This meditation is adapted from a meditation called "Open Focus." Let whatever comes spontaneously to your awareness to be there as you follow along with the questions, which begin with, "Can you imagine…?" (adapted from Open Focus Meditations led by Les Fehmi, Ph.D.) Our introduction music is from "Opening" by Adrienne Torf, © 2025 ABT Music
In this episode we eat on the idea of OPEN FOCUS. In these lives we live it is so natural for us to fixate and to focus on problems and issues that arise but where does that leave us? Usually tense, anxious, and in a position where we MISS everything else. By looking at Hebrews 12 and Matthew 6, we learn that really we should take an OPEN FOCUS away from myself and away from the 90mph fastballs of life and it is then that we can truly see EVERYTHING!
Often when we meditate we use breath or another tool to bring our attention to a single focus. Because our attention is often narrowly focused throughout the day, this open focus meditation is wonderful opportunity to create a sense of openness within oneself, to relax the attention in a way that opposes that narrow focus, while also stilling the mind. In this open focus meditation we use imagination, attention and awareness to become connected with the space inside and around us. #marketingterritoriale #marketingturistico #landexplorer #sviluppoterritoriale #turismo

In the fast-paced digital age we live in, our ability to stay present and focused has become increasingly challenging. A simple way to create a healthy space in the mind which allows you to relax and always see the bigger picture is attention training. With distractions at every turn, it's essential to explore how we can regain control of our attention and foster meaningful human interactions. In this episode, we are thrilled to have Dr. Mary Meduna-Gross, an esteemed expert in the field of focus and success, returning as our special guest. Dr. Meduna-Gross introduces us to an innovative approach called "The Open Focus Approach," which offers powerful insights into how to transform our mindset and tap into our full potential, and the four styles of attention. Join us as we explore the principles of this approach and discover how it can unlock new possibilities for success. --- Listen to the podcast here: Unlocking Your Potential: The Open Focus Approach to Success with Dr. Mary Meduna-Gross Welcome to Action's Antidotes, your antidote to the mindset that keeps you settling for less. Obviously, one really important aspect of anything that we engage in is what kind of mindset we bring in to something. There's a big difference between coming to an event where you're interacting with people but you're constantly pulling out your phone or pulling out your laptop or even getting distracted by every little thing that you see around you or have something prominent on your mind, something you're mad about, something you're really anxious about, versus being truly present somewhere. Today, I bring back to the program the second time, Dr. Mary Meduna-Gross, who you probably remember from a previous conversation, we talked a lot about having the mindset for success and what kind of thoughts we're putting through our head. Today, we're going to talk about a different new approach to how we're actually focusing. --- Mary, welcome to the program. Oh, thank you. So good to be with you again. It's always wonderful to talk to you, it's always wonderful to hear about all the different things that you're doing because you have a podcast of your own. Right. And the magazine that really is helping bring people of this type of mindset, of building something new, building something better together. Exactly. The magazine, The ConsciousPreneur Magazine, is really all about conscious entrepreneurship. Validating these values of the conscious entrepreneur, you can build a successful business on them, that how do we do that, so lots of information on how to do that with some inspiration. The podcast I have now is Fully Alive and we dive specifically into mindset for leadership. I know that this episode is mostly going to cover this open focus technique, as promised, but one thing I'm wondering as we're talking about conscious entrepreneurship and I've read conscious capitalism and some other similar books is is there still a lot of resistance to the idea that you can, through business, make an impact while also earning your money and everything else? Is there still a lot of people saying no from either one end saying, “No, business has to be business and being nice and being philanthropy, whatever, has to be separate,” or, “Your business has to focus only on it, you can't consider all those shareholders,” is that still fully alive, not to use your podcast title, but is that still fully there, fully present in our society? I think so. In fact, I had some conversations recently with some marketers. He was talking about the challenges that he was having in terms of shifting beliefs of his prospects and shift that one belief that I can have purpose or I can have profit but I can't do both. Yeah. You said it so much better than I did. Well, we got to the same point. Again, one of the reasons why I created this magazine was because I think there are a lot of us wh...

