What's going on everyone. Aaron Cournoyer and welcome to another episode of MLM Hackers Radio. I'm Aaron Cournoyer and this is MLM Hackers Radio.   What's up it's Aaron Cournoyer! And and welcome to another episode of MLM Hackers Radio. In today's episode, I'm going to talk to you a little bit about how you handle rejections by breaking false beliefs. Now, this is something that is super key that you need to learn is about how breaking false beliefs will handle objection or rejection. I'm sorry. But what it'll do is if you're able to break down the false beliefs that every everybody has, your prospect has, you won't get the rejection. And by breaking down the false beliefs, you'll already have handled those objections and put out those objections that they're going to say. Because most, most people have the all kind of the same objections, you know, is this gonna work for me? Am I gonna make money? You know, I don't know how to sell. I don't know how to do this.   I don't know how to do that. And you know, or they have some kind of other objection that's like deeper, like I don't want to fail and stuff like that. And we're going to talk to him. I talk to a little bit about how learning these skills, like learning these false beliefs and then how you can actually like apply them, um, to, uh, your prospect. Excuse me. Um, and how you need to really sell them on one big, one big. The one big idea, um, that will knock down the rest of the dominoes. The one big domino that will knock the rest of them down. The rest of them down or the one big thing that they need to a know before actually signing up or yeah, well before they actually do sign up, um, before they even take the opportunity to have you break this false belief for breakdown this, there's one big thing you'll uh, you'll break down all the rest of the objections that they have.   So, um, I want to first start off by like, if you do like, uh, this concept of you want to know more in like a super in depth training on this concept. So, um, but I want to start off as like, there's a, there's a book called the four hour work week by Tim Ferriss and ah, in this book he talks about what he does on a weekly basis, um, for, for what, what he works. And it's the four hour work week. And there's a group of people that were like, you know, they wanted to follow him around for like two weeks and like we want to see what your day to day life is, what, how is it, what do you do?   And they finally said, okay. He's like, but it's going to be pretty boring. And uh, so they follow around and in for the two weeks, you know, he would like one day he would do yoga for a while and then he would, you know, meditate and walk around, go on walks and stuff like that. And they're like, how do you get so much done when you're just doing all this? And he goes, now this is key. Here this is key. He goes, when I sit there and I meditate, I think about the one big thing that standing in front of my prospects way that I need to knock down and all the rest of the chips and all the rest of the dominoes just fall over. Hmm! That's huge. So that's what I'm talking to you about today. That's why I said you the one big thing you need to figure out like for Mlm it's is this opportunity going to make me money and is this going to help me make money?   That's what people want to know. That's the one big idea that they all have but it all still comes down to them having objections based on the vehicle, the external and the internal false beliefs that they have. And we all have these same exact false beliefs. Are these, yeah, these all he's seen false beliefs and you know when it comes down to it, some of us, some people are here that we got to really realize like what is the reason people are here? And that's something you've got to like Kinda like sniff out a little bit when you are prospecting. But the reason why we're all here is ultimately to make money now because some people want to just make a little bit of money. They want to supplement some kind of income so they can pay a little bit more or you know, make an extra 400 bucks, 500 bucks a month or 100 bucks a month, whatever it is.   Some people like to have the culture be around, um, be around the people and the energy and they liked the product and, but they also want to make a little bit of money too on the side. And then some people want to be like super filthy rich. Like me. I want to make $1 million so I can help tens of thousands of people and give back. And that's the only way I can do it is by making that, you know, making that money and excelling in the business. Um, so we all need to realize all, at the end of the day, it all comes down to they want to make money. Everybody gets into MLM to make money. I don't, it's not about the product, it's about them making money. So the one big idea I have to you have to sell on is is this going to help me? Is this opportunity going to help me make money?   And by doing that, you have to kick down the one big thing, the one big domino that is holding them back. And you have to show them that this business, this MLM or MLM, the industry is the solution to their problems that they're having. And if you guy, this is the big thing, if you can knock down that one big domino, the rest will follow. Now you also have to understand that this comes down to three different false beliefs. This is a vehicle, false belief, the external false belief in the internal false belief. Now let's dive down, dive in a little bit about what these all are about. Now your vehicle, uh, false belief is like is this, can this really helped me make money? Can this vehicle that you're presenting me, this opportunity you"re presenting to me. Can this really help me make money?   And you know, sometimes it comes down to like people have had a bad experience in MLM, some people have done it before. Some people you know, have heard stories about MLM or um, saw people that went through, went through MLM and are never marketing company and they failed and they didn't, they, you know, like they've seen something or they've heard something. Those are more of the vehicle base objections and you have to really break it down and be like, that's why I said you have to show them that this business and the industry is a solution to their problems. That's how you break down the vehicle more the vehicle. Um, false belief. Now then let's move on to the external. Now, external false beliefs are like the reasons why they don't believe they can do this. And that comes down to like, I'm not good at selling or uh, I'm not a good marketer.   I don't have a big network. And you have to break that down and say, you know what? That's okay. I'll show you how to talk to unlimited people without family and friends. And you don't have to be good at selling and you don't have to be good at, you don't have to be tech techie and know a bunch of code and all that stuff. I'll show you a way that you can do it without that. And that's how you can break down an external belief on internal belief is like something like why they don't believe they can do it. Like deep down in their gut and deep down their stomach, they have a reason, like they don't believe they can do it. Like they're afraid of failure. Like we're all afraid of failure. Like they're afraid that they're going to fail. They're afraid that someone's going to know that their peers are going to judge them or they're going to be looked at weird, uh, for doing it on the Internet.   Those are all internal false beliefs that we all have as humans. Cause it's natural, we're all, we don't want to get hurt, you know? And that's why when you do talk to your family and friends, sometimes they tell you like, no, that's no good. You don't want to do that. That's, you know, you don't do that stuff. I heard those things don't work I heard they're a scam. Like you know, we don't always necessarily like realize that are, you know, our our family and stuff, they're just trying to protect us from being hurt. They don't want to see us get hurt. And that's why they bring up those things. And that's an internal belief, a false belief that really, um, that, that when you have to dig deeper and know like the external ones are easier but the internal ones are a little harder. Those are the ones you have to like really dig and understand.   Like how do we break that down? Like how is it that we can actually say we understand, you know, we understand how you feeling. I understand that's the way it's been and the only way you can break down, I believe the internal belief is by showing them it works. That's the only way it's showing them it works. And that you have a system that you're going to give them, that they can follow, that will help them succeed. And I think that's the only way you can really break down the internal belief. Um, but you can really also always say like, yes, I get it. I, I, I felt the same way. Like you have to let them know that it also was okay and you know, or that it's okay for them to feel that way because you've been through that, you've done that, but you have to show them that it works.   Um, so that, that's really what it comes down to is breaking down the three false beliefs, the vehicle, the external, internal, once you're able to really master that like take some time and really think what are the big problems, uh, with the vehicle based objections, internal base objections, the int, uh, the external base objections. Like what are the objections that you are constantly gonna get and how can you a break bring, you know, bring that to the one big idea and each of those categories, vehicle, external, internal. How can you bring that one big idea? And knocked down all the rest of the dominoes, the rest of the rejections by that one big thing. So that is your homework. You've got to take a look at it and see how you can do that in your business. Most of us, I gave you a good a way you can, you can do it because most of us are in MLM if you're listening to this anyways.   But like I said, if you want to learn a lot more about this and get really, really in depth, like a really in depth training and understand a lot more cool different tactics you can use, that'll help you, uh, on this, on this breaking down false beliefs. Welcome to the Marketing Seekers Podcast. I got a special treat for you guys today. So, I found my 2 Comma Club X group, we've got some amazing entrepreneurs. One of the people who signed up this year was Justin Guarini, who is the dude who was on the first season of American Idol. He took second place to Kelly Clarkson, and then he was in the movie Justin and Kelly... I guess it was called. Then now he's the Dr. Pepper spokesman, a bunch of other cool things. He's a super awesome guy. He jumped into our community recently and then came for Lucky Live and joined the coaching program. He just launched his very first funnel. Anyway, it's fun watching him geek out, and it's super cool. Today he posted his funnel of live, actually a couple days ago, his funnel was live. Today he posted basically his ads aren't working yet and he's not sure what to do, and a little frustrated. Super positive still, but just kind of like, “It's not working yet.” Today I just really did a quick Facebook live into 2 Comma Club X groups, specifically to him, but to everybody. I thought it was really good, and some really important things for you guys as well. I'm going to just post the Facebook live here so you guys can listen to it. It's about 20 minutes long and the whole theme of it is what do you do while you're waiting for your paid ads to work. If you've been ever stuck in that situation, hopefully this episode will help you out a lot. Thanks so much and I'll keep the theme song. When we come back, I'll go directly into that Facebook live. Thanks everybody. Hey, what's up everybody? This is Russell again. Hope you guys are doing amazing. I know this is me going live twice in six hours, but when I'm on a roll, I'm on a roll, right? No, I'm just kidding. Last night, I went live and talked to you about some of the cool things I'm planning and thinking about for 2 CCX. And then, this morning I woke up, and I was going through my feed, and I saw the post that Justin made about his funnel going live, and the ads not working yet, and him being frustrated, and his post is really good. Hopefully you guys all had a chance to read it. I started sitting here this morning as I was taking my kids to the office, and I was like, “Okay, if Justin was sitting here, and he came to my office, what would I tell him? What would be the very first thing?” I had an idea and I thought it was really cool. I want to share with you guys, so I hope you don't mind. Is it okay if I just go live real quick today? My inner circle meetings start here in 30 minutes, so thought I would just take a moment out and insure it was, because I think it would be helpful for a lot of you guys, especially in a lot of you guys who are in this coaching program. You're here, you're on a budget and you're trying to figure things out. You spend all the time and the effort, the energy, going in, creating the funnel and the offer and getting it live and then you do all the work behind that. Which takes time, especially the very first time out the gate. The very first time you go and you do all the work and the effort to create it, and so you spend the time, the energy, the effort, you get the offer done, the hook, the story of the copy, all this stuff, the funnel. You're like, "Okay, now it has to work," and you're nervous, what if it doesn't work? And you put everything into it and then you go and you put a Facebook ads and Facebook ads are the greatest and the worst thing at all, because you go write the ad and then you go get submitted and approved and put your money and all kinds of stuff. Then you wait and then something happens, the day the ad gets approved or you spend $100 and nobody buys anything. Or you spend $1000 nobody buys a thing and you're like, "Ah." And you're like, "I don't even know what to do now. Do I stop the ad? Do I change the funnel? Do I change the offer? Was the offer bad? Did I screw the whole thing up?" And all this fear starts coming. That's where a lot of use get to, and then you're like, "I don't know what to do." And then you're like, I'm out, or I'm going to bail, or I'm going to want to lean in like girls keeps saying, but I don't know what to lean into. What do I do? Where do I shift? That's where a lot of you guys are at. And that's what Justin posted yesterday or maybe it was this morning. First of all know that I feel for you, I know that pain and that frustration and that fear and all the things that go into it and you're like, "Man, I spent three months building this. I don't even know what to change or what to write." Then there's that fear. I wanted to step back and give you guys some, some advice and hopefully some hope and belief because it's definitely the pieces needed right here in the journey. What I would say is, first off, it's interesting now this funnel, I have a to funnel hacking live as you know my keynote intro presentation, I talked about the different phases of business, from going zero to a million, million to 10, 10 to 100. The whole thing between going from zero to a million is by far the hardest phase, I think. It's also the most exciting, I love the startup phase. That's why I love the coaching, I love that piece of it. But what's interesting is going from zero to million, the biggest things you have to figure out, there's two questions to figure out. The number ones is what am I selling? It's not what do I want to sell? It's what does the market actually want? That's the first thing. The second thing is, how do I sell it? So the what in the how? I was talking about what am I selling it? How am I selling them? Part of the what is initially, it's a guess like, "Okay, I'm guessing this is it, maybe this is it." And you put out there and you just hope that it's the thing and sometimes you know about the hands, boom, the market is like, "That's what I want," and they freak out and is really good. Other times you put it out there and the market, doesn't really want it or not very many people and that's okay. Don't get discouraged. For me it took a whole bunch of what's before I hit click funnels. 14 years of what's, but what's cool about it is each of these different what's you're putting out there, can increment a lot of success where you're growing your list, customers are buying, more people get to know you. You create the next thing and the next thing and they all build upon each other to like boom, something hits. Don't freak out. The very first thing you put out there doesn't have to be a million dollar winners. Just the act of getting out there, because the very first thing you put out is the hardest because you have to learn all the steps. I had to learn how to build a funnel and drive copy and do a hook and an offer and create a product and do an E-cover and put it. All the things, and I always tell people, my very first product I ever created was a software product called Zip brander. Looking at Zip brander as a whole was a complete failure. I think I've probably sold 200 copies Max, but at the same time it was the biggest success that I've had because it was the first time I did the whole process from a to z, where I bought the domain, got graphics design wrote copies, created a product, start a driving traffic, made a few sales, and even though it wasn't my million dollar thing it was like I did the process once and the second time I was like, "Oh, this is easy." I already know who I'm getting for copies, doing design. The next part became really easy. Every funnel after that, I kept doing funnel after funnel until I started having some big successes. First thing is just the fact that you got the first thing done. That's huge, that's the what, the second is how, what am I selling and how am I selling it? That's the second question is how do I sell them? Ideally the the end goal is I want that Facebook ad, I can scale, I can just spend $1,000 a day and then make 5,000 a day. It's just rolling. That's where we're all trying to get to, but the reality is, and I want to step back for a minute because the reality is paid ads. Well that's the holy grail. That's what we're trying to get to. It's not always the first thing, in fact, I didn't do paid ads in my business for the first decade, which is crazy. 