There's plenty of lingering questions about the future of the Treaty Principles Bill. More than 300,000 written submissions were made to Parliament's Justice Committee - 90 percent of which opposed the bill. NZ Herald political reporter Jamie Ensor says David Seymour has refused to back down, and he's disputed the public is against the bill. This week Nick talks to George EnsorGeorge Ensor is the portfolio manager for the RGI UK Listed Smaller Companies Fund and the River UK Micro Cap Investment Trust. He joined River Global Investors in 2014 as a UK equity analyst, following his role as a private client investment manager at Smith & Williamson Investment Management. George holds a degree in Chemistry from the University of Bristol and is a CFA Charterholder. Nick and George discuss, his journey into investment management, starting with his chemistry degree and eventual move into equities, driven by the challenge of taking contrarian views in the market. He outlines his experience at Smith & Williamson, where he gained exposure to global multi-asset management, client service, and investment allocation. Transitioning to River Global (formerly River & Mercantile), he details the firm's evolution, including its listing and eventual return to a boutique-style setup. He explains the structural differences between open-ended small-cap funds and closed-ended micro-cap investment trusts, emphasising how micro-cap funds exploit liquidity premiums and offer high-conviction investments.George also discusses the challenges and opportunities within UK small-cap investing, noting cyclical market trends, liquidity constraints, and shifts in investor sentiment. He highlights how UK small caps have been underperforming large caps due to external factors like interest rates, economic cycles, and regulatory changes. He believes in the long-term growth potential of UK small caps, citing past market recoveries and potential reforms such as pension fund adjustments and British ISAs. The conversation further delves into investment strategies, including the balance between growth, quality, and recovery stocks, and explores specific holdings like Keystone Law, DF Capital, and Renold. He expresses concerns about undervaluation in the market, private equity takeovers, and the impact of passive investing on small-cap liquidity. Despite current challenges, he remains optimistic about the cyclical return of capital inflows into UK equities and the opportunities available for disciplined investors.George's book choices where: Thinking in Bets: Making Smarter Decisions When You Don't Have All the Facts - Annie Duke https://www.amazon.co.uk/Thinking-Bets-Annie-Duke/dp/0735216371/Quit: The Power of Knowing When to Walk Away - Annie Duke https://uk.bookshop.org/p/books/quit-the-power-of-knowing-when-to-walk-away-annie-duke/7098911George's music choice was: The Best by Tina Turnerhttps://open.spotify.com/track/4OeFQtRyT7vsLnRTv7t8YTThis content is issued by Zeus Capital Limited (“Zeus”) (Incorporated in England & Wales No. 4417845), which is authorised and regulated in the United Kingdom by the Financial Conduct Authority (“FCA”) for designated investment business, (Reg No. 224621) and is a member firm of the London Stock Exchange. Prime Minister Chris Luxon had to do some damage control after some controversial remarks were made by members of NZ First. This week, NZ First's Shane Jones yelled 'send the Mexicans home' - and Winston Peters told Green MPs they'd come with ideas 'foreign to our country' and suggested they show some gratitude to New Zealand. The Mexican ambassador has since raised concerns with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Peters says he looks forward to discussing it with him at Waitangi next week. NZ Herald political reporter Jamie Ensor says Luxon has to strike a difficult balance by condemning these comments but not explicitly criticising members of the coalition. I truly loved this conversation with my long time internet friend, Elizabeth Ensor. Elizabeth is so inspiring to me. She is intentional in her role as a wife, mother, home educator, a creative and as a woman. She wants to make the most and the best with what she has, and she is doing it! In this episode Elizabeth shares with us about the guide she created to glean wisdom from mothers farther along the path than we are. After Elizabeth's mom passed away, Elizabeth missed being able to talk to her mom with questions and really she had a yearning for godly wisdom from seasoned mothers. So she made what she was looking for! Learn all about this resource she made. She tells us more in today's episode. Where to find Elizabeth: Find her website here Find her Seasoned Moms guide here Find her on Instagram here Resources mentioned in this episode: Find the Seasoned Moms Interview Guide here Some favorite quotes from this episode: “My mom was always right there and very intentional about what we did.” Elizabeth Ensor “Her approach to motherhood and life has inspired me and every good part of me is from her!” Elizabeth Ensor “There is this idea in the business world, this 3 percent rule that if you invest back into yourself, you set money aside, then you are going to grow as a person and a leader. So even as a mom and home educator, we may not be bringing in a lot, but our emotional health and wisdom runs the home.” Elizabeth Ensor “Every seasoned mom just tells me to enjoy it. Enjoy your kids.” Elizabeth Ensor “Wisdom is mentioned in the Bible over 200 times and we are commanded to seek it.” Elizabeth Ensor “We need to have the humility to say, ‘I don't have this all figured out and I need some help and wisdom from someone farther along than me and someone whose children I admire. Those are the people I want to learn from.” Greta Eskridge “The investment you make, not just in your children but in yourself as a mom, to raise your children well is valuable.” Greta Eskridge “Whatever season I am in, I want to fully enjoy it.” Greta Eskridge “We need to be heard in the moments when it's hard and then we need to be reminded to really celebrate, even when it's hard, because the seasons don't last forever.” Greta Eskridge
