Gina Thompson began singing at an early age and was signed to her first recording contract with Mercury Records shortly after graduating high school. Nobody Does It Better was Gina Thompson's first album. Released in 1996, it featured production by Missy Elliott and Diddy, and featured appearances by Elliott, Diddy, and Craig Mack, among others.[1] Her first single from the album, "The Things That You Do", was a success, peaking at number 41 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, and number 12 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. Thompson's second album, If You Only Knew, was set to be released on September 21, 1999 on Elektra Records through Missy Elliott's The Goldmind Inc. imprint. Two singles were released in advance of the album's anticipated release date: "Ya Di Ya", featuring Elliott, peaked at number 38 on the R&B chart, while "Caught Up", featuring rapper Beanie Sigel, failed to chart. The album was shelved, and Thompson asked to be released from her contract. Thompson continued to perform as an independent artist, and began work on a third album in 2008. #GinaThomspn #TheThingsThatYouDo #WhatYouNeedToKnow Halftime Chat is hosted by Mental Health Psychotherapist Nnamdi E.S. So April 2020 at the start of Covid I got nostalgic and recorded a 90's (isolating in the) house mix. A year later Ontario was going into yet another 4 week lockdown and I got nostalgic again, posting a hip hop from my twenties mix. This year I figured I'd keep with this new tradition of nostalgia for April and am posting a Throwback rn'b mix! This mix is more mainstream than my usual more "neo soul" rn'b vibes, inspired heavily by a wedding I had recently dj'd, where the grooms wanted throwback rn'b during dinner. Hope you enjoy this timeless mix!Follow on Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/dj_j_me Subscribe on Apple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/podcast/id306968245 Follow on Twitch: https://www.twitch.tv/dj_j_me Bookings & Merch: jamiewichartz @ yahoo.ca

As one of the best selling female rappers of all time, Missy Elliot climbed to the top on her own terms. Growing up as an only child, Missy faced poverty, despair, and abuse. She used music as an outlet to escape and eventually created the group “Fayze” where she signed with Swing Mob. Missy's music dreams were coming true; in the early 90s she was able to collaborate with Timbaland & Magoo and Raven-Symoné. However, struggles with her body image and creativity resulted in her departure from Fayze. Her next big opportunity came from Aaliyah and Timbaland. The three were inseparable through their unique style of music. Her success continued with the release of “The Things You That You Do” with Gina Thompson and “The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)”, plus getting signed with her own label, The Goldmind. Now, Missy has created a legacy by producing for big name artists, performing at the Super Bowl, and being inducted to the Songwriters Hall of Fame. As an artist, writer, and producer, Missy Elliot changed the game for women in hip hop by staying true to herself and opening the door for innovation. Watch Behind the Music now on Paramount+. Atlantic City native Rodney Darkchild Jerkins takes time out from his busy schedule to chop it up with the Radio Boys (C.Truth & Kev Lawrence) about his relationship with Missy Elliott, putting on Gina Thompson and not working with her again, taking Brandy to the next level (the 1st album he did with her sold 8 million copies), calling in a favor from Notorious Big, the business of producing, riding through harlem with Michael Jackson and being the Quincy Jones of this generation. Thats just for starters. A lot will be revealed from this young music veteran who has made hits for Tiffany Evans, Mary J Blige, Monica, Janet Jackson, Destinys Child, Keyshia Cole, Toni Braxton, Britney Spears, PCD, J-Lo, Natasha Bedingfield and Tatyana Ali (yes Ashley from the Fresh Prince). The group announced that they'll be hitting the road this summer for their "I Love The 90s Tour" and this all happened shortly after we commented on how the group hasn't toured in forever. We talk about the impact of these nostalgia tours and if they're dangerous for an artist. We also talk about some new R&B albums that are due out later this year including Trey Songz, Kevin Ross and Patti LaBelle. We discuss different marketing ideas that Patti can incorporate into her new album such as her Patti pies. We talk about the state of Trey Songz's career and where he fits in today's R&B world with the addition of all the trap music that's going on. Kyle gives a quick review on Kevin Ross' debut album and calls out every other R&B media outlet for not covering him even though "Long Song Away" is one of the top songs on the Urban AC chats right now. Afterwards we debate a topic that's been talked about for over 20 years now and that's of course the 112 vs Jagged Edge vs Dru Hill vs Next battle. We take turns ranking into group's discography to see where their music lands on our lists. We each have different opinions on their projects but we can all conclude that every group had some real classics. We then talk about Gina Thompson and try to figure out what she's up to these days. We finish the podcast by talking about french fries and try to figure out which fast food chain has the best ones. Somehow McDonalds is not number one but you'll have to listen to see who ends up winning.

E come tutti i sentimenti e' incerto, fragile e imperfetto. Contrariamente a quanto si crede, forse non e' inciso profondamente nella natura femminile.
