What does it look like to be biblical and counter-cultural when it comes to walking in unity today? Conversations around race, tolerance, social justice, racial reconciliation, and critical theory can be challenging and confusing, but what does a biblical approach look like? In this podcast, Jonathan Morrow had a conversation with Monique Duson and Krista Bontrager, about their new book Walking in Unity: Biblical Answers to Questions on Race and Racism.Get a copy of Walking in Unity: Biblical Answers to Questions on Race and Racism Monique Duson is the President at the Center for Biblical Unity. She has a background in social service and children's ministry. She has worked with a diverse array of under-served communities. She worked as a Missionary to South Africa for over four years, serving children and teachers impacted by drugs, violence, and trauma. She spent two decades advocating for Critical Race Theory (CRT), but through a series of events, she began to clearly see the contradictions of CRT with the historic Christian worldview. Monique is now convinced that CRT is not the best way to achieve racial unity and actively speaks out against the use of CRT within the church. Monique has appeared on shows such as Relatable (with Allie Beth Stuckey), the Alisa Childers podcast, and Breakpoint (with John Stonestreet). Monique has a BA in Sociology from Biola University, and is pursuing an MA in Public Theology at Birmingham Theological Seminary.Krista Bontrager is a fourth-generation Bible teacher. In today's "Proclaiming Justice" podcast, we tackle the urgent issue of biased and antisemitic narratives infiltrating our children's education. Despite legislative efforts in states like Florida to ban such content, Critical Race Theory (CRT) and its harmful ideologies persist in textbooks and public libraries nationwide. Joining us is award-winning journalist Daniel Greenfield of Sultan Knish, who reveals shocking details from his recent exposé on Bertelsmann, a publishing giant with ties to Nazi-era propaganda. Discover how this corporation continues to dominate the book industry, perpetuating dangerous, divisive ideologies that target the next generation in public school libraries. Don't miss this critical conversation on protecting our children's education and values.
In this episode, Pastor Nic is joined by Dr. Gloria Ladson-Billings, a renowned education professor and Christian believer, discuss Critical Race Theory (CRT) and its intersection with faith and education. The conversation aims to provide a clear, nuanced explanation of CRT's main tenets while exploring how Christians might engage with these ideas constructively. Dr. Ladson-Billings, as both a scholar and a long-time church member, offers unique insights into how CRT can be understood as an analytical tool for understanding racial inequality rather than as a prescription for policy or a replacement for Christian values. The discussion covers topics like systemic racism, interest convergence, race as a social construct, and church segregation, all while maintaining a focus on how these concepts relate to Christian faith and practice. Throughout the conversation, Ladson-Billings emphasizes that CRT is primarily meant to help explain persistent racial disparities in America, not to promote hatred or division. The conversation ultimately suggests that understanding CRT's academic insights might actually help Christians better fulfill their calling to love their neighbors and work toward reconciliation, while maintaining their core theological commitments. Racial reconciliation is a significant topic in our current cultural moment. The key question is: Is the approach taken by the world effective? We argue that it is not and that the Scriptures and the Gospel of Christ offer a better solution. This was the focus of our recent interview with Monique Duson. She and Bridget discuss PDE's mission to bring political neutrality back into classrooms, the indoctrination of Critical Race Theory (CRT) and gender identity policies in schools, the suppression and compelled speech of students, and how we got to this point. They cover the reemergence of treating people differently based on their immutable characteristics like skin color, the oppressor/oppressed frame that's being taught to children, the emphasis on ideology over basic skills like reading and math, the realities of “gender affirming care", how gender ideology is chipping away at kids' childhoods and why it has no place in schools, the Biden administration's gutting of Title IX, and how easy it is to brainwash children. The Real David Platt, a documentary produced by the Church Reform Initiative, was recently released, exposing problems that have arisen at McLean Bible Church. The megachurch near Washington D.C. has grappled with many challenges since David Platt assumed its helm. David Platt, the acclaimed author of Radical, is what some would call a “celebrity pastor.” But what has become of McLean - the once vibrant, biblically grounded church – after the celebrity's arrival? The answer appears disturbing. The documentary reveals alarming insights and trends that began with David's arrival and continue to the present day. Unbiblical teachings like Critical Race Theory (CRT) were championed while concerned congregants were told CRT was not being taught. The congregational church was assured McLean was not affiliating with the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) – which would violate their church constitution – while leaders quietly affiliated with the SBC. The gaslighting was real. And so was the damage inflicted on what had been a bastion for effective biblical orthodoxy. Since the documentary first aired, few voices have spoken up about it. Some that did simply dismissed the claims made, insisting those interviewed were sour grapes. They were disgruntled and petty. This was just normal church politics. We're not so sure. Joining Andy on the Christian Emergency Podcast to discuss why is Pastor Shane Pennington. Armed with a rich background in Christian leadership and international missions, Shane offers sound insights into the takeover of McLean Bible Church and its ramifications. The footage aired showcases a flock being deceived by its own leadership. Corruption, dark money and narcissism all play starring roles in this sordid tale. And the manipulation and spiritual abuse are patterns that all churches need to recognize if their fellowships are going to be shielded from similar stunts. Part 1:We speak with Curt Cardine, who is part of the Grand Canyon Institute. We discuss the inherent racism and calsscism of school vouchers. Specifically, we talk about how vouchers are used in Arizona, and the wasted money and poor results there.Part 2:Race Class, with Professor Jonathan Feingold.of Boston University.