Happy Satiated Saturday! As I move closer to my 40's, I've noticed many changes in my body. A few more gray hairs. Some distinguishing wisdom wrinkles. I'm excited to see that the changes a woman's body goes through in her life is becoming more openly discussed and normalized. Your body is going to change as you transition from your menstrual years, to peri-menopause, and into menopause. I like to think of it like a play (for those of you that don't know, I was a former actress and have been in more plays than I can count). Act 1: pre-menstrual years. Act 2: menstrual years. Act 3: post menstrual years. In each act, your body is going to need different kinds of support. It will ask for different forms of physical movement and have changing nutritional needs. I know you've heard me often say that we cannot change what we're not aware of. So, the more awareness you have, the more you can prepare yourself for each act of your life. In this week's episode, I chat with Kitty Blomfield, cofounder of NuStrength and Saturee, about the importance of weight lifting as you transition into perimenopause, how to step off the restrict-binge cycle, eating more (not less!) including carbs and sugar, and committing to the journey with your ever changing body. You can also read the transcript to this week's episode  here: https://www.stephaniemara.com/blog/supporting-your-body-through-menstrual-cycle-changesAs a heads up, a few F-bombs are dropped in this episode so if you have little one's around, be sure to put on headphones. Additionally, we do discuss a bit on tracking your intake. We make it clear in this episode that if you're someone who has a history if disordered eating or an eating disorder that tool will not be one that you will want to utilize. If you have any questions after listening to this episode, email me at support@stephaniemara.com anytime! With Compassion and Empathy, Stephanie Mara FoxKeep in touch with Kitty here:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/kittyblomfield/Website: https://www.nustrength.com.au/Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/au/podcast/weight-loss-for-women-eat-more-train-less-get-results/id1488713797Contact: https://www.nustrength.com.au/contact-usSupport the showKeep in touch with Stephanie Mara here:Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/_stephaniemara/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stephaniemarafoxWebsite: https://www.stephaniemara.com/https://www.somaticeating.com/Linkedin: https://www.linkedin.com/in/stephmara/TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@stephaniemarafoxContact: support@stephaniemara.com Special thanks to Bendsound for the intro music in this episode. www.bensound.com

Kitty is the Co-founder of NuStrength, the winatlife program and Satire. She turns 40 in January 2021 but spent 17 years of her life struggling with body image issues, abusing drugs and alcohol and jumped from quick fix diet to quick fix diet in pursuit of the perfect body. She suffered from irregular and painful periods, bloating, constipation, poor sleep, no sex drive, erratic moods and she was obsessed with food. In 2014 she stumbled across the work of Ray Peat through her now business partner Emma Sgourakis the nutriton coach and she met her partner Craig. What she learnt transformed her body and health and freed her from restrictive diets. It changed her life so much she left her job in mining and started NuStrength with Craig. Initially they owned a gym in Brisbane and eventually went online and created the winatlife program specifically to help women just like her so they could break free from restrictive diets, repair their metabolisms and build bodies they love with real food and strength training. She then joined forces with Emma to create Saturee which means saturated in French.
