In this interview, I have a conversation with renowned director Jeremiah Kipp who directed the Shudder Original, "Slapface" (2022) Synopsis: A boy deals with the loss of his mother by creating a dangerous relationship with a monster rumored to live in the woods. Plot Summary: After the death of his mother, Lucas, a loner who lives in a rundown home with his brother Tom, regularly seeks solace in the nearby woods. With his only "friends" being a group of female bullies, he keeps to himself most of the time. After a strange encounter with an inhuman monster, Lucas begins to withdraw from others. The two reach a tentative trust and the boy is swept up in a series of primal adventures. A bizarre friendship is born. When violence and carnage begin to follow the witch, Lucas must try and stop his new friend from killing again, but is it her he really needs to stop? Meanwhile, Anna, an outsider in their small town, becomes romantically involved with Tom and grows increasingly concerned about the welfare of Tom's little brother. Plus, Sheriff John Thurston, has a history with Tom and Lucas' deceased mother and feels a responsibility to look out for the well-being of her orphaned children. Essentially, the witch is the young boy's own manifestation from being abused by his older brother. Additionally, Jeremiah made the notion that there will be a sequel to this movie possibly after his new and upcoming project. This was a great interview and I learned a lot from what Jeremiah said and I will absorb and cherish this discussion. Mr. Kipp is a very talented director with a very impressive resume' - anyone who does not take his advice would be a fool. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/southjerseyhorror/message

ARI ROSSEN is an actor, award-winning filmmaker and musician with roots in Detroit and the SF South Bay. After several years in New York, I just moved back to my home state of California and am excited to expand my creative community here. https://www.instagram.com/instarossen/ Ari co-produced and played Beelzebub in the film noir LOST + FOUND, written by Laura Sweeney and directed by Jeremiah Kipp. LOST + FOUND secured distribution with PBS and IFTNetwork and has screened at Garden State Film Festival, NYWIFT and other great festivals. His queer dark comedy series BEHIND THE CEREAL is all about the rise, fall and occasional redemption of America's breakfast cereal mascots (Colonel Munch, Fortune The Fairy, Count Cacao and more). BEHIND THE CEREAL was selected for FilmShop's 2021 Breakthrough Pitchfest, which included panelists from WarnerMedia and indie crowdfunding platform Seed & Spark. Ari is also playing himself in the upcoming narrative documentary feature ALL THE LONELY PEOPLE from Emmy Award-winning production company The Clowder Group. This timely film explores the epidemic of loneliness faced by a handful of global citizens, and how they are seeking solutions toward authentic social connection. During what he half-jokingly calls “The Covid Era,” Ari has channeling his own social isolation with music videos and ridiculous covers, including “Vaccine” (Dir. Laura Sweeney, a queer homage to Dolly Parton's iconic “Jolene”) and “Significant Otter,” an original song about a sea otter seeking love in an ocean of possibilities. Ari holds a BS in Theatre and Musical Theatre Concentration from Northwestern University. When not creating, Ari enjoys the great outdoors and attempts to provide an adequate kingdom for his feline overlord, Batman. He's a proud member of FilmShop, SAG-AFTRA and AEA. You can find him on the socials, though he admittedly has a complicated relationship with all of it —don't we all? --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bravemaker/message Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/bravemaker/support

The set of horror movie can be exactly that.....a horror show and not in a good way. But don't tell that to filmmaker Jeremiah Kipp and efx makeup artist Tony O'Brien. They love their jobs and they bring that passion and joy to a film set. Fresh off production of their feature film "Slapface", I chat with both about their love of all things gory, scary, fantastical in cinema and their collaboration in bringing monstrous characters to life.

SIX! SIX! SIX! THE NATURE OF THE BEAST! Yeah, we're back, and this time.. it's personal. Fueled by Eric Roberts following us on Twitter (and our inevitably cease & desist letter), Episode 8 finds us in a contemplative mood as we discuss 1995's THE NATURE OF THE BEAST (along with its controversial director) and 2014 DOC HOLLIDAY'S REVENGE (aka STRANDED), which is only controversial for being absolutely terrible. We are joined by the luminescent Tonjia Atomic, who is really way too talented to be stuck talking about Eric Roberts movies for 90 minutes, yet here we are! This one is a little late, but it's worth the wait. And you don't want to miss what's coming next! As always, check out ERIC ROBERTS IS THE MAN on Twitter, or come chat ER (or anything else) on our Facebook group. To keep up on the latest Tonjia Atomic news, head over to http://www.tonjiaatomic.com/ which will lead you to a bunch of social media goodness. Make yourself happy by checking out her latest film PLAIN DEVIL over on Amazon. As always, The Roberts Report was JAM PACKED. Discussed were: The teaser trailer for the upcoming HP Lovecraft-inspired film BLACK WAKE directed by Jeremiah Kipp. The film features Tom Sizemore, Nana Gouvea and – of course – Eric Roberts. And it just finished production! We also discussed an upcoming ER appearance in the TV show THE PLAYER starring Wesley Snipes as a former intelligence officer working as a security expert in Las Vegas. HOW WONDERFUL. And we talked briefly about the Bill Duke-directed Nat Turner biopic NAT TURNER: STORY OF A PROPHET featuring Keith David, Blair Underwood, Mike Epps and ERIC ROBERTS. SIX! SIX! SIX! THE NATURE OF THE BEAST! Yeah, we’re back, and this time.. it’s personal. Fueled by Eric Roberts following us on Twitter (and our inevitably cease & desist letter), Episode 8 finds us in a contemplative mood as we discuss 1995’s THE NATURE OF THE BEAST (along with its controversial director) and 2014 DOC HOLLIDAY’S REVENGE (aka STRANDED), which is only controversial for being absolutely terrible. We are joined by the luminescent Tonjia Atomic, who is really way too talented to be stuck talking about Eric Roberts movies for 90 minutes, yet here we are! This one is a little late, but it’s worth the wait. And you don’t want to miss what’s coming next! Let’s hope the movie is better than this weird poster.