#RaceClass Ep. 33:Even a Trump Judge Agrees that Anti-CRT Laws Dont Ban CRTA federal judge recently upheld most of Oklahomas HB 1775, a law that many thought banned Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the state. This might sound like a win for proponents of discriminatory censorship. Its not. The ruling delivered an ironic twist: Judge Charles Goodwin" a Trump appointee" clarified that HB 1775 permits teaching about race, racism, and related concepts like implicit bias or institutional racism. Judge Goodwin's analysis exposes a significant gap between the law's scope and the partisan rhetoric and public understanding surrounding it. Albeit limited to Oklahoma, the ruling implicates similar "anti-CRT" laws across the country, challenging the narrative that laws like Florida's Stop WOKE Act prohibit meaningful conversations about racism in school. As stakeholders fight back and courts continue to weigh in, this decision could signal a major shift in the fight against discriminatory censorship in American classrooms.Jonathan FeingoldAssociate Professor of LawBoston University School of Lawjfeingol@bu.edu|#RaceClass Podcast|research

Love to hear from you; “Send us a Text Message”Is modern progressive ideology contributing to the moral decay of our society? Join us as we explore this pressing issue, sparked by a thoughtful email from listeners Mike and Julie. Our discussion delves into how atheism, agnosticism, and the rejection of objective truth have led to a culture of moral relativism, particularly in public schools where sexual indoctrination and exploitation are becoming alarmingly prevalent. By comparing the past, when Christian values were more deeply ingrained in society, we highlight the importance of parents being vigilant and proactive in recognizing and combating the pervasive mystery of evil that threatens our children today. We'll also examine the influence of Marxist and communist ideologies within the National Education Association (NEA) and their impact on family values and parental rights. By looking at the historical context, we connect the dots between current progressive movements, such as Critical Race Theory (CRT) and the LGBTQ agenda, and a troubling legacy of eugenics and systemic racism. Our heartfelt conversation underscores the need to restore truth and family values, urging listeners to reintegrate Christ into their lives and share these principles with their children. Mauer, a retired Air Force Master Sergeant and academic, as he shares his personal journey into the controversial world of CRT. Motivated by frequent accusations of racism during debates with liberal friends, Dr. Maurer unveils the essence of CRT and its deep implications for education. We address the societal pressures on individuals to support these movements based on their racial backgrounds and the backlash faced when they dissent. Examining how CRT can foster divisiveness and harmful racial stereotypes among children, we dive into the complexities and contradictions within these movements, revealing their broader societal implications.Lastly, we scrutinize the implementation of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) initiatives across various institutions, questioning their effectiveness and the potential diversion of resources from primary missions. Using examples from educational materials in Tennessee, we highlight techniques that some believe indoctrinate children with specific ideologies, and we critique figures like Ibram X. Elaine Donnelly is president of the Center for Military Readiness, an independent, nonpartisan public policy organization that reports on and analyzes military-social issues. Since its founding in 1993, CMR has advocated for high, uncompromised standards in all forms of military training and sound priorities in the making of military-social policies. Elaine has published articles on military personnel issues in numerous newspapers and magazines nationwide.--Under consideration in Congress is the National Defense Authorization Act for 2025 -NDAA-. A number of positive initiatives are part of the House version. However, the Senate version comes with a very controversial mandate. It would require that for the first time in U.S. history, young women would be required to register with selective service for a possible future draft.--Elaine began by commenting on the state of readiness within our military, how women play into the solution and the mindset behind it. She indicated that although retention has been holding steady, we've had a recruiting crisis taking place for several years. With so many trouble-spots in the world, she's not confident that the current administration understands how serious these threats are. Plus, they are misdirecting millions of dollars of resources to -woke- priorities and actually alienating people.--One example she gave was that of Critical Race Theory -CRT-. She believes that the more we teach CRT, both in civilian schools and the military, it only makes the recruiting crisis much worse, therefore she sees our all-volunteer force as being very much at risk.--Another factor is Diversity, Equity and Inclusion -DEI- policies.

The Dean's List with Host Dean Bowen – Two federal judges issue opposing rulings on Critical Race Theory (CRT) laws in New Hampshire and Arkansas. Judge Paul Barbados deems New Hampshire's ban unconstitutional, while Judge Lee Rudofsky upholds Arkansas' ban. These conflicting decisions highlight ongoing legal battles over CRT in public schools, potentially leading to a Supreme Court showdown.

