THE BETTER BELLY PODCAST - Gut Health Transformation Strategies for a Better Belly, Brain, and Body
Have you been diagnosed with restless leg syndrome - but the iron pills or medications you've been given for it aren't giving you any relief? Do you struggle with chronic fatigue, and you've been told it's from restless leg syndrome, but nothing you try makes you feel more rested? If you've ever spent nights Googling “restless leg syndrome treatment” or “restless leg syndrome causes,” you know how frustrating RLS is. When I was diagnosed with restless leg syndrome in middle school, I felt the same confusion and frustration about my RLS. I was told it was because I had low iron. I took the supplement, and it maybe helped a little...but I still felt exhausted throughout the day. It wasn't until I became a functional health practitioner that I figured out what was causing my restless leg syndrome - and how to treat restless leg syndrome for myself in a way that actually WORKED. Now - I've found COMPLETE restless leg syndrome relief (which my husband is so grateful for!). And today, I'm going to teach you how you can do the same. In today's episode, we're diving into the real root causes of Restless Leg Syndrome — the ones most doctors never mention. You'll learn how restless leg syndrome connects to your brain, iron levels, airway health, and even your gut health — and what steps you can take to finally find restless leg syndrome relief naturally. Restless leg syndrome isn't random, and you're not stuck with it for forever. It's time to teach you the root cause of restless leg syndrome so that your legs - and your sleep - can finally find some peace. Forever Young Radio Show with America's Natural Doctor Podcast
Cavities are still one of America's most common diseases – despite decades of fluoride use. Xlear is calling on the FDA to recognize xylitol as an active anticaries ingredient so dental professionals and patients can finally access this powerful tool. Xylitol, a safe and natural compound, has been proven to stop cavity- causing bacteria and dramatically reduce tooth decay. The American Dental Hygienist Association (ADHA) in conjunction with Xlear, a leader in hygiene products, filed a citizen petition with the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA) urging the FDA to formally recognize xylitol as an approved Over-the-Counter (OTC) active ingredient in dental hygiene products, including toothpaste, rinses, gels, mouthwashes, gums, and lozenges.Xylitol addresses the root cause of tooth decay. In contrast, fluoride strengthens tooth enamel. Fluoride has almost no effect on the bacteria that causes tooth decay. Studies have shown that xylitol has a higher “protection factor” in fighting cavities than fluoride.“Dental decay is the single most common communicable, chronic disease inflicting Americans today. Moreover, dental decay is also closely associated with driving other serious health risks - ranging from heart disease to diabetes,” said Trisha O'Hehir, MS, RDH.Key Facts:· Nearly 90% of U.S. adults have experienced tooth decay.· Studies show xylitol can reduce cavities by up to 80%.· Xylitol works by neutralizing acid-producing bacteria and protecting enamel at the source.· Xylitol is safe if swallowed, a key benefit for children.· Widely used internationally, xylitol is already found in gum and oral hygiene products. The petition requests that FDA: Amend 21 C.F.R. Part 355 to list xylitol as an approved anti-caries active ingredient. Alternatively, issue a new OTC monograph under Section 505G of the FDCA.Learn more about the Petition hereXlear is one of the nation's leaders in effective xylitol hygiene products, available inpharmacies, big box stores, natural retailers and online.XLEAR's Retailers: Walgreens, CVS, Vitamin Shoppe, Target, Kroger, Sprouts, Natural Grocers and most natural products retailers nationwide.XLEAR's Online Retailers: Amazon, iHerb, Lucky Vitamin, and Vitacost.comLearn more at Xlear.com or SprySmile.com

We're not just talking about sitting up straight or adjusting your stool—we're talking about the equipment you use day in and day out, and how the wrong tools, especially your ultrasonic scaler, can take a toll on your body, your comfort, and even the length of your career. Joining me is Caitlin Parsons, RDH, a dental hygienist with over 15 years of clinical experience. Caitlin will tell us why it's so important to have that conversation with your boss about updating older, non-ergonomic equipment. From ultrasonic scalers with ergonomic handles and adjustable frequencies, to small operatory tweaks that make a huge difference. Caitlin is here to show us how smart choices in ergonomics can mean less pain, more happiness, and longer, healthier careers in dentistry.
The shocking discovery of blood-stained surgical tools at a Colorado hospital is a wake-up call for every dental practice. When sterilization falls behind, even briefly, safety can break down fast and dentistry faces the same risks, especially with short staffing, rushed schedules, and inconsistent infection control habits. In this episode, Kevin Henry and infection control expert Mary Govoni, CDA, RDH, discuss how incidents like this happen and why dental teams must stay alert. They talk through common failures in instrument processing, gaps in PPE use, and how post-pandemic complacency has led to rising safety concerns in many practices. Mary explains the importance of proper onboarding, reliable training, and strong infection control routines especially as respiratory illnesses surge and demands on clinical teams increase. She also addresses often-missed issues such as waterline testing and how dental assistants can identify red flags and advocate for safer practices. Rachael Zustin was destined to have the RDH title behind her name- but that doesn't mean sacrifice and hard work weren't involved. With (literal) sweat and tears involved, she was successful in becoming a dental hygienist, facing several obstacles on the way. She is an inspiration and proof that if you set your mind to something, you CAN do it! Rachael struggled to get into dental hygiene school, and when she finally did, she faced intense grief at the start of her program. Still, she managed to find a stronger "why" and used passion to fuel her.