10 years of my business before I ever paid for that. It's interesting because nowadays we always leave, go to paid ads. The reason why is because as soon as you can get paid ads to work, it's the holy grill and life becomes super easy. But it's not always the easiest thing at first, especially right now where you create the ad, you put the time and effort and energy in and then like, "Oh, are you going to pay for the ad?" And then like "It didn't work" and then like, "Oh, what do I do?" And you tweaks the ad in then you wait again another day. Especially for us entrepreneurs who our momentum driven, we're trying, we're moving, the momentum is what gets us going. Running Facebook ads when they're not working at first it's the opposite of momentum. It's like you hit this brick wall, I put it behind me. If you hit a brick wall and like, oh, and then you change the ad and you try it again. It's like, oh, I hit a brick wall. And it's like you lose this momentum. It's this huge let down. Right. Justin I felt that I was reading your post stages just like, "Oh, I did the work, the effort and the ads aren't working and I need the momentum to keep me excited and motivated but the momentum's gone because the ad's not working and I don't know, do I change the offer [inaudible] pages to the add." All these things. So what I want to do is I want to step back because, if I was looking at traffic strategies, if I was starting a new business, the first thing I probably wouldn't do is Facebook and I shouldn't say that. I would start Facebook ads initially because I want to get that working as fast as possible. I wouldn't give up on that. I would keep doing that, making the tweaks and the changes. During that process where you're waiting for your ads to hit, where your waiting for it to work, while you're waiting for the slowness of initial grind, while you're waiting for things to hit, you don't want to stop momentum, you want to keep the momentum going, otherwise you're it's going to be frustrating. For me, it's, what would I do if I was starting over from it right now? Let's say I put together a book or an offer or a landing page or whatever I need. I need traffic coming. Waiting for Facebook ads to work, what would I do right now? For me, what I would be doing right now is I would be going old school. In fact, it's funny, I'm writing the traffic secrets book right now and literally last week worked on this chapter. It all comes down to the dream 100. What's the concept of the dream 100? Dream 100 are, who are the hundred people that already have your dream clients all in? Who are those people? Then how do I get from their audiences for free? In the book I talk about this two ways to get into the dream 100. Number 1 is you buy your way in, and number two, is you work your way in. If I was to do this today is I would start with podcasts. Poddcasts is the channel I would choose initially. I'm going to say a couple things. I'll wrap it into a bowl that will make more sense. I would start with a channel of podcasting, because obviously we have Facebook, we have Instagram, we have youtube, we have all these things, but podcasting is by far the channel I would lead with. The reason why is podcast listeners are the best buyers. These are my dream audience. They are the reason why I run my own podcast. The reason why I go on other people's podcasts, podcast listeners are the best buyers by far. I read a study and I'm going to script the numbers, but it was the average human who listens to the radio makes $30,000 a year, and the average human who listened to podcasts makes over $100,000 a year. Just by the fact that they have the podcast app on their phone and they are listening to content, makes them a better, how do I say that it's rude to say, but it doesn't make them a better human. You can be a good human and listen to music all day, but they make them a better buyer, better consumer. They make more money on average and they're into development, there into learning anyway. They're your dream customers. I'd do is I'd say, okay, I'm going to focus on the podcast channel and you think about any movie. Like when Avengers Endgame came out, which by the way, was the most insane movie of all time, so good. What happened? Watch the rollout. What happened is that they were basically they build the dream 100 for them it was TV shows, So it's like, "Okay, who are all the shows?" And that obviously marvel studios was buying ads, they were on Facebook, they were on youtube, they were on TV, they were buying ads for their show. Then they sent all of they're attractive characters out to go and work their way in. They were on Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel, and The Today show and Good Morning America. They were out there doing the circuit, getting the free traffic. They're not doing the free stuff while marvel is doing the paid ads. While you're training your paid ads to work, you should do the same thing as going out there and working your way in, getting into the circuit. I would go to the iTunes directory and any podcast directory, I would go look through the top 100 in every category. Of all these different podcasts who are the people that already my dream customers listening to this podcast. It doesn't have to be like... For me I wouldn't say just people in the business category. I would look at business, personal development. I would look at different categories. Because again, podcast listeners are all, if they're listening to podcasts, they're into personal development, which means they're into all sorts stuff. I would go and I'd make my dream 100 lists of here's the top 100 podcasts I want to get on. Then I was thinking, now my job, my goal is to get on all these podcasts. What's going to happen is while you're on these podcasts is a couple of things. Number one, this is free traffic, you're not paying to be on these podcasts, you're getting on to be interviewed, so number one, it's not costing you money. Number two is something you can be doing every single day so it's continuing momentum as opposed to buying an ad. You're writing out in the city, I can waiting and like nervously tapping your fingers, waiting for the thing to happen. There's something active you can be doing to move forward. Number two is that you're going to have a chance as you're on these podcasts to be interviewed, to start listening to what are the phrase that people ask? What the questions they're asking? What are people responding to? What are they not responding to? I was talking to Nick Fitzgerald yesterday and he did an event right before funnel or before on the 2 Comma X event and he said it was interesting. Today as I was going through my content. He's like, some things he is like, I felt it, I felt that I could just hit it, landed people connected with it. I was like, that's something that most people miss when they're just doing paid ads. What are the things people connect with? When you have this live platform, it's fascinating how quickly you find out, what are the things they hit? What are the things that don't hit? Even if you're just one on one, in an interview with somebody, by you just sharing your message over and over again, you start finding and refining like, "Oh man, that's the thing that the host, like his ears perked up" or I felt as I was delivering that I can feel the energy of that statement or that phrase that got people excited. You start learning those things really quickly. If you go out and you do a podcast, five podcasts, 10 podcasts, 30 podcasts, 50 podcasts, by doing that, you will learn your what so much better. What does it that I'm actually selling? What does the market actually want? So many times I've had a product that I tried to sell, like the expert secrets book for example. You may not know this, but the first thing I did is Extra Secrets Book came out is I did the podcast circuit. I went into the dream 100, pulled out every single podcast owner I could find. And I started going out there. And what's funny is if you bought one of the first 5,000 copies of The Expert Secrets Book, the title of the book was The Underground Playbook for Growing Your Mass Movement Online. Because I was like that was the title, that was the what and as I started in the interviews, I really quickly within the first three, four years, I realized that that subtitle did not connect with people. No one wanted to build a mass movement. I was like, oh. And every time I brought that up, it was just like, okay, but it was just, it didn't feel right. I don't know how to explain it other than that. It was wrong. I've learned that very quickly in podcasts and I literally, after like six podcasts, I messaged the publisher, I'm like, before the next printing we're changing the sub title. He was like, 'You can't do that." I'm like, "We are freaking doing that." Because I found out from the market that is not what they want. They do not want to build a mass movement. The book can stay the same, but the hook initially has to change. We changed it from Expert Secrets, The Underground Play book to building a mass movement, people who will pay you for your advice. That was the old subtitle to the new one, which is the Underground Playbook to find your message, build a tribe and change the world. In fact, I know who was my top, I think I came to just five or 10,000 copies of the first run. I know whenever people share on Instagram or Facebook, "I am reading Russell's book." I know when they bought in the cycle because we literally change the title of the book after hitting the podcast circuits. Because I found out that the messaging was wrong and I wish I would've done that before I wrote the book because the first 10,000 copies of the cover has a different subtitle. You guys probably didn't know that. I found out that that was the message that resonated. People wanted to find their message. They want to build a tribe and they want to change the world. That was the messaging that for the rest of the launch and has been going on for the last two years now. I didn't know that until I hit the podcast circuits. We've sold tens of thousands of copies of books through the podcast circuit. A couple other things on podcast. Number one is Facebook is like if you're the DOTCOM secrets book, I talk about cold traffic, warm traffic and hot traffic. Hot traffic is your own buyers. That's the people that are the best, they start moving down the spectrum. I would say the next best buyers after your own traffic are podcasts listeners, because they may not be your hot traffic, but they are definitely more than warm. They're listening to somebody talk about something every single day. Plugging into the ears, podcast listeners are amazing because they're listening during the most intimate times of your life. While I'm on the treadmill while I'm driving. You have different access to somebody's mind in a podcast that any other format. It is by far, I think the best delivery mechanism is podcasts. The hot traffic is your own customers. Next is podcast traffic and then it goes down to whatever. Like Facebook ads are warm to cold. Because you're targeting based of interests. Like, "oh I know they're interested in Tony Robbins and business, now, they're going to see my ad." But those are just warn people. They don't know who I am, they don't have an intimate connection with Tony Robins specifically. Maybe they liked his page and so because they're seeing the ad, whereas podcasts, listeners, you know that they subscribe, they listen, they plug in for 15, 20, 30 an hour a day to listen to the content. That is like... And you know that just the fact that listening to podcasts, the average podcast listener makes over $100,000 a year. So you know, they actually have money and you have a format where you don't have five seconds of the ad try captures attention, you have a longer 15, 30, 60 minute time to build the relationship with that audience before you push them to go to your free plus shipping or your book offer or your Webinar or things like that. Again, there's so many channels and dream 100 we'll go deeper throughout this year and as you guys get The Traffic Secrets Book, things like that, we're build June 100 channels like crazy. If I was you guys right now, especially just in listening to you, but anybody like this message is for him, but it's for everybody right now. I would say, "Okay, while I'm waiting for my ads to work, the next things I'm hitting the circuits just like I would if I was launching a movie, I'd be on Jimmy Fallon, Good Morning America, Today Show" all kinds of stuff. For you the equivalent of that is the podcast circuits. So it's going to iTunes, going to any podcast directory, going through the top 100 top 200 top 300 of all these different channels and going into there and you may think I like, "Oh, I'm not going to get on top 10 po... You don't have to get on top 10 list of the podcast. Right now, my podcast gets anywhere from 10 to 30,000 downloads per episode. I'm not in the top 250, I have enough listens to, but for some reason iTunes hates me. I don't know why they used to love me. I was in the top 10 lists for two years and then they slapped me and they won't even listen to the directory and that sucks. But my podcasts still gets insane amounts of downloads. Even if you get into a podcast, it's like 250 or 500 or maybe something listed. It does not matter. It just matters that you're getting out there. You're going to find your voice, you're going to find your message and find the hooks, the angles, this is your time to learn and present and be able to figure out what it is you're selling, how to sell all those intricacies of your message will be learned during this podcast circuit. Then like I said, even if you're in smaller podcasts, they may have 500 people or so, if you have some of those 500 people are their best buyers, their best listeners, people are connected. If I was starting over from scratch, that's what I would do. In fact, if you watched the launch for mastermind.com with, with Dean and Tony. Dean literally did 60 podcasts interviews to launch that thing. That's how we launched initially. First steps 60 podcasts interviews. When a Tony Robbins launch Money Master the game. 220 interviews in podcasts, radio ad TV before any paid ads. When traffic secrets books comes out, guess what I'll be doing first? The podcast circuits, it is where I would begin with so while you are buying ads and trying to figure that out because again the ad part is going to be frustrated and you're going to lose momentum if it doesn't hit initially and I do not want, I need you guys lose the momentum. You need to be running as fast as you can. Every one of you guys. What you need to be doing right now is going into the podcast directories, building your dream 100 and contact him saying, "Hey" and don't mass email them all. "Hey everyone put me into podcast." Listen to each of their podcasts and then put in the time and the effort. I listen to a ton of podcasts because I want to make sure that when I get on the show with the podcast host I don't look like an idiot. I be like, "Hey dude, I listen to your podcast is awesome. My favorite episode, when you interviewed so and so. That was super cool." Hey, by the way, I've got a really cool message. If you want, I love to be on the podcast, I could talk about this, this and this. Those are the ones people returned your calls. There you go. Podcast is it. It's like the secret nest of the best buyers on the Internet are all sitting there, plugged in listening to stuff every single day. The best thing about podcast hosts, almost all of them are craving content. They're looking for people to interview. It's not hard to get on their shows. You just got to have an interesting story and then pitch the story to them. Even if I was trying to get on TV, I'd be like, "Hey, put me on the news tonight." Like why? Because I can tell you three things about how to blah, blah. Justin for you, you've got so much street credit already. Just be like, "Hey, I'm going to show you guys how to land auditions, the struggles I had, I'm going to tell you guys behind the scenes of how I got an American idol and then how I got the Dr Pepper commercial." That's an interesting interview. Anyone would be like, "Oh my gosh, that'd be amazing." It wouldn't just be... There's so many categories that would fit underneath. It's not just one category in iTunes. There's so many categories and you can be on 30, 50 interviews and next 30 days if you just went out there, start hitting the circuits, contacting them, listening to them, listen to part of someones podcasts, message them directly. "Hey, love your podcast. I love the interview. I think I would love to do a show with you if you'd be interested. Here's some things I can bring the table, the stories I can tell." Like I said, most of these people are craving content and your story, it would be amazing. There you go. Hope that helps you guys. I got to jump. I got an inner circle happening right now. I just wanted to message just before I got started today because I saw justice message. I know he's not the only one struggling with this. A lot of you guys are, and hopefully this gives you as a shortcut, even if you don't have an offer done yet, go hit the podcast circuits. If all you have is a landing page with the opt in form, go and hit the podcast circuits. They are the secret honeypot of buyers. They're sitting there waiting for you. While you're waiting, again Facebook ads, Google ads, YouTube ads, that's the holy grail. It's what we're working towards, we want to get that because we can set, because that's when you guys sit back and like these things running and then making sales for you all day, every single day. Boom, what's going on, everyone?   