Decolonial thinker Professor Paul Gilroy joins EMPIRE LINES live in Plymouth, to chart thirty years since the publication of The Black Atlantic, his influential book about race, nationalism, and the formation of a transoceanic, diasporic culture, of African, American, British, and Caribbean heritages. Published in 1993, Paul Gilroy's The Black Atlantic: Modernity and Double Consciousness explores the interconnectedness of Black diasporas and communities across Western/Europe. He argues that the experience of slavery and colonisation, racism and global migration has shaped a unique Black cultural identity that transcends national borders. By examining the cultural contributions of Black individuals in music, literature, and art, Paul suggests that the Black Atlantic remains a site of resistance and creativity. Highlighting the plural and complex experiences of Black people throughout history and today, he challenges the notion of a singular, essential Black identity. We consider some of the transdisciplinary artist-activist-academics referenced in his texts, including W.E.B. Du Bois, Stuart Hall, and James Baldwin, to more contemporary figures, like Nadia Cattouse, bell hooks, and June Jordan, and Angeline Morrison. Plus, Paul talks about his early interests in music journalism, research into Black jazz and blues music, as well as British folk and country songs - and even Eminem. We consider Paul's engagements with Critical Race Theory (CRT), and Cultural Studies in Birmingham in the Midlands, and how his practice challenges ideas of Black nationalism, Afro-centrism, and political Blackness. We discuss too his ideas about afro-pessimism and planetary humanism, and how capitalism, militarism, and the environment has changed over the last thirty years. A self-described ‘child of Rachel Carson', he details his support for Extinction Rebellion, and the obligation of older generations to find hope in an era of climate and ecological crises. Finally, Paul describes his ‘Creole upbringing' in north London, connecting with his Guyanese heritage in the multicultural, cosmopolitan city, and how his mixed parentage shaped his relationship with rural landscapes, including the south-west of England, from where we speak. Rachel Berg Belin shares the journey of her career which has been inspired Inspired by the recognition that young people are underestimated in the value they can offer to communities and politics. Rachel has focused on creating spaces for young people to play a more meaningful role in schools and public life. Rachel's journey with youth and politics began with her involvement with the radio at the Institute of Politics and Phillips Brooks House, and producing a radio show called Kid Company. She has also worked with youth journalism venture Cultural Express in Massachusetts. She trained young people in the Boston area to be reporters on serious issues, interviewing people from all walks of life, including Supreme Court justices, the President of the U.S., local activists, and marginalized individuals. Rachel also moved around and led a media literacy nonprofit called Youth Voice Collaborative. She moved to Rochester, New York, where she got her master's in teaching and curriculum. She was teaching high school but felt frustrated in the classroom which felt mostly like an autocracy and wanted to do something outside of the classroom that was more in the vein of guerilla social studies. She worked with a program called Prichard Committee, which aimed to mobilize citizens to improve public education. She believed young people were a missing piece of this puzzle. Rachel's journey has been a rebellion against underestimation of the capacity of young people to contribute to our communities and affirmation of what is possible when we support young people to co-design our communities and do democracy with us. She believes that young people can be empowered and have a voice in democratic life when supported by adults and young people and established The Student Voice Team in Kentucky where young people are involved in shaping and forming education in schools, creating more just and democratic schools. Youth Leading and Designing Education Research The Student Voice Team has conducted over 16 original education studies over the last 11 years. They have conducted qualitative and quantitative studies of the extent to which their schools are safe, inclusive, and engaging, with the support of students, teachers, and families. The team has surveyed and interviewed thousands of students in diverse schools across the state, using data to write opinion pieces and columns that lift student voice on issues such as student mental health, safety, and policy. Two statewide studies have been conducted, each generating over 11,000 student responses from nearly every Kentucky County. These studies have had a significant impact on raising student voice on serious issues, such as the impacts of COVID on learning from home and the ineffectiveness of online learning for the vast majority of students. Another study focused on classroom conversations about race and racism in Kentucky during the height of the Critical Race Theory (CRT) debates. Over 11,000 students responded from nearly every Kentucky County, and the majority of students felt that their schools were not doing nearly enough to confront racism. The team presented their findings and recommendations to the State Board of Education and held a pop-up press conference on the Capitol steps to share their data and serve as a counter narrative to what older people were saying they needed in their schools. In conclusion, the Student Voice Team's strategies for creating more justice in democratic Kentucky schools involve young people leading and designing education research, policy, and storytelling. Navigating Intergenerational Dynamics The research is a youth-led, intergenerationally sustained organization that focuses on navigating intergenerational dynamics and creating space for young people to participate in decision-making processes. The organization is a reflection organization, allowing young people to contribute to the research process and guiding them in the analysis of data and messaging to the public. Adult partners, such as University of Kentucky researchers, are also involved in the research process. The organization's mission is to target an intergenerational audience and ensure equity in its ranks. They conduct research, influence policy, inform decision-makers, and develop storytelling skills. Students participate in media events, press conferences, testifying before legislatures, and writing their own pieces. They also train students in journalism to cover Kentucky Education news and provide commentary, and they have an independent news platform, The New Edu where students report on Kentucky education news, provide commentary, and produce. Funding of the Organization The organization has raised funding from various sources, including the Walton Foundation, Chan Zuckerberg and Bezos