about what life throws our way and how we as caregivers will likely take a hit when someone gets sick, needs to be hospitalized, or needs a higher level of care from us for some time. We must set up our lives to account for these gaps of complete demand on our time. Being more strategic with my earnings and creating income streams that aren't dependent on my time is now an absolute necessity, as is my daughter's recovery and overall mental wellness as a family. There's no question that these are dark times. I accept that. Heaps of doom and gloom are being served to us, and it's nearly impossible to dodge. Important news and events impact our lives and the lives of fellow humans. But dwelling in the darkness doesn't serve us, and we will all be better off finding ways to reach for and stay in the light. I believe that when we're in dark times, it's a good idea to focus on what's good and possible, find more purpose, and create ways to make life better. Doing so has a positive ripple effect in life, and anyone around us can feel it. It creates hope and gives us the fuel we need to impact change. So I'm inviting you to tune in and do your best to play along with me weekly as we try to stay in the light to spite these dark times and the swirl around us. Mother's Day - Honoring Moms through loss - celebrating YOU! Man, it has been a crazy wild last two years, and I was thinking about this episode and how to honor moms and all that moms have been through because I think of all that people have been through, the most significant weight has been put upon mothers and mother figures, caregivers, for sure, over the last two years. And so some moms are just spent and at their wit's end, and some mothers, through all of this, have learned to figure out more self-care, how to realign themselves, maybe with better jobs or with delegating things around the house so that they can take back their time and not be this wonder woman, super supermom. And then many of us also have lost parents. I lost my mom 16 years ago. Her mom right after that, so two maternal figures poof!--both were gone. I didn't have my kids until two years later, but that hole was there. Through this pandemic, so many people have lost their parents, their mothers, and loved ones. Or their parents are battling illness now. It's a lot, and it can make this day a big mixed bag of emotions. I get it. I'm sharing some thoughts about my mother, my grandmother, the sorrow I've felt for my mother never meeting my children, and how I turned that around last year, determined to start a new tradition for Mother's Day. And I have some ideas for turning things around for yourself so life can be sweeter and you can maintain more life in life in spite of inflation, pandemics, and dark news in the world. Avoid Burnout - learn from these Entrepreneurs and tap into intuitive guidance for your business Entrepreneurship can be a lonely and stressful journey. It's important to avoid burnout by learning from those who've been on the path just ahead of you. Tap into your intuition and let it guide you to success. I noticed some of the entrepreneurial women I adore and look up to were sharing some of the same challenges. All followed the same patterns and hit a point of burnout. While none of these women are mamas yet, they have inspiring success stories and a willingness to be vulnerable and share openly. There's so much to learn from them! Sadly, this came with a loss of identity, being subsumed into their businesses and following the leaders and coaches with a blueprint to follow—and by being hyper-focused by stats, followers, and views. They had no time to reflect on what makes them happy and what motivated them to create their businesses. They had the sense that success was solely about building millions and their lives were missing the personal aspects of fulfillment and joy in life that aren't related to income. They all shared similar ways of recovering. A lot of what they shared that helped had to do with being "true to themselves," listening to their inner voice, intuition, and what their bodies were telling them. Basically being guided by internal cues vs. focusing solely on external forces and voices. This episode is all about my observations following Sunny Lenarduzzi, Vanessa Lau, and Cathrin Manning. Each has their own story, and if you're not familiar, all have YouTube channels, so I'm linking some key burnout and lessons learned videos they shared. Check out Sunny Lenarduzzi's story Check out Vanessa Lau's story Check out Cathrin Manning's story If you're interested in slowing down and listening to your intuition, check out this episode about surrendering to your feminine. Do you have a burnout and recovery story? I'd love to hear what helped you get through it and what you do now to avoid burnout. Shoot me a message! Thanks for listening, subscribing, and leaving a review!! xo Sending Lots of Love and success to you!
This last week was school vacation week for lots of us in the US. Many of us moms had kids with us full time at home, vacationing, or maybe you got lucky, and they were at a fun day camp. Whatever the case, everyone's schedule is different, and things shift around. Even the best-laid plans can result in challenges and disappointments. Sometimes, I have these crazy days and weeks where nothing is working, and my mind feels like it's spinning. One of my favorite ways to help myself calm down and relax when this happens, which you might not know about. I'll whip out an Oracle card deck because those always seem to give me the guidance and specific message I need at the moment. Cool! If you haven't used them or heard of them, Oracle cards are a free-form way to get spiritual guidance or your daily message. I love working with an Oracle Card Deck by Alana Fairchild called Sacred Rebels. It's one of my favorites because it has such beautiful artwork on every card and excellent descriptions, making them easy to understand for anyone at any level. In this episode, I chose a card with a beautiful message that I think will resonate with busy mamas, and it ties into my next episode about what happens when we push too hard and detach from our intuition. It's International Women's Day 2022, as I post this. I'm