One expert predicts the Government will be grilled over the Mike King saga once Parliament returns from its recess. Labour has called for Gumboot Friday's funding to be pulled after its campaigner told Newstalk ZB alcohol is a solution for mental illness. King stands by his statements and says there will be evidence proving him right - but has not provided research. NZ Herald political reporter Jamie Ensor says Minister Matt Doocey says the Government will continue to fund the charity - despite Labour's opposition to the move. As these things happen when we are on the road, we met a Canadian in Ostend, Belgium. Radio Juxtapoz was on the road for the annual Crystal Ship and as we love with the mural festivals we get to see the process, the ideas and the creation of so many works from so many different practices. Katie Green creates masks, what she calls "intimate watercolour personas that are eerie and ethereal." On a mural level, this requires participation and something quite unique. Her project, as she notes on her IG, "is a community driven process which uses handmade masks as a way to build community, find healing, and explore aspects of self. By designing and wearing a mask, invited participants are given the opportunity to present society with an internal, alternate, or imagined part of themselves. The mask creates a safe space—both expressive and anonymous—to share oneself with the outside world."Like Ostends' beloved James Ensor, "Katie uses masks as a symbol for intrigue. Masks are a passageway between what we perceive on the outside and the mystery of what lies beyond. In Ensor's work, his masks are unpredictable and we are invited to befriend our own imaginations as we ponder the hidden subjects. In this project masks become an extension of self, where each participant is guided through a curated process that brings them closer to their internal landscape." So for Crystal Ship, Green worked with the community to create masks, and chose this particular mask as an ode to the city and Ensor's work. And we have her on this episode of Radio Juxtapoz. The Radio Juxtapoz podcast is hosted by FIFTH WALL TV's Doug Gillen and Juxtapoz editor, Evan Pricco. Episode 137 was recorded by Gillen in Ostend in April 2024 during Crystal Ship. Headstorm: https://headstorm.com/AGPILOT: https://headstorm.com/agpilot/Hemprino: https://www.hemprino.co.nz/ Prime Future Newsletter: https://primefuture.substack.com/ We've all heard the stats about how little of what consumers pay makes it back to the farmer or rancher. Some producers, like New Zealand sheep farmer Paul Ensor, are seizing the opportunity to capture more of that value. "A lot of farmers don't know where their produce goes once it leaves the farm gate, but we're very well connected and we know what standards they require for us to grow the wool under. And so it's all about adding value and the best way to do that is be better connected to our end customer, farm to fashion."Paul is capitalizing on this farm to fashion opportunity in a number of ways, including his own natural fiber brand called Hemprino, which is a blend of 80% fine merino wool and 20% hemp. "There's a lot of wool blended with synthetic fibers to give it various attributes, whether to make the yarn stronger or more durable or give it some stretch. So we thought, well, why can't we do that with another natural fiber?"Hemprino has been successful and Paul says he's having a lot of fun, but running a consumer focused business on top of a farming operation, is not an easy challenge to take on. "The supply chain is very challenging. So like when the wool leaves the farm, it's almost at times up to 18 months before we can have a garment to sell. So just all that managing that time from leaving the farm gate to hitting the store, if you like, has been quite challenging."Paul Ensor of Hemprino talks to guest host Janette Barnard on today's Future of Agriculture podcast.

Our past creates the present and the present influences the future. All things are influenced by our subconscious thoughts developed throughout experiences in our life. By getting vulnerable and exposing those experiences, we are able to remove any roadblocks that we are either aware or unaware of. Thanks to Jason Ensor for continuing to be a driving force in all aspects of life and for being vulnerable with his story. Surround yourself with the best, be vulnerable in every aspect of life, and continue to reach new heights. It's inevitable if you allow it to happen. Let's go!timeisundefeated.net
The men are finally finished with the games and teleport themselves to Ensor in time for some shenanigans and the meeting of the leaders of various armies. This may be the beginning of the end for Abaxxis. --- Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/naturalones/support

I had a fantastic chat with Rebecca Tolin and Robert Ensor. Their work and success exemplify Finding Hermes, for the mind holds many secrets to healing and individuation. They'll share their inspirational stories and integrative techniques on how to access the mysteries of the psyche that can overcome depression, anxiety, and even sickness. We touched on Jung and we touched on addiction, but we totally covered so many holistic ways to renew your mental and physical health. You want self-knowledge, you got self-knowledge.More on Rebecca: https://www.rebeccatolin.com/More on Robert: https://www.robertensor.com/Homepage: https://thegodabovegod.com/ Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/aeonbyteAB Prime: https://thegodabovegod.com/members/subscription-levels/ Virtual Alexandria Academy: https://thegodabovegod.com/virtual-alexandria-academy/Voice Over services: https://thegodabovegod.com/voice-talent/ Astro Gnosis (Meet the Archons): https://thegodabovegod.com/meet-archon-replay/Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/aeon-byte-gnostic-radio/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy
John Ensor (President of PassionLife), Ben Sulser (of Church of the King in Evansville, IN, and Ensor's son-in-law), and Tim Bayly continue their conversation on abortion. The first half of the conversation roamed afield as we discussed singleness, womanhood, manhood, abortion, being pro-life, preaching, and the Church. This half turns to abortion, specifically, beginning with the difference between the responses of Christians in China and Christians in Europe and America to preaching that opens up the guilt of abortion. We also discuss the criminalization of abortion, incrementalism vs. abolitionism, the "safety net" of Roe v. Wade, and contraception. * * *PassionLife's mission is to work "as a prolife global missions partner to missionaries and indigenous Christian leaders, where the plague of abortion, infanticide and gendercide is especially concentrated."Evangel Presbytery's Abortion and the Church—mentioned in this episode—is available in electronic format here (for free) and in hard copy here (for pay).Out of Our Minds Podcast: Pastors who say what they think.