Foundation, and smaller funders in Kentucky. This has allowed the organization to pay young people fairly for their work and support those with greater economic needs. The fundraising and development process is unique because there is no gatekeeper for the work, and young people are often involved in developing proposals, and building relationships with funders, and reporting on successes and identifying metrics used to measure successes. The organization has a team of about 25 students from all over the state participating in their journalism training track. A young author and journalist, Rainsford Stouffer, leads some of the training and teaching of storytelling and journalism foundations. The goal is to fill the vacuum in Kentucky's education journalism by supporting young people to analyze and follow education news and report it to an intergenerational audience. Youth Empowerment and Agency Rachel discusses her recent learnings and thoughts on young people's empowerment and agency. She believes that democracy is more than ever a faith, and as an older person, she has to model faith rather than cynicism in democracy. She believes that young people have tools and self-awareness that we need to value as a broader intergenerational community. Rachel also mentions the Future Coalition, which is a group of young people leading the way around education justice. Influential Harvard Professors and Courses Rachel shares her experiences at Harvard, particularly the core classes and professors who had a significant impact on her career. She loved the core courses like Justice, Evolutionary Biology, and 17th-century Dutch art experience. She mentions professors Michael Sandel, Simon Schama, and Stephen Jay Gould. In conclusion, Rachel emphasizes the importance of empowering young people and fostering a broader intergenerational community. She encourages listeners to connect with other students and organizations interested in this work. This assignment, part of a larger discussion on the role of whiteness in American society, faces criticism for potentially reducing people to racial categories. The incident highlights the ongoing debate over Critical Race Theory (CRT) in education, especially relevant in states like Texas where it is banned.Discussion on "Schizophrenic Leftists Use Our Kids to Further Agenda":The episode discusses the response of students in higher education to the Israel-Hamas conflict. It criticizes anti-Jewish sentiments and questions the influence of American education. The episode argues that public schools are teaching divisive racial narratives, contradicting the principle of equality and inciting discrimination. Today's show focuses a lot on how the ideology of Critical Race Theory (“CRT”) and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion (“DEI”) leads to bitter hatred and divisiveness between those perceived as the oppressed and those perceived as oppressors. There is nothing inclusive about that. First, I do open with a comment about lending institutions and how they go about assessing the value of collateral when applying for a loan. It's amazing to think AG Letitia James in NYC can convince enough people that banks take the word of the owner of that collateral and refuse to do their own due diligence. CRT and DEI have been growing forces in our country since the Obama regime and has gone ludicrous speed with Biden. President Biden himself used many speeches to convince us that white supremacy is the greatest threat to our nation. The reality is the exact opposite. I use that as the basis for talking about three of the potentially leaked pages of the Nashville mass-shooters manifesto. She (confused to believe she is a he) had a deep hatred of white people and their privilege. Because she was groomed into thinking she is trans, she automatically believed she was in the oppressed category. Being oppressed, she saw herself now as empowered to eliminate the oppressors and she would suffer no consequences. THIS is the damage of CRT and DEI on those suffering from mental health issues. Now onto some very bad polls from over the weekend. Joe Bide is flailing in nearly every measure and the Legacy/mainstream media is freaking out, as are many Democrat leaders. From George Stephanopoulos to Julie Pace to Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-MO) and even David Axelrod, former Senior Advisor to President Obama all see the writing on the wall for Joe Biden. Some tried to put a positive spin, but it is all falling flat. President Biden is also suffering from attacks coming from the Hamas Squad wing of his party. They don't like him publicly supporting Israel. The anti-Semites in Congress see this as further indication that Joe Biden should not run in 2024. Sen. Bernie Sanders (D-VT) is also part of the Hamas Squad, but somehow manage to beclown himself with CNN's Dana Bash during the show State of the Union. First, he could not answer how Hamas wouldn't just horde any aid sent to the people of Gaza. Then, when pressed about innocent civilians being killed by Israel, Bash asked how can Israel avoid that when Hamas uses their own people as human shields? The Ant-Eater (a la the Pink Panther cartoon) had to admit that he is not a military expert. The FBI announced the had to move in to arrest a Jordanian militant in our country for plans to carry out a terrorist attack on a Jewish celebration. Michigan State Senator Jeremy Moss (D-MI) went off on Rep. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) when she tried to sell the notion that the phrase, “From the river to the sea,” is one of peace and compassion and inclusiveness. Victor Davis Hanson summarizes all of the hate and vitriol as coming from one overall mindset – anti-Semitism. On a more positive note, a new Rasmussen poll found 65% of voters now suspect undercover government agents helped to provoke the January 6 riots. Yet another recording of Ray Epps demanding everyone must go “into the Capitol”, revealing what now seems to be scripted language. Election fraud cases have now broken out in two more Democrat-run state to go with the story from last week of a third instance in Connecticut. Finally, President Zelenskyy said he welcomes Trump to come to Ukraine, but does not think the war can end in 24 hours. I use Zelenskyy's own words to show just how easily Trump could make that deal happen in 24 hours. Take a moment to rate and review the show and then share the episode on social media. Critical Race Theory (CRT) hasn't been a point of big political conversation in almost a year. Groups fell silent and it was rebranded as DEI, SEL, or any number of names in order to escape public backlash. A company with it's roots in CRT consulting, that is connected to the Biden DOJ, has been winning education contracts in Kentucky. They are trying to get their programs implemented state wide. Louisville has another pride festival this past weekend, where they were sure to have a family zone. Finally, I talk about Beshear's new bi-partisan political ad campaign.

