I truly loved this conversation with my long time internet friend, Elizabeth Ensor. Elizabeth is so inspiring to me. She is intentional in her role as a wife, mother, home educator, a creative and as a woman. She wants to make the most and the best with what she has, and she is doing it! In this episode Elizabeth shares with us about the guide she created to glean wisdom from mothers farther along the path than we are. After Elizabeth's mom passed away, Elizabeth missed being able to talk to her mom with questions and really she had a yearning for godly wisdom from seasoned mothers. So she made what she was looking for! Learn all about this resource she made. She tells us more in today's episode. Where to find Elizabeth: Find her website here Find her Seasoned Moms guide here Find her on Instagram here Resources mentioned in this episode: Find the Seasoned Moms Interview Guide here Some favorite quotes from this episode: “My mom was always right there and very intentional about what we did.” Elizabeth Ensor “Her approach to motherhood and life has inspired me and every good part of me is from her!” Elizabeth Ensor “There is this idea in the business world, this 3 percent rule that if you invest back into yourself, you set money aside, then you are going to grow as a person and a leader. So even as a mom and home educator, we may not be bringing in a lot, but our emotional health and wisdom runs the home.” Elizabeth Ensor “Every seasoned mom just tells me to enjoy it. Enjoy your kids.” Elizabeth Ensor “Wisdom is mentioned in the Bible over 200 times and we are commanded to seek it.” Elizabeth Ensor “We need to have the humility to say, ‘I don't have this all figured out and I need some help and wisdom from someone farther along than me and someone whose children I admire. Those are the people I want to learn from.” Greta Eskridge “The investment you make, not just in your children but in yourself as a mom, to raise your children well is valuable.” Greta Eskridge “Whatever season I am in, I want to fully enjoy it.” Greta Eskridge “We need to be heard in the moments when it's hard and then we need to be reminded to really celebrate, even when it's hard, because the seasons don't last forever.” Greta Eskridge

We are more connected than we think. Connected to ourselves, the people around us, to the energy of the universe, and to the wisdom that past souls have to offer us. There's a synergy present and available because of this connectedness, as if just by being together, something powerful is being accomplished. Although our physical plane and all the ways we are societally programmed make experiencing this greater sense of connection difficult, we always have the power to tap into it and receive the answers that we're looking for. Inaya is here seeking wisdom of what to cultivate going into her upcoming trip to Egypt. She's feeling excited for what the trip holds, but there's a lot of uncertainty to unpack. With this reading we venture into a lot of her past lives in order to receive the messages she desires. Today, Inaya and I have an expansive conversation about the interconnectedness of life and how we are each bound by love, all across time and our lineage. During her reading we touch on: How you have your own special blend of magic, and that you are here to nurture this magic and share it with the world The power of forgiveness How your past lives affect your life today How we have the capacity to elicit change just by BEING with each other The way we can change things though time and space Interconnectedness and the truth that we are all here joined together in love I hope this reading reminds you of your unique magic, and your capacity to do exactly what you want as you create your life. In this episode, Estevam shares some highlight moments of growing up on board — getting to experience some “typical teenager” things while being in a most non-typical environment! He tells about growing in his faith, gaining wisdom through relationships with the adults on board and learning about different cultures. Wise beyond his years, Estevam will give you some deep things to ponder, while making you laugh. * Last week, in our study of the book of James, we considered what it meant to "Count it all joy WHEN you fall into various trials." We saw that the word for "joy" actually DOES mean to be gleeful and happy. We saw that the term for "testing" means to be tested and proven as genuine, real, or legitimate. We also discussed that the Greek word for "patience" used here is the word "hupomonae" which literally means "to remain under." Hence, the assaying of our faith, through trials which determine it's genuineness, actually help to cause our faith to be matured and complete in order that it is not lacking in any manner. * If, as we are engaging the trial, we recognize that we lack the wisdom to deal with it, we are instructed to ask God for wisdom in how to handle it because He has promised to liberally give wisdom to all who seek it! * Last week, we purposefully skipped over a critical word in our study in order to deal with it more fully in this message. It is the word translated as "trial" in verse 2. The Greek Word is peirasmos. It is literally, "a troublesome situation." These situations, as we see in this passage, can either strengthen your faith or reveal your need for confession, cleansing and sanctification. Most translators choose to translate the word two different ways in this passage - trials and temptations; but, it is the SAME word! * God has much to say, through James, in a short space, regarding His and our relationship to the peirasmoi with which we meet. * This message was presented on September 24, 2023 by Bob Corbin.
