Erin O’Malley is one of the coolest, raddest ladies you will ever meet. She’s a five-time Emmy nominated television and film producer and director. More importantly, she also has a healthy obsession with Broadway musicals. Which I am not mad at. If you recall the famous character Molly Shannon created on SNL, Sally O’Malley, you’ll know why I saved Erin to be episode 50! As you’ll hear me gush, Erin’s resume is extremely impressive, so saddle up. Her producing credits include Da Ali G Show starring Sacha Baron Cohen which earned a Primetime Emmy nomination; The Sarah Silverman Program; Curb Your Enthusiasm, which earned four Primetime Emmy nominations as well as four Producers Guild Award nominations; The Grinder starring Rob Lowe and Fred Savage, and One Mississippi, the critically raved about Amazon Studios series starring Tig Notaro, New Girl starring Zooey Deschanel, Single Parents staring Taran Killam, Leighton Meester, and Brad Garret, and Bless This Mess starring Lake Bell and Dax Shepard. Also as a television director, O’Malley has directed episodes of Fresh Off The Boat, Speechless, New Girl, Single Parents, Bless This Mess and Curb Your Enthusiasm. Phew, right? Empowering LGBTIQ+ and BIPOC men and women is one of her core values. Hearing her talk about her approach to the work, to the humanity of producing, was incredibly inspiring. She has been nominated for a Women’s Image Network Award for Outstanding Show Produced by A Woman for her work producing New Girl. Bless This Mess was awarded a ReFrame Stamp by Women In Film as a mark of distinction in hiring female identifying people in four out of eight key arenas in production. A graduate of USC’s School of Cinema-Television, Erin has made her roots in Los Angeles where she lives with her wife and two daughters. This week, we chat how Larry David helped her with a big learning curve, what it’s like to be responsible for 400 individual jobs, and the path of a non-writing producer in TV. Pedro Cinemaxunga (podcast Nas Nalgas do Mandarim) regressa.

Da Ali G Show is a British satirical television series created by and starring English comedian Sacha Baron Cohen. In the series, Baron Cohen plays three unorthodox journalists: faux-streetwise poseur Ali G, Kazakh reporter Borat Sagdiyev, and gay Austrian fashion enthusiast Brüno Gehard. These characters conduct real interviews with unsuspecting people, many of whom are celebrities, high-ranking government officials, and other well-known figures, during which they are asked absurd and ridiculous questions. The first (2000) season originally aired on Channel 4 in the UK, and the second and third (2003–2004) seasons on HBO in the United States. The second series was known as Ali G in da USAiii in the UK and Australia.[1] In 2005, HBO stated they had no plans to make an additional season of the show.[2] Baron Cohen has gone on to make four films featuring each of his three characters from the show: Ali G Indahouse (2002), Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2006), Brüno (2009) and Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020). In 2014, FXX reaired the show (including episodes unaired in the United States) under the branding Ali G: Rezurection.[3]

Is It Rolling, Bob? Talking Dylan

Peter Fincham, television producer, tells a hilarious story concerning Dylan’s manager and a Bob tribute band. He moves on to Every Grain Of Sand and the Bootleg Series (“Angelina is impenetrable” but it’s “a magnificent vocal performance. He sings it as if his life depends on it”). At boarding school, Peter rejected his peers’ predilection for Deep Purple and found a taste for “songs with acoustic guitars”. Dylan’s trip into the Sinatra songbook is considered, plus missing tracks from Shot of Love and Infidels, before we move on to Blonde On Blonde and other major works. Peter Fincham was Managing Director of Talkback Productions, Controller of BBC1 and Director of Television for ITV. He developed programmes including The Day Today, Never Mind The Buzzcocks, I’m Alan Partridge, Da Ali G Show, Green Wing, The One Show, Downton Abbey, Broadchurch and The Only Way Is Essex. (Apology to Bella Weiland, our engineer for this episode: I mispronounced her surname and didn't have a chance to correct it. It's pronounced WAYland, not WEEland...) - LH Trailer Listeners: please subscribe and/or leave a review and a rating. Twitter @isitrollingpod Spotify playlist Recorded 12th October 2018

Together, they get into a lot of mischief and create amazing comedy. They’ve collaborated on films such as Superbad (which they first conceived as teenagers), Knocked Up, Pineapple Express, The Green Hornet, and Funny People. They have also written for “Da Ali G Show” and “The Simpsons.” In 2013, Evan and Seth released their directorial debut, This Is the End. In 2014, Seth starred in and produced (alongside Evan) Neighbors, which was a worldwide comedy hit and has taken in more than $268 million worldwide. In December 2014, Rogen and Goldberg’s film, The Interview, became the most-talked-about news story around the world. Under extremely difficult circumstances, the film persevered to become Sony Pictures' #1 digital title of all time. Neighbors 2 is shooting now and will be released next May. Seth and Evan are also in production on Sausage Party, a raunchy animated movie for adults about one sausage's quest to discover the truth about his existence. Seth and Evan are producing the film with Megan Ellison and Conrad Vernon. In our conversation, we discuss all manner of tactics and silliness, including: Kyokushin karate Writer’s block and related debates Writing process Who are the most underrated comedians and comedy writers? How Superbad got made... after they first drafted it around age 13 The odd book Judd Apatow recommended to them (also Woody Allen's favorite) How The Kids in the Hall influenced them The movie they both wish they'd written Common pot mistakes Recommended newb pot for working versus relaxing Will there be a McLovin spinoff?
