The tenth episode is a solemn one. If you're expecting our usual laughs you're mistaken. On the Ave Podcast has chosen to honor the legacy of Emias Joseph Ashjedom also known as Nipsey Hu$$le. We do that the only way we know how, by hopping on the microphone. Bre, Fred and Ramsey talk about what he meant to us and how his life (not death) shook a generation. Ramsey asks a hard question: If Nip can get shot right on his own property is it even worth it to try to give back to our hood who doesn't love us back or should we escape with as many as we can carry. We also talk about bad journalism and how we personally can give back to our own communities. Big shoutout and thank you to David Michael Jonze from JonzeVishun for the assist this week. Press Play.

The lost of Nipsey (March 31, 2019) was felt worldwide. How can a use his musical platform to not just influence the culture, but also change the community. We always hold celebrities accountable for not giving back, but not Nipsey. He didn’t just give back, he picked up, and carried the burden of his community by unifying gangs that would never share the same block, but Nipsey seen it as an opportunity to decrease the killings, and bridge the gap between “Red” and “Blue”. This gap now consists of many other colors but the goal is the same. We must walk in his light and continue he “Marathon” of life! R.I.P Nip #AllMoneyIn

Host Beto Duran welcomes Nathan Fenno and LZ Granderson to discuss a wide range of topics and people. Nathan starts the conversation with updates on Lynn Swann and USC before moving into the recent allegations surrounding high-profile attorney Michael Avenatti, NIKE, an Inglewood AAU team, and everything that comes with presence of big money in amateur sports. Then, LZ joins to discuss his recent story about the NZAA, replacing the C with a Z for Zion, another amateur athlete, who recently had a camera fixed on him the entire duration of an NCAA game. The tragic passing of LA rapper Nipsey Hussle has sent shockwaves through the local and hip hop communities, while also making a tremendous impact on athletes as well. We discuss how Nipsey was able to transcend his role as an artist into the lives of many athletes. Lastly, LeBron James' impact on Los Angeles (and vice versa) is discussed. All of these stories and discussions rise above the traditional X's and O's of sports discussions.
R.I.P. Nipsey Hu$$le. Louie's Space theories are back with Earth's Moon. Louie has a new job. And the podcast ends because of “What do you Meme?”
Episode 54. Peace and blessings to the family of Nipsey Hustle. Ermias Davidson Asghedom (August 15, 1985 – March 31, 2019), known professionally as Nipsey Hussle (often stylized as Nipsey Hu$$le), was an American rapper and songwriter from Los Angeles, California. Emerging from the West Coast hip hop scene in the mid-2000s, Hussle initially became known for his numerous mixtapes, including his Bullets Ain't Got No Name series, The Marathon, The Marathon Continues and Crenshaw, the latter of which rapper Jay-Z, bought 100 copies for $100 each.[4] After much delay, his debut studio album Victory Lap was released in February 2018 to critical acclaim and commercial success, and was nominated for Best Rap Album at the 61st Annual Grammy Awards in 2019. Kid Ink cruises past all boundaries. The Los Angeles rapper, producer, and performer can seamlessly slip from an irresistible hook into an impeccable verse, effortlessly bobbing and weaving between the club and the streets. There’s absolutely nobody quite like the tattooed from head-to-toe impresario, and that’s the first thing you’ll notice when you take his full-length debut, My Own Lane [Tha Alumni Music Group/88 Classic/RCA Records], for a spin. Grinding as a producer since the age of 16, he uncovered this creative highway by perfecting a personal style behind the board first. His production collaborations include everybody from Sean “Diddy” Combs, Sean Kingston, Nipsey Hu$$le, and more. That experience in the studio set the stage for him to become the versatile and vibrant force he is today. He officially started twisting the game up when he dropped his 2012 independent album, Up & Away, which spawned his mainstream breakthrough song “Time Of Your Life.” He covered XXL Magazine as part of that year’s “Freshman Class,” while the album smashed an iTunes record by debuting in the Top 5 of the Hip-Hop Albums chart prior to release and minus any traditional promotion. Cumulative single sales from the effort exceed over 500K, while it landed at #20 on the Billboard Top 200, moving over 20K copies first-week. Piping hot from the indie success, he inked a deal with Tha Alumini Group/88 Classic/RCA Records in 2013, dropping the acclaimed Almost Home EP that same year. However, everything simply laid the foundation for My Own Lane.
