John England, an Education Policy Analyst from the Libertas Institute, joins me again to discuss A.I. in education. While there are concerns about students' reliance on A.I. like ChatGPT for homework, we discuss how A.I. does not necessarily degrade education and can be used effectively for idea generation and refining writing projects. John also mentions useful A.I. tools like Khan Academy's Conmigo, an A.I. chatbot for teaching math. They further highlight the need for critical thinking in using A.I., especially with A.I. possibly providing information that may be 80% correct. Furthermore, they discuss how A.I. could potentially alleviate issues with overcrowded classrooms by serving as a personalized tutor. In 2019 Jeremy created the Gold product known as the Goldback. This exhibited Gold in spendable quantities for the first time. Using a patented production process, Jeremy effectively set up a novel product in one of the oldest industries known to man. After being recognized as a local currency in Utah, many states began vying for their own Goldback series. Currently, there are 4 state series and over 8 Million Goldbacks in circulation. With nothing but a dream, Jeremy created a company from an initial investment of $40,000 to one of the most bullish corporations in the United States. The Goldback project is the answer to the many problems presented by the Modern American Economy, such as: – A rampant distrust of the existing monetary system – The endless printing of currency devaluing the US dollar – The lack of a consistent store of value for finances – The unusability of precious metals as spendable currencies The Goldback is on the rise and offers viable solutions to real-world problems. Prior to Goldback, Jeremy always had an interest in precious metals. On a whim, he quit a high-paying job to become one of the first full-time employees of the UPMA (Utah Precious Metals Association). He was able to help grow the organization from 400 members to over 25,000. This enabled him to negotiate himself into his first management position. From there he was able to begin work on his first business, Quintric. This was a gold-backed crypto project where he served on the board of directors. Ultimately this sparked the idea of a gold-backed currency. Quintric did not take off as hoped and after Jeremy's exit, he quickly started work on the Goldback Inc. Host Jeremy to have intellectual and practical conversations about Gold, Entrepreneurship, Finance, and More! From Jeremy: The precious metals space is fairly small so I didn't envision myself being able to find a job in it. However, I met Larry Hilton at an event at the Capitol in Salt Lake City while interning with the Libertas Institute. He had a small side business serving the United Precious Metals Association with gold and silver accounts. About a year later I wrote a blog about his business that ended up being read by over a quarter million people on Zerohedge.com. The article resulted in an explosion of interest in the United Precious Metals Association (UPMA) and I used that as leverage to successfully get a job with Larry. He agreed to start me out full-time for $10 an hour which was a steep pay cut. I don't remember how I sold my wife on this but as a result, I ended up working in the space that interested me the most. What I found out is that following passion creates opportunity! On this week's episode Paul discusses an innovative approach to regulation that comes to us from Utah that has been embraced by red and blue states alike. Paul discusses the issue with Rees Empey, Director of State Govt. Affairs at the Utah-based Libertas Institute and Brian Knight is the Director of the Program on Financial Regulation at the Mercatus Center based in the DC area. The "Sandbox" issue has bipartisan support in the New Mexico Legislature having been introduced by Democrats in the 2023 session.

On this edition of The Brian Nichols Show, host Brian Nichols has an in-depth discussion with Connor Boyack from the Libertas Institute about "true conspiracies" - theories that were once dismissed but later proven to be fact. They delve into a number of historical examples, including Project MK Ultra, Operation Northwoods, the Tuskegee Experiments, and more. Boyack provides fascinating details on these "true conspiracies," explaining how the government and other entities have deceived the public throughout history to advance certain agendas. He makes the case that we should be more skeptical when presented with narratives from official sources, given this track record of lies and manipulation. This week I had the privilege of hosting Connor Boyack, author of The Tuttle Twins books and President of Libertas Institute; an award winning, free-market think tank and educational organization responsible for changing over 100 laws across a wide range of issues. Connor and I discuss what gave him the idea to create The Tuttle Twins book series and why he calls public school, the "public fool system." We talk about why Connor and his wife decided from the beginning that they would be homeschooling their children and what paths they have taken along the way, such as attending Acton Academy. Connor explains his thoughts on college and if it is really necessary- and when. He also tells us why homeschooling alone is just not enough and what we as parents need to know to intentionally guide our children through this mind war. The precious metals space is fairly small, so Jeremy didn't envision himself being able to find a job in it. He did meet Larry Hilton at an event at the Capitol in Salt Lake City while interning with the Libertas Institute. He had a small side business serving the United Precious Metals Association with gold and silver accounts. About a year later he wrote a blog about his business that ended up being read by over a quarter million people on Zerohedge.com. The article resulted in an explosion of interest in the United Precious Metals Association (UPMA) and he used that as leverage to successfully get a job with Larry. As the first full-time employee he was able to help grow UPMA from being an organization with 400 members to one with 25,000The Goldback project to him feels like a possible answer to Mike Maloney's problem that he presents in his series. Now most of his attention is focused on the Goldback as the CEO. In this episode, Brad and Jeremy share their opinions about the economy, the worth of the US dollar, and ways to protect your wealth. Do you know about the Tuttle Twins? If not, what resources are you using to help your kids develop critical thinking skills about real-world concepts? In today's episode, Scott Donnell and Connor Boyack discuss ways parents can explain economics, money subjects, and political principles to kids of all ages. Connor Boyack is the founder and president of Libertas Institute, a free market think tank in Utah. He is best known for The Tuttle Twins books, a children's series introducing young readers to economic, political, and civic principles. Scott and Connor start the conversation by talking about the Tuttle Twins Series and how it is impacting kids worldwide. If you want to teach your kids anything, you must find a way to make it engaging; otherwise, it won't stick. Scott explains what most parents don't realize about raising kids - anything you teach them today is a seed planted for their future success. Connor reveals the things parents should focus on if they want to raise super successful kids. Connor breaks