On Friday 28th of February 1997 sometime after 7pm, at 6b Gosfield Street, a brutal and bloody attack on a lone sex-worker occurred in this first floor flat. Barely reported in the newspapers and ignored by television, the murder of ‘Robyn' Browne is a case which was largely forgotten… yet the truth of what happened could be hidden among a scattering of facts, being drenched by a deluge of bigotry, racism and fear which helped derail the investigation.Date: Friday 28th of February 1997 after 7pm (time of murder)Location: First Floor, 6B Gosfield Street, Fitzrfovia, London, W1Victim: 1 (James Darwin Errol Browne , known as 'Robyn')Culprits: 1 (James Hopkins).Murder Mile is one of the best UK / British true crime podcasts covering only 20 square miles of West London. From WLBT JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A Jackson city councilman and a local advocacy group are pushing to ban gun sales in the capital city. On Sunday, Ward 3 Councilman Kenneth Stokes, along with members of Reset Jackson, led a procession to the Mississippi State Capitol, where they posted a proposed bill on the front door. The bill, according to advocates, would ban the selling and advertising of guns and ammo in the city limits. “We deserve to bear arms just like everybody else, but this isn't about having the right to bear arms,” said James Hopkins, founder of Reset Jackson. “We're talking about selling arms.” “When you're the highest murder rate in the country, sometimes, you have to make common-sense decisions.” The deadline to file general bills is Feb. 19. The bills must come out of committee by March 5. Stokes says he and others will continue to push the legislation, even into the next session.

CAREER-VIEW MIRROR - biographies of colleagues in the automotive and mobility industries.
James has spent his last 23 years in the automotive industry in a variety of increasingly senior roles with OEMs, and a global Leasing company, both in the UK and European roles, moving overseas with his family twice. For the last 6 years he has been with Constellation Automotive Group, in a variety of MD roles, running the Fleet Solutions and Retail Operations businesses. His last 3 years have been focused on online used car retailing, supporting both cinch & Cazoo in the physical operational delivery of the online consumer experience. In our conversation, as well as covering his professional journey, we talk about how his career choices have impacted on his family and relationships. It's clear that taking opportunities outside of his comfort zone has helped him develop a wide experience base and skillset across the entire automotive supply chain. Without spoiling it for you, I will say that James's story features some dramatic plot twists and I'm grateful to him for sharing his experiences so openly. I look forward to hearing what resonates with you. You can contact James via LinkedIn or email: kendalloneltd@outlook.com If you enjoy listening to my guests career stories, please follow CAREER-VIEW MIRROR in your podcast app. Instagram @careerviewmirror Email: cvm@aquilae.co.uk Episode recorded on 11 and 17 November, 2022
When the East Texas voting rights advocate died under mysterious circumstances in 1976, his death was seen as a murder. However, officials called it a suicide. Former Palestine resident James Hopkins explains what happened when he attended Robinson's funeral. Also, we hear about the unusual honor for Robinson connecting him with The Reverend Martin Luther King Jr.
Rev. James Hopkins, pastor of First Lutheran in Boston, MA and Chaplain in the U.S. Navy Reserves, joins the Rev. Dr. Phil Booe to study Romans 16. A list of nearly unpronounceable names concludes St. Paul's letter to the saints in Rome. The people he mentions in his personal greetings may not be familiar to us, but their names here in Scripture remind us that the Apostle is writing to real people with lives and vivid and complex as our own. The details of their lives may be lost to history, but God has not forgotten them. In this episode, Pastors Booe and Hopkins reflect on St. Paul's final greetings and his admonition to the saints that they cling to true doctrine and avoid those who would try to cause division in the church.