thrilled to feature Amy Wong, an incredible Mama who's an executive leadership coach advising leaders, executives, and teams on all things related to growth, transformation, and flow. Here Amy shares the lightbulb moment after she had her first child and how she's shifted out of the traditional "shoulds" that are the formula for success and learned to tune in and feel her way to what truly lights her up, helps her live on purpose, be happy and truly thrive. Consider how anxiety, stress, living in survival mode, and being resilient often takes us OUT of our bodies and our natural intuition. We have the best of intentions but it skews and amplifies some of the most negative unhealthy emotions that make us feel stuck. So many thoughts here about shifting out of that and learning to BE and listening to our natural urge for something more. And, how that shift can be the biggest gift to regaining our sanity as moms and thriving and finding abundance and joy! Check out Amy's NEW Book! Coming May 4th. Hey, all it's new year's Eve. And I just wanted to send a message to say that I hope you have an amazing 2022!! This year was intense. The last quarter was off the charts energetically. It was both good and bad. And I know many people are saying that it's a little bit like being on a see-saw and apparently that is not likely to change. So buckle up and get grounded, take time to go within before you hit the ground running this year. And I just wanted to say, I appreciate you! Thank you for hanging in there with this podcast. In this interview, I touch on a new research study that found one of the top 3 things people look for when considering a service is, "Do they have a nice website." I know, I wouldn't have thought that was so important! The second finding was a blog where you share your ideas. In the study, they found it equivalent to being a self-published or a NY Times best-selling author. WOW. If you happen to be using WordPress and you're considering a membership site, please listen to this. Justine explains why it's essential to think about whether or not it's the right solution for you—it could be costly. He shares about being an Audacious single Dad of two boys and the flexibility entrepreneurship affords him as their sole caregiver. He explains how he differentiates his business from other web developers by offering stellar support round the clock. (I can attest to this—his team is fantastic, it's why he's on!) In this episode Justin explains why he started supporting 10X Pro.io, the platform that I'm using, instead of sticking solely with WordPress. There's a hustle, push push push mentality in the air with all entrepreneurs, and it's troublesome for women and moms who are bearing the heavy load of parenting and domestic chores. That's a FACT. This approach can lead to physical and mental burnout and a feeling of never being good enough or getting enough done. I'm calling B.S. on this idea. I encourage you to STOP and RELAX throughout the day to increase your energy, mental state, creativity, optimism and ultimately create a greater sense of success in your life, business, and relationships. This episode covers the underlying masculine hustle mentality and how I see it negatively impacting mompreneurs and working moms. - Given what's happening in our world, issues from past traumas are surfacing, and it's affecting all of us but especially women who are not in the habit of slowing down to identify what's going on internally and figure out how they can recover from setbacks that are emotional, mental, or physical. - I discuss giving yourself the time to feel, heal, and deal with what's coming up. Journaling, meditation, taking time out to relax intentionally to calm your nervous system. Walks, yoga, meditation, puzzles, time in nature, baths, swimming, breathing, stretching, napping, massage, whatever works, to soothe and help you feel safe and at ease, aiming for a relaxation response. - I share therapeutic approaches that can help where specific Traumas from your childhood or past are coming up as abandonment, abuse, loss of a loved one or miscarriage, car accidents, moves, divorce, job loss, radical changes in life, etc. Some of these therapies are listed below. - Being open to the idea that you can hop off the hamster wheel and attend to yourself to create more success vs. pushing to do more. Google this concept to find loads of examples of entrepreneurs who figured this out after burning out and turned their businesses into multi-million dollar success stories. We've been through colossal change collectively this last year. So when I saw the research by EvolveMKD, I knew I needed to share it on the podcast. They found a strong link between communication and mental health in women, and some of it flies in the face of the idea that we are better communicators. In this episode, I share some of the key findings, the different styles of communication women have and how each type of person is impacted differently in terms of mental health. This aspect of the study is helpful for connecting with your clients via social media, language on sales pages and offers, how we choose to connect in-person, and the potential big wins around live events and retreats. Key points from the study: Of the Americans who reported a change in their mental health, more said it worsened during COVID-19 than in the last 10 years: Women are more impacted by those around them than men - 69% let other people's emotions affect their own 75% of women said their mental health was negatively affected by COVID-19 compared to 50% of men 90% of women said COVID-19 impacted the way they communicate with others. And 1 in 4 said their relationships deteriorated. Social media had a more significant negative impact on women than on men--30% vs. 18% of men. EvolveMKD worked with Dr. La Keita Carter to develop tools for women to check in on their mental health before communicating ('Mental Health Checklist'). Grab the Research Study on Communication by Evolve MKD which includes the Mental Health Checklist https://www.evolvemkd.com/research/ What do you think? Let me know! I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic. Does this resonate? Did this study inspire you to reevaluate