It's Monday, October 3rd, A.D. 2022. This is The Worldview in 5 Minutes heard at www.TheWorldview.com. I'm Adam McManus. By Adam McManus. (Adam@TheWorldview.com) Shooting in Pakistan Christian settlement kills 1, injures 4 On the evening of August 8, William was sitting outside his home in a Christian settlement of 28 families in southwest Pakistan while children played nearby. Without warning, two masked men rode by and began shooting. William and four boys, ranging in age from 10 to 16, were critically injured in the shooting and taken to the nearest large hospital 15 miles away. Sadly, William later died from his injuries, reports Voice of the Martyrs. While there is significant Taliban violence in the region, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack in the 96% Muslim country. Hurricane Ian death toll rises to 70 With a death toll of 70, rescuers searched on Saturday for survivors among the Florida homes ruined by Hurricane Ian, reports the Miami Herald. Thus far, there have been 4,000 rescues. Florida's First Lady, Casey DeSantis, appeared on Fox & Friends and urged viewers to consider giving to the just-created Florida Disaster Fund which raised $12 million in just 24 hours. She explained what they are doing with the money. CASEY DeSANTIS: “We have 300 trucks in the affected areas, as we speak, and they are chock full of water, food, and supplies. We have two distribution points going out with the National Guard. So, people are getting the food and supplies that they need. We are working very quickly to ensure that they have that. “Going forward with this fund, what we really hope it's going to do is help people who have lost everything. They don't know where to turn. Perhaps insurance doesn't cover something for them. So, these funds could help repair roofs and just help them get back on their feet. Because we are going to be with the people in Florida for as long as it takes for them to get their lives back.” MacArthur to CA Gov. Newsom: Your soul "lies in grave, eternal peril" Pastor John MacArthur of Grace Community Church called upon Democratic California Governor Gavin Newsom to repent for his controversial re-election campaign that invoked Scripture in defense of abortion, reports The Christian Post. The September 29th open letter quotes the Bible numerous times in response to the campaign earlier this month, which MacArthur said “shamelessly” misquoted Mark 12:31 for Newsom's own political purposes. MacArthur wrote, “You revealed to the entire nation how thoroughly rebellious against God you are when you sponsored billboards across America promoting the slaughter of children, whom He creates in the womb (Psalm 139:13–16; Isaiah 45:9–12). In Isaiah 45:11, “This is what the Lord says— the Holy One of Israel, and its Maker: Concerning things to come, do you question Me about My children, or give Me orders about the work of My hands?” MacArthur added, “You further compounded the wickedness of that murderous campaign with a reprehensible act of gross blasphemy, quoting the very words of Jesus from Mark 12:31 as if you could somehow twist His meaning and arrogate His name in favor of butchering unborn infants.” According to MacArthur, Newsom “used the name and the words of Christ to promote the credo of Molech (Leviticus 20:1–5). It would be hard to imagine a greater sacrilege.” Stacey Abrams claims the heartbeat at 6 weeks is “manufactured” Listen to this demonstrably false claim by Democrat Stacey Abrams, a candidate for Georgia governor. ABRAMS: "There is no such thing as a heartbeat at six weeks. It is a manufactured sound designed to convince people that men have the right to take control of a woman's body." Laurie Higgins, Cultural Affairs Writer for the Illinois Family Institute, said, “One wonders if Abrams conferred with Planned Parenthood. Until recently Planned Parenthood's website said this about human fetal development at gestational weeks 5-6: ‘A very basic beating heart and circulatory system develop.' That was then. This is now: ‘A part of the embryo starts to show cardiac activity. It sounds like a heartbeat on an ultrasound, but it's not a fully-formed heart — it's the earliest stage of the heart developing.'” Higgins concludes, “Planned Parenthood sophists desperately hope Americans are as scientifically ignorant as Abrams pretends to be.” Pastor suspended from TikTok for saying ‘men can't have babies' Mark Driscoll, the outspoken Senior Pastor of Trinity Church in Scottsdale, Arizona, says he was briefly suspended from the popular short-form video hosting service TikTok for declaring on the platform that “men can't have babies,” reports The Christian Post. On Saturday, Driscoll tweeted, “What happens on TikTok when you say that men can't have babies” alongside an image of a notice on his suspended TikTok account stating that he was prevented from posting due to “multiple violations” of the hosting service's community guidelines. The suspension of the account ended last Thursday. In his reaction to the restriction by TikTok, Driscoll cited Romans 1:18 which says: “For the wrath of God is revealed from Heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.” Bros, all-homosexual romantic comedy, a flop And finally, Bros, an all-homosexual romantic comedy, is a big flop, reports ShowBiz411.com. The opening weekend's train wreck was especially revealing in light of an enviable amount of publicity and marketing from the politically correct media, including a full segment on ABC's The Bachelorette where the homosexual couple was oddly doling out dating advice to heterosexuals. In other words, the American public has no appetite for such sexual perversion, especially including graphic scenes in this R-rated movie. Focus on the