Il 2024 è stato un anno di stabilità per Volkswagen. Con circa 120mila unità vendute in Italia, il brand tedesco è stato il terzo marchio in termini di immatricolazioni e ha potuto contare anche su un buon rinnovamento di prodotto. Quello da poco trascorso è stato infatti l'anno della nuova Tiguan ma anche del restyling di T-Cross e Golf, tornata sul mercato con grande energia. Il 2025 non sarà comunque da meno sul versante lanci: è in arrivo a marzo Volkswagen Tayron, un suv Made in Germany che si colloca in gamma tra Tiguan e Touareg - spiega Andrea Alessi, direttore di Volkswagen Italia.

El Volkswagen Tiguan es el modelo más vendido de la marca desde 2017. Desde su lanzamiento en 2007, ha vendido más de 7.6 millones de unidades. En su tercera generación, el Tiguan presenta un diseño renovado, más tecnología y motores más eficientes. Su interior está equipado con materiales de alta calidad y nuevas pantallas de 15" o 12.9" para el sistema de infoentretenimiento, además de botones físicos en el volante. Ha crecido en longitud, alcanzando los 4,539 mm, y ofrece mayor espacio para pasajeros y carga, con un maletero de 652 litros. Hay ocho motores disponibles: cuatro híbridos (dos de hibridación ligera y dos PHEV) y cuatro sin hibridación (dos diésel y dos gasolina). Los cambios automáticos de doble embrague tienen seis velocidades para híbridos enchufables y siete para el resto. La suspensión adaptativa DCC Pro ofrece 15 niveles de dureza, y el precio inicial es de 36,600 euros para el motor de hibridación ligera de 130 CV. En términos de seguridad, el VW Tiguan ha obtenido 5 estrellas en las pruebas realizadas en el laboratorio TASS en Alemania. La valoración global de seguridad para ocupantes adultos es del 83%. En el impacto frontal global, obtuvo una valoración de 10.7 puntos sobre 16 posibles, con buena calificación en el pecho del acompañante y del piloto, pero penalizado por el exceso de rigidez en el frontal, donde un tercio está calificado como baja, otro tercio como pobre y el último tercio como adecuada. fEn el impacto frontal con 100% de solape, la calificación fue adecuada para el piloto en el pecho y deficiente en la pelvis, mientras que el ocupante trasero tuvo una calificación baja. En el impacto lateral global, el Tiguan logró 15.1 puntos sobre 16 posibles, con buenas calificaciones en el pecho y cabeza del piloto tanto en el impacto lateral contra barrera móvil como contra mástil. El desplazamiento del piloto al lado opuesto fue calificado como adecuado. El vehículo cuenta con un airbag central delantero que funciona correctamente. En términos de alcance, el Tiguan obtuvo una puntuación de 3.6 de 4, con buena calificación en el asiento delantero y baja en el trasero. En rescate y extracción, logró una puntuación perfecta de 4, siendo el primer coche en obtener esta puntuación en nuestras pruebas. Tiene hoja de rescate, eCall avanzado, sistema de freno multicolisión y cumple con las normas de inmersión de vehículos. La seguridad infantil tiene una valoración global del 88%. En el impacto frontal, obtuvo 16 de 16 puntos, con buenas calificaciones para los dummies Q10 y Q6. En el impacto lateral, obtuvo 8 puntos, con buenas calificaciones para ambos dummies. Se utilizan sillas VW branded Britax Römer KidFix i-Size en el ensayo. Las características de protección obtuvieron 7.3 de 13 puntos, mientras que la instalación de los SRI alcanzó los 12 puntos de 12 posibles. Las plazas laterales son i-size y tienen top tether y aviso de presencia de niños, mientras que la plaza central no tiene isofix ni top tether. El Tiguan tiene detección de niños en las tres plazas traseras, incluida la central. La protección para usuarios vulnerables de la vía tiene una valoración global del 84%. La seguridad pasiva en caso de atropello logró 30.1 puntos de 36 posibles, con buenas calificaciones para cabeza, pelvis, fémur, rodilla y tibia. A pesar de todas estas características, para mí, la valoración global del Tiguan es una decepción, ya que tiene mucho camino por recorrer en términos de seguridad pasiva. Hoy hablamos de la apuesta de Volkswagen por la electromovilidad, la digitalización y su renovada estrategia en el segmento SUV. En los últimos diez años, los SUV han triplicado su presencia en el mercado y VW ha respondido renovando su línea con siete modelos, incluyendo