Welcome back to Las Platicas, a show hosted by Comadres y Comics, where we meet with creators and friends to talk about upcoming projects, events and all around awesome news in the comic community. Today, we welcome back Madeleine Holly-Rosing, award-winning writer and creator of the Boston Metaphysical Society, and now the mind behind a powerful new 4-issue mini-series: Morgana Pendragon — currently crowdfunding on Kickstarter. We are excited to dive into a story that reclaims one of mythology's most misunderstood women. In Morgana Pendragon, Madeleine isn't just telling an Arthurian tale — she's rewriting how we see power, age, and womanhood. As Madeleine puts it: ‘When you get to a certain age, especially as a woman, you find you are less and less represented in stories unless you're the mom, the grandmother, the feisty aunt, or something even more banal—the wicked witch. Morgana Pendragon is my response.' Get ready to explore how Madeleine is turning old tropes into new power in Morgana Pendragon #1. Welcome back, Madeleine@mcholly1

It is time to soar into the Thirty Fourth episode of the Kink Kloset!Charging into the Kink Kloset riding on the Welsh Dragon is none other than Pendragon Nic! Pendragon Nic grew up in Wales and had his earliest memories of leather from the satchel given to him as a gift where the smell of it permeated throughout his room feeding his curiosity. Leaving Wales as an early adult, Nic ventured down under to Australia where he started a family. It was for many years Nic focused on his family and any development of his kink journey was left just in thought, not to be acted on. One day, Nic finally gave himself the freedom to explore kink and started to embrace what was bubbling deep inside. Since embarking on his kink journey, Nic has become a staple within the Australian kink and fetish community, especially being an active participant at Sydney events. In 2023, Nic felt it was time to step within the community and was successful in becoming the 2023 Pride of The Hide and has took the title in his stride.Pendragon Nic's kink journey has not always been smooth sailing. Unfortunately Nic has been through tough experiences which he wishes no other kinksters to go through (TW: abuse). To his strength, Nic has shown outstanding resilience by channeling his community work into charities and community programs to help combat abuse and help with sex education. Beyond his community work, Nic has been one of the most visible titleholders of his cohort, with one of the highest event attendance and ability to show visibility in alternative kink events which has fostered greater collaboration within the community. Nic has been a fantastic advocate for The Hide as the 2023 Pride of The Hide, and looks forward to representing The Hide on the international stage this coming May in Chicago for the 47th International Mr Leather competition.
Mark Richards (1953–) is a convicted murderer serving life without parole in California State Prison, SolanoWikipedia's W.svg at Vacaville, California.[1] He prefers to be known as "Captain" Richards, although he never served in the military. After graduating from high school in 1971, he attended the College of Marin and then graduated from Dominican College in San Rafael in 1976. He has spun multiple bizarre yarns about his service in the so-called "Secret Space Program" battling alien forces, in addition to his imaginary service in the US NavyInvestigation by a journalist from the Marin Independent Journal revealed a dimension to the murder that was literally incredible. The writer, Erik Ingram, reported that behind the Baldwin murder "may be a secret organization, called Pendragon, that appeared to be planning an armed takeover of Marin." Ingram reported that police detectives had retrieved from Richards' home maps, aerial photographs of Marin County, plans for a laser-gun, instructions for the construction of machine-guns, and "notebooks containing references to a new form of government." He wrote that behind the Baldwin murder "may be a secret organization, called Pendragon, that appeared to be planning an armed takeover of Marin."In the weeks that followed, a number of witnesses came forward with stories indicating that the Pendragon group in fact existed. Crossie Hoover told investigators that one of the inducements to the murder was Richards' promise to appoint him Duke of Angel's Island. It appears that Richards fantasized about converting Marin County into a version of King Arthur's Camelot, with himself as King. He allegedly promoted plans in meetings with his workers to take over Marin County by destroying the Golden Gate and Richmond-San Rafael bridges and placing a laser gun on top of Mount Tamalpais. Carl Shapiro, a San Anselmo attorney representing Richards, asserted that the documents found by the police were research materials for a science-fiction book (Imperial Marin) that Richards was writing. The prosecution countered that regardless of Richards's writing, he used the Pendragon material to manipulate Hoover into committing the murder.Starting in November 2013, Richards became a major source for conspiracy theorist Kerry Cassidy. On that date Cassidy conducted a 1h 18m video interview[2] at the prison in Vacaville. Cassidy regards Richards as an important whistleblower exposing the "Secret Space Program." She has said that he was framed for the Baldwin murder, and that he is imprisoned by the Illuminati-Draco run planetary government.[3][note 1] At the time of writing Cassidy says she has conducted nine interviews with Richards, for an aggregate time over 14 hours. Since recording devices are not allowed in the prison, the normal format of these videos is Cassidy speaking to camera recalling what was said immediately after her meeting with the convict. Her tenth Interview with Richards was released in March, 2019.Much of the material consists of tales of personal heroism, as Richards commands exotic space battleships fighting and defeating aliens. He commanded an Orion battleship at the asteroid Vesta in August 1979. Soon after that, he led an attack against aliens to reclaim a secret base at Dulce, New Mexico. The aliens had violated a treaty and abducted humans for experimentation.[4]Richards claims that he was on active duty at the age of 13, with a high security clearance. After graduating from high school, Richards said he became an Army officer flying helicopters in Vietnam and later became a Navy Captain. He also claims to be a Rhodes Scholar with several advanced degrees and to be a member at the highest levels of the Republican National Committee. Neither Cassidy or Richards have provided documentation to support his claims.[5]Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-opperman-report--1198501/support.
Confession: for a long time I never understood why Tolkien had to make up a language to go with The Lord of the Rings. It felt a little bit like trying to tell an adventure story while getting bogged down in the details of imaginary corn law. But when the Daily Wire asked me to invent a new language for the Pendragon series, I instantly understood Tolkien in a whole new way. So when a listener asked me to comment on the idea that world building essentially is language building, I was all in. Here's what I learned from my first time language building, or "conlanging." We're back! This episode was recorded an entire month ago and here it is! Today I'm joined by David Larkins, line editor of Pendragon by Chasoium Games. We talk Pendragon and murder hobos of course, but we also talk about game design, context, marketing, and our favorite topic: CAPITALISM! This is a great conversation with lots of awesome details. I hope you have as much fun listening to it, as I did rediscovering this material a month later!
Listen in this month as we chat with Edjer Pendragon about how he sees the culture & identity of Dominant males in the Kink scene. Saul and Jolene were talking about long campaigns. The discussion lead to games were character played gernerations of a character. I was thinking how many generations one could play and what RPGs make it part of their system or setting. The first game that came to mind was Pendragon. A friend of mine ran the Great Pendragon Campaign for some fellow gamers. That GM runs games where "Death is On the Table" according to him. Which to me means he is a no holds barred GM and if the dice goes against the players he does not pull any punches. He even posted the games online. I also talked to a player in that game that was on his 5th character due to his very heroic play style. Jolene asked if D&D could be a generational game and I thought well I am sure it could be. Other games had rules to play generations of a character. Some games neither Saul or Jolene had ever heard of them but sounded interesting. Thus this episode was born.