School boards across the country, facing pressure from racial equity activists, teachers' unions, and politicians have spent millions of taxpayer dollars on training and curriculum changes that push a fringe ideology known as critical race theory on K-12 students in American public schools. Parents who saw these changes play out during virtual school classes were horrified and began a national movement to get rid of it. At angry school board meetings since then, outraged parents asked their school boards, “How could you let this happen?” On the most recent episode of The DrillDown, author Kenny Xu takes on how Critical Race Theory (CRT) made its way into K-12 education, dragging down educational progress and indoctrinating millions of American kids while making a class of “diversity consultants” rich. And the federal government was no exception. But now, post-pandemic, taxpayers are on the hook for billions to fund federal offices that are sitting mostly empty, a new report reveals. Earlier this month the Government Accountability Office published a report examining the utilization of current federal workspaces, as John Kartch explains for Americans for Tax Reform, and its results were remarkable. As Kartch notes, the report found that all 24 federal agencies’ headquarters are “vastly underutilized” with most headquarters under 25% capacity and several below 10% capacity. That’s right: Many federal offices are 75% or even 90% empty. These include the Department of Agriculture, Department of Education, Department of Transportation, Small Business Administration, Department of Veterans Affairs, and more cabinet-level agencies. Why does this matter? Well, as Kartch writes, “Taxpayers pay for air conditioning, heating, maintenance, and security for agency buildings at a cost of billions per year, while the same agencies lecture Americans about ‘climate’ and the type of stove you have in your home.” This isn’t cheap. The GAO report notes that “The federal government owns 511 million square feet of office space, costing billions annually to operate and maintain.” That’s money out of our pockets. https://www.breitbart.com/economy/2023/07/30/report-california-loses-nearly-350-million-to-migration-out-of-state/ California Loses Nearly $350 Million to Migration Out-of-State The State of California lost nearly $350 million in tax revenues in 2021 due to migration out of the state — a worrisome figure as the state contemplates a new deficit of $32 billion this year. The real estate website MyEListing.com reported: California ranks first among states experiencing the worst net negative tax income migration. With a staggering net loss of $343.2 million, the Golden State is witnessing an outflow of high-income earners. Despite its numerous attractions, from the booming tech industry and world-class universities to beautiful landscapes and cultural richness, California’s high personal income tax rates seem discouraging for many high-wealth individuals. This, coupled with the state’s high cost of living, will likely fuel a wealth migration out of California. These trends affect the state’s economy, especially the real estate and job markets. The departure of high-income earners can decrease demand for luxury real estate and potentially affect the commercial real estate sector. It also impacts job creation, as these high-income individuals often play a significant role in business expansion and entrepreneurial activities. New York was second, losing $299.6 million; and Illinois was third, with a net loss of $141.7 million. Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) has focused on attacking conservative states like Florida, but he is losing residents — and tax revenues to those states. MyEListing.com notes that Florida and Texas led all other states in “positive tax migration.” Arizona, currently governed by Democrats, was third. Newsom enjoyed a budget surplus of nearly $100 billion last year, buoyed in part by federal coronavirus funds that were signed into law by President Joe Biden in 2021. https://thepostmillennial.com/private-school-enrollment-jumps-25-percent-in-washington-as-exodus-from-public-schools-continues?utm_campaign=64487 Private school enrollment jumps 25 percent in Washington as exodus from public schools continues Washington private schools saw a 25 percent jump in enrollment over the last three years and homeschooling saw a 42 percent increase as public school enrollment continued to fall. According to the State Board of Education, in 2019-20, there were 65,270 students enrolled in K-12 private schools in the state. By 2022-23, that number had spiked to 81,434 students. Additionally, the number of students that are homeschooled also increased from 20,844 in 2019-20 to 29,798 in 2022-23. According to Liv Finne at the Washington Policy Center, “The numbers show that over 110,000 parents in Washington state have decided that enrolling in controversial public schools is not the best option for their children.” A nationwide data analysis performed by the National Assessment of Education Progress (NAEP), the nation’s “report card,” showed that only 35 percent of Washington's 4th graders are proficient in math with 74 percent testing at a basic level for the 2022-23 school year. The numbers got worse the older the students got with only 28 percent of 8th graders showing proficiency in math and 64 percent showing only a basic knowledge of the material. The analysis also revealed that students in the Evergreen State lost over five months (-0.65 grade equivalents) of learning in math, while in Washington's largest district Seattle Public Schools, students were down four and a half months of learning (-0.50 grade equivalent). Democrat Governor Jay Inslee, State Superintendent Chris Reykdal, and teachers’ unions kept public schools shuttered for in-person learning for more than a year in their response to COVID. Public schools did not welcome back students until the fall of 2021 and were regularly closed for “outbreaks.” By comparison, private schools reopened a year earlier in the fall of 2020. Rather than deal with the learning loss which was already evident just a few months into online learning, in May 2021, Inslee signed SB 5044 to force Critical Race Theory (CRT), including hyper-sexualized gender theory into the classrooms and universities. Additionally, many schools have begun removing higher-level learning programs including advanced placement courses for more advanced students. Adding to the many reasons parents are pulling their children is violence in the schools after districts like Seattle and Bellevue banned police officers from campuses. Washington public schools are getting more desperate for enrollment, as student counts are tied to federal dollars, and have been running ads in various markets trying to get students to return. Due to the massive loss of students, some districts including Seattle and Bellevue have already announced that some schools will be closed. Last June, the “non-binary” player was removed from a women’s rugby match after he injured three competitors. After the identity of the player remained unknown, it has now been revealed. Per Reduxx: The identity of the man involved in the incident has now been confirmed as Ash Davis, who previously played in the men’s division of the club and had been awarded the “hardest hitter” designation during the Senior Awards Banquet just last year. According to a source within the rugby club, there has been ‘much opposition’ to Davis’ participation in the women’s category, but club members are concerned about speaking up out of “fear of being labeled transphobic.” The source also explained that ‘many people have known Ash for years, making it more sensitive.’ Marshi Smith, the co-founder of the Independent Council on Women’s Sports (ICONS), told Reduxx that the rugby club did not care about the safety of the women players. “Young women are being forced to jeopardize their physical safety to satisfy the desires of a man, Ash Davis, in Canadian rugby,” Smith said. Despite opposition within the rugby club, leaders like club President Jane Kirby are willing to risk the health and safety of young female players, prioritizing men’s preferences over ethical concerns and the potential for life-threatening injuries or death. This policy of sacrificing girls’ and women’s well-being for men’s eligibility preferences is unethical and perilous,” Smith added.