Steve Larsen from Sales Funnel Radio, today I'm gonna teach you guys my event teaching template.   I've spent the last four years learning from the most brilliant marketers today and now I've left my nine to five to take the plunge and build my million dollar business.   The real question is how will I do it without VC funding or debt completely from scratch? This podcast is here to give you the answer.   Join me and follow along as I learn, apply and share marketing strategies to grow my online business, using only today's best internet sales funnels.   My name is Steve Larsen and welcome to Sales Funnel Radio.   What's up, guys? Hey, I'm excited for today. I wanna share with you guys kind of a cool little thing here.   I’ve been teaching at events for a number of years now. I’ve taught everyone, from people who are brand new to people who are extremely experienced and very wealthy, and there is a format that I teach in.   One of the things that I get asked, actually more and more frequently this has been happening, is, “Stephen, how can you get up and riff for two hours?”   The answer is, I'm not just like talking, I'm actually following a format in my head.   There's been a few people have reached out and said, “Stephen, I wish you'd just get straight to the principle.” But there's reasons why I'm doing what I'm doing with this.   Right after my OfferMind event in 20218, I had the opportunity to go in and teach Russell Brunson's new speaker team for about half a day. He's got a new traveling team and they travel around on small stages that he can't get to, 'cause of who he is - which totally makes sense.   This team pitches ClickFunnels and content around the world, which is awesome. It's super cool.   So I was asked to come in and teach some of my methods and how I do what I do. I walked up and there wasn't really much of a framework, I had an idea…   I was watching and observing like crazy before it was my turn to go up, 'cause I wanted to see where they were. So I had an idea of what to actually talk about… But guys, I'll be honest with you, sometimes as I'm talking, especially on stage, (I'm always extremely prepared, especially when I get on stage), but there's always a little bit of playroom.   One of my favorite things to do when I'm talking and going through a principle or whatever is to watch, I don't know how else to describe it, other than watching the eyes of the people to see:   #: Do I have them?   If I'm losing them, I've got to tell a story.  I've got to just do something that's high drama or drop some more gold, something a little more valuable. I've got to do something to get 'em back; whether that's an engagement, or  sometimes I'll do a random Q&A.   Half of a being speaker is being able to deliver cool stuff; the other half is being able to read the audience.   I’ve done a lot of three-day events, tons of them and I have slides, but not every group that comes into the room is the exact same, so I've got to be able to adjust based on what they're doing.   So what I've done, especially over the last two years, I've been developing kind of my own pattern for how I do stage stuff.  Those of you guys who are coming to Funnel Hacking Live, you’ll see me do this.   I'll be extremely prepared, however I'm also gonna leave a little bit of room. I'm gonna watch how people are reacting.   There's been some stages that I've spoken on and like every audience is different, there's nothing to really prepare you for it, other than just doing it.   There’ve been some audiences that I've spoken to that were just the driest, dry, most unfun group to talk to ever, I'm not gonna say who it was, but it was a few events in Vegas and Texas and these other areas. I just talked to them and like, “Man, are you guys dead?”   Anyway, before I say anything offensive, I'm gonna move on, but like, “MAN!”   Then some of the most fun stages are not necessarily always the most educated in what I do, so I've got to start at a different level. You've got to be really fluid as a stage talker.   Now there's a difference between stage teaching and stage pitching - huge difference, monumental difference.   Every time I'm doing a stage pitch, I will follow a webinar script.   Teaching from stage, it's kind of that, but not really, there's a lot more that goes into it.   So my wife and I, we're both geeks now and she and I were talking late about stage and we were talking about the different formats of being able to present on stage, and so I thought it'd be kind of cool to share with you guys some of what I do, and how I'm actually able to pull that off…   I'm not just riffing, although it may look like that.   Let me just pull this whiteboard in here. If you guys are on ITunes, no sweat, I'm gonna walk through, you guys won't miss anything out. Drawing just helps me explain, so that's half the reason I draw so much.   Okay, so the first thing that I do is I go in and I draw a big old framework picture. It's a massive framework picture right here up at the top and it's a picture that represents the all the content.   One of the major reasons that I do this is because it helps me stay focused on what I need to produce, but also it helps me stay focused on what I should NOT get distracted by. There are squirrels!   As a speaker, you're like, “Oh man, you, one person in the audience, you think that's cool? Why don't I go on a massive tangent and teach you some other cool things, 'cause you think that's cool?”  No! I'm sticking to a framework.   There was an event I was speaking at early on, one of the first stages I ever spoke on, and it was really valuable, but I stopped teaching and started Q&A-ing.   Stage pitching, totally different than stage teaching, which is totally different than Q&A, which is totally different than workshop. They're not all the same thing. They're the little tools that I pull out of my pocket when I need to to keep:   Things interesting   The learning up and high   The energy high   People engaged   ... 'cause some of the principles I go through... man, they're freaking boring. I know they're boring! I hate listening to boring speakers. Hate it, hate it, hate it.   I don't really watch so much football. I like the Denver Broncos, they're my team, but I don't really watch that much of it, but when I do…   I'm not really an armchair quarterback, but I am TOTALLY an armchair quarterback when I am watching other people on stage. I’m nitpicking the crap out of 'em, I can't help it. I'm like:   Oh, I would have done that different   I would have pointed differently there   What's with the stature of that person?   Why is every one of their sentences going down? They should be going up.   ...you know, it's like I can't help it. This is my craft, this is what I do, I can't help but watch what people are doing on stage.   So anyway, there's different mechanisms and frameworks and patterns that I'm using throughout. Specifically for this episode, I'm gonna walk through how I handle teaching on stage in a way that’s:   Interesting   Interactive   Captivating and brings the minds of the audience with you   If I just pop right out and say, “Here's the framework!”   The audience will: Look at it   Finds something on there that they have seen before   Thinks that they understand the rest of it immediately - when they don't.   I can't just walk up and be like, “Here's the framework.” So what I do first of all is I go in and I draw a framework picture, then what I do is I break up the picture into chunks, three, four, five, six, seven chunks.   This is exactly what I did for OfferMind   This is exactly what I did for all of the FHAT events that I used to run   It's exactly what I do for OfferLab, which is coming up for those of you guys that are coming to it.   ...Does that make sense? There's a lot of what I do that comes from just this piece alone.   I got to hang out with Russell when he was drafting a lot of the Traffic Secrets book which he's been working on. He's writing it right now, but the actual ideation of the principles, he does the exact same thing... Where do you think I learned it? ;-)   When I first got to ClickFunnels and he started drafting the Expert Secrets Book, this is exactly what we did.   There was a picture that represented all of it and then the picture was broken up into four or five different pieces, and those are the major sections of the book.   So I do this the exact same way when I'm doing a teaching-based event. When I go into pitching, that's a different activity and a different pattern. But specifically this is how to teach at events. Okay, just making that clear, so that no one thinks that's how you pitch!   The first thing I do is I draw a picture…   If I can explain a complex principle with a doodle, it means it’s simple enough for the masses to understand. Most people are on a third grade reading level,and I can't stand up and use complex vocabulary.   The point is to not make me look smart, the point is to educate the audience.   It drives me nuts when you can tell someone wrote a speech to make 'em look smart, rather than to connect with the audience.   I'm not gonna name any names, but man, there was an event that I went to, (this happened like three times last year), where I got to speak at an event or I went to one that I just kind of wanted to go to… and there would be one or two speeches specifically you could just tell that were created to just remind everyone how cool the speaker was.   ...That's awesome, but I believe that if you want credit, don't seek it. If you want stature, don't seek it. You're gonna look like you are and you distance yourself from the listeners, 'cause you're like:   “Will you remind me again of how awesome I am, please? Remind me how much of a pedestal I'm on. Raise me up, please, audience, following.”   ...You distance yourself from the audience in that one move. Stupid, don't do it! okay.   So anyways,I draw a picture (for a lot of reasons), but it's so that I understand it in a simple way to teach it and so it's a simple to deliver the principle at the same time.   So I draw a smaller picture of a chunk of the major framework picture and I do it again, and then I do it again.   Let's say that there are four major principles, that are distinct from each other inside of this major picture. So then I draw another picture. Then there's a pattern inside each one of these that I'm pulling off.   When I'm doing a lot of Facebook Lives, or even sometimes in these episodes, I don't always do this in these episodes, but a lot of times I'll follow kind of a version of this a little bit.   There's really two phases to this:   #1: Is Preparing: so, first,  I'm gonna walk through the preparing phase, which is what we're doing right now.   This is how I prepare all the content ahead of time to make sure that I am ready to over deliver on stage. Is it a brain jog? Yes, it’s mentally exhausting. It’s so challenging.   I'm going through the exact same process for my book right now. Ha, right! It's not easy, guys. It's NOT easy at all.   Realistically, if you're doing something that's gonna be a little more permanent like a book…   I don't write the book to make money, it's gonna make some, but I'm making the book to make sure it’s easily transferable information to the masses. It's a low ticket thing = low cost + high circulation product.   So these are the stages I’m gonna go through with you:   1. Preparation 2. Delivery   So the first thing I do is I come up a big picture represents all of it and then there's four major principles - they're like little breakouts of the major framework. So now let's get down to each one of these levels. I draw the major, overarching principle pictures and I will usually use blue.   The next color I use for the actual content itself is typically green.I hope it shows up well on the camera here. Then I draw a smaller picture, yeah, that shows up alright, I draw a smaller picture and inside of that, I'm coming up with:   A quote, A story The actual concept itself A ‘So What?’   You’ll see Russell do this in several places as well, I do this in a lot of spots: “Oh, cool quote about this. By the way, here's a really cool story that's gonna set you up to understand the concept when I drop it.” Which is why I always tell a lot of stories on this show and anywhere.   Then, the “So what?” Meaning; “Who freaking cares?”   If I teach you something cool and you can't use it,  then who cares? I'm not here to say, “Oh, look how cool I am. So what? Who cares?   I hate my time being wasted. I do my best NOT to waste you guy's time, so I do what's called a “So What?”   I this at OfferMind; meaning: I teach you the principle Here's what you should be able to do with it now that you've learned it.   It's like the deliverables, the thing that they should be able to go do afterwards.   And frankly, this is a small picture... and then I do it again. We do a smaller picture, a quote.. and these are all little, tiny micro stories that teach the bigger concept. There'll be a bunch of 'em, boom, boom, small, small pictures. However many I need, in order to actually accurately show the BIG concept.   Does that make sense so far?   Then what I do is I typically, not always, it depends on how much time I have...   So then I grab a red pen and red to me is the “So whats?”  If you don't have red, you're dead... meaning this is the applicable area of what I'm teaching here.   So then, I usually do somewhat of a workshop/Q&A, not always. One or the other, sometimes both, it’s very time dependent. These usually end out the principle that I’ve taught.   For those of you guys who have got tickets to the next OfferMind, you got the replays from last year, watch me doing this.   Each session is is usually about an hour and a half to two hours,and then we usually need a break, and that's fine, but I usually end with a workshop/Q&A section or session.   I do the exact same thing for every single one of those major pictures and frameworks moving forward. Does that kind of make sense?   That's how I prepare, but that's NOT actually how I teach it. That’s NOT how I teach it at all.   Now I'm gonna erase the bottom of this right here, just so that I can draw how I actually toss it out, okay.   So that's why I lace it all out on my floor. I just got another 12 legal pads from Amazon Basics, because I'm running out. I use a lot of legal pads because I'm literally drawing pictures and writing the quotes on all these sheets on my floor and stuff - because then I can visually see:   “Crap, I'm missing a story on picture number two, section one, right, oh, dang, I'm need to find a quote, that backs up what I've been saying, I know this is a true principle, who else talks about that?”   That's why I buy so many books, I don't necessarily read that many books from cover to cover, I don't. What I do is I hunt answers. If I know I'm missing a quote from section one, picture number three, I'm like, “Crap, who talked about that again?”   Then what I do is I walk through my bookshelves and I grab out all the books,that look like they're about that topic and I will rifle through and speed read like crazy.   In fact, on the other side of this camera is where I usually put all that stuff. I had stacks of books next to each principle: “Oh man, this stack of books is really about that one principle. This stack of books is really about that principle.” And I rifle through them to make sure.   That's why OfferMind was so good, guys, I did my freaking homework.   Let me grab another color here. Yeah, let's grab black…   So that's how I prepare, but the way I actually deliver is, I always start with a story. A story at a place of high drama. Sometimes I will start also with a quote; sometimes those are interchangeable. It's not always in that order, but these are always at the beginning at least.   So it's a story at a  place of high drama, and a quote. I never just present the picture. This is one of the reasons why so many of us use whiteboards on stage is we are drawing the picture in front of the audience. If you have to go fast, that's fine, but it actually creates a deeper understanding for the audience if you draw and explain at the same time ...and then show them the finalized picture that you prepared ahead of time.   Russell does this at Traffic Secrets. I do this all the time like at the FHAT Events.I did this several times at OfferMind, time depending, based on where I was.   What I do is I draw a story to place high drama, then I go through a quote and then I'm drawing the picture in front of them on a clean whiteboard or a clean piece of paper.   I'm saying the steps that they need to take in order to to do that principle, but I'm also visually writing down those steps. That's why in my slides, a lot of times, you'll see I'm drawing the picture even though it's already done on the next slide.   This works so freaking good.   I've used this many times on a lot of stages, a lot of stages, okay. I've an abnormal amount of stage time for someone my age and I know that, and I'm just saying, okay.   So then I'm gonna number the steps out, audibly and written and then finally I press the slide button, 'cause I go make all these pictures. I have an artist go in and they will actually make a rendering of each one of these pictures. But if I just show it, it's not nearly as effective. Then I go through my “So Whats?” and then leave off with the Q&A/workshop. Does that make sense?   Sorry for the reflection there, guys, I'm trying to get that off there. Anyways, cool, that's how I do it.   First, I prepare it in the order I’ve shown you, but then I deliver it in this order.   