Locked On Baylor - Daily Podcast On Baylor Bears Football & Basketball
Seventh-ranked Baylor managed to survive a late comeback from Oklahoma State and secure a 74-68 victory on Monday night at Gallagher-Iba Arena, despite missing two of its top four guards. The backcourt trio of LJ Cryer, Adam Flagler and Dale Bonner all contributed double-digit points, with Bonner scoring a Baylor career-high of 15 points in 33 minutes. Jalen Bridges added 14 points before fouling out, and the Bears made five of their six free throws in the final 25 seconds to complete the season series sweep. Although the win secured a top-4 seed for next week's Big 12 Tournament in Kansas City, the Bears suffered another blow as freshman Langston Love was lost early in the first half due to a scratched cornea on his left eye, adding to the already absent freshman Keyonte George, who was out with a sprained ankle. While Baylor gears up for their Senior Day match against Iowa State on Saturday, the OSU Cowboys' hopes for an NCAA Tournament berth took a hit as they dropped their fifth-straight game, despite the efforts of Caleb Asberry and Quion Williams, who each scored 12 points. The clocks moved forward an hour, the golf moved forward a day, our pets' heads are falling off and this YSO episode is complete chaos as the boys jump back to the studio after an all-day excursion to Chalk to take a deep dive into The Players Championship and Cam Smith's big win! It was mainly about the weather early on in the pod discussion, as Mother Nature did a number on some of the best players in the world which had some golfers questioning the "playability" on Saturday, especially on the famous (infamous) 17th there at Sawgrass. The guys discuss Vik's poor chipping, Paul Casey's incredibly unlucky break, and DJ's back-door top 10 and record-tying round on Monday. The guys also quickly pop in on the LPGA while in Thailand, some college golf with the OSU Cowboys, and a little local golf on the "Fairway Files" where JT toots his own horn (shocker). All that, and so much more on this special TPC recap discussion on the YSO podcast!! @ysogolf @sports_prose @ScottyG21 @DirtyBirdiesDFS @chalkokc https://fantasysportsprose.com/ https://chalkokc.com/

In this episode, I discuss the Big 12 Championship Game and the OSU Cowboys season overall. A miraculous season could have been mythical, if not for QB1 and a few inches. In this episode, I talk about how facts matter, how doing your own research is important when talking about and discussing things. I use the Kyle Rittenhouse trial and verdict as an example and how the media is incredibly incompetent and/or straight up liars pushing an agenda. Also, side note, I make a mistake and say Kyle killed 3 people. He killed 2 and shot and wounded another (kinda ironic when I am talking about facts, but at least I admit my mistake). I then move to happier subjects and talk football and another amazing performance by the OSU Cowboys. Go Pokes. Put that in your theological pipe and smoke it. And be nice. In this episode, I do another victory cigar episode. This time is it not because the OSU Cowboys won a football game, it is a victory in Jesus cigar. Yes, the world is crazy and I mention politics and wars and Afghanistan and the media and people defending accosting Krysten Sinema in a bathroom and that at times the world can get you down - but thanks be to God, Jesus has overcome the world and that's reason to find joy and peace. Put that in your theological pipe and smoke it. And be nice. Podcast available on Apple, Google, YouTube, iHeartRadio, Spotify, Pocket Casts, Overcast, Radio Public, Breaker, and Castbox. The COVID-19 pandemic is changing sports as we know it in many ways, but that's not the only thing that could change NCAA cross country forever. Recently, a report was published from a teleconference held by the NCAA DI Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Committee that provides insight on a potential change in the way DI teams would qualify to the NCAA Cross Country Regionals and Championships. The change could see a shift in the current nine region system, that allows all DI programs to compete, to a five region system that allows only 60-80 teams to compete for a spot at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. In this episode of BTG, we talk to 3-time NCAA Cross Country championship coach, Dave Smith of Oklahoma State, who sheds light on the talk currently circulating within the coaching world on this proposed change. Smith, who was a past member of the NCAA DI Men's and Women's Track & Field and Cross Country Committee, explains the typical process he's experienced around changes to qualifying systems. Smith also shares his thoughts on how the upcoming 2020 NCAA Cross Country could be affected by the pandemic, if the season was to take place, and how this could affect the ability for teams to qualify to the NCAA Cross Country Championships in the current system. Oklahoma State University is well-known for many things and our football program is one of them. The OSU football team has been playing since 1900 and has gone through many changes and challenges. From some of our first successful seasons during World War II to integrating black athletes on campus and even to our rivalry with OU, our university and its football program have shown great progress over the years. This month on Amplified Oklahoma, we are looking at the history of the OSU football program and why there is such an electric and exciting atmosphere surrounding the team. We’ll hear interview excerpts from the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program’s archives from former players and students alike, who all feel connected to the OSU Cowboys. Later, Clint Chelf, a former OSU quarterback, joins us to talk about his own perspective on the program as a recent player and as a loyal fan. Amplified Oklahoma is a production of the Oklahoma Oral History Research Program at the Oklahoma State University Library. In this episode, Will, Tony & Scott try to figure out what happened with Georgia as they barely defeated FCS team, Nicholls State 26-24 at Sanford Stadium on 09/10/16. Interesting, there were similar parallels between this game and the 2001 Tennessee/Georgia game, a game made famous from Larry Munson's legendary call, titled "The Hob-Nailed Boot" game. The game play was not similar, but what was similar was the final score, 26-24 and that is not a very common final score in football. But the fact that both games featured a coach in his first season (Mark Richt in 2001 & Kirby Smart in 2016), a freshman starting QB (David Greene in 2001 & Jacob Eason in 2016) and a trusted RB to seal the victory (Verron Haynes caught the winning TD pass in 2001 & Nick Chubb helped the Dawgs run out the clock to preserve the victory in 2016). Not completely similar, but fun to think about nonetheless. If you're an Arkansas fan, you'll love Tony's take on Bret's crazy coaching ways in his recap of their victory over TCU. Our hearts go out to Mike Gundy and his OSU Cowboys in losing a gut-wrenching game against the Central Michigan Chippewas. Missouri is next up for the Dawgs. We'll discuss further on Episode 051 coming soon.