Family's PluggedIn.com noted that “as the movie opens, we're treated to a flashback of Bobby, the lead character, talking with a movie executive who wants Bobby to write a homosexual romance for film, under the premise that homosexual and heterosexual relationships are essentially the same. Bobby rejects that notion—calling it a myth that the homosexuals created.” Not surprisingly, Bros includes 60 profane words and the Lord's name is taken in vain 23 times! PluggedIn.com's conclusion? “Bros is symptomatic of a broader issue: a culture increasingly unwilling to deny itself anything. … Bros understands, on some level, how shallow its fleeting hookups can be. But it refuses to reject them.” Close And that's The Worldview in 5 Minutes on this Monday, October 3rd, in the year of our Lord 2022. Laurie Higgins To be clear from the outset of this article, when I refer to the evil of “trans”-cultism, I am referring to its beliefs and practices—not to people suffering from gender dysphoria or confused by the cultural lies they encounter daily. Everyone is harmed by “trans”-cultic beliefs and practices—girls, women, boys, and men. Those in bondage to the cult and those outside of the cult are harmed. Adults in bondage to confusion and sexual fetishes are eradicating all sex-segregated private spaces; undermining First Amendment protections of assembly, speech, and religious free exercise; corrupting every cultural institution, including education, medicine, religion, sports, and the arts; putting girls and women at risk of assault by men who pretend to be “trans”; and sowing confusion among children, teens, and young adults. As with all forms of evil, the most vulnerable—those least able to protect themselves—suffer most. The “trans”-cult allied with a host of profiteers, including semi-celebrity butchers who self-identify as doctors, are experimenting on the bodies of children and young adults with ghastly, barbaric results. No one should avert their gaze from the evidence of this butchery. Read more... https://www.listennotes.com/e/b36f3acd67b64bd680c3f4a729793a0c/
Laurie Higgins Though not required by law, Illinois provides a program of benefits called Medicaid Presumptive Eligibility(MPE). MPE “offers immediate, temporary coverage for outpatient healthcare for pregnant women…. There are no co-payments or premiums in MPE.” MPE, which takes effect immediately and remains in effect for 30 days after the month in which it takes effect, provides “outpatient services like prenatal checkups, doctor visits, lab tests, prenatal vitamins, medicine, specialty medical care, eye care, dental care, emergency room care, mental health and substance abuse services, transportation to get medical care and other services.” The reason for the added emphasis will be clear momentarily, but first some troubling words about eligibility. In this fascinating interview, Laurie Higgins-Kerley shares the unique way she blends her love for horses and spirituality into a one-of-a-kind offering for individuals on the path of inner healing and expansion. She shares two significant personal experiences that caused her to ask “Who am I beyond this?” and “Where do I go from here?”, questions many of us can relate to when facing the perceived parameters and challenges of our respective lives. The initial questioning set her on a lifelong path of studying and certifying in multiple spiritual modalities including Shamanism, Medicine Wheel teachings and ceremonies, drumming circles, and Kundalini Yoga, all of which continues to deepen her understanding of who she is and allows her to facilitate workshops, retreats and coaching that aids others in their own journey of the soul. The loss of her husband in 2008 posed as one of the most challenging journeys of her soul. However, in a true “phoenix rising from the ashes” transformation, it led to both her most unique offering—the healing power of horses—and her next chapter—creating Dove Creek Equine Rescue, a non-profit focused on rescuing, rehabbing, retraining and rehoming horses. Laurie sees Dove Creek Equine Rescue as a beautiful circle of horses and humans giving back to one another, where this circle began with a few horses on the ranch left to her by her late husband offering her a powerful heart space to begin feeling moments of peace during the grieving process. Each time she left the ranch after spending time with the horses she felt the magnitude of their presence like a balm to her slowly healing soul. This initial handful of horses offering her healing in one of the most challenging chapters of her life has since led to the full-time rescue operation it is today, complete with volunteers showing up daily to care for and connect with the horses. The circle of healing between horses and humans continues in this organic fashion in all that she does through Dove Creek Equine Rescue and the workshops, retreats and coaching she offers through Led by Horses. Speaking of retreats, SoLive had the pleasure of attending a private weekend retreat at the ranch called “Phoenix Rising”, where Shanna and Tracey share a bit about their respective experiences while also leaving the mystery open for others to discover by booking a retreat of their own! (See contact info below.) Bio: Laurie Higgins-Kerley is the founder and Executive Director of the nonprofit organization, Dove Creek Equine Rescue. This organization provides a variety of programs, which focus on the healing partnership between horses and humans. As a certified coach through multiple platforms, Laurie has been facilitating workshops for more than 20 years. In addition to coaching with horses, her practices include Medicine Wheel teachings and ceremonies, drumming circles and yoga. Through her mastery of