The mantra of the Highland Rugby team has always been Kia Kaha.  This translates to "be strong," or as coach Larry Gelwix challenges his players, "be forever strong."

Larry Gelwix served as the volunteer Head Coach of the Highland Rugby team for 36 years. No one in the US has ever had a better win loss record than Larry Gelwix. Over 36 years of coaching the Highland Rugby Team he lost...10 games. Oh, and he won 20 national championships.  The subject and inspiration of the movie “Forever Strong” coach Gelwix developed many championship players and teams throughout his career.  Since retiring from coaching Larry has continued to run his business, Columbus Travel while hosting a weekly syndicated radio show.
