This episode of *The Iowa Manufacturing Podcast* features Mike Wagner of White Rabbit Group, discussing the concept of *Response Readiness*. Mike dives into the challenges of effective collaboration when dealing with complex problems, particularly when working with highly skilled individuals. He emphasizes the importance of identifying your natural response type—whether you're a Teller, Accepter, or Guesser—and how these roles impact problem-solving. Mike introduces a transformative approach to collaboration by encouraging listeners to ""slow down to speed up."" By leading with discovery, translating assumptions, and persuading others to take action, teams can uncover the deeper issues beneath surface-level problems. This method has proven to improve internal collaboration and client relationships by reducing rework and preventing escalations. In this episode, Phil, Sam, Lisa, Chris, and Anthony play a game called Wavelength. Each player takes turns as the guesser and asks the others to name something in a category that corresponds to a number on a scale. The players try to be on the same wavelength and guess the number correctly. Wavelength is a fun game that challenges players to think like each other and be on the same wavelength. The game prompts interesting discussions and reveals different perspectives on various topics. Icebreaker questions can be tricky to come up with, as they can be either too easy or too difficult. Knowing each other well and understanding each other's preferences and thought processes can help in playing the game. The game fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork as players try to guess the correct number. Wavelength is a fun game that involves rating various topics on a scale of 1 to 20. Giving detailed answers in the game can lead to more engaging conversations. The hosts and guests have different opinions and perspectives, which adds to the enjoyment of the game. The game prompts discussions and reflections on various topics, such as video game consoles, weather conditions, and NBA teams. We've dropped the budget on today's guesser. Can they get it done on Day 1?!
Are you an asker or a guesser? In 2015 while I was deep in hermit mode writing Pivot while living in a tiny studio apartment in Nolita (North of Little Italy), a friend texted: “Hey, do you mind if I crash on your couch tomorrow night?” To this day, I still feel somewhat bad about my answer . . . but every bone in my body was saying, “Yes, I mind.” I said no. Years later, I still wonder: Should I have rolled with the punches, accepted the spontaneous company, and just said yes? Today I'm sharing a framework that changed my life when I first read about it in Jocelyn Glei's book, Unsubscribe—the difference between ask culture vs. guess culture. Or, as I like to think about it, spaghetti throwers vs. spaghetti twirlers. Which one are you?
When communicating with others, some of us are askers and some are guessers. If you don't know, Crystal and Sasha break down each style and of course, use their own experiences to help you figure out what your style is. Instagram & Tiktok: @nevertolduspod

40 years and Counting - Building Business Success in Therapy Practices- What Matters Most
On this podcast, I share some thoughts on the first question most therapists have asked me in the last 90 days since COVID 19 entered our vocabularies and soon after, our day to day lives. What do I think will happen to private practices?? While no one really knows what is going to happen, there are ways we can move forward from where we are. I hope to impart useful and practical information, demonstrate that there is some aspect of "pandemic positivity" and point to reminders of one important concept: The post COVID future does not exist yet and will only exist after we create it.

We get through some quality Tightest Of All Time (TOAT) nominations, including a cracking story from Adam Hollioake. We catch up with FOTS Andrew Gode as he fills us in on the things keeping him occupied during isolation, best craft beers, NRL Supercoach and Anti-vaxxers. He then tells you a way to make free money with the “Sco Mo first word at presser” novelty bet. There is rhyming slang, borderline horrible puns and plenty of pot shots at each other again throughout. Get in touch guys via our website to get the TOAT nominations in. “Be an Asker, not a Guesser.”A serial entrepreneur and startup adviser on a mission to change today's perception of millennial consumer behavior, Chino Lex is the founder and CEO of Keyring, the cable bundle of the subscription generation. With savings from his carpet-cleaning job at the young age of 19, he decided to leave college one day after freshmen orientation to start and bootstrap his first company. An Amazon study revealed that 100ms in latency cost them 1% in sales. Meanwhile in crypto, it can take as long as a week to set up a CoinBase account! Imagine how conversion rates would skyrocket if the industry tackled latency and solved for the two greatest voids in the market: fiat on-ramping and scalability. So, what blockchain startups are making progress toward these goals? And how is the blockchain landscape likely to shift in the next few years as we work toward large-scale adoption? Joey Krug is the CIO of Pantera Capital, an investment firm focused exclusively on digital currency and ventures in the blockchain space. Prior to Pantera, Joey cofounded the Forecast Foundation, an organization that contributes to the Augur Project, a decentralized prediction market protocol owned and operated by the people that use it. He also started an AngelList syndicate that backed the popular 0x protocol. Today, Joey joins us to explain how he balances his work for Pantera with his ongoing involvement in Augur. He offers insight around the early days of the Augur Project, discussing the decision to pursue an ICO, his method for building the team, and the hurdles he faced developing Augur on Ethereum. Joey also shares why he took on the oracle problem at Augur and gives advice on building for chains other than Ethereum.