In this episode, Edwin and Lou talk about solving the problem of gaming at small cons, whether "tangents" hurt or help RPG module writing, the 1000th episode of Skype of Cthulhu (listen here), and how useful the program/podcast "The Why Files?" could be to creating modern RPG adventure content..oh yeah, we also talk about this episode's feature, "Beast Quest" for the Pendragon RPG system (1st edition). As you would expect for Pendragon, "Beast Quest" offers an interesting mix of true Dark Age narrative structure and a hint of whimsy. Check it out! And in case you're wondering we did release Bill from solitary confinement into the charge of his wife. Hopefully he has learned his lesson and will be with us on the next episode. Don't forget to send us some emails, messages, or whatever -there's always a chance to win some great gaming material just for telling us about what you're doing in the hobby, asking us a questions, or correcting us on misspoken facts! Cheers!
This week on MYTH, we're traveling back to ye olde London for the strange birth of the legendary King Arthur. You'll see that destiny can be written across the sky, that even a half-dead king is better than nothing, and that it's easy to abuse magic. Then, in Gods and Monsters, we'll seek help for an endless swarm of rats. Source: Arthurian Legend
Howdy Pard'ners! Have we got a treat for you! With us for this one-shot episode is an awesome new adventure writer, Matt De Micco talking about his experiences gaming, growing up with true-in-the-saddle cowboys out on the Arizona trails and how all that worked its way into his adventure and campaign setting "Massacre Grounds" -currently live on Kickstarter (Kickstarter Link). You can even see this 0-level funnel play out on Youtube with the crew from Steam Steal and Murder here: Live Play of Massacre Grounds. Matt was a lot of fun to talk to, and just blew my mind with some of the cool ways he has integrated real history and history-based fiction into his adventure! We'll be back mid-way through the month with a regular episode (covering Pendragon!). Until then, please give this adventure a look-see, if you like weird west, it seems like it is going to be a blast!

Conor, Def, and Joe jostle jovially about their latest gaming escapades. First up, Joe regales us with his rendezvous in the realm of Rebirth, Reiner Knizia's latest offering which is still taking late pledges on Kickstarter. Def delves into the daring deeds of Pendragon, brace yourselves for battles, betrayals, and bountiful banter as he recounts his quest for the coveted crown, and Conor casts his comedic contortions on Mythic Mischief, a game that is very chess like, or is it cheff like? So, settle in, my merry gamers, and let the playful puns flow freely! It's sure to be another rollicking romp through the realm of tabletop tomfoolery.
