This podcast episode explores the connection between personal presentation and the success of a business, drawing on relatable anecdotes and real-life examples. The discussion stems from an amusing incident involving a coffee lid, which serves as a metaphor for the inexplicable challenges we face when we are too close to a situation to see its obvious resolution. The underlying message here is clear: businesses often become fixated on intricate problems while ignoring straightforward solutions that may be staring them right in the face.Throughout the conversation, the hosts emphasize that just as two grown men struggled to put a lid on a coffee mug, professionals often fail to recognize simple issues that compromise their effectiveness and credibility. As we continue our exploration, it becomes apparent that examining one's professional image is crucial across various industries. Businesses from hospitality to healthcare must maintain a favorable impression. For instance, how can a plastic surgeon expect clients to trust them if they themselves do not embody the care and precision they promise? There is significant power in aligning personal and professional credibility. The episode also dives into the world of orthodontics, spotlighting the irony of orthodontists potentially having crooked teeth. This paradox highlights how perception can greatly influence decision-making and sales. If patients see that their provider has not addressed their own dental issues, they might question the quality of care they would receive, thereby impacting the provider's credibility and business success. The episode further discusses a major rebranding announcement, shifting from the New Patient Group to The Brian Wright Show. The rebranding aims to appeal to a broader audience, demonstrating the need for businesses to adapt and innovate continually. The hosts clarify that this transformation does not signify a departure from their core values but rather an expansion of their reach to serve various entrepreneurial sectors. This podcast episode serves as a powerful reminder to all business owners: Sometimes, the most straightforward solutions can have the most staggering impacts. The episode urges listeners to take a step back, assess their professional image, and reflect on how it influences customer perceptions and sales. The need for clarity in communication and self-presentation is paramount, as these elements can either hinder or enhance business growth. As we conclude our discussion, listeners are encouraged to embrace change and actively look for improvements, thereby ensuring they remain competitive in an ever-evolving market. Why Us? https://newpatientgroup.com/According to Dental Economics, conversion in Dentistry has dipped to 32%. That same study done in Orthodontics shows a dip into the high 40% for conversion. Conversion for all other specialties has crashed as well. Facts are the consumer has changed and is always changing. This course targets those changes and teaches you advanced skill-sets that will grow your practice and save you t

From its potential applications in administrative tasks and clinical settings to concerns about accuracy and overreliance, we tackled the evolving role of AI in the dental field for 2023 and beyond. Compacts between states for dental licenses: We're facing challenges with dental professionals obtaining licenses in different states and the impact on competency and efficiency. The concept of compacts is significant as it highlights the need for agreement on education standards and scope of practice across states. This issue of differing standards and practices has implications for the mobility and professional development of dental practitioners. And yes, we go into what a compact actually means! Evolving landscape of industry events:  Declining attendance at dental conferences introduces financial strain to vendors. It's actually helped the rise of online CE platforms. Long in the Tooth: Insights for Age 55+ Dentists

Transitioning from being an owner to being an employee is a huge shift financially and psychologically that many practice owners aren't equipped to face. We've addressed some of the psychological effects in other episodes, so today, we are focusing on the financial changes you can expect, especially if you sell to a DSO.The culture, compensation, tax write-offs, patient insurance plans, and more are all formed by the person who is in control. They decide what to buy and what to spend, what not to buy and what not to spend. As the seller, that is no longer you. That can be a tough pill to swallow if the new owner doesn't share the same values as you (and yes, there are some unfortunate horror stories).Earl M. Douglas, DDS, MBA, BVAL joins us again to address what sellers can expect after selling to a DSO. Dr. Douglas began his transition career in 1982 after selling his own dental practice. The price DSOs are willing to pay for a dental practice can look really, really enticing. On this episode of the Raving Patients Podcast, Len sits down with Ben Tuinei to discuss how insurance participation may, or may not, impact your marketing strategy.   According to our data, the vast majority of dentists in the U.S. participate with more than 3 PPO plans. Many dentists believe that insurance participation is a necessary part of practicing dentistry. He believes that if you are going to participate with insurance you must do so in a way that is on your terms. Negotiating fees and contracts is something that has been somewhat of a secret or a foreign concept in dentistry until 10 years ago when the concept of negotiating with insurance started to become more well known.    Takeaways from this episode include: PPO Participation and new patients or active patients. Is there a correlation? Do you lose new patient opportunities by being out of network (non-participating) with insurance plans? While we are on the topic of PPO (insurance) participation, are insurance companies still negotiating fees?   Mr. Tuinei began his dental career in 2007 while working for 10 location group practice in Phoenix Arizona managing all insurance related functions.  During his first few months, he created systems and operating protocols and restructured a 12 person billing department that improved collections from a  low 65% to 98%.  At the same time, Mr. Tuinei learned how to effectively negotiate with 3rd party payors that gave a boost in annual insurance related revenue of nearly 1 million dollars for a team of only 10 general dentists. Mr. Tuinei's early experience in negotiating with 3rd party payors caught the attention of other large group practices and hundreds of solo dental practitioners in Arizona, Utah, Nevada, Idaho and Colorado.  Consequently, he unintentionally discovered an under-served section of the dental industry: 3rd party payor negotiating (aka insurance fee negotiating).  Mr Tuinei opened Optimum Dental Solutions in September 2009 and rebranded to Veritas Dental Resources in 2015.   To-date, Mr Tuinei has worked with over 6700 dentists influencing over 3 billion dollars of newly negotiated revenue for his clients. Mr Tuinei currently serves as the President of Veritas Dental Solutions and is a key advisor to various State Dental Associations, CPA firms, and coaching/consulting firms in dentistry.    Mr. Tuinei is going on his 22nd year as a professional public speaker. He currently serves as the President of Veritas Dental Resources and sits on the Board of Directors for The Dental Business School, Business Ownership Mentoring of America, The Dental Leadership Academy, and a co-host on The Navigating Dental Insurance Podcast.  Mr. Tuinei has been recognized by several state Dental Associations and various dental study clubs as “The Authority” on PPO strategies and PPO fee Negotiating.  His articles are frequently published in the Dental Economics and Aesthetic Dentistry magazines.