eléctricos. El Nuevo Tiguan: Un SUV Renovado Nos enfocamos en el nuevo Tiguan, la tercera generación de este exitoso modelo, que desde 2017 ha vendido más de 7 millones de unidades. Este SUV de 4,5 metros se sitúa en el punto medio de la gama de VW. Ahora, el Tiguan es más eficiente y está muy enfocado al confort, acercándose al nivel del Touareg. Diseño Exterior e Interior El Tiguan se ha renovado por completo con un diseño exterior más musculoso e imponente, manteniendo proporciones elegantes. Ha mejorado su aerodinámica con un coeficiente de 0,28 frente al 0,33 anterior. Su tamaño general varía poco, manteniendo una longitud de 4,50 metros y una batalla de 2,7 metros. El maletero ofrece 652 litros de capacidad, con una banqueta trasera corrediza y reclinable. En los modelos mild hybrid, el maletero es de 490 litros debido a la batería. El interior del Tiguan ha sido completamente rediseñado. Ahora cuenta con un aislamiento acústico mejorado y lunas dobles a partir del acabado medio. La pantalla de infoentretenimiento ha crecido a 15 pulgadas, y los asientos han sido mejorados significativamente. La consola central ahora incluye inserciones iluminadas, una novedad en la marca. El botón central es el Driving Experience Control, un nuevo selector rotativo con pantalla táctil OLED que permite seleccionar distintos ambientes y modos de conducción. Tecnología y Confort El cuadro de instrumentos digital de 10 pulgadas ahora proyecta información directamente sobre el parabrisas, en lugar de utilizar un cristal adicional. El asistente de voz incorpora tecnología ChatGPT. Respondiendo a las sugerencias de los clientes, los botones táctiles en el volante han sido reemplazados por botones físicos, y el selector de cambio está ahora en la columna de la dirección. This third model will add to production of the Polo and Polo Vivo at the Eastern Cape production site. Biene emphasises that this third model will be "on top" of the other two models, and that it will not replace any existing production units. The third model is expected to be a small, more affordable sports-utility vehicle (SUV), slotting in under the T-Cross. A possible fourth model could potentially be a half-ton bakkie. Biene says the third model will also be an internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicle, and not an electric vehicle (EV), as the uptake of EVs has been "very slow" in South Africa, with zero government support to boost the sale of this new technology. She adds that a swing to EV production at Kariega could potentially see Volkswagen lose its leading position in the local market, and "we don't want that to happen". "If we produce EVs here, we need strong local demand." Biene says she also expects the ramp-up to the phase-out of ICE vehicles in Europe in 2035 - a big export market for VWSA - to be less steep than originally anticipated, providing the company some breathing room with Polo exports. VWSA expects to still produce and export the current Polo and Polo Vivo until 2029. The Polo Vivo is exported to some sub-Saharan African markets, while the Polo is exported to numerous markets abroad. VWA produced 140 430 vehicles last year - 7 182 more than in 2022. Production is expected to grow by 10 000 units this year on the back of expanded Polo numbers. Polo exports already increased by 3 500 units last year, to 101 557 units. Combined domestic Volkswagen and Audi sales reached 67 411 units last year. The Vivo was the group's best-seller, at 23 904 units, up 15% on 2022 numbers. Looking ahead, Biene says VWA will introduce the new and refreshed T-Cross, Tiguan, Touareg and Crafter models this year. The ID.4 EV will also make its debut as part of a test fleet, which should give VWA the opportunity to test the local appetite for EVs. He plans cost-saving "performance programs" and the need for a leaner, more agile company structure.Schaefer called for an immediate freeze on spending, citing high operational costs, and planned to introduce "performance programs" aimed at saving the company over $11 billion over the next three years.The company is set to begin sales of the electric-powered ID.7 sedan in Europe soon, and it also plans to unveil new-generation combustion-engine Tiguan and Passat models.Schaefer criticized the existing structures and processes as being too complex, slow, and inflexible.
