Gabrielle Carteris helped define a generation as Andrea Zuckerman on Beverly Hills 90210. But the story behind the show is bigger, deeper, and more surprising than you think. In this candid and wide-ranging conversation, Gabrielle opens up about the truth behind landing 90210, including the age secret she kept when she was cast as a 16-year-old. She reflects on overnight fame, Beatles-level chaos, and how the show shaped her adult life in ways she is still unpacking. But this episode goes far beyond nostalgia. Gabrielle reveals the devastating on-set injury that temporarily left her partially paralyzed and unable to speak, the lawsuit that followed, and why she refused to sign an NDA after winning her case. That experience ultimately led her into leadership, where she became President of SAG-AFTRA and helped guide the union through historic negotiations. She also discusses: • The real impact of the Hollywood strikes • Why AI and voice replication are changing the entertainment industry • The merger of SAG and AFTRA • Losing Luke Perry and Shannen Doherty • The isolation of extreme fame • Aging in Hollywood and rejecting shame • Why family matters more than celebrity From 90s television icon to labor leader and activist, Gabrielle Carteris shares what she has learned about power, resilience, identity, and what no longer scares her. This is one of the most revealing Beverly Hills 90210 interviews you'll see. Subscribe for more conversations with the stars you grew up with. Of The Loom t-shirts i høj, høj kvalitet. Playliste: Clouseau - Give it up Dodo And The Dodo's - Giv mig skibene tilbage Billy Ray Cyrus - Could've been me Double You - Please don't go KWS - Please don't go Jon Secada - Just another day Jimmy Nail - Ain't no doubt Electronic - Disappointed Roxette - How do you do? INXS - Beautiful girl Toto - Stop loving you Shu-Bi-Dua - Sexchikane Miriam Makeba - Pata pata The Shamen - Ebeneezer Goode

Today on Too Opinionated, actor Mark Espinoza drops in for a visit! Mark Damon Espinoza's breakout role as 'Carlos,' Kelly Bundy's clueless boyfriend on the hit television series Married with Children, quickly established him as an audience favorite at a time when LatinX actors were scarce in prime time television. Subsequently, Mark has appeared in numerous films and theatrical productions as well as hundreds of hours of television on such notable shows as The Endgame, Major Crimes, Criminal Minds, Mayans M.C., American Horror Story, and Scandal, playing everything from blood-sucking priests to kind-hearted cops. This week on 90's NOW we're talking about why Mariah Carey truly is the "Christmas Queen" and how moving past some drama around Sex and The City has left one cast member feeling “sad and uncomfortable.” Also, how returning to the Scream story was kind of emotional for some original cast members and what actress Gabrielle Carteris is saying about 90210! Thank you for listening to 90's NOW!
90210's Gabrielle Carteris steps Behind The Rope. Yes, Andrea Zuckerman is here!!! Ok, ok, we DO know the difference between Gabrielle Carteris and Andrea Zuckerman. Gabrielle is here to chat about her full career and the role she is most iconically known for in 90210. Gabrielle talks about what the audition process was like, how she got the role and what it was like being on a hit Aaron Spelling teen nighttime soap. We talk what it was like to fake her age of 21 to get the job and to play a 15 year old teenager when she was 29 years old. We chat about her costars - no last names needed - Shannen, Tori, Jennie, Brian, Jason, Luke, and Ian and all those rumors from back in the day on set - the “red dress” catfight, the BTS hook ups, and, of course, Shannen Doherty and her “bad girl” reputation. We talk about Shannen's exit, her replacement Tiffani Thiessen, guests stars such as Oscar Winner Hillary Swank, her pregnancy being written into the show, and her exit at the end of Season Five. Flash forward, and Gabrielle talks about what being the President of SAG-AFTRA (and now first American President of FIA) was like, her many celebrity run-ins / colleagues, and backstage shenanigans from the esteemed SAG Awards. As busy a job as that is, Gabrielle found herself moonlighting in 2019 when Tori and Jennie came a callin' for the reboot, BH90210, when the entire original cast signed on to play heightened versions of themselves. Gabrielle opens up about that bittersweet reunion due to Luke Perry's passing as well as how hard it is to watch friends go through tough times - “True Tori”, Shannen's current health, and so on. Finally, we reflect back on 90210 and its blockbuster cultural effect that we are still, and will forever