I DON’T just:   Show the picture Use a quote Tell a story Reveal a concept Add the “So Whats?”   BECAUSE… it's better if the audience discovers the picture with you as you're drawing it. Man, that's so much more effective. The learning's a lot deeper.   Anyways, I just wanna share that with you guys. Some of you have been asking about this and I'm stoked to be able to share it with you.   So if you guys are doing events - which are amazing. I believe everybody should do an event. Events are incredible whether it’s virtual or in person.   Marketers are event creators.   When you go in, especially in a teaching event. I'm speaking in a lot of places already in 2019, I'm really stoked about it.   I got a lot of offers, I'm going a lot of places and I'm excited about that. I'm saying no to most of 'em, 'cause I'm really focused on my goal for this year. Thank you, I don’t want to offend anyone.   If I’m  gonna do any kind of stage speech at all, if I have an hour, if I have 30 minutes, if I have three days, this is how I do it.   You'll see a lot of times, when I'm trying to over deliver content, in my head, I'm following this format.   What's the story format I'm using? Epiphany Bridge Script.   What's the quote I'm using? Someone who's influential, that  the audience all know about.   I'm drawing the picture in front of 'em. I suck at drawing, whatever!   Next I walk through and number the steps out: it's the same exact thing I would do in a webinar script, but in this format, it's a little different.   Then I go in and write the “So Whats?” Finally; Q&A/workshop at the end, time dependent. I love that one, it helps 'em really feel like they've gotten a lot.   Anyway, that's the format that I use both in creating and in delivering.   What I want to do real fast is cut over to one other video real fast…   When I was at OfferMind, I ended the event. I was done, I was excited, I was like man, I knew that it had been awesome. A lot of money has been made from that event already; meaning the people in the audience applied everything and made a lot of cash, which is awesome and very validating…   But I was getting down and guys, I was tired, okay, I was about to go get in the car and continue to teach the speaker team. I was exhausted, man. I had really not slept in a while, and if you've ever been on stage, like you should be freaking tired.   The photographer came up to me afterwards and she goes, "You move more on stage than anybody I've ever seen ever," and I said “Yeah, well, number one, I hate bad speakers who are boring and number two, if I don't keep things interesting it's gonna suck.”   I don't know if you guys have heard the saying or the stat. I don’t know if it’s a stat or a saying, whatever... but I believe it's true, 'cause it seems true every time I do it…   90 minutes on stage is the equivalent in energy to a full eight-hour workday   ...And so to go for two straight days, man, you're wrecked, you are so freaking tired.   Whenever I'm doing a webinar, it's an hour and a half, I'm acting like I'm on stage. I’m exhausted after I do a webinar. I’m putting out energy, I’m working hard. They will NOT exceed my energy level.   I set the pace, so I've got to come in high and hard, so that I can bring everybody up because that brings them in a better place to be engaged and learn,   I pre-bought caffeine for the tables.   Anyway, so I did all this stuff, and then the event ended, and as I was about to walk off, Colton runs up and he goes, "Hey, wait everyone, don't move, don't move, don't move."   I didn't know he had a mic in his hand and he invited John Ferguson up and they gave me the Statue of Responsibility Award which had a hard time not breaking down and kind of crying over, guys.   The only reason I'm showing you guys this, it's not to pat my back, it's to pat my wife's for what she does to support everything that I'm doing. We decide what we're going to create each and every day."   Coulton: I'm now gonna invite Mr. John Ferguson up to the stage real quick.   John Ferguson: So Stephen knows what this is, but a lot of you didn't, so we wanted to share the video.   On my way out here, I had an opportunity to talk to the sculptor of The Statue of Responsibility.   Two years ago, we were on a mission to find entrepreneurs, influencers, people who are looking to change other people's lives.   Viktor Frankl had in his study in Vienna, a sculpture with a man called The Suffering Man who reaches up to the sky looking for help. He always used to say, before he passed away, is "Where is the hand reaching down?"   Being a Holocaust survivor, he talked about responsibility on the West Coast to bookend liberty and freedom on the East Coast, and so we said:   "Look, we have to find individuals who are the hand reaching down to others in our world."   Don't you think Stephen is one of those people? Yeah, totally!   I think I've known Stephen about three years, first Funnel Hacking live event. We talked about that, and he is a different dude. He is awesome, right? I mean, phenomenal.   And so I talked to the sculptor, and I had him sign one of the statues, and it’s numbered, and we're only giving away a few of these to individuals in the country.   These individuals will have their names in a special place at the statue that will be built in Southern California, 305 feet tall, just like The Statue of Liberty. You'll be able to go inside and visit it.   Because of what he's done, not only for this community, but for all of your communities, do you understand that? Now you can get your message put in a way, you guys are all a part of this.   To Steve:  so would you accept the Statue of Responsibility as a gift for what you've given all of us?   Steve: Absolutely, man.   Here's what I learned while watching Russell in his $3 Million Dollar HOUR... What's going on, everyone? This is Steve Larsen and you're listening to Sales Funnel Radio. Welcome to Sales Funnel Radio where you'll learn marketing strategies to grow your online business using today's best internet sales funnels. Now here's you host Steve Larsen. Steve Larsen: Hey, what's going on, everyone? Hey, so I just barely left ... Where was I? I was in Vegas. I forget where I go now. I'm traveling a lot right now. I'm going all over the place. I was home for a few days, went over and traveled. I'm only home for a few days again. I'm going to go travel again. I'm home for just a little bit, then I'll go travel again. It's all over the place right now. It's been fun. I really, really do enjoy it. Missing the family though a lot actually, but it's been really interesting. I had the very rare opportunity of watching Russell pitch. I was at Grant Cardone's 10X event and it was a great experience. I got to go sit down and watch. Honestly my favorite speaker was Grant himself. Okay? Besides Russell. I'm going to talk about that in a second. If you've not heard the huge news with that, which is pretty amazing, but I was sitting there and I was listening to Grant Cardone and he was teaching amazing stuff. Absolutely love listening to him. Super dynamic speaker. Great guy to listen to. I got a lot of great things from other speakers as well. Frankly the whole reason I went down to this event, okay, I was not planning on going to this event for quite some time. It was about a month ago. I remember I woke up one morning and I started thinking ... I don't know why guys, but I started thinking you know what? I've spoken on a lot of smaller stages now. I've spoken on a lot of smaller stages and smaller events, anywhere from 1 to 200 people, many times now, right, and several other events when there's supposed to be more people and there wasn't and there's a smaller amount. You roll the punches. A lot of fun, but I started to think. I'm like, "I want to see big people. Really huge influencers. I've got to see them go speak on huge stages with massive audiences and see what they do with their energy." The entire reason that I went to Grant Cardone's Growth event, right? 10X Growth event. I actually did not realize how big of a deal it was. I'm going to be completely honest with you. I didn't realize how many people were going to be there until I think the day before ... Not even. No, no. Yeah, okay, the day before I went down there, there was 8,500 people. 8,500. I didn't know. I have never been in an event that has been that big, that huge. I had no idea it was going to be that big, which there was pros and cons to it. Obviously I'm a huge fan of ... Obviously the pro of a smaller venue is you get a little more of the personal touch. However, the con is you may not get to network quite as much. I mean there's no way I'm going to meet 8,500 people anyway. Anyway, literally the entire reason I went to this event was to go watch massive, massive influencers speak to massive, massive audiences. I've spoken enough on other stages. I've taught a lot on other stages. Obviously not just on Russell's, but a lot of others. There is this vibe. Okay? Each presenter pulls different energies and relationships out of the audience, and it's fun to watch. They will match and they will mirror to the personality of the one speaking. It was fun to watch. It's always fun to watch. If you have ever listened to Darren Stevens, he talks about universals and truisms, things like that, to bring the audience together to get them to do things that you want. I love studying stage and I love studying stage presenters and what they do to actually control the audience. They have no idea most of the time that that's what's going on. Anything from small and OP things, down to the words you say, the gesture you use, the stories you tell. Stage to me is an amazing performance. I have a lot of respect for it because of ... If you go watch a movie, they can do a million takes, but like on a stage, you got to be an A game the entire time. It's all in one take. It's super, super amazing to watch what these guys do. It's honestly what I aspire to do. I want to go do that really bad. I'm really pumped. In a few days, I get to go speak in front of 2,500 people and I'm so excited. It's going to be over in Dallas. That's the biggest group I've ever spoken to. I didn't realize that that actually is a lot of people until Dave Woodward told me it was. I was like, "Oh, I didn't realize that ... I thought everyone's ..." Anyway, I'm excited about that and that's awesome, but knowing that, knowing that that was going to come up, I wanted to go watch this event and it is the reason that I went. I don't know what I was expecting or what I was even thinking, but I wanted to show up and I wanted to go, like I said, to watch how these guys interact. For some reason I had it in my mind, I knew that Russell was going to go and I knew he was going to pitch, and I knew that he was pulling off some very special things to be able to pitch to that many people. That is a skillset of its own, but I watched. I was like, "Yeah. I'm going to go." I didn't tell him I was going to show up for a while and I went and I showed up and got to listen. The shocking thing right from the beginning, I don't know why I was expecting anything different. I thought well, there's got to be some extra thing that he's doing for that many people. What is it? There's got to be some extra ... I knew he was going to use the perfect webinar script. I knew he was going to go through it. That's what I teach guys in Two Comma Club Coaching. I go through and teach you how to actually set up a webinar and get it going, which is ... Frankly, it's one of the major reasons I left my job. I wanted to go prove out and who that that's actually something I knew how to do as well, not just teach it. I'm actually doing it, which I am. It's great. I'll keep accounting for what's been going on there in future episodes here. I don't know why I expected anything to be different. I sat down and I can tell you that he used the perfect webinar script just like he would anywhere else. What was fun for me because I love that script. That script has made millions of dollars. I can think of very few of activities in my life that are worth studying that are that high leverage of an activity to go study than to learn how to pitch one to many, right? Instead of one to one, one to many like that. What I did is I started taking these notes and Russell got up and I was so excited. I know. I want to watch a master in his game, right? I got to watch him do that a lot of times sitting next to him face to face or right at his side or whatever in his office, but it was always over a computer, right or it was always over ... There'd be these smaller stages I go see him present of, but never one that big. For some reason I kept thinking that there would be this extra X factor. I can tell you, I even wrote down, I wrote small audience versus large audience equals the same. I don't know why I thought it'd be any different. There was a few things though, little extra flares, right? Little extra things. I mean he's been doing it so long. How can you do it truly 100% the same every single time? There was little tiny things that he did along the way that I thought were just brilliant, little shows of mastery all throughout, right? I took notes of them. I wanted to go through a few of what they are. There's one massive big one. I'm going to save it to the end. There's my little hook to stay to the end, okay? One massive one. There was a huge shift in what he normally does. It was brilliant to watch it guys. Absolutely amazing to watch it. I knew it was coming. I was excited for it. We had studied this stuff before we've gone ... Anyway, it was right before I left actually. He had this huge memory hit. I'm like, "Oh my gosh. There's a guy who used to ... He did a pitch this way. Let me go find it." Like 15 minutes later he had dug up all the pages from years ago and all the emails and he was like, "This is it." When he found it, it was amazing. He's got an elephant brain for marketing stuff. Absolutely incredible. It was one major thing that he switched. There was little funny phrases along the way that I keep continuing to pick up on and put it on my own webinar. Every time I do, I swear my wallet just gets a little bit fatter, which is fun. I hope you guys are doing those things as well. Anyway, this is a skillset to just study and learn and obsess over. I don't know that I've actually told you guys this yet, I recently went and I took everyone of Russell's webinar pitches, anything from Funnel Scripts, DotComSecrets X, obviously Funnel Hacks, Funnel Builder Secrets, any of the software secrets when he did that pitch, I grabbed everyone of the pitches that I've ever seen him do. I ripped the audio from every single one of them and I put them in this ... It's literally 11 hours of me listening to Russell pitch back to back to back to back to back. I will just listen to it, right? I've got it all together and I will just listen to it. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. Boom. One after another listen to ... There's all that education that matters that much in my opinion than learning that skillset. Have no mistake that I'm obsessed over this process. I absolutely love it. I love doing it. This is the thing for me to get better at. It's where I've dropped my anchor. You know what I mean? For a long time I just kind of ran around looking for different things to go do. Anyway, what I wanted to do is I've got Russell's Funnel Hacks webinar presentation that we use in Two Comma Club Coaching on one screen right now. Then in front of me, I've got also a whole bunch of notes. What I wanted to do is real quick just run through just a few little things. Some of them might seem tiny. Okay? Some of them might seem tiny. There's one major one though and I want to go through what that is. I want to document it. He certainly will I'm sure because it's just freaking incredible. If you don't know, he did over $3 million in an hour and a half. $3 million dollars in 90 minutes. He had a 90 minute slot. $3 million. His goal awhile ago was just to do a million dollars in a day or even in just a year, right? I think it took four years to hit that million dollars in a year, which is awesome to hit that. That's huge. That's so cool to do that, and then he did again and again and again and again and again and faster and faster. The time getting shorter and shorter and shorter, right? Even the Two Comma Club Coaching program, we did that in three and a half weeks for a million dollars. We did that several times in a few weeks for like Expert Secrets Book, things like that, and the timeline was getting just shorter and shorter, more and more compressed. Finally, building up to this thing, this scenario where he did $3 million in an hour and a half, which is ridiculous. It's so cool. It's so cool. I'm so excited for him, so pumped for him. I went nuts on Voxer just screaming. Oh man. I'm so excited for him. Anyway, I want to go side by side real quick here. If you study the Funnel Hacks webinar, the Funnel Hacks presentation, like I said, this is like the highest leverage stuff I believe you could ever go study that will pay you and pay you and pay you and pay you to learn how to do this stuff. Now I understand. I know there are other ways to pitch. I know there are other scripts. I know there are other formats, but this one is doing amazing. Why change what works? I've been going back through ... I'm sorry. I've not actually gone to the actual content here yet. I promise I will here in just a moment, but what I've been doing also for my own webinar is I've been going through and I've been studying a lot of the big webinar people today, right? I've been funnel hacking Liz Benny and watching her stuff. Dan Henry, right? Obviously Russell. Been going looking at Akbar Sheikh. I've been going and looking at each one of their pieces. Not just the pages, but inside each one of their scripts. How are they saying what they're saying? How does their