We've all heard that "where focus goes energy flows", and I've said for years, that what you focus on is what you experience. But thats only partially correct. For years I've been missing a very important piece of the puzzle that I unlock with my podcast guest Susan Shor Fehmi. This is one of the most important podcasts I've ever recorded. You see, its not just what you focus on, its maybe more importantly HOW you focus, HOW you pay attention that has the biggest affect on your nervous system, health and perception of life. Listen to Susan Shor Fehmi, the Director the Princeton Biofeedback Center teach you how to navigate through different styles of HOW you pay attention. Through learning how to open your focus while immersing into a feeling or experience you will learn to have dramatic changes in the following ways -Reduce physical and emotional pain -Access alpha brainwaves to boost creativity -Learn to bring on more parts of your brain immediately -Reduce or eliminate stress from your body -Utilize open focus training to access states of flow I was exposed to her late Husband, Dr. Les Fehmi's, work after attending a Joe Dispenza retreat and I quickly realized the massive impact his work on Joe's meditations and content. Dr. Les Fehmi was a pioneer in brain wave states and biofeedback training. This work has implications for meditation, spirituality, creativity, physical and mental health and it impacts literally every area of your life! Are you ready to finally learn how to pay attention? Confession:As much as I've lived (and practiced psychotherapy) long enough to know there is no such thing as a “magic bullet” cure-all for emotional and physical pain, I remain permanently and eagerly on the lookout for strategies and ideas that might be juuust a bit shy of magic. And believe me when I say that I have purchased an embarrassing amount of books, programs, apps, trainings, and online courses in that ongoing quest. In the summer of 2021 as I was clicking around on Amazon, the good ole' hate-it-but-kinda-love-it algorithm recommended a newly published book that caught my eye, called The Open Focus Life: Practices to Develop Attention and Awareness for Optimal Well-Being.Focus? Attention? Tangible practices? Optimal Well-Being? The book was immediately in my cart. And because I also cannot ever just have a “casual” interest in anything, while I was waiting on it to arrive, I started listening to the audiobook of Dr. Fehmi's previous book, The Open Focus Brain, which I quickly devoured, and downloaded/started using the Level 1 audio practices from the Open Focus website.Almost immediately, I noticed that Open Focus practice— while similar in ways to other mindfulness meditation practices I'd done— left my mind feeling different than any of those practices. The best I could describe it is lighter, clearer— and, yes, more open.I was hooked, and I decided to begin mentoring with Susan Shor Fehmi, who has carried on the work of her late husband Les (the creator of Open Focus). It was such a gift to have the experience of learning directly from Susan, who is a kindred spirit in many ways. I was delighted when, at the completion of my Open Focus Coach training process, I asked if she'd come on the podcast, and she said yes.About Susan Shor Fehmi, LCSW (she/her)Susan received her Master's degree from Columbia University and is currently the Director of the Princeton Biofeedback Centre in Princeton, NJ, where she combines the teaching of Open Focus™ training with multi-channel, phase synchrony neurofeedback. Astrology, tarot, crystals, intuition, energy, vibes - today we’re talking about all things “woo.” We believe in the power of attention and intention to change our lives, and this conversation is an exploration of things Western society deems irrational, silly, frivolous, or nonsensical. While not expert practitioners of the occult ourselves, we love exploring the intuitive elements of this universe and how they have helped us manage anxiety and live more peacefully. For a brief history of horoscopes as we know them today, and links to Open Focus meditation, a very effective practice to reduce anxiety, visit https://futureregretspodcast.com/23If you liked this episode, please rate, review and subscribe on Apple Podcasts! Two very common themes in the aid and development community are “resource scarcity” (some even call this resource starvation) and “locally driven solutions.” The particular resource scarcity I am referring to is a lack of funding. This is a conversation you cannot avoid, because the challenges always seem to be greater than the available pools of money, and one that, unfortunately, will only become more acute as we navigate the age of Trump and the new populism. Locally driven solutions refers to an ideal that contextualization of products and services results in solutions that are more appropriate, more readily accepted and potentially more durable, or sustainable. By supporting the development of answers at the local level, it is also assumed that we will foster a greater set of unique ideas, which spurs innovation and invention globally. While these two themes, at least at first blush, seem fundamentally in tension with one another there are a number of approaches that successfully bridge the gap. One of these approaches involves the use of technologies, processes, creative outputs and more that are “open source.” Open source products and services are free, community driven and have a number of incredibly successful examples. My guest for the 145th Terms of Reference Podcast is something of an open source evangelist. Giulio Coppi is the founder of an initiative called High Tech Humanitarians, which purports to be the first free online platform for collaborative humanitarian innovation on open source technology. He is also CEO of Open Focus, a non profit devoted to open source technology for good and is an Humanitarian Innovation Fellow at the Institute of International Humanitarian Affairs at Fordham University in New York. As you no doubt have guessed, Gulio deeply believes that open source provides a platform to drive otherwise missing, misplaced or misaligned innovation for the humanitarian sector