be talking about, all these years later. @gabriellecarteris @behindvelvetrope @davidyontef BONUS & AD FREE EPISODES Available at - https://www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetrope Brought to you by TENTREE - https://www.tentree.com (15% Off First Order - Use Code “Velvet”) Brought to you by QUIP - https://www.getquip.com/velvet (First Refill Free & Up To 40% Off Bundles) Brought to you by SHIPSTATION - https://www.shipstation.com (60 Day Free Trial. Carol Potter steps Behind The Rope. Cindy Walsh from the beloved and iconic Beverly Hills, 90210. We start at the beginning chatting about how Carol was cast, the buzz around town about Aaron Spelling's new teen drama, and just what life was like in the early days when all of its cast were virtual unknowns. Life was anything but stellar. We chat about the show premiered to blah ratings and how that one unprecedented decision to air new “Beverly Beach” episodes over the summer changed everything. Carol discusses what it was like when the relatively unknown cast skyrocketed to fame of epic proportions and answers all out nuanced questions about Shannen Doherty, Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, Luke Perry, Jason Priestley, Gabrielle Carteris, Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering. We talk about all the buzzed about topics from back in the day - Tori auditioning under a fake name, Shannen Doherty's bad behavior, Shannen and Jennie's physical altercation and Shannen's cutting of her hair, despite warnings, which ultimately led to her firing. Carol recounts stories from the tension on set caused by Shannen and what is was like once she was replaced by Tiffani Thiessen who was then dating Brian Austin Green. We also discuss Oscar winner Hillary Swank's role, how and why she was fired, and all our other favs Vanessa Marcil, Christine Elise, Kathleen Robertson, and Lindsay Price, to name a few. We pay homage to the reboot (AnnaLynne McCord shout out) before discussing what it is like to receive a call regarding the BH90210 Tori/Jennie produced “heightened version”of themselves show, to see the gang again and why she thinks it was so short lived and didn't resonate with audiences. That heightened version of herself included played a “therapist” since, well, she is a licensed therapist in real life. On that note, Carol chats about her new book “When Your Child has a Chronic Medical Illness”, the untimely passing of Luke Perry, Shannen Doherty's unfortunate battle with cancer, and what is next for the actress who was part of one of the most groundbreaking, revolutionary, classic, iconic, life changing shows in history.@carolpotter90210@behindvelvetrope@davidyontefBonus Episodes Available at - https://www.patreon.com/behindthevelvetropeBrought to you by BETTER HELP - https://www.betterhelp.com/velvetrope (10% Off First Month - Use Code "velvet rope")Brought to you by BOLL & BRANCH - https://www.bollandbranch.com (15% Off First Set of Sheets - Use Code “Velvet”) Merch Available at - https://www.teepublic.com/stores/behind-the-velvet-rope?ref_id=13198 See acast.com/privacy for privacy and opt-out information.

It's been five years since the gang graduated from West Beverly High, and since someone at the network presumably had the sense to predict that this crew wasn't going to make it to their ten-year reunion, we're made to suffer through their stupid, pointless five-year reunion. No, that doesn't mean we get appearances from Brenda, Dylan, or DeadScott's restless ghost; only Gabrielle Carteris had nothing better to do, so Andrea returns to let us all know she's desperately unhappy and that her marriage is on the verge of collapse. Brandon -- currently dating a woman who's already dumped him twice -- decides he's an expert on relationships (as well as everything else), and that it should therefore fall to him to bray her into making things work with Jesse. Among the many West Beverly alumni we've never seen before is Ross Webber, Kelly's rapist -- someone she identifies to Val but not to her "partner," Brandon. Donna accepts that Noah doesn't want to be her date right up until the moment he gets profiled in a magazine piece about hot young L.A. business owners that describes him as single, whereupon she proceeds to make a federal case about his commitment to her. David bristles at Val's suggestion that they go to the reunion and lie their faces off about how great their lives are, particularly since their entire social circle will also be there and know the truth, but stupidly acquiesces. And Janet finagles an invitation for herself to go as Steve's date -- which he, of course, pretty much immediately makes her regret.