multiple modalities, Laurie has created a truly unique offerings at Dove Creek Equine Rescue resulting in one-of-a-kind experiences for those ready to live their best Life! On this edition of Spotlight, Laurie Higgins joins Jim Schneider, host of VCY America's CrossTalk program, for a lively discussion of the ubiquitous indoctrination agenda in our nation's government schools. Laurie's experience as an educator and, for the past thirteen years, IFI's cultural affairs writer has given her valuable insight on the small, subtle, incremental steps that have led public schools away from focusing on academic instruction to prioritizing social and sexual indoctrination. Laurie and Jim discuss trans-cultism and the “transing” of public schools; the distinction between sex, gender, and gender identity; and the heartbreak of “detransitioners.” Among other topics, they also address Critical Race Theory (CRT) and the Equality Act, especially as it relates to the devastation of girls'/women's sports. We apologize for the audio quality of this podcast. Although it isn't up to our standards, we felt the quality of the content was too important to ignore. An incremental, systematic approach has been underway in the educational system for many years and its fruit is abounding. 20 years ago, many were shocked when VCY America learned that the Milwaukee, WI, public schools had a gay and lesbian advisory committee that met monthly. --VCY America obtained an extensive manual filled with information on how to incorporate the gay-lesbian and bisexual agenda into the schools. At that time they were speaking of homophobia and heterosexual privilege. There was information on how to reduce homophobic bigotry by having role models such as openly homosexual teachers, coaches and administrators. They also spoke of bringing in homosexual guest speakers and establishing gay-straight alliances to reassess the curriculum to incorporate gay and lesbian issues throughout, and not just in classes like health education, but in traditional disciplines as well. One example is the use of same-sex couples in math story problems.--Based upon the success of change agents, the same kind of indoctrination is underway to promote the transgender agenda as well. The guest on this edition of Crosstalk calls it, the -transing- of public schools. --With more on this subject, Jim welcomed Laurie Higgins. Laurie is a cultural affairs writer with the Illinois Family Institute.

According to Laurie Higgins, public schools in Illinois are too far gone – no Christian parent should subject their children to the indoctrination curricula that is being forced on our state's K-12 students. Laurie was speaking as a featured guest of Janet Parshall on her radio program, In the Market with Janet Parshall, where they discussed the tsunami of radically liberal, pro-LGBTQ and anti-Christian laws and teaching “standards” that are inundating our tax payer-supported public school classrooms. Janet and Laurie also consider what Christians must be prepared to do in the current climate of hate and how best to counter the flawed reasoning of those who oppose our Christian worldview. Laurie Higgins is the cultural affairs writer for IFI. Her on point assessments of current issues and developments can be found at IllinoisFamily.org. Janet Parshall is the host of her nationally syndicated radio program; she is also a popular public speaker, author and family advocate.

Written by David E. Smith After almost a year of gubernatorial mandates masquerading as law, it should come as no surprise that another legislative group in Illinois is attempting to do an end run in order to avoid following the accepted, standard procedure of presenting a bill for debate and vote by the General Assembly. Laurie Higgins, IFI's cultural affairs writer, joins Pastor Calvin Lindstrom and Pastor James Pittman, Jr. for a podcast, featured on Here I Stand Radio, examining the continuing revolution in education in Illinois. They discuss the leftist tactics that would force teachers to teach “progressive” ideas that have their genesis in identity politics and Critical Race Theory/Critical Theory, and detail the ludicrous standards set forth in the “Culturally Responsive Teaching and Leading Standards” amendment. Since diversity re-education is all the rage these days (and if Harris and her shadowy, confused puppet win the election will only get worse), I thought it might be helpful to publish the letter I emailed to Deerfield High School’s principal in about 2007 when I dropped out of an ongoing divisive diversity workshop due to the intolerance, close-mindedness, bigotry, and dishonesty of my un-collegial colleagues. read the letter…
The state of Illinois long ago made the embarrassing leap from local joke to national joke. The Land of Lincoln is now the corrupt, insolvent, morally vacuous, leftist dystopia of U.S. Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth, Springfield mob boss Mike Madigan, Governor J.B. Pritzker, and Mayor Lori Lightfoot. I guess the lazy, irresponsible, anti-science, and morally vacuous community organizers that comprise the Chicago Teachers’ Union thought Illinois was not getting quite enough national PR, so on Sunday, they tweeted, The push to reopen schools is rooted in sexism, racism and misogyny. Say what? Even for …
Censorship today looks like my three-day stint in the Facebook pokey over Thanksgiving weekend during which my mad keyboarding fingers were (almost) crushed in tiny Facebook thumbscrews engraved with a photo of Lord Zuckerberg. As you can see, this image doesn’t include any white male avatars. I wrote: I totally get why there are no white, male avatars here. White males are so creepy. In all my old family photos, …