slide say it? How are certain things here and there that are changing? It's been cool to go through and do that. The major foundation piece of my offer, that came from the market, right? I funnel hacked to a certain extent. I funnel hacked to a certain area and then after that, I went and I made my offer. The actual changes to the funnel, now that the product's done, now the product that I've been selling is totally done, now I'm just focused on two things: the funnel, how can I improve the funnel, the actual buying experience and selling experience, number two, promoting it. That's it. Those are my two activities until I die basically, right? Well, number one, I'm really focusing right now especially on the funnel. I know there are things that are broken. I'm fixing them right now. We're getting those done. I'm very excited for that. Then I'm going and I'm focusing on how to sell this stuff obviously. I've been going through that and I've been changing all these things. My head has already been very much in the spot. That's the whole reason why I'm trying to pre-frame what I'm going to tell you that it's not like just random things I wrote down. This is stuff that I looked at very specifically that what he was doing that I'm going to go through and I'm going to add. Anyway, at the very beginning, like in the Funnel Hacks presentation, one of the things that you do is ... There's really two introductions inside of the perfect webinar and I don't think people realize that. There are two introductions. Number one, you introduce the webinar. Okay? Why the heck are they there, right? Why are they there? If you've ever read the book Pitch Anything, it's one of my favorite books ever, it is definitely probably in the top probably 5 or 10 books I've ever read ever, and what it teaches and goes through is it talks about every time there's something new that comes up inside of the brain or in your life, your head runs through all these filters, right? It's always funny. My wife and I went ... I can't remember what movie we went to go see, but we went to a movie theater. We were sitting down in the movie and the movie preview started showing up, right? The movie previews are showing and they're these little basically little mini stories that are supposed to get you excited about the real thing. It's always funny. Everybody becomes a movie critic at the end of a movie preview, right? You always see everyone's heads turn to each other and go, "Oh yeah. We should see that. It looks great," or you'll see everyone's heads go, "That looks weird. That looks stupid. Dumb. Weird." Everyone becomes this movie critic. Why are you bringing this up, Steven? Because every time something new pops up in front of us, our heads starts to run through a filter, much like a movie preview. We run it through a filter, right? Number one, am I in danger? Needs of the body. Am I in physical danger? Can I eat it? Should I run? Fight or flight? Should I meet with it? Random stuff like that, but there's these criteria that your head runs through whether or not you're trying to to keep you safe and keep you alive and keep you breathing, right? It's the same for every piece of marketing. It's the same for every piece. Unless you can get past the first part of that brain, you will not pitch that person. They will not make a buying decision, right? There are two introductions to a webinar. The first introduction is introducing the webinar itself, right? That's where Russell says, "Hey, look, you're in the right place. This is where I'm going to show you how to do this without this. Here's my earnings disclaimer. Here is a testimonial of somebody else doing this thing." He doesn't even talk about what it is yet or who he is. The second introduction is introducing him or me, right? Because I'm doing the same thing, right? The first I'm introducing the webinar very methodically. Number two, I introduce myself. They got to fall in love with me now, right? The whole reason for those two, especially the first introduction, is to get past that first part of the brain so that they know, "Oh, I'm in a safe place. Oh, I can let the guard down." I literally have been saying that in my webinars lately. "Guys, feel free to just let the guard down. It's okay. Let the walls down. This is a safe place and safe environment for us to all learn." I can't remember everything I say without my slides here yet. I don't have it totally memorize slide by slide yet like Russell does, but it's going in that direction. There's two introductions. The story, Russell use the story at the beginning talking about the Four Minute Mile and he's using it right off the bat. The story is breaking and rebuilding beliefs. It's getting everyone the same plain. That's actually a form of NLP. Especially from stage, it's very, very clever for him to do that from the very beginning, to begin with a story like that. Most people know that story, which brings a sense of community and bringing together, right? All those little things. If you read the book Launch, the nine mental triggers, he is using those like crazy at the very beginning of that pitch. It's very crafted very, very well. He's going through and that's what he's doing. He's going through and he gave the story about the Four Minute Mile. It was absolutely incredible. He tells his own story. He's using an epiphany bridge. "Oh, how cool to be if I made a million dollars? This guy made a million dollars in a day. My Four Minute Mile is what if I just made a million dollars in a year?" He's talking about these internal and external desires, using epiphany bridge script, right? Now what we need to do is we need to see that this guy is not the only nutcase who actually had these results. He goes through and he's showing ... Because that's what the brain is thinking. He goes through and he's showing success stories of others, showing some video testimonials, right? He's using the same exact format and formula. He very, very closely to the point ... It was right after he introduced the webinar, right after he kind of introduced himself as well, he goes into what he calls a price marinade. This is the major difference for fear of talking forever and talking your face off guys and getting to an actual point of this podcast. I'm going to go straight to the main idea. Okay? We've been going for a little bit. I'm just going to talk about it. He does what he calls a price marinade. He's talked about his before so I feel totally fine talking about it as well. A price marinade. Now what's a price marinade? Now in a normal sales environment, it's very common for a lot of times to withhold the actual price until the end, right? What is that in Funnel Hacks? His stack, his value and his stack is $11,552. $11,552. Is this worth $11,552? Of course, it is. If all I said was this, is it $11,552? Of course, it is. Right? That's what he does. He goes through and that's what he teaches. His stack has a total value of $11,552. What typically happens is you withhold that information until the ever end. Then there's a big price drop, a public price, and then another kind of final price drop because you're special and you're on the webinar today. In this scenario, he took that first part and he made it known in the very beginning. This is very key. This is very, very key. This is a huge deal you guys. You don't pull this off without a lot of finesse, which obviously he has and he could do very, very well. What he did is he went and he said, "Here is the price. Before I sell you, before I have anytime to break and rebuild your belief patterns, which is the rest of the webinar, to do the stack and to tell three more stories, before I get a chance to do that, I'm going to tell you the price of this." It's a very interesting play. I feel like I'm going through and I'm talking about and commenting on football plays from the Super Bowl right. It's a very interesting play though to go through and watch a pitch man go and pull part of the price, the most expensive aspect of the price, and bring it at the beginning of the pitch, of an hour and a half pitch. That's a lot of time for someone to get out of their seat and walk away. It's how he did it that was very, very clever. It's called a price marinade because you bring that price forward and you talk about it at the beginning and you bring it up first so that it marinates. The brain has time to get used to that price point except that the price point that you said is actually real and say yes to it along the way. Is this making sense? I know I'm like going deep into the weeds right now and it's not normal on my podcast to do this. Usually when I do this, people are like, "Oh, that's an okay episode." I'm like, "No. That was like the most gold I could have given." It's because it's not wrapped in terms of the story right now. That's why people might feel like that. Understand what I'm saying. He brought the most expensive, the total value of a stack, and he brought it first. This is what he said, "My goal is to show you that everything that I'm doing here for you to be successful you need to invest $11,552." That's about how he worded it. Is that okay? He made everyone raise their hand. I think we raised our hand or we did something physical to attach to that verbal thing where we said, "Yes. Yes, Russell. I agree. If you can give me 10 times the results of my business right now," we're talking about 10X even he tied it right into it, which is awesome, "if you can give 10 times what my business is doing now, of course, I'll pay you $11,552." This was masterful. This was masterful because he charges $3,000 for the product, but they've already said yes to a much higher price point. Now he has the entire rest of the "webinar" live from stage, though in front of 9,000 people ... How many people were there? I think it was 8,500. He's got the rest of the time to break and rebuild the beliefs that are saying no to $11,552. He went through and guys, the way he crafted it was just incredible. Just incredible. What's interesting is Russell's following the path with ClickFunnels that all of us would be expected to follow as well. First, you write a sales message. You make sure it sells. Then you actually built the product to make sure it fulfills what you sold, right? Then you kind of go on the road selling it like crazy, and you're doing the same webinar to tons of people for a long extended period of time. That's kind of the road that I'm getting on right now and I'm feeling that shift... In fact, I was talking to Cole. You guys know, he's my buddy and he's my first full-time employee, which I'm very excited about to be happening here in a month or two, which I'm very excited about. He was already keeping me on track saying like, "Dude, stay focused man. Don't go getting on anything else," but I'm willing that shift right now. I'm feeling the shift and Russell was in the shift. The shift is don't go build anything else. Just sell the crap out of the thing that you've proven, right? You go and you go and you start selling and selling and selling and selling and selling and selling and selling. Russell for the last little while has done nothing, but the Funnel Hacks webinar... Very few other webinars here and there that he's built from scratch. This one though, I think he built the majority of this one from scratch. It was amazing to watch the template and the way he used the template of the perfect webinar script and he took certain parts here and he moved other parts there. You need to see what parts are malleable and what parts are not. What's interesting is it's no surprise what's not malleable. Storytelling? That's not malleable. You tell your stories. You get good at telling stories. You want to know how you sell? Tell stories. You want to know how to market? Tell stories. At the very based bottom line of it without going to any other detail, marketing to storytelling. You know what I mean? You're building and rebuilding the way someone sees the world through storytelling. That's exactly what he did. He's followed that exact same thing, but this idea of the price marinade is how he was able to get everyone pre-framed for a lot of money. Then it was this insatiable deal when it was only three grand. Does that make sense? He's introducing a constraint. He's introducing a constraint at the beginning of the webinar. The constraint being, "It's 11 grand. Oh my gosh. I've got to come up with $11,000. Holy crap." Then he's releasing it at the end. Same thing with the Funnel Hacks webinar. He introduces the constraint. Hey, this is what ClickFunnels is. It's $297. For $297 you get this and this and this and this and this and this. He's saying that because that creates limits, that creates barriers, right? You get this many contacts. You get this many funnels. You get this many this and that. He's saying that so that at the end of the webinar he can release the constraint for his fast acting bonus and get people to get it. This was like loaded with tons of constraints at the beginning with tons of constraint releasing at the end. That's why I was so freaking nuts and excited about the pitch that I was seeing. I was like dude, you usually just put like one limiting thing at the beginning and then you release that constraint at the end. You put like a hundred and price marinade. Oh my gosh. $3,000 price point. Thee million bucks in an hour and a half. Oh my gosh. Huge guys. Hall of frame right there in my mind. Should be in yours as well. I know that he's got this Two Comma Club Coach trophy, but they better come up for another way for what he just did. $3 million in an hour? That should be its own award. Most of us is just trying to hit that in much longer period of time. It's pretty funny. Walk inside ClickFunnels and he's got I think 17 or 18 Two Comma Club awards of his own, and three of them are $10 million products besides ClickFunnels. The dude knows how to sell. Mad, mad, mad props, my friend. Absolutely incredible. Very fun to watch that. I encourage everyone of you guys to obsess like you would over sports or obsess like you would like a hobby over the act of pitching. You've got to sell. Everything depends on sales. Don't think that you can be in marketing and neglect sales. They are different. They are different. The better marketer you are, the less hard sales we have to do, but you still have to learn how to sell. You still got to learn how to pitch. You still got to learn how to present an offer. Obsess over these elements. These are the things, these are the dials to turn. These are the most high leverage activities for you to go obsess and absolutely love. Anyway, that's all I got for you guys. I'm sorry if it was a little bit in the weeds. It's a little bit of a different styled episode than normally I would do, but I just wanted to talk about that and help you guys understand like why that was such a big deal. It was a huge deal on a lot of accounts. My brain, my little marketing serious brain is going nuts. I literally was just about to end the episode, but I forget one other thing that you guys should all know about. One of the things I've struggled with ... Struggling is the wrong word for it, but like is a challenge when you're face to face with people in an event to get people when it's time to go buy to actually stand up, the physical action of them to stand up and go buy at the back table or back of the room or whatever. The reason why is because they will sit there and they just kind of look at you and they don't want to be rude because you're talking. You have to give them permission to stand up even though you just said, "Go to the back right now. There's order forms on the back. When they're gone, they're gone," or whatever, right? You have to actually say it. It's interesting to watch Russell ... Two of the things here that I've just learned from those are huge, huge, huge guys. I hope that you are soaking this in. This is annoying that I'm going this long, but it was cool to watch him. Several times when he got to the part where the actual call to action came, he would be like, "Guys, if you can tell this is already going to fit you already, like stand up and go to the back. Stand up and go to the back. Seriously right now. Stand up and go to the back. Get up. Stand. Right now. Just get up and go to the back." He kept saying it like that way. Then he would stop like in the middle of the stack. I stood up. He was super nice. He talked about my MLM Funnel in his presentation. All this people around me were asking about it. I stood up to go down to the table and they were like, "You bought already." I was like, "This is something to buy again." I started walking down. He still went for another like 15-20 minutes it felt like. It was funny at least. About 15 minutes. He wasn't even done with the presentation and there was probably a thousand people. He wasn't even done. That's what I want to come say. He was not done and he kept going and going. He was finishing the whole presentation, but there was already this huge massive people at the tables turning their order forms like hotcakes. That's what I want you to understand and know is that ... He continued to throughout, continued to say, "Stand up and go to the back. If you know this is a good for you already, oh look at that. Those are the smart people who are already in the back right now just standing up and go to the back." He kept giving permission because people don't want to get rude. They're sitting there. They're listening to you. They're in this docile state. You got to break that. He'll continue to say it over and over and over and over, getting them permission to come up. I've used that tactic in the past and I made the stupid mistake of not continuing to say it. I kept talking afterwards and some dude sat down after he saw that I kept speaking. It pissed me off. He didn't go buy because he was trying not to be rude to me. That dude should have just went and bought. I did not