Thema heute:    Nissan eröffnet neues Presswerk in Sunderland Im britischen Werk in Sunderland hat Nissan sein neues, 60 Millionen Euro teures XL-Presswerk eröffnet. Die Installation der über 2.000 Tonnen schweren Anlage dauerte 18 Monate und ist Teil einer 460 Millionen Euro hohen Investition zur Produktion des neuen Nissan Qashqai – der dritten Generation des Erfolgs-Crossovers. Im Rahmen der Eröffnungszeremonie wurden die ersten Karosserieteile mit der neuen Anlage gefertigt. „Als hier im Jahr 2006 der erste Qashqai vom Band lief, schuf er das Crossover-Segment“, sagt man bei Nissan. „Mehr als drei Millionen Fahrzeuge später bleibt der in Großbritannien konstruierte und hergestellte Qashqai der Maßstab dieser Fahrzeugklasse.“ Das gesamte Team, das hinter dem Pressenprojekt steht, unterzeichnete das erste gepresste Karosserieteil der neuen Anlage – einen Kotflügel für den neuen Juke, der ebenfalls in Sunderland gefertigt wird. Im März 2020 feiert der Juke seinen zehnten Geburtstag. Die neue Version wird seit Oktober 2019 ausschließlich in Sunderland gefertigt und setzt neue Maßstäbe für Technologie und Konnektivität in der Fahrzeugklasse der kompakten Crossover. „Ich spreche für das gesamte Werk, wenn ich sage, wie stolz wir sind, die neue Version des Juke auf den Straßen zu sehen“, erklärte Steve Marsh, Vizepräsident Fertigung im Nissan Werk Sunderland. „Unser Anspruch ist es, den Juke weiterhin in der Qualität zu liefern, die unsere Kunden erwarten. Zu sehen, wie die ersten perfekten Teile aus der neuen Presse kommen, erfüllt uns ebenfalls mit Stolz und zeigt, welche Fähigkeiten wir hier am Standort aufweisen.“ Das neue Presswerk umfasst ein Recyclingsystem zur Trennung und Verarbeitung von Schrott sowie die Aufrüstung der bestehenden Stanzanlage, von der aus flache Zuschnitte – die pressfertigen Bleche – zur neuen XL-Presse geführt werden. Das neue Presswerk ist in der Lage, jährlich mehr als 6,1 Millionen Fahrzeugbleche mit einer kombinierten Maximalkraft von 5.400 Tonnen unter höchster Präzision zu verarbeiten. Diese Investition für die Produktion des Qashqai kommen zu den 115 Millionen Euro hinzu, die in die Einführung des neuen Juke investiert wurden. Sie sind wiederum Teil einer geplanten Gesamtinvestition in das Werk Sunderland von insgesamt 1,15 Milliarden Euro über einen Zeitraum von fünf Jahren. RCM DMV Grenzlandrennen und gewannen erstmals im Porsche 911 GT3 R vor den Falken Teamkollegen Stef Dusseldorp und Alexandre Imperatori im BMW M6 GT3. Damit geht der 1. September 2018 in die Geschichte von Falken Motorsports ein. Schon im Zeittraining des sechsten Laufs der VLN Langstreckenmeisterschaft 2018 trumpfte das Falken-Duo mit starker Performance auf und belegte den zweiten und dritten Startplatz. Der Start zum 4h-Rennen erfolgte bei idealen Rennbedingungen: Sonnenschein und 15 Grad. Ab der ersten Kurve übernahmen die beiden Falken-Rennwagen die Führung, welche sie bis zu den ersten Boxenstopps auch nicht abgaben. Während dieser Anfangsphase legte der Porsche 911 GT3 R mit Startfahrer Klaus Bachler eine beeindruckende Rennpace an den Tag und brannte mit 7:56.259 Minuten eine weitere Rekordrunde in den Asphalt. Im weiteren Rennverlauf entbrannte an der Spitze ein Kampf zwischen Audi, BMW und Porsche. Von entscheidender Bedeutung wurde dabei ein cleveres Reifenmanagement. Falken timte die Reifenwechsel perfekt und konnte zu fast jeder Zeit die Gegner auf Distanz halten und so das Rennen von der Spitze aus kontrollieren. Bei Überquerung der Ziellinie stand der erste Doppelsieg in der fast 20-jährigen Zugehörigkeit zur VLN-Renngemeinde fest:     2. Das anhaltende starke Wachstum im SUV- und Crossover-Segment und schärfere globale CO2-Regelungen führen dazu, dass viele Autohersteller auf leichte, thermoplastische Heckklappenmodule setzen, um dadurch Gewichtsersparnisse und eine Reduzierung des Gesamtgewichts des Fahrzeugs zu erzielen. Allein im Jahr 2017 kamen rund ein Drittel des weltweiten Fahrzeugabsatzes aus diesen Segment.