The Black Sea Grain Initiative collapsing last week, meaning there is no longer a safe corridor for Ukrainian grain exports by sea, has seen a shift in Russian military posture says the United Kingdom, predicting the coming of a full-on blockade. Noting the redeployment of a modern Russian corvette to the southern Black Sea, the UK’s Ministry of Defence said in an intelligence digest that: “Russia’s Black Sea Fleet has altered its posture since Russia pulled out of the Black Sea Grain Initiative (BSGI), in preparedness to enforce a blockade on Ukraine… There is a realistic possibility that it will form part of a task group to intercept commercial vessels Russia believes are heading to Ukraine.” Without the Grain Initiative moderating behaviour in the Black Sea and providing a corridor for exports, there is now “the potential for the intensity and scope of violence in the area to increase”, the MOD said. Russia has already massively stepped up attacks on Ukraine’s port infrastructure, regularly bombing Odessa for over a week. The consequences of the collapse of the grain deal are potentially considerable, given Ukraine’s status as a major exporter in the world food market, and the fact a lot of their exports have traditionally gone to less wealthy countries. As previously reported, a sudden spike in grain prices causes fresh waves of emigration from the developing world, sparking new migrant crises in Europe. It is claimed the collapse of the grain deal will see global grain prices spike by up to 15 per cent. While Ukraine has a considerable land border with Europe, simply switching from maritime to overland shipping for grain is extremely difficult given the enormous bulk of the commodity, the typical destinations for the product, and the lack of infrastructure. Exporting by the Danube is being explored. Ukraine says Russia is deliberately targeting its grain exporting infrastructure, with Ukrainian Agrarian Council Denys Marchuk remarking: “Russia understands that Ukrainian grain is one of the key directions of Ukraine’s potential export, which gives money, and they really don’t want to see Ukrainian grain. In fact today, by blocking the Black Sea, they are artificially raising the price of grain in the world so that later offer their grain to poor countries, and at high prices”. Marchuk said if European countries didn’t want to see fresh waves of migration from poor nations, it should give Ukraine more weapons more quickly. Given the importance of grain exports from Ukraine to the rest of the world, even if just indirectly for developed nations wanting to reduce push-factors for global mass migration, there may be pressure for the West to do more to defend merchant shipping in the Black Sea. This could take the form of more equipment donations to Ukraine, but as has been previously suggested, could be more direct, risking direct conflict between NATO and Russia. Speaking of the military… https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/news/white-house/biden-diversity-level-of-the-military Biden: 'Critical' that diversity is 'reflected at every level' of the military President Joe Biden released a statement Wednesday committing to further advancing diversity at "every level of the Department of Defense, including at the highest levels of leadership." The president's Wednesday statement commemorated the 75th anniversary of the signing of President Harry Truman's executive order desegregating the armed forces after World War II. "This landmark Order, issued more than a decade before the passage of the Civil Rights Act, directed the military to ensure the 'equality of treatment and opportunity for all persons in the armed services without regard to race, color, religion or national origin,'" Biden wrote. "It was a vital step forward for our nation. It recognized the equal bravery and equal sacrifices of generations of service members of color who deserved to be equally honored." The president highlighted the contributions of black service members throughout U.S. history, including black regiments who fought for the Union in the Civil War, the Harlem Hellfighters, and the Tuskegee Airmen. "Today, more than 40 percent of active-duty service members are people of color. Yet, despite this growing diversity, service members of color still face unacceptable barriers," Biden continued. "They are underrepresented in positions of senior leadership, face bias in the military justice system, and are still more likely to be dishonorably discharged. We owe it to them and the entire force to continue working to build a military where equal dignity and equal respect are fully realized." The president specifically called advancing equity throughout the military a personal "priority," both for him and his "entire administration." Earlier this week, Biden designated three sites as part of a new Emmett Till national memorial, but the president is also facing growing concerns among black voters, a key demographic, heading into the 2024 election cycle. A May poll from Ipsos and the Washington Post showed that just 34% of black Americans believe that Biden's agenda has helped their community. Nearly a majority of black respondents said his policies have had no impact, and 14% say the president's agenda is harming black people. And a poll conducted by YouGov and the Economist found that only 46% of black respondents wanted Biden to seek a second term, compared to 56% of all