Un morceau épique conclu par un clin d'œil au maître Hendrix…Gas ponctue la face A par une légère mais salvatrice accalmie rythmique, s'approchant davantage d'une ambiance nu-soul et ponctuée d'un refrain explosif où rap, rock et jazz s'entrechoquent, tendant à prouver comme le scande Days qu'en étant plus réalistes nos différences ne peuvent que s'estomper…Le titre Shawarma n'a rien à voir avec un sandwich grec, quoique…! La vie se déplie comme un menu, dans lequel tout n'est pas toujours à notre goût mais qui nous apprend à accepter les mélanges et combinaisons judicieuses et juteuses. En résulte un morceau à la touche orientale, presque ethio, un rythme qui colle parfaitement au flow hip-hop et au style Roforofo Jazz.The Big Hustle est un OVNI. Articulé autour d'une boucle de 20 mesures qui lui donne une énergie communicative, ponctué d'une ligne de basse rappelant le Colonial Mentality de Fela Kuti, ce titre sonne comme une autoroute pour danseurs breakbeat effrénés ; épique !From Here To Benin nous ramène un peu aux origines afro inspirées du groupe, tout en y injectant une légère dose de pop bien sentie. He has been making music since the mid 70s with Slapp Happy, Faust, Henry Cow, John Greaves, The Golden Palominos, John Zorn, Andy Partridge and others. His weekly comic strip, Leviathan, ran in the Independent on Sunday from 1991-98 and The Book of Leviathan was published in the UK and the US in 2000. A Mandarin translation was published in 2010. A French translation won le Prix de Révelation at Angoulême Festival in 2014. He taught Creative Writing at the University of Warwick for 15 years and was Senior Tutor in Visual Writing at the Royal College of Art, London from 2012 - 2015. Operation Pastorious was a Nazi plot to attack American economic targets – including critical infrastructure - during World War 2, as a means of disrupting and, ultimately, destroying the American war effort.This is a cracking tale from the past that exemplifies a concept that, Christian Hunt, the May Risktorian of the Month (link below to that episode), calls human risk. The German plan was solid with multiple layers of defense that had been carefully curated to succeed even when compromised. The one variable the Germans had not countenanced, or planned for, was the behavior of humans. Havrais-e-s, vous êtes gâté-e-s.Olivier Mellano : https://www.oliviermellano.com/Né à Paris en 1971, violoniste de formation, Olivier Mellano suit des études de musicologie à Rennes après lesquelles il collabore en tant que guitariste avec plus de 50 groupes et artistes français évoluant entre rock, pop, hip-hop, électro et chanson (Laetitia Shériff, Psykick Lyrikah, Bed, Dominique A…).Il compose régulièrement pour le théâtre (Stanislas Nordey, David Gauchard), le cinéma, les ciné-concerts, la radio, la danse ou la littérature. Parallèlement à son travail d’écriture, il développe activement l’improvisation en solo, en duo (François Jeanneau, John Greaves, Noël Akchoté, Boris Charmatz…) ainsi qu’avec des comédiens et des écrivains (André Markowicz, Claro, Nathalie Richard, Pacôme Thiellement…).Enclin aux rencontres par-delà les frontières géographies ou esthétiques, Olivier Mellano est également curateur de ses projets collectifs L’Île électrique ou La Superfolia Armaada pour lesquels il rassemble les artistes les plus aventureux pour des créations éphémères dans de nombreux festivals.En 2006, il publie chez Naïve « La Chair des Anges », un album comprenant ses pièces pour clavecins et orgue, octuor de guitares électriques, quatuor à cordes ou encore pour la voix, à mi-chemin de la musique baroque et contemporaine, interprétées par le Quatuor Debussy, Olivier Vernet, Valérie Gabail, Bertrand Cuiller, Frédéric Rivoal et Les Voix Imaginaires et données à la Basilique Saint-Denis ou à l’église Saint-Eustache.En 2012, il publie l’album « How we tried a new combination of notes to show the invisible », triptyque symphonique, électrique et électronique, commandé par l’Orchestre Symphonique de Bretagne et présenté à l’Opéra de Rennes lors des Transmusicales.En 2008 paraît son premier livre un recueil de pièces musicales imaginaires: «La Funghimiracolette» aux Éditions MF. Il travaille actuellement à son second roman.Après No Land sa pièce pour Bagad et voix interprétée par Brendan Perry de Dead Can Dance, il monte le projet BAUM autour des Mélodies de Gabriel Fauré. Il ne quitte pas pour autant le monde du rock sonique et sort en 2018 le deuxième album de son projet solo pop-noise MellaNoisEscape.