down a survey where more than 50,000 parents were asked about the school system and why they send their kids to school. From the survey, the researchers found that parents primarily wanted their kids to learn practical skills and critical thinking, which are, unfortunately, not emphasized enough in today's curriculum. Connor and Scott agree that parents will get greater results if they learn financial literacy alongside their kids. Scott highlights the two main reasons parents avoid talking about money to their kids. According to Connor, learning doesn't have to be inside a classroom to be effective. Your kids can learn just as much at the dinner table. For Scott, life is your playground as a parent; you can make everything an incredible lesson for your kids. Connor does not believe we can pass some law and fix the issue of financial illiteracy. If we're going to save the future generation, it has to start at the dinner table. The best messages in the world are so easy that a 5-year-old can understand them. Scott reveals that kids learn by having fun and through real-world experience. The fun makes it motivating and the real-world experience gives them capability and confidence to succeed. Deregulating zoning and occupancy laws is crucial to support the growth of micro-schools, providing diverse educational options for students. But few know what steps to take or who to talk to. This week on the podcast, Jon England of Libertas Institute shares how changing policies can help create new learning opportunities for students who don't thrive in the traditional education system. Jon highlights the limitations of the public education system and emphasizes empowering parents and teachers to explore innovative approaches in education. And we discuss the risks entrepreneurs face in challenging traditional norms and building alternative models to create a system that caters to individual student needs. This thought-provoking conversation with Jon England calls for educational transformation through innovation, individualized learning, and policy change. Together, let's create an education system that empowers students, supports teachers, and nurtures the unique potential within each child. About Jon England: Jon is the Education Policy Analyst at Libertas Institute. He is a fourteen-year veteran of public schools. He taught both fifth and sixth grades, receiving Weber District's E+ Team Award. He proudly homeschools and micro schools his children with his wife. Jon received his bachelor's degree in elementary education from the University of Utah and a master's degree in educational leadership from Western Governors University. He spent time in the Marine Corps and separated as a sergeant in 2006. During his time in public schools, Jon increasingly understood the importance of parental empowerment in education. This increased understanding led him to join Libertas to provide educational freedom for families. Jon enjoys spending time with his wife and five children traveling, skiing, and playing games. Connor Boyack is the president of Libertas Institute and author of the massively popular Tuttle Twins children's books, which have taught millions of kids the ideas of a free society. Top 3 Value Bombs: 1. Intentionality is what matters. Don't assume your kids are going to follow in your footsteps. 2. You would think that kids these days are getting exposed to the entrepreneurial mindset, abundance, hard work, personal responsibility... But the narrative and the actual teachings in school and on social media are quite the opposite. 3. The type of people who end up as teachers in schools typically don't have an entrepreneurial mindset. They have a very bureaucratic, rule-following type of mindset, which is often in significant conflict with thinking entrepreneurially. Teaching Kids Critical Thinking. Today's guest fights for our children—our nation's future—as the president of the Libertas Institute. He's authored more than 4 books, including the popular Tuttle Twins children's series. Are you tired of feeling like you have no control over your child's education? Have you ever wanted to take a more active role in what your child learns, but felt like you didn't have the resources to do so? Well, you're not alone. Many parents have felt the same way, and that's why on this episode of The Brian Nichols Show, Brian sat down with Jon England, an education policy worker at the Libertas Institute, to discuss how to give parents more control when it comes to the public education system. Jon England knows a thing or two about education. He was a teacher and principal in the public school system for 14 years before shifting his focus to empowering parents. During their conversation, Jon explained how the COVID pandemic revealed the amount of coursework children were doing, and how it gave parents a chance to see what their children were learning (or not learning). This realization has caused parents to become more involved in their child's education, and Jon encourages parents to take advantage of the resources available to them. One of those resources is the Utah Fits All Scholarship, which Jon discussed on the show. This scholarship allows parents to choose how their child is educated by giving them state funding that can be used for private school tuition, tutors, micro schools, curriculum at home, and other expenses. This gives parents the power to be the consumer rather than just a passive receiver of education. Brian even reflected on his own experience, where his mother took him to kindergarten orientation, and how it emphasized the importance of parents having more control over their child's education. Parents have also discovered that homeschooling can be more beneficial for their children, as it takes less time and allows them to build stronger relationships with their kids. The pandemic has forced parents to become more involved in their children's education, as they discover the benefits of homeschooling and the issues present in public schools. In Utah, parents have even fought against mask mandates when returning to school due to the pandemic, which has caused them to delve further into what is happening in the school system. So, if you're a parent who wants more control over your child's education, then this is the episode for you. Jon England and Brian Nichols discuss the resources available to parents, the benefits of homeschooling, and how the pandemic has forced parents to become more involved in their children's education. It's time for parents to take an active role in their child's education and give them the best chance for success. Don't miss this episode of The Brian Nichols Show. Learn more about your ad choices. If so, you won't want to miss the latest episode of The Brian Nichols Show. Join Brian Nichols as he talks with Connor Boyack, the head of the Libertas Institute, a non-profit organization that advocates for laws to increase freedom. In this episode, they delve into the government's ability to use geofence warrants to track individuals and their phones, and the technology behind these warrants that allows the government to collect and store data about the location of devices for years. But that's not all. Connor shares a disturbing story about his friend Scott, who was interrogated by the FBI without an attorney present simply because he was near the Capitol on J6. This episode will leave you thinking about the government's use of private information and how it affects our individual freedoms.