how you connect and communicate with your audience and clientele? If so, how? I interviewed Judy Giovangelo, energy worker, healer, artist, and founder of Ben Speaks, her non-profit raising awareness for highly sensitive kids who are at risk for self-harm and suicide. Judy lost her son Ben to suicide when he was just 18. She and Ben made heroic progress over his 18 years and learned ways for him to cope with all the energy and emotions he absorbed like a sponge. Her mission is to expand on that work, to be a buoy for families and siblings impacted by and managing a mental illness. She works with kids to help them manage their energy and sensitivity to others, equips them with powerful tools to navigate life and relationships in a more grounded peaceful way. Judy also works with parents who've experienced loss as a grief counselor. After what we've been through this year, struggling to stay mentally healthy, I'm happy to share her wisdom and will do what I can to give this as much exposure as I can.
Mother's Day is a tricky time of the year. We take time time to reflect on our mother-daughter relationships. And it's also a time to celebrate the love of all mothers in the world. This year, Caroline Nadine Helsing can celebrate by knowing her book about her mom came to life. She captured the essence of her mom by writing a memoir, a beautiful tribute to her mother's unapologetic love for glamour and fabulousness in all things. Many moms I know are deep in grief this time of year because they lost a child, a mother, a mother figure, an unborn child. There's so much attached to this holiday, so I wanted to share your thoughts along with my interview with Caroline. I asked you to leave a message about motherhood, your mom, what you've learned as a mother, what your mom taught you, and anything you want to throw in about this past year and you did! Thank you!! I have a handful of lovely mamas who contributed their thoughts, and I'm including them below. Lots of us are totally fine with our podcast website and we don't give a second thought. On the other hand, there are plenty who dream of a better website but don't think they can afford it. I get it. I was pushed to look for a quick and easy solution and happily found an awesome platform that pulled my site together fast and it was SUPER EASY!! In the episode, I cover WHY it's worth having a solid self-hosted website to capture email addresses, reviews, get more subscribers, blog, and connect with your audience. - Check out Podpage to preview your podcast as a new website - Why owning your domain name on a self hosted website gives you credibility - Ways to connect more directly with your listeners - See the temp (new) site at AudaciousMamas.com - Use affiliate link for podpage: https://www.podpage.com/?via=stephani - I'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU AND ABOUT YOUR OFFERING!! The Clubhouse app isn't exactly new, but it does seem to be catching on, and maybe you've heard about it for a while, but you haven't felt compelled to jump in. Or perhaps you want to stay the course and avoid yet another social media. I get it! Time is scarce, and the question of whether it's worth jumping to another platform is legit. Here I explain some of the pros and cons of this compelling new platform and the basics of how it works. If you're looking to feel more connected from time to time, is it THE BEST way to create high-value connections and partnerships quickly? It's an intimate platform, so there's a lot less posturing and more GENUINE relationships. If you're looking for free learning and mentorship, ways to connect with angel investors, get brand deals, or connect and become a better speaker or a full-blown influencer in a new arena, this platform has it all. Plus, they're rolling out their Creator First program, and you could have support for your own show with sponsorship or with Clubhouse paying you $5K/month for the 3 months you work with them to launch your show. Not bad! Here's more about the app itself and the Creator First program with the application below. The deadline is March 31. Laurie Wright is an example of patient persistence and going with the flow when inspired. Laurie shares her inspiration to write her first book and the many years that passed before she had the courage and time as a busy mom to dive and do something with it. This interview is timely because Laurie's books are all about supporting kids, something all ours need in this time of quarantine. Many moms are home and out of work, not by choice, and looking for motivation to pursue an idea or passion, especially one that can bring in more income. I want to share this episode to show you what's possible for you. In this episode, we cover... What inspired Laurie to write her first book How long it took and the circumstances that led to her revisiting her book and deciding to get it published What's the investment for getting a children's book published Common challenges and mindset issues for people getting their book off the ground Laurie's bulk book orders on Amazon Her husband becoming co-owner of the business and working part-time in his day job Domestic life: how Laurie and her husband divided time and chores Early success with her books and the road to becoming a book coach Importance of not getting caught in perfection How many books Laurie sells in a day Pushing through perfection "If you try, you can either be successful or be unsuccessful. Emma Ferrick embodies all things this podcast stands for. She's a young mother who survived a dangerous domestic violence relationship and found the support and internal strength to reach for a better life when many in her condition would be paralyzed by fear. Her reality was a catalyst for extreme growth and pursuit of career goals that liberated her from her day job, allowing her to be with her daughter while growing her business. What gave her the edge and helped her push through this extreme situation. Emma shares her story here. What stands out for her success surviving this situation and thriving as a mompreneur. Emma had an aunt who experienced abuse with a partner, so she understood what it was. Emma had a family member who "got it" and could lend emotional support and