Democrats. https://www.dailywire.com/news/summer-camps-embrace-gender-theory-trans-inclusion-critical-race-theory Summer Camps Embrace Gender Theory, ‘Trans Inclusion,’ Critical Race Theory National summer camp organizations have adopted practices and policies based on gender identity theory, “trans inclusion,” and Critical Race Theory (CRT). The American Camp Association (ACA), an organization of 10,000 summer camp professionals, is one of the groups that has embedded leftwing theories on race and gender into their operations. The organization is also responsible for accrediting summer camps across the country. ACA’s 2023 National conference, which took place in February, included one session, titled “Trans Inclusion in Overnight Programs.” It focused on “best practices for overnight camps striving to be welcoming spaces for trans and gender non-conforming campers and staff.” The session was led by Chris Rehs-Dupin, the founder of a group that hosts trainings on “LGBTQIA+ inclusive practices” called Transplaining for Camps. “Transplaining for Camps exists to help camps build inclusive practices that will create spaces of belonging for campers and staff of all gender identities and sexualities,” the organization’s website reads. Another ACA conference session, which focused on the creation of racially exclusive “affinity groups,” was titled “Creating Belonging Through Affinity Spaces At Camp” and led by members of the Aloha Foundation, which runs camp programs in Vermont. Meanwhile, a different session at the ACA conference, titled “Centering Equity and Justice at Summer Camp: The Kids Are Ready” argues that there is an evident need “to tackle issues of social justice with our young people … and provide them not only with a safe(r) space to discuss these topics but the tools to become agents of change.” Other ACA sessions included “Creating Safe and Affirming Spaces for LGBTQIA2S+ Folks at Camp” and “Lessons Learned in LGBTQIA+ Inclusive Practices.” The ACA also has a “checklist for gender inclusive practices at camp” and a “gender support plan for camp” created by Gender Spectrum, an organization that promotes child transgenderism. An equity statement from Outward Bound USA claims that the “outdoor community was and is a part of the underlying structure of injustice that governs American society,” also going on to add “we are deeply committed to dismantling inequities and working to write a new chapter.” There’s also Camp Fire, an organization that runs teen leadership events and camps, and seeks to connect young people to the outdoors “through playful, inclusive, affordable, and powerful out-of-class experiences.” It boasts that it has over 1,300 program sites across the country. A report from The Daily Wire revealed that there are also several summer camps across the country that have not only adopted policies based on gender theory or Critical Race Theory, but are specifically intended for children who identify as transgender or LGBT. Spacey sobbed as he spoke to media outside the courthouse after the verdicts were announced. Kevin Spacey speaks after being acquitted in U.K. sexual assault trial- Play Video Spacey, who also turned 64 on Wednesday, pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault, indecent assault and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. Four men testified about similar encounters that involved Spacey allegedly groping them. The acts alleged between 2001 and 2013 ranged from unwanted touching to aggressive crotch-grabbing and, in one instance, performing oral sex on an unconscious man. In closing arguments, prosecutors had argued Spacey got away with his behavior because of his celebrity status. Spacey allegedly seized brief moments for an "opportunity grab" and was able to get away with the assaults for years because he was a celebrity who took advantage of his power, prosecutor Christine Agnew said. Agnew emphasized that the four men's accounts were similar not because they had conspired to bring Spacey down, but because groping was reportedly Spacey's "trademark" move, according to the prosecution. Spacey's defense lawyer said during closing arguments Friday that three of the men are liars, and he suggested jurors not convict him for making a "clumsy pass" at a fourth man. Spacey testified himself over a span of two days, during which he denied violently groping one of his accusers and instead painted a picture of their "intimate" and "somewhat sexual" relationship for the jury. "I never thought that (the man) I knew would ... 20 years later stab me in the back," he said. Elton John also testified remotely in Spacey's defense at one point during the trial, confirming the "American Beauty" star only attended one of the musician's annual gala parties in 2001. One of Spacey's alleged victims claimed the actor assaulted him while the two were driving to John's White Tie & Tiara Ball in 2004 or 2005. Spacey first faced allegations of sexual misconduct when actor Anthony Rapp came forward in 2017. Rapp accused Spacey of assaulting him at a party in the 1980s. Spacey was found not liable in Rapp's civil lawsuit. Following Rapp's claim, more men came forward with accusations against Spacey, and he was booted from the Netflix show "House of Cards." Spacey recently returned to the screen with roles in Italian director Franco Nero’s "The Man Who Drew God," the biopic "Once Upon a Time in Croatia" and the film "Peter Five Eight."

