South Carolina obviously lost a lot of football talent off of its 2024 roster- really good to elite talent as the defense featured three second round NFL Draft picks and had a total of five drafted. The Gamecocks lost Rocket Sanders and Josh Simon and three interior offensive line starters on that side of the ball, too. But there is precedent for South Carolina losing elite players and keeping on. Stephon Gilmore, Alshon Jeffery and Melvin Ingram, among others, headed off to the NFL following the 2011 season and who replaced them on the 2012 team, along with the depth on that team which was considered by some to be the best of the Steve Spurrier era, may surprise you.
