The size and scale of this year's wildfire season already lead to two states of emergency in Manitoba and Saskatchewan, leaving thousands of evacuees scrambling to leave their homes and seek shelter. In Manitoba, Pukatawagan First Nation is boxed in by wildfire, with planes and helicopters scrambling to get everyone out, and the entire city of Flin Flon has just been cleared, leaving fire crews to fight the out of control wildfire. There are nearly 200 wildfires burning across Canada right noW, and the forecast for hot, dry weather in many parts of Manitoba and Saskatchewan are not looking promising. What questions do you have about wildfire preparedness and response?

That sounds like a lovely idea, unless it is over 30 C and there is no shade. Thankfully, I brought a ball cap for my bald head and I met Dr. Joe Thompson also looking for some shade beside a pole.Dr. Thompson trained is a pediatrician, but now is the President & CEO of the Arkansas Center for Health Improvement. They have a program where they are going to analyze the data of people who got medical cannabis in Arkansas and see what happened to Health Outcomes. Her Poster was about palliative care patients in California. Her group believes that if patients have access to cannabinoid medicine during palliative care, that will promote a better quality of life for the patients. I didn't know anyone at the conference yet, so thankfully, he came up to me, read my name tag and introduced himself. Soon we discovered we were both from Canada, and we laughed over the fact the sliders were taken away too quickly. He told me he was nervous about a main stage talk he was giving. Now I understand why. He was giving a very technical, science heavy talk to a room full of cannabis doctors and researchers. But he killed it during his talk. Rainbow encompasses three steeply dipping lenses which start just 100m below surface. An updated resource estimate in July outlined 3.44M tons indicated grading at 3.59% CuEq, positioning Rainbow as one of the highest grade undeveloped copper projects in Canada. Meanwhile early indications point to a strong exploration upside remaining along trend and at depth.Equally exciting, new drill results announced in September highlighted a significant new discovery called Descendant (named after early regional explorers). Four zones of high-grade copper-zinc-gold-silver sulphides were encountered spanning an interval of ~350 meters vertical depth. With mineralization open in all directions, this large system shows early similarities to some of the world's premier VMS deposits. Assays from several step-out holes are anticipated in early 2024, which will provide initial clues on the potential scale emerging at Descendant.Between resource expansion underway at Rainbow and the new discovery potential unlocked at Descendant, CEO Max Porterfield sees a clear line of sight to double Callinex's global resource inventory from the current 6M ton baseline over the next 12-18 months. Callinex is funded for its near-term exploration campaign with a strengthened cash position. The company has attracted necessary capital raises from long-term supportive shareholders in each of the past cycles when entering new discovery phases. Even amidst the challenging junior mining equity backdrop during 2022, key technical catalysts drove Callinex 65% higher in early 2022 before drifting back to the current $1.80 share price. Despite a tough market for precious metal exploration companies, Canadian Gold interim president and CEO Ian Ball said he has a plan to attract investors.  On Friday correspondent Paul Harris hosted Kitco Roundtable with Ball and Rob McEwen, chairman and chief owner of McEwen Mining.  Canadian Gold is a Toronto-based mineral exploration and development company whose objective is to expand the high-grade gold resource at the past producing Tartan Mine, located in Flin Flon, Manitoba. The company holds a 100% interest in greenfields exploration properties in Ontario and Quebec adjacent to some of Canada's largest gold mines and development projects, specifically, the Canadian Malartic Mine (QC), the Hemlo Mine (ON) and Hammond Reef Project (ON). The company is 37.6 % owned by Rob McEwen.  Ian Ball was the former CEO and president of Abitibi Royalties. In 2021 Abitibi Royalties was acquired by Gold Royalty.