continue to say stand up. Stand up. When you're doing live events like that, continue to say, "Get up if you know this fits for you. Get up. Keep going. This would be helpful for you. Get up." Then the next day what he had was a ... He was able to stand back up and give a ... It was basically a re-offer. He like did a double close. It was really interesting. He gave away some really cool ... He basically stood up and said, "Look guys, I pulled $3 million out of the room. If you guys want to know how I did it, I've decided that I'm going to add my presentation and all the stuff that I did inside what you bought. If you're like on the fence relieving like in the next little bit, you have got to stand up right now and go to the back and purchase right now because I'll give you ..." He's adding his extra bonuses in. I thought like how interesting is that? The guy is offer creating off the fly. This is incredible. Just making it even better and better and better and better. Anyways, he did this cool follow up thing. I was thinking like how would I apply it to a webinar? I'm thinking if I can, that's going to be a cool thing where I do some cool unadvertised bonus. Hey look, if you're still on the fence, I decided to add X, Y and X in. I think it'd be awesome. Anyway, I'm excited to go apply some of the things that I saw to the online webinar. This certainly apply. Man, guys, I get more excited about Funnel Hacking Live than Christmas and this was like the most exciting thing I've ever seen in my life. It was so cool. This is Russell Brunson and welcome to the Marketing Secrets podcast. Alright, I’m going to talk kind of quiet. It’s like 1 in the morning and I am literally in my closet right now getting packed for a trip we are heading out on tomorrow. My wife is asleep in the room, we got sick kids, it’s kind of a weird trip to be going on, but we’re really excited to be getting away for a couple of days. We’re going to a wedding for someone we care about, and it’s going to be a lot of fun. So anyway, I wanted to return and report back on our awesome, cool week. So I talked before about some of the new project management stuff we’re doing and the batman meetings and all sorts of stuff. And it’s been fun the last probably 3 or 4 weeks we’ve been getting all the pieces in place and launching little batman meetings, neat stuff happening. But this week was the first funnel we were trying to get live. So it was a different process because the goal is to try to pull me out as much as possible. So we’ve been recruiting people, in fact, a couple of you have joined our team. I’ve been putting out Facebook Lives into our group and recruiting some amazing, amazing talent to start working with us and getting these funnels launched. It’s been really, really cool. So the first part we had James P. Friell, and we’ve hired him for six months to come in our office and help us get this working and consistent and keep reiterating on it and keep making it perfect. So he’s got the whole Trello system systemized. It’s evolving and tweaking, so that’s the first step in the process. Getting everybody on board and getting everybody focusing on their unique abilities and nothing else, which has been a really fun process. So that’s kind of the next phase. And then, like I said, to get projects kicked off we did these batman meetings. So I did a podcast episode 3 or 4 back that kind of talked about it, that worked really cool. So we’re doing those. But then this week, it’s like, okay, this is a funnel we’re getting live. And it was the new Expert Secrets book funnel. We had some updates that we needed to make and some stuff like that, plus a tweak that I’ve been teasing you guys about a little bit, which is the new thank you page webinar concept. There’s so many cool things that I wish we could share with you, but I’ll share more after the tests are done. And I’ll be sharing a lot at Funnel Hacking Live as well. Anyway, we’re getting it done and this week working on it, one thing that’s tough is that 2/3rds of our team right now are remote. They’re not here in Boise, that are working on this funnel. So we’re like, communicating through Trello and Slack, but it was just like, ugh, I miss that feeling of being in the office. So one thing we started doing, we opened up a zoom room and just told everybody, “Hey, jump in here and then mute yourself, and you can just work in here and then if you have questions then just un-mute yourself and ask and whomever can jump on.” So we had, I don’t know 8 or 10 of us in this zoom room for the last 3 or 4 days, which was super cool. So we just have it muted and then someone had a question and they’d un-mute themselves and be like, “Hey Russell, what do you think about this?” or “Check this out.” Or whatever it was. It was just kind of like we were in the same office together. It was cool for so many reasons. But one is just, especially with the remote work force, it made everybody feel way more connected and it gave us the ability to move through things very, very rapidly, which was insanely cool. We got so much stuff done, and the weirdest thing is we got to the launch phase where we have everything getting done and I had this weird feeling. Where normally I’m in the middle of it, pushing and pushing, but like because the way the system’s in place, I wasn’t involved hardly at all. I told James and everyone in our office, “I just feel like I’m not doing anything.” Which is actually a good thing, it’s the goal of this whole thing. To pull me out of it, because I’ve been so deep into everything. Prior to this I’ve been focused on the copy, the email copy and the videos and the funnel structure. I just did a lot. And now we’ve got this team of rock stars who are now taking over different pieces of it and its really, really cool. So today we launched the funnel, so the Expert Secrets Book funnel is live, you probably won’t be able to tell by looking at it from the outside, but if you re-buy the book, you’ll see the process and you’ll see some of the stuff which is awesome. So far our average cart value in the last 12 hours is up 8 dollars from what it used to be, which is huge, really, really good. So that’s exciting. And that’s not counting the thank you page webinar, which I think will increase the average cart value by…who knows. A lot. We’ll find out. It’ll take a day or two to get those stats in. But it’s really cool. At the end of it we do this really cool, we called it a post-mortem meeting, which is basically everyone in the group will now say, “Okay, what worked really good for you and what things struggled in this process?” And what’s cool, watching James who has been building out these systems, taking notes. “This was awesome, but this part got stuck.” Or “We lost momentum here.”Or “This part didn’t work as good.” And then he’s updating the Trello cards, and the checklists and the systems based on all those kind of things, and it’s cool. And then next week we pick the next funnels and next week we’ll do the same thing. We start Monday, we launch on Thursday, post-mortem on Friday, then we start over again the next week. So our goal right now, we are trying to roll out a new front end funnel every single week in this team. And it’s pretty exciting. I’ll report more back to you guys. I just want to share with you because I’m getting excited just because we’re systemizing this. Like I said, for us so far it’s always been, I don’t know it’s the same thing every time, but we focus so much more on the art of it. So it’s like we recreate it from scratch every single time. This time we’re trying to figure out the process every single time, there’ll still be room for the art, which is changing things, tweaking things, calling audibles at the last minute and changing stuff, but for the most part having a systematic thing for each funnel that’s being pumped out. So it’s fun and it’s exciting. I’m really, really enjoying the process, so I’ll keep sharing more with you guys. And who knows, I’ll probably at Funnel Hacking Live start sharing a lot of this part, the Trello process and how it ties into the funnel building and the traffic. It’s exciting. I don’t know how much, I don’t remember how much I told you guys, depending on when you’re jumping in and listening to this, but we basically took part of our company and broke it apart and it became, we started like an advertizing agency where Clickfunnels is the only client of this agency. So there’s two halves, there’s the funnel building team and then there’s the traffic team. So that’s the other cool thing. Now the funnel building team got this funnel done and live and then they pass it off, and then the traffic team is now taking this, and there’s this whole process that goes on the back side with the traffic team. That’s the next fun piece we’re going to be figuring out and building out. So exciting. Anyway, I’m excited. Like I said, we’ve obviously done a lot of stuff in the last few years, but now we’re building the processes and the people and all that kind of things in place. It’s going to be cool to continue to watch this thing grow. Anyway, I’ll keep sharing with you guys. I just wanted to share a big one with you guys because it’s really fun and exciting. Welcome to Sales Funnel Radio where you'll learn marketing strategies to grow your online business using today's best internet sales funnels. Now, here's your host, Steve Larsen. All right, you guys. Hey, if you listened to the last episode, I was talking about how I went and I spoke at Local Client Takeover and that was a lot of fun, had a whole bunch of fun doing that. I don't know. The older I've gotten, not that I'm old at all, I'm 29, but the older I've gotten, the more I've realized I truly don't care that much what other people think about me and what's funny is that ... That's not like a chip off the shoulder way like, "I don't care. I don't care." That's not it at all. It's just I've become far more comfortable with my personality and who I am and the value I think I can bring places and being energetic and if I feel like I want to yell, I'm going to yell. That's actually been part of the fun part about having a house now is man, I'll just start ... My little girl, my little 1-year-old and 3-year-old will just start running around the house screaming, right. I'm comfortable doing that in public settings now. There's something to be said about being comfortable with you and self-expression... You know what I mean? Anyways, I was speaking at this event, right, or I was about to go on stage and this isn't a bash at all on that event. It was really, really good actually. It was awesome. Honestly, most of it was about SEO. I don't know anything about SEO. I don't really want to know anything about SEO and so, I tuned out for a little bit because my topic was about local funnels and how to structure agencies in order to sell to local businesses, right, and so that's what I did. I went in and I talked about that, but beforehand what was happening was ... It was pretty funny. I noticed that the emcee, he probably wasn't an actual emcee. What he was doing was he was standing up and he was saying, "Hey," low energy, "Hey, welcome. All right, it's time for our next speaker and here he is." That was like sometimes there's applause, sometimes that's it, the guy just stood up and it was like, "Hey," and I was like, "Oh, man," again, nothing against him. I don't think he's an actual emcee. I think he was just part of the employee staff that was there and I was like, "Gosh, that's really, really rough." What I started thinking about was the time Russell asked me to introduce him to his inner circle. Now obviously, his inner circle knows who he is, right, and this was at the last Funnel Hacker Event we had and just my mind went back to it and I started thinking about it. It was huge lesson for me, right. The event's about to start and Russell's like, "Okay," he comes to me, he's like, "Hey, Stephen, do you want to introduce me before I go out there?" and immediately I got nervous. I was like, "Man, I don't have any problem speaking. I love speaking. I always want to speak, but I've never introduced somebody like what do you do? What's the structure? What's the model? What does it look like? What does it look like to successfully introduce somebody?" You know what I mean? That might sound like a cheesy, dumb question, but to me, it was a big question... I was like, "Dude, yeah, man, but like what do I do?" He laughed and he was like, "Dude, here's your only goal. This is the only thing that you need to do." There's a whole point to this whole thing, by the way, so just keep following me here. He goes, "Okay, all you need to do is you need to ... I don't really care how you do it. I don't care what you say honestly." He's like, "The only goal that I have for emcees is that before I come on stage, they've got to be at a drastically higher state than before so that when I come out on stage, I don't need to lift their state. I don't need to spend time putting energy into the room. I don't need to spend any time helping them raise up to me because I'm a high energy speaker," and I was like, "Okay, that makes sense. Okay, okay." He's like, "So that's all you got to do is get out there, whatever it is, elevate the energy in the room, elevate the state in the room and then, I can come out and meet them with high energy. Otherwise, it's weird. You get on stage and everyone's kind of like blah, like they're not energetic yet. They're not in a state to receive me yet." I was like, "Hey, okay, that makes sense..." I went out there and I told this cool story and I think it worked. It was my first time, the first time I did it was a little bit weird. I don't think I hit it. I don't think I nailed it very well, but second time, I did better. The third day, I definitely did all right. Anyway, that's what I went up to this emcee and I told him, and if he hears this, please know that I'm not at all bashing at all, but it just really brought me back to that lesson of how important it was. I walked up to him and I was like, "Hey, how do I tell this guy that man, you can't be boring and it's really boring," and be respectful for what he was doing, what the event was, but at the same time, I didn't want to go on stage and have everyone just sitting there like, "Okay, dude, start talking. What are your gold bombs you're going to drop on me?" You know what I mean? They got to be at this higher level of energy so that when I come in, I start to go nuts. It's the reason Tony Robbins events are parties. If you change your state, you learn better... If you change your state, you receive things better, you act better, you make decisions faster. I have bad days every once in a while. I had a bad day just recently and I was like, "Crap," and I was telling Russell this and I was like, "Man, I'm sorry, man. It's a rough day. There's some challenges going on and I think I got to change my state." I'll spend some time state control and try and get back into a fiery zone so that I can produce and be a high producer, right. Anyway, so I went up and I told this guy that and he did better and it went fantastic and it was awesome. On the flight back I was listening to High Performance Academy. It's something Russell gave me. It's awesome. By Brendon Burchard and it's been super awesome. I was thinking about life and I was like hey ... I'm not trying and have this be like a super deep podcast at all just so you guys know, but I was thinking about like okay, what do I want to do? What do I want to accomplish? What are the things I want to be known for? What's my life's work? Things like that... I want to be purposeful... I want to be driven... I don't want to just be ... What's that? I can't remember what book that is. He's like, "Most people are just floating around in a river without a paddle." Actually, they have the paddle. They'd just would rather drift and just stick the paddle in the water and start going somewhere. Most people just take life as it comes. They don't really move in a certain direction. I was thinking about all these things and I was getting an Uber driver and I sat down and the Uber app all of a sudden popped up and it said, "Your driver is hard of hearing or deaf. Just be aware." I was like, "Whoa, okay, cool." I just thought she'd be a little bit of hard of hearing, but she was actually completely deaf. Obviously, she can't talk and she's sign languaging for me to sit in the front and things like that. It was really, really special. Actually, it was interesting. I have a niece who's completely deaf and so I have a few cousins and they're trying to learn sign language and things like that so they can keep communicating with her and it's really, really special, but it was interesting. I sat there and it was dead quiet. There's nothing to say, of course, which is a little bit weird for me. Usually, there's some kind of interaction at least going on. I always like to ask the Uber drivers what's going on with their life and learn what they're doing and see what path they're on, stuff like that and all of a sudden, I just thought I've got 20 minutes before I actually get back. What if I learned some phrases in sign language so that by the time I got out of the car, I could thank her and ask her some stuff and things like that? I discretely pulled out my phone. I was sitting in the front seat. It's not like she couldn't know, but I was sitting in the front seat and I started going through and I was looking up all these sign language phrases and I was trying to practice them without moving my hands. We pull up to the house and I start signing thank you, please be safe, hope you're doing okay, stuff like that. Her eyes lit up and she starts saying with really fast sign language and mumbling and all, and thank you and hope you're doing well and things like that and it was really, really a cool experience. I had Brendon Burchard's High Performance Academy stuck