Is there no middle ground between us?  Do we break, or can we bend a little, so that stronger together we can flourish once again? How far apart are these two sides on Education, Environmental Issues, Climate Change, Jobs and Wages, Corporations as a Person, Military and Interventionist policies, Civil Rights vs. 1964 Rulings, corrupt Policing, and Judiciary, and so many more?  We need elections to focus on more of what we can accomplish together rather than destroy the other side.Elections should be constructive, not destructive.#WeAllWantTheSameThings #Elections00:55 Do You Know What Triggered The Boston Tea Party Do You Know What It Is02:34 Who Said I am Afraid of An Army of Sheep Lead by a Lion13:31 Who said We Will Bring The Giants To Their Knees and You Will Witness Our Revolution14:05 Who Said I am Tired Of Talk That Comes To Nothing15:39 Who Said Let Us Not Seek The Republican Answer, Or The Democratic Answer, But The Right Answer27:25 The One Virtue That Mattered Was An American Would Stand Fast And Have Your Back28:23 Elections Should Be Constructive, Not Destructive

WHAT VALUE HAS A FAKE CRY WHEN YOU'RE PRESENTING? If you're in the audience and the speaker or teacher cries over a story that has no real emotion, how do your respond? Here are a few realities of leadership communication which many people face because they have been given bad advice. THE BAD ADVICE OFTEN SOUNDS LIKE THIS: 1. EMOTION IS POWERFUL WHEN SPEAKING 2. EMOTION SHOULD BE USED WHEN SPEAKING 3. BE EMOTIONAL WHEN SPEAKING EVEN IF YOU HAVE TO FAKE IT Here's the real challenge with the above advise. Statements one and two ARE TRUE and they create the illusion that statement three must be true as well. In reality, fake emotion in a speech is the same level of inauthentic and incongruity as any other form of manipulation. Leaders who emotionally manipulate others to gain or maintain control are seldom of ever seen in a good light. Speakers who use conjured or fake emotions run the same risk when the people they speak to find out. The old adage, “How you do anything is how you do everything” should be considered. If you fake it from the stage, if you must manipulate through illusion to “win the crowd”, HOW REAL is what you have to offer in the end? We don’t need billionaires and government to save us. They can and should play their part, don’t take me wrong. But we can’t and shouldn’t wait around for them to change the world. That’s not their role AND it’s never going to happen. It’s our job to change the world. How? Real and lasting change will only happen when millions of people give a damn imperfectly and over a long period of time. I share more on this in the first part of this episode.  During the last part of this episode, I share some of my favorite clips from some of the podcast episodes that have taken place during the first few months of 2019. The clips were taken from my conversations with Claude Silver, Courtney Hale, Audrey Assad, Scott Hamilton, Trae Crowder, and Holiday Reinhorn. Speaker: Sam Haddon – New Series: Ditto Week 1: How Real is Your Jesus? What if for one day, Jesus wakes up in your house, walks in your shoes, assumes your calendar? Your boss is now His boss, your circumstances become His circumstances. What if for one day Jesus lives your life with His heart… what would you be like? In this new series, we uncover the great truth of Christianity, that Jesus’ heart can be our heart, and that for anyone who claims to live in Him must “Walk as Jesus Walked” (1 John 2:6) or do “Ditto” Reading: 1 John 2:3-6 (NIV)