* Last week we began a study of the book of James by considering James' declaration that God (the Father of lights) is the giver of good, moral gifts and every perfect bestowment. * This statement was made at the end of James' opening words, and immediately after the exhortation for the Jews of the Dispersion not to be led astray. * What was it then that James had declared? What was subject which we should be careful of not being led astray about ... and should be regarding as a good, moral gift and perfect bestowment? * We find the answer to that question immediately after his introduction. "Count it all joy WHEN you fall into various trials." * The early believers were facing extreme trials of their faith, how should they respond? Why were seemingly bad things happening to good people? * We will be considering this portion over the space of two weeks. For today, we want to consider our response and reaction to trials - WHEN YOU FALL INTO TRIALS. * This message was presented on September 17, 2023 by Bob Corbin.

Hey Sis! We have gone through so much of my book in 2022–4 parts to be exact. Now we will kick off part 5–Gaining Wisdom. Today's devotion is about how the devil makes us question the things God told us. The scripture reference is Genesis 3:1 (NIV). God gives us wisdom. The Holy Spirit speaks truth to us and guides us on our paths. There are times the enemy will come in and make us doubt what God told us by presenting a different and more enticing option. We have to be wise enough to make sure we know the devil is real and he seeks to destroy us, and we have to be wise enough to know that God's way is always best. So when God speaks a Word to you, and temptation comes, know that the temptation is not from God. Eve did not act in wisdom when she began this conversation with her enemy. She took the bait, and boy, did she pay the price. We are all capable of making the same mistake that Eve made. So don't let the devil get in your head. This is such a good devotion, Sis, so listen up! If you enjoyed the content from this minisode, be sure to grab a copy of my book: Goodbye Heartbreak, Hello Purpose: A 365 Day Devotional to Journey through Emotional Healing, Spiritual Growth, and Purpose from my website www.kandiceabateast.com, and don't forget your lined journal so you can communicate with God on this journey. Hey Sis! HAPPY NEW YEAR! I'm so excited that you're joining me in 2023. I love that you're committed to becoming the best version of yourself. I will continue reading devotions from my book in 2023. And in January, I will be reading from part 5–Gaining Wisdom. Today's devotion is about laying the foundation for gaining wisdom. The scripture reference is Proverbs 9:10 (NLT). Truth be told, I almost skipped reading from part 5 of the book altogether. It's the shortest part of the book. But as I was reading through some of the devotions, and I knew I could not deprive you of the goodness! Sis, Godly wisdom is essential on this journey of life no matter what season you find yourself in. You should do all you can to gain Godly wisdom because it helps you make the best decisions for your life, but how do you gain wisdom? As with everything, it's a process, and today we're going to talk about how to get started. God's ways are contrary to the world's ways. The world will make you believe the only way to gain wisdom is to go to school and learn from certain people, maybe even develop certain skills. However, to truly become wise, you have to get to know God. This process may not sound like a lot of fun, but if you really begin to seek Godly wisdom, you will see a total shift in your life. Listen, to this devotion Sis! You'll be glad you did! As we enter into 2023, we are offering you a 23% discount off of the paperback and digital copies of the book and the journal to celebrate! The sale started New Year's Day and ends at midnight tonight (CST). Take advantage of these incredible savings! Just use the promo code: NEW23 for your discount. It's been two years since the passing away of actor Irrfan Khan, and we can't help but wonder how names have an impact on what a person becomes. Irfaan means knowledge, wisdom. It's the power and wisdom that Irrfan exuded in all of his performances that made him a legend. So, in this episode of Urdunama we celebrate the man Irrfan for his irfaan, and the power he exerted on his craft. Tune in as Fabeha Syed reads some of the gems of Urdu poetry that focus on the importance of knowledge, wisdom, learning, and tell us what it means to be aware - of ourselves, god, the world around us, and life, in general.