in my head. I had a bit of the high from the event that I spoke at going through my head. I had all these things going through my head and then to top it all off, there's been this follower who's fantastic. I'm sure I'll introduce him here to you guys shortly, but there's this follower who has reached out over and over and over over the course of several months begging to do something for free for me and I couldn't believe it and he reached out again. It was like all these events started coming together in one cool moment. I came back upstairs, I came inside after the lady dropped me off from Uber and I came inside and all these things were just racing through my head. I was like I can't go to sleep yet. It was super late. I got back really, really late. I had to go to work the next morning, in just a few hours, but I couldn't go to bed and I started thinking of all the cool things that have been going on and this is something I recommend that you guys do. The entrepreneurial journey is something that's very interesting, and this is a little side tangent real quick here, but there's a really cool part in one of Robert Kiyosaki's books. I think it was the Cash Flow Quadrant where he talked about when you are beginning to move forward in entrepreneurship or any kind of thing in business, but particularly entrepreneurship, there's this really interesting phenomenon that happens where, as you move forward, let's say ... I'll just say it. As you move forward, your character flaws begin to be exposed to you and it's very uncomfortable. It's painful and you don't move on until you address that character flaw. That's something that he taught. You think about it, it's totally true. Let's say I was moving on with my business and there's all these things going on and I'm just getting things started, but I really can't control my own sched. Let's say that I just really can't control my schedule enough and so, I never get up on time and I miss a few crucial meetings and so, the business just sizzles out and dies, right. That's a character flaw, right, and that happens for every single time you start a business every time or anything in business, right. These character flaws will start to blow up in your face. It's not like it's this soft blow. They will blow up in your face and you will not move on. Your business will not progress. You will not do anything until these character flaws are taken care of and fixed... When he said that, I was like, "Holy cow, that's crazy," and I was like, "That's neat. That's interesting," but it stuck with me. As I began to progress and move forward and as I've done things in my personal business and stuff with Russell and all over the place, character flaws have been exposed and it's uncomfortable. I had that in my head and I had this stuff with Brendon and this really cool experience with this ... I had this really special quick connection with this lady who was deaf and I was trying to sign, and this high coming back from speaking, all these things coming on and then, the guy reaching out saying, "Please, let me help you. I see you're struggling in these certain areas." I just gave in. I was like, "You know what? Yeah, I do. Character flaw is blowing up in my face right now... I'm trying to ... I got to fix this one aspect of business. Can you help me? I will not move forward until I get help." He's been helping and it's been great. It's been a character flaw of mine that I know in the last six months, I've not done as much as I can to be connecting with people and show concern for other people's welfare. It's not that I've been greedy. It's just been so focused that I've not taken the time to connect with other individuals at all, right. I was trying to do that with the deaf lady. There's a character flaw that I've been fighting with is this whole ... Guys, I'm just trying to be super vulnerable. This is uncomfortable for me to say with this podcast, but I'm just trying to be open and honest about it, right. It's been a character flaw of mine to shut in and not express what my actual inner feelings are while I'm progressing on this journey. So, I went and I spoke my mind, right, to that emcee and in a loving way said, "Hey, look, could you not do that in the way you've been doing it? Here, try it this way." You know what I mean? It's been a character flaw of mine to suppress some energy and I'm actually much more of a open and out there and very high energy person in my head, but not always in public and that might shock some of you guys. I'm an extrovert, but there's also this part of me that needs to be alone sometimes to recharge and sometimes that can be a character flaw for what's going on around me. It's been a really fascinating last few days for me as I thought about all these little pieces and all these things and this guy. I don't want to just keep talking about this guy, but I want to actually introduce him to you at some point. He's been awesome. He's like, "Hey, man, I love support and it looks like your support sucks." That's basically that's what it came down to and I was like, "Yeah, my support does suck." I get hundreds of questions a week and it stresses me out to death. I'm not good at that. It's not that I don't want to talk to anybody. It's just I feel walls closing in. I feel confinement. I feel like I can't expose myself and ... Whatever it is, I'm not good at support. I'm good at sales or marketing I should say. I'm good at speaking. I'm good at those kinds of things of the aspect of the business. What was really interesting and I think what started this whole ... It's been on my mind in general, but what really started this is on the flight over to go speak, two or three days ago, while I was on the flight ... It was about a week ago when I was flying to Utah with Russell. That's what it was. I decided to read and pick up and read Ready, Fire, Aim and the very beginning of the book was really, really powerful. I haven't got that far into it yet, but while on the flight over there, I just started to read. There was this really, really funny ... It wasn't supposed to be funny, but for the situation I'm currently in, it's been really, really funny, right. Timely, I should say, but it's talking about the different stages of needing to work with other people and I was like, "That's funny. That stuff's been on my mind." There's been this really, really awesome thing that popped up while I was reading and so I underlined it and I just wanted to read it here. It was on page 27 of Ready, Fire, Aim. If you guys have ever read that book, highly recommend it. I'm only, I don't know, 30 pages in, but I can already tell it's going to be one of those favorite books, spots on my shelf kind of thing. Anyways, the bottom here says, "If you make it a practice to hire people with potential, the potential to do a particular job as well or better than you can do it, your business can grow. This way, with each tier being promoted to the next level and each stage of growth giving rise to the new level of challenge and reward for your employees. Smart entrepreneurs will encourage their employees to hire subordinates who are as good and capable as they are. If you are not doing that, start doing it now. It will make everything easier later on." Gosh, this is just so key. It's so amazing and it's not that I've been afraid to do that. It's just it's funny how relevant that is to me right now. He says, "Smart entrepreneurs will encourage their employees to hire subordinates who are as good and capable as they are, if not better." I thought that was so, so important. You guys, you'll not do it alone. You won't do it alone... If you're going to do it, if you're going to try and do it alone, you'll get there to a certain extent. Don't go out and just try and start hiring people. Russell always says, "Hire when it hurts. Hire when you're in pain. Hire when you can't handle it anymore," but know that overall, you're not going to be able to do it alone. You have unique abilities that you're really, really good at and you have stuff that you suck at and it's cool to know what those things are and it's totally fine. If you don't know what those things are, don't worry, just start moving, and like Robert Kiyosaki said, the character flaws will start blowing up in your face and start taking note of that and take some humble pie and just be like, "Okay, that's what it is. That's fine. I don't need to be the best at everything in the world. That's not possible anyway. What am I really, really good at?" Focus on those things. Hire out on the other parts and super, super powerful... Anyways, it's just really interesting to start thinking through all those things. Not going to do it on your own. Understand that you've got some character flaws are going to pop up. I understand this is not like a normal episode for Sales Funnel Radio because it's not totally about sales funnels, but as you guys begin to build or continue to build, just recognize that if you haven't done so before, that there are flaws inside of you and that's fine. Just know that it's going to be way better to find somebody else to go hire and help you out... What's been so cool is the guy who's been helping me out, man, it's been awesome to take stuff and put it on his shoulders and he's come back and be like, "Yeah, totally fine. I can do that. By the way, I've done X, Y, and Z also while you were gone." You're like, "What?" Oh, my gosh, I hired somebody as capable as I am, but in a different area, a different specialty. You know what I mean? It's been amazing. It's been so cool. The level of stress has dropped dramatically in my life and I didn't expect that. I thought that I'd have to manage this person a lot. I thought I would have to ... Not like judging him, just I've never really done this before so I assumed that you would have to do heavy management of the situation and as long as you can hire a few rock stars, go for it. My question became a couple of weeks ago while I realized I needed a person, I needed something, I needed someone and I started looking around. I started making little tiny hooks out there to just see this isn't something I want to care of. It's not something I can focus on. I want to stay focused with Click Funnels and my current thing, but there needs to be some attention in this support area because I'm getting hundreds of questions a week and I can't handle it, but I tell people that they should ask me questions. I'm like, "Crap," that was ... Anyway, it's vicious little cycle there, but it's been cool to go out and vet people out. What I've been doing to vet people is give them a little task and see how they react to it. I was talking to Dan Henry and hope Dan's fine with me sharing this, but he was saying, he's like, "Dude, when you go out ... " I actually talked to a lot of people. It was one, two, three, four, probably five entrepreneurs. I was like, "Hey, what'd you do in this scenario? What'd you do in this scenario?" I got all the feedback from all these different people and I said, "Hey, cool, what are you doing here? What are you doing here? What are you doing here? And How do you actually hire these people? And how do you find this person overall?" Because you could hire anyone off the street, but he may not be that very good. How do you find someone who's good and willing to go the extra mile and who's just full out in love with you? Basically, it was, hey, see who's willing to do it for free, not that you're going to be free loading on them, but you need to find someone who's passionate and who would do it for free because they love your brand. They love what you do. They love the things and the direction that your business is going in. Find somebody who would do it for free and actually doesn't ask for money and does a few tasks without asking for anything and excels in them and pushes forward and babysits the business a little bit and acts like it's their own and find that person. Two or three days ago, I realized there was this certain person and I was like, "Oh, okay, he's the guy and okay, so let's do this." It was this big character flaw moment for me also. I got to give off some control and trust in a certain area and it's been amazing. Anyways, I'll bring him in here at some point and I'll do a little interview because he's got a cool story as well, but for right now, that's basically it. I basically wanted this whole podcast when I came home and I didn't want to go to sleep, I just went to my white board and I just started brain dumping all over the place, all these things around my head and the common theme around all of it was this whole thing. Wow, I have character flaws. I'm totally fine with that. I got to find someone because I'm not going to be able to do it on my own and that's fine. It's been fun to push forward in that area. This is Steve Larsen and you are listening to a absolutely very special Sales Funnel Radio because today is actually my birthday. What? Welcome to Sales Funnel Radio where you'll learn marketing strategies to grow your online business using today's best internet sales funnels. Now, here's your host, Steve Larsen Hey, you guys. What's going on? Hey, so it's my birthday. I am actually not home right now. It's been an absolutely insane week and I super bad ... I had this written down. There's a podcast that's been in my head for a while. It's been like oh, my gosh. This is such cool value. I've got to share this, but it's been so intense that I've not been able to do it. I'm so sorry. To recap, it was about a week ago, right. Today's Saturday, April 22nd, it's my birthday. What? Super cool. About a week ago last Friday, so a week ago Friday, we actually started building the Expert Secrets book funnel. Now, we started that a little bit before that. We knew what it was, but we really didn't dive into it until two days before the thing was supposed to launch. It was supposed to launch on April 18th and it did, but we didn't start until two days before. I remember sitting there, I was like, "Dude, Russell, what is the funnel? What am I supposed to be building for you?" You know what I mean? He was trying to figure that out and we were putting the offer together and stuff like that and it was high, very high pressure, very high pressure, very high stress. It's cool. It's funny. That used to really freak me out, but what I've learned is that the more I embrace the fact that it might suck a little bit or things are going to be hard or whatever, I actually grow so much from it that I actually embrace those hard things now. I don't know, but Russell totally knows what I'm doing every time, but whenever he's like, "Dude, it's going to be so crazy," I always go, "Cool, bring it on. Make it hard, coach. Make it hard, coach." He doesn't ever say anything back. I don't think he knows what I'm talking about, but it's basically goes back to some things I learned where it's like basically my reactions determine my experience. If I immediately can ... If I sit around and just like "Oh, I'm so sad." Like, "It's going to be so hard, eh." That's what most people do. If I can just turn around instead and say, "Hey, you know what, I'm just going to rock it, then it's going to be awesome." Anyway, back to the story. We get there and it's 9 AM and I work the whole time. I get home Friday night, a week ago, Friday night before the book launch and Russell's like, "Dude, I'm so sorry, man, but is there any way you can get this piece of custom coding done before Monday starts?" I was like, "Oh, I just want a break. I'm so tired. I'm so tired." I was a little bit annoyed at first like, "Oh, I get it, I get it," but the pace that we move at, I don't think you guys realize, is exhausting. It is exhausting, but it's super awesome too at the same time, right. It's like it is ... Somebody asked me recently and I think you guys saw on Facebook too someone asked me like, "What's it like sitting next to Russell and building his funnels out?" I was like, "Imagine you're flying the fastest fighter jet on the planet. It's got all the bells and whistles. You got all these missiles sticking on the side and you're going as fast as the thing will actually let you go," right. Mock 4, something ridiculously fast, way past the speed of sound. Then all of a sudden, not that you do on this in a plane, but you roll down the window so to speak and stick your head out like ahhh. That's what it's like. It's so fast paced and I'm constantly digesting as much information as I possibly can just so that I can keep up with what he's doing. It's awesome. It's more value than I ever got anywhere else for anything. I get to sit and pick his brain constantly, which is such a treat. I was tired. It was Friday night. I was tired. I wanted to spend time with my wife. It was the first week in our new house and we're still setting things up and we're making it our own home and I was like, "Oh." I decided I'd stay up super late. I stayed up 'til 3 AM two nights in a row doing two things because there's so many things going on right now, not just the book funnel, right. Number one, what I did is, and I'm just telling you guys the story just so you know what ... I know I'm sporadic with these podcasts, but whatever. Number one, I was trying to get some custom coding done for this funnel, stuff that Click Funnels doesn't do out of the box, but also allows you to do, which is cool, which makes Click Funnel so unique. Really, really cool. I was getting the stuff done, but at the same time, I was trying to finish my slides for the presentation at Ad Con, which I just did a few hours ago and it went so, so, so well. Oh, my gosh, it went so well, but I was trying to finish, right, the whole presentation, get it all together. It was like 74 slides and I was teaching about e-commerce funnels and successful funnel strategies in the e-commerce areas, which my gosh, it went so well. So excited. I love speaking on stage. By the way, that's my shameless plug if any