As educators become eligible for the vaccine, some school districts are reopening for in-person learning. The move is forcing families and educators to grapple with what’s possible to ensure health and safety inside the classroom. Host Dave DeWitt talks with James Hopkins, principal of Lakewood Elementary in Durham, about the transition to in-person learning. Plus, two North Carolina teachers share how they are coping with the road ahead.
"A" is for Adams, James Hopkins (1812-1861). Governor. A native of lower Richland District, Adams was a Yale graduate and cotton planter. In 1834, he was elected to represent Richland District in the South Carolina House of Representatives. He served three terms in the House and two terms in the South Carolina Senate. In 1854, the General Assembly elected him governor. Seeking a cause to unify southerners and accelerate the division of North and South, he addressed the General Assembly in 1856 and called for the reopening of the international slave trade. His message asserted that if the slave trade were wrong then so was the institution of slavery. In 1860 Richland District selected James Hopkins Adams as a delegate to the Secession Convention, where he advocated South Carolina’s immediate secession from the Union.

Welcome to Episode 87 of Building My Legacy. In this podcast lifestyle coach James Hopkins talks about what it takes to get an entrepreneurial business off the ground. An expat himself, James works primarily with other expats, turning them into entrepreneurs. His advice is valuable for all of us – whether you’re thinking about starting your own business, struggling with how to turn a hobby into a real business or looking for a mentor who can help with your career and building your legacy. James shares his journey with us – becoming an expat at a relatively young age and, then, realizing he needed a more stable income and life when he discovered he was about to become a father. His decision to focus on and build his coaching and consulting business, The Lifestyle Marketeer, led him to a marketing strategy that revolves around paid digital advertising. And he’s seen success, growing his business to multiple seven figures. Today James helps clients use paid advertising to promote and grow their businesses in a cost-effective way. He also provides training and mentorship for expats who want to start their own digital marketing agencies. So if you want to know:– How expats can become successful entrepreneurs– The three keys to getting a new business off the ground– The value of a mentor and how to choose the right one for you– Why to stop “chasing the numbers” and find real value in a work-life balanceAbout James HopkinsThe CEO of The Lifestyle Marketeer, James Hopkins left the UK at the age of 20 and moved to Thailand. After working at a call center and other jobs, he discovered the world of internet and social media marketing and that he could achieve success as a coach and consultant. Fatherhood motivated James to become what he is today: a multiple seven-figure business owner, a person of influence and a life-changer for the many expats who have taken his training. He’s helped these expats who weren’t satisfied with their current job – teaching English, for example – and wanted the income and freedom to live a better lifestyle. James has helped hundreds of expats become entrepreneurs, running successful digital marketing agencies. While some church bodies are settled on how a Church should be organized and ran, others are not. That's a big deal! Who is in charge? The preachers with special guests, Rev. Graham Glover, James Hopkins, and his brother Mike Hopkins, have fun talking about the importance and unimportance of holy organizing.

We are back! Summer has interfered joyfully with our weekly scheduled but have no fear cheapseats! Take a listen Thank you to Rev. James Hopkins of 1st Lutheran in Boston for joining us. Stop by Pastor Hopkins church if you are in the beautiful city of Boston! topics: 1. The poor you will always have with you! Should churches be involved in helping the needy? how? Can it take the place of preaching the Gospel? 2. Leadership traits from Jesus. Can we learn anything from Jesus as far as leadership principles? Do we need Jesus to teach us about leadership. Is it ridiculous to write books about Jesus leadership traits? 3. Hugging. Do you hug? Should you? Can you hug too much? 4. Repentance - Augsburg Confession article on repentance. Can a person who has fallen away come back to the church? Should it be a process or waiting period? 5. Cremation! Is it a sin? Does God care? Why were churches against it up through the 20th century? music: Dead bees, Samuel Martin Hess

This week, we talk about the sneaker accomplishments we would like to give thanks to. We recount our year in sneaker collecting and how fortunate we are. We also cover the news and releases of the week. Talk about how shoes can be for a great cause via charitable actions from sneaker companies, etc.Since it is Thanksgiving (in Canada), we discuss a story we heard via the Sneakerbox Podcast of an unfortunate incident that had happened to a young man by the name of James Hopkins and how we would like your help in deciding on the contribution that Sneakerphiles would like to give to this individual. But, it's not all hugs and kisses this week. The gang here at the Sneakerphiles Podcast throws down an official challenge to an East Coast "rival." Find out the details and let us know if you'd be interested in this challenge going down.As usual, all comments, feedback, and questions are welcome.