It was liberals who defended the right to burn the American flag, and of neo-Nazis to march through a neighborhood of Holocaust survivors. It was liberals who fought against corporate power and for the rights of working people. And it was liberals who fought to end racial segregation and to protect girls and women, including in sports. All of that has changed. Today, it is conservatives who are fighting the racial re-segregation of classrooms and workforces by Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) administrators in thrall to Critical Race Theory (CRT). It is conservatives who are defending the right to freedom of expression online from progressives demanding greater censorship by Big Tech and the government. And it is conservatives who are defending the rights of girls and women to female-only spaces and sports from natal males. The reversal of liberal and conservative positions is not total. More liberals than conservatives favor the right of same-sex couples to wed and the federal right to abortion. More liberals than conservatives favor labor unions and the minimum wage. And more liberals than conservatives favor entitlements like Social Security and Medicare. But the importance of those issues has declined. Republicans have largely given up trying to end same-sex marriage, and abortion policy is now up to the states. Just 10% of Americans are in a union, and the percentage has steadily declined, through both Democratic and Republican administrations, for decades. And there has been no significant effort by Republicans to modify Social Security and Medicare ever since Donald Trump pledged to support both. As a result, conservatives find themselves in the paradoxical position of defending traditional liberal values like free speech and racial equality from progressives. Indeed, the person described by the Left and Right alike as “the most effective conservative activist in America,” Chris Rufo, has done more to roll back CRT-DEI-motivated racial segregation, over the last three years, than any progressive. And over the last year and a half, Rufo, a Senior Fellow at the center-Right Manhattan Institute, has turned his formidable investigative powers to fighting gender ideology. Why is that? Why did a conservative, rather than a liberal, do more than any other individual in America to defend traditional liberal policies and values? To answer that question, I interviewed Rufo last week about his new book, America's Cultural Revolution: How the Radical Left Conquered Everything, and his policy advocacy, which includes advising Republican presidential candidate, and Florida Governor, Ron DeSantis.
Critical Race Theory (CRT) has become a lightning rod in American politics and evangelical Christianity. Our guests this week talk about it in their new book, Christianity and Critical Race Theory: A Faithful and Constructive Conversation. This book offers a critical but constructive and sympathetic introduction to CRT written from a perspective rooted in Scripture and Christian theology. Robert Chao Romero and Jeff Liou take us beyond the caricatures and misinformation to consider how CRT can be an analytical tool to help us understand persistent inequality and injustice--and to see that Christians and churches working for racial justice engage CRT in faithful and constructive ways. The authors explore aspects of CRT that resonate with well-trod Christian doctrine but also aspects that challenge or are corrected by Christian theology. They also address the controversial connection that critics see between CRT and Marxism. Their aim is to offer objective analysis and critique that go beyond the debates about social identity and the culture wars and aid those who are engaging the issues in Christian life and ministry. The book includes reflection/discussion questions, exercises, a glossary of key CRT terms, and suggested readings, making it helpful for students or small groups.Buy the book: https://a.co/d/0LguhgMAbout the Authors:Rev. Heresies have existed in Christianity for more than two-thousand years, since the faith began. Early followers of Jesus Christ fought hard, first to understand the faith, and then to create doctrines that more faithful through the centuries could follow. The Nicene Creed, promulgated at the Council of Nicaea in the 4th century, comes out of that struggle, and is still the accepted profession of faith for the majority of Christian denominations whether Protestant, Orthodox or Roman Catholic. But a new heresy has seeped into Christianity, one that has been hard to detect, but there non-the-less. Pastor Lucas Miles is working to expose the dark deeds of heretics in his book, "Woke Jesus: The False Messiah Destroying Christianity." On this episode of Lighthouse Faith podcast, recorded at NRB (National Religious Broadcaster's Convention) in Orlando, Florida, Miles talks about the book and about how the new woke culture has infiltrated the Christian pulpit. Miles is also a writer, film producer, president of Nfluence Network, and lead pastor of Nfluence Church in Granger, Indiana. He has taken a lot of hits from critics in the Church, as he exposes Critical Race Theory (CRT), Black Lives Matter (BLM), and other social causes that run counter to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. The bottom line is, people need to know the true faith, in order to detect the heresies. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Racism, immigration, and Critical Race Theory (CRT) are terms that are thrown around daily on the news, in our workplaces, and at our schools. As Catholic Christians, we may be tempted to think, “I need to rise above the politics.” However, these are important topics that are shaping the way individuals process the world around them. In fact, the Church has quite a bit to say from its perspective of Catholic Social Teaching. She roots us in the reality of what these things are and how we can rationally approach discussions regarding the shaping of our nation.Racism and Slavery: we will cover how the Church defines racism an see her tens and tens of condemnations of racism over the past six hundred years.Immigration: let's take a step back and discuss 1) what is a nation, 2) what is a migrant, and 3) what are their rights and duties towards each other. With the foundational principles laid out, we can much better talk sensibly about the direction we want to see our country's policies move.Critical Race Theory: we cover the three principle tenants of CRT and the ways its proponents allege it manifests itself. Then we will look at how CRT is a simple repackaging of Marxism and Postmodernism. And yes, the Church has lots to say about Marxism and Postmodernism.
Ken welcomes tenured UCLA Professor and prolific author, Dr. Robert Chao Romero to the podcast. They discuss his new book: Christianity and Critical Race Theory: A Faithful and Constructive Conversation. CRT and “Wokism” have become misappropriated political tropes across the country. Dr. Romero and Jeff Liou have collaborated on a compelling book that makes an important contribution to the conversation, bringing correction, insight, and inspiration. The terms CRT and “WOKE” have been weaponized in a way that distorts their intended meanings and adds to our political, social, and spiritual polarization. A deeply committed Christian, Dr. Romero has been teaching CRT for many years in both undergraduate and graduate courses at the university, long before the terms appeared on the public scene. Equipped with a master's degree (UCLA) a law degree (UC Berkeley) and a Ph.D. (UCLA), Robert is uniquely positioned to demystify the controversy and represent a biblical perspective that challenges the popular notions that are being used to silence history, perpetuate misinformation and fuel racial animosities.