of you guys want me to come do that. I don't charge anything, be a lot of fun. Anyway, so I was juggling all these things going on. I was trying to put the actual house together and build furniture and put things ... It's been hectic. I have barely slept. I have such a headache right now while making this. I can't even tell you. I actually got a little bit worried. I was like, "I'm on so much caffeine right now." That's okay. It's super, super awesome at the same time though... We go through and I finish his custom code piece, and Monday comes along so a week, it's about what, five days ago. Monday comes along and I had finished slides. I sent them over for the presentation and everything to Dan Henry. Monday comes along and I was just thinking to myself like I've built over 160 sales funnels in the last year and I was looking at what we had and I was like, "There is no way that this funnel is ready, even nearly ready for the amount of traffic that we're going to send to this thing the next day." I was like, "Oh, my gosh." I sent a message to my wife and I was like, "Babe, I'm so sorry, but I seriously doubt I'm going to be home tonight and maybe hardly even at all tomorrow." As long as I let her know in the future, as long as I let her know, then she's usually fine. She knew. I was like, "Hey, the book launch is coming up. I'm sure it's going to be sporadic. It might be here. It might be not." As long as I let her know, she's fine with that. Russell cued me in on that tip on how to do it, every once in a while it happens. We went and we start working, and I start doing some more of this custom code thing. We're using Jamie Smith's expertise and I was doing stuff on my own as well and we were putting pieces together and I was putting the other membership area and it looked so good. Oh, if you guys got the Expert Secret book yet, go get it for sure. I'm actually going toss my link if you're okay with that down in the description here just because might as well, right. We were pushing. We were pushing, and it's so funny because Russell's always, "Dude, I'm so sorry, man. I know you never used to really drink caffeine until you worked for me," and I was like, "That's how it works though." I had so much caffeine. I was shaking, but I had to stay up... I had to get this stuff done and I was going 'til 3 AM. About 3 AM, everyone was on the floor and we're like, "Oh, so tired," and I was like, "There's more to do, there's more to do. We're trying to launch this thing at 2 PM tomorrow. There's more. I can't stop. I can't." Russell's like, "Bro, we're going to make better decisions if we're rested." He's like, "We got to go home." I was like, "Gah, like he's right. Dang it." I got most of the things done, custom coded a whole bunch of stuff, and it went really, really well. I was so tired, so tired. The next day, we left at 3 AM and I was back at work at 9 and slammed a whole bunch of caffeine again and just cranked and cranked and cranked. We actually almost hit the deadline. We were only 9 minutes launching. We were supposed to launch at 2 PM Mountain Standard Time and it was actually 2:09 when we made the final call out and it actually started going. Guys, the success has been insane. If you've not had the Expert Secrets Book, you should probably get it. This isn't like a pitch like, "Oh, it's 'cause I work there." No. I've read his book over five times now. I have one of the original spiral bound copies. I have the original files on my computer as I was vetting it back and forth with him during inception of the concepts of this book. I've been a part of this book pretty heavily and it's super, super fun. I've really enjoyed it, hashing out some of these main topics and ideas and core concepts behind why this book is so good. I was really, really shocked and honored to find out that he put me in the acknowledgements and it's super awesome. It's the last paragraph in the acknowledgements. I was so excited, I couldn't believe it. He goes, "The last one I want to thank Stephen Larsen for being a constant sounding board during this project. Without your excitement for this book, it would never have been completed." I was like, "What? Oh, my gosh. Man, that's so awesome. That's so cool." I got in Russell freaking Brunson's book. It's crazy. In the first 24 hours, we sold 10,000 copies, 10,000 copies. Now by comparison, I want you to know that DotCom Secrets sold about 80,000 total-ish and last I checked ... That was the first day and last I checked, we about surpassed 20,000 copies total. It's insane, absolutely insane. The amount of pressure in the market right now is insane for this book and we could feel it. People were going crazy for it and really, really, it's been such a great experience. Anyway, the whole purpose of this episode is that I had this huge ... I already knew it, but it was just a big confirmation, right. It is not about your main product. Let me try and say that it again. The sale is not about the main product. Expert Secrets is a absolutely insane book. It is so awesome, right. The book launches and we put it out there, but we didn't just sell the book, right. You got to wrap it. You got to wrap your main service, your main business, your main product. If you can do that, your income will go through the roof. Are you guys following when I'm saying this? Give a little nod with me as I'm doing this. The reason I'm bringing this up is because so we built this book funnel and there's other funnels that we want to go through and build and put together, but we didn't start with, "Okay, what's the funnel look like? What does the automation sequence look like?" That's what I feel like 90% of people do and it's wrong. That's not how you start. The way that you start is by sitting back and going, "What's the coolest offer on the planet?" I have this core thing. Let's take the book, for example, right, the Expert Secrets book. I have this core book. I have this core thing. If I try and sell it directly, there's a hundred other people that are out there that are doing what you're doing, at least a hundred, right, a thousand, thousand. I should've started with thousands, thousands of other people. The easiest way for you to actually get out there and separate yourself from competition is to make an offer out of your product. An offer can encompass many products, all right, and his book actually goes through this. Actually, I have my fingers right now in the book. I'm holding the places for it. I'm looking at a page ... Wow, that's a coincidence. I'm looking at page 79 and 179. Oh, that's kind of cool. What I wanted to show you guys and tell you guys about real quick is the absolute ... I want you guys to know that we use this. Here's some examples. Yesterday. Wait, what is today? Today's Saturday. It's Friday. Yeah, so it was yesterday. I'm losing track of my days like crazy. Something's going too fast. Yesterday, we were like, "Okay, this book funnel, it's killing it. It's awesome." There's a few tweaks we had to make. I totally forgot to stick a rule inside of our action [inaudible 12:24] sequences and what it is it made people get the "Hey, looks like you didn't purchase," emails when they did purchase and I was like, "Oh crap, sorry, dude, 3,000 people totally got that." That was my bad. Super late at night. I take full responsibility to that, but it's all right. We make mistakes, too. Anyway, so right afterwards, we're like, "Okay, what's this thing we're trying ... " We know there's this area where people are wanting to get more training in and it's this area that Russell said that ... It's really super fun, man. It's my own program that I'm doing with Russell, kind of co-hosting it. It's so cool. I get to be on stage with Russell Brunson teaching his stuff. It's so awesome, you guys. There's this place that we're trying to get people on. I'm not going to reveal anymore about what it is than that, but what we did is we literally spent three hours brainstorming the offer, brainstorming the positioning, and brainstorming the actual message, right. People are like, "Wait a second, Stephen, you already have Click Funnels. You already have the message." Like well, yeah, for that product, but how does this, right ... You guys are going to learn about this in the book. There's a thing called opportunity switches, which is when there's a brand new thing and the thing called opportunity stacks. Remember when we came up with those two concepts. He and I were sitting side by side and we had this huge piece of paper in front of us, it's like oversized butcher paper, and we were going through different offer styles and I was taking out a lot of my notes from previous people I had learned from. He was taking a lot of notes he had previously learned from and side by side, we were figuring this out and we realized that it boils down to two different offer styles. One is an opportunity switch and the other's an opportunity stack. What Russell and I along with Dave Woodward 14:06, the three of us, we started brainstorming was an opportunity stack. There's an area that people are not very good at that we're trying to put an offer in, right, or a product. We've realized, it was two or three days ago, we realized, "Dang it, that doesn't sell very well on its own. It's a great product, but it doesn't sell. How can we make it an offer?" Think about that. In your marketing, think about that with your sales funnel, that's what a sales funnel is. A sales funnel lets you string out the offer inside of the actual funnel, right, so you don't hit them with all these things right at once, depends if it's an e-commerce product or a webinar or whatever, that changes, but let's say it's an e-commerce product, you're not going to hit them with this big, "Hey, buy this huge kit all at once." No. First you offer this. Then you offer that. Then you offer this. Then you offer that, right. It's complementary the whole way through. Guys, think about the offer itself. That's what I realized when I was in college that I was missing. I told you guys I was biking home one day and I was so depressed. I was like, "Gosh, why isn't this working? I am learning so much. I'm learning like crazy." This is probably three years ago. I was like, "Why am I not making money? I feel like I know more than a lot of these other people, but I'm not actually making the money that they are. I'm making way less." It's like, "What is it? Why am I missing this?" I realized that I was not asking for people's credit cards as often as I should be, right. I was not and it was really painful that I wasn't. I realized that I was very good at making funnels look good, but I was not yet good at creating offers. That's what sales is. You're pitching an offer, which doesn't necessarily mean a product or a service, right. That's singular. Offer is plural. There's many things that make up an offer. You guys understand what I'm saying? I hope that you guys understand what I'm saying because it's so key. If you can nail the offer, the funnel's cake. It's so easy, right. All right, let's look at this real quick. All right, this is on the opportunity switch chapter. That's page 79. Russell's talking about how you can run an ask campaign and you just ask your market what do they want, right? What they do is they give you all this data and you create a master class out of it, right. Let's say that you guys tell me the top six things that you guys struggle with, with building funnels, which I've done with you by the way and I do for a reason. It was an ask campaign and I got tons of response and I know exactly what you guys struggle with. I did that for my podcast content so I know what I can help you guys with. I did it for a product that I was thinking about doing. I don't know. I might not, but just to understand who's listening to this podcast better and I know what those things are, right. If I was to go create a product about that, an info product, that's one product... That's not an offer... An offer and a product are not the same thing... Let's fast-forward then to page 179 when he's talking about what's called ... He's talking about the offer basically. He calls it the stack slide, but there's all these little elements that get brought into it at that time, tons of them. You're going to get the six-week master class. You know what I mean? You're going to get the ... Does that make sense? It's all the pieces that make it up, the six-week master class and you could see the whole list on page 192. You can get the six-month enterprise account level of Click Funnels, right. You're going to get Instant Traffic Hacks. This is all making up what is called the offer. Inception Secrets, you're going to get the Soap and Seinfeld secrets. You'll get unlimited funnels to your account, first 50 people only, right. That is an offer. You put it all together. I feel like I'm explaining it, but maybe I'm not. I don't know. What we were doing yesterday was we were creating an offer. What's funny is that this presentation I just did at Ad Con, I'm still here. I'm in the hotel room right now. Crazy tired. My head hurts. My throat hurts from talking so much. There's a huge line of people who wanted to take pictures, which is really fun. That was really fun. Even in my presentation where I wasn't pitching anything, I still was using an offer structure, right. What I did is I literally sat down and I wrote down all the things that I knew, right. These are Facebook ad agency owners, right. Dan wanted me to talk about e-commerce. I was like, "Whoa, that's a little bit weird," but I'm so grateful that he did. What I did is I sat down and I thought through all the knee-jerk reactions people were going to have to me telling them that they need to create an e-com funnel. I was like, "What are they going to say?" Do this to your own people too, right. What are they going to say? They're going to say things like, "I don't have an e-commerce product. They're too hard to make. I don't want to ship things out to people. I don't like spending ads on small little things like that. I wish it was bigger," right, tons of stuff. I made a huge list of I knew of the false beliefs that they would have about my topic. Then what I did is I orchestrated my topic to directly address the false beliefs that they were having. I swear if I put a pitch at the end of that, people would've bought. All right. I got offered $60,000 worth of business right after that presentation today, 60 grand at least. If I had actually tried to close, I know I would've made a lot of money. People were on their seats... It was freaking awesome... Gosh, it went so good... I'm not trying to pat my own back, but I know that the process that I'm telling you right now where you write out the false beliefs and you make products that directly address those false beliefs so that they're no longer false beliefs, guess where I got all that? All right, that's in the book, Expert Secrets. It's not so much about making webinars. This is how to sell. This book taught me how to make it. I already knew how to, but this is yeah, really, really awesome stuff you guys. Anyway, that's all I wanted to say. This started as a long podcast and it's a bit tactile, but I hope that you guys are taking the time to sit back and go, "What is my offer? What am I actually offering people?" If you're sitting back and it's these onesies, twosies product, I know I have that on my personal site. I know that I needed to change it. I just have not had the time to do it. You know what I mean? I know that you guys are in that place as well, some of you guys as well. Some of you guys, just don't be lazy about it. Think through. You don't need to come up with that. I'm doing this right now with my dad and his own webinar and he just launched his podcast and it's going great and he's interviewing these industry leaders in the financial area and financial investing and it's going awesome. We're about to launch his webinar and the thing that I'm doing with him right now is offer creation. He's like, "Maybe we should go focus on the webinar a little more, a little bit more on the funnel." I was like, "No, no, it's not time. We have not yet nailed the offer." Just today, I was reviewing the offer... I was reviewing all the things going in there. I think it directly addresses the things that people are going to have the knee-jerk reactions about, I think. I'm pretty sure that it's going to. We went through and the thing we got to do next is we'll probably run an ask campaign and make sure, but the products themselves is what helps change people's false beliefs using what you'll learn in here, using what is called the epiphany bridge. That's what I'm doing. I'm helping my dad map out all the stories. I'm helping him map out all just some tactile pieces that he's got to teach on the webinar, but I'm helping him map out the stories, all the products that will directly help correct the false beliefs and that's it. You guys start doing that. Don't offer just onesies, twosies. How come people will sell ... This works even on e-commerce. Amazon products, why will people buy a pack of three socks versus a pack of one? Because it's an offer. It's an offer... That may not apply directly to sock selling, but that's the basic concept though and that's what I want you guys to do and start putting together. Know that it's all about offer structure and the way that you present that offer inside of the funnel. The funnel gets really easy afterwards because then you have the first product that goes for the first page in the funnel that helps you sell the first thing. The second page helps you sell the second thing. You know what I mean? You're literally offering upsales throughout and by the end, they've gotten the whole offer. Funnels give one offer... Whenever you have more than one offer inside of a funnel, usually the conversions drop because they have not actually had time to digest the first idea. Anyway, I hope that makes sense guys.