perspective. Often all it takes is ONE person who understands to help us get through and come out the other side with hope. Find that one person! She allowed her abuser's mother to see her physical condition after she was attacked. She documented everything and continued to record details while her case was in court and beyond. She did the math. So many women are afraid to look at the numbers and see where their income falls short. When you look at the numbers and face them head-on, you can make a plan to close the gap financially and get ahead. She decided to start a side hustle to earn more income and break free from her 9-5 job. She invested in herself and hired a coach to overcome the fear related to her abuse and any blocks holding her back from success. She found a supportive and loving partner. Her partner encouraged her to start her business and was her cheerleader and mentor. She's not afraid of her story. The more she shares it on podcasts and makes it a part of her business platform, the less fear she has. She's owning her story and setting herself FREE. We've never before been in a time like this. Life is a giant rollercoaster, and events are intense and changing rapidly. The mental and emotional toll of all of it has put us in a place we've never experienced before. Never before have I seen the need to be hyper-aware of my mindset, energy, consciousness. And when I fail to stay conscious, I slip into a dark place. I'm emerging from a dark place with optimism sharing my thoughts on why all of us need to be aware of our energy and consciousness. I'll be spending more time covering this on the podcast. Also, my thoughts supporting women and moms focused on expanding our economic freedom via entrepreneurial pursuits. So if you have a side hustle in mind or are keen to build, start, or grow your business, stay tuned. I have some fantastic interviews set up with women who offer value in getting your business set up and structured correctly for efficiency, simplicity, and the least amount of effort. In September of 2020, a reported 865K women left the workforce in the US. Many of these women are caregivers and moms who felt they had no choice but to step away from work to keep their children's education on track and keep their family intact. In this episode, I share some stats, helpful resources I've found for you to gain support, learn skills, and gain hope for starting over with the flexibility to care for yourself and your family. The pressure on parents is off the charts right now, but the burden on women is far more significant as we fill the role of primary caregiver and often earn less than our male partners. America was not, is not, prepared to support working parents. We cannot send our children to school for a full day, and many child care centers have reduced service or shut down completely. And given the pandemic's precautions, it's that much more difficult and expensive to hire a qualified, healthy caregiver, babysitter, or nanny to support us at home. Moms in business often search for other successful moms and women in biz who've created something special that resonates with their own ideals and dreams. We see her as a symbol. If she can do it, why not me? But..it takes a while to find that person who reflects the qualities you connect with including thinking BIG and achieving something more substantial with meaning. Greta Bajrami is that rare find. Greta is the Owner and Founder of Golden Group Construction. She started the company at just 21 years old while still attending Worcester State University. And nothing in Greta's upbringing or early adult life hinted that she would step into a male-dominated industry as a young mom and fresh college grad. She hustled her days in college and nights she learned customer service waiting tables at Legal Seafoods. But when she and her husband Freddy sparked an idea for the roofing industry, they shared a big vision and went for it. Together they built a trustworthy company built on integrity, a high level of personalized customer service, attention to detail, and utmost respect for homeowners. All these qualities and years of hard work created a multimillion dollar company while Greta was still in her twenties -- she's barely 30 now! She embodies the bold character and tenacity I think of when I envision an Audacious Mama. She is it! I'm proud to share her story here, I hope you will too! Mentioned in this interview.... I'm so proud of this interview with Leah Carey, Host of Good Girls Talk About Sex and Sexual Communication Coach. She's an incredibly articulate and sensitive interviewer who gives women the opportunity to share their intimate thoughts and experiences related to sex. Her show is a guilty pleasure and a window into women's minds and sexual behavior. We discuss coming of age in an emotionally abusive relationship and how that impacted Carey's perspective on sex, her sexual choices, and shut her down from the experience of pleasure and voicing her desires. On the upside she's made this her career now and is sex positive - emphasizing communication for partners so everyone expresses their needs, has them met, and enjoys sex - that's the goal anyway. Listen to your intuition. Believe in the ideas and the sense of things you have deeply embedded in your heart and mind. Focus on the optimistic positive outcomes in spite of what seems present. You will begin to see changes and your expected results. Here Steph shares where she's heading with the two podcasts, what's around the corner, and a powerful message of hope that arose from a distant bleak memory of leading a double life and living in fear. A favorite relevant passage from a special book by Ernest Holmes, The Thing Called You. "It is certain that you must fast from fear if you wish to establish faith. You must fast from confusion if you hope to enter into tranquility. It matters not if your transitions from the negative into the affirmative seems slow, if the ascent from your valley of negation to the mountain top of realization seems difficult. Each step will bring you nearer the summit." Here for digital strategies and tips? Check out -> The 6-Step Formula for Creating Succesful Promo Videos Check out -> Your Social Roadmap.
