Ashley shared details of her July 15–20 Disney World trip celebrating her 30th birthday with her girlfriend and brother. They stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Pop Century and enjoyed highlights across Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Hollywood Studios, and a bonus visit to Animal Kingdom. Despite crowds, rain, a forgotten ID, and summer heat, they stayed flexible with spontaneous plans, discovered that "just ask" often paid off, and finished with both resorts as favorites. Today I chatted with James Woods about his first feature The Birthday Trip a fine tuned satire that is in select theatres in the coming months.
Anne Murphy explores three titles shaping mid‑year cinema conversations: the expansive Odyssey, the character‑centred biopic Tenor: My Name is Pati, and the intimate drama The Birthday Trip. She highlights how each film has been landing with audiences and why these stories have stood out in recent months. The post Anne Murphy film reviews – July 19th, 2026 appeared first on Sunday Arts Magazine.
This week Flick Ford and Thomas Caldwell chat to James Robert Woods, the writer-director behind The Birthday Trip, and one of its stars David Quirk about bringing this iconoclastic, irreverent new Australian film to the screen. Later on, Flick and Thomas discuss all things The Odyssey, debriefing on Christopher Nolan's new adaptation and revisiting Uberto Pasolini's 2024 adaptation The Return.

Democrats are going after Ken Paxton for spending July 4th in England, and you need to see what James Talarico actually posted before the media spins it. In the Texas Senate race, Talarico called out Paxton for being in London during the 250th anniversary of American independence. He posted a video of Paxton there and claimed it was the last place any patriotic Texan should be that weekend. Talarico stayed in Texas and posed with Willie Nelson instead. While regular Americans were focused on family, barbecues, and making ends meet, political elites turned a personal trip into campaign ammo. The irony of attacking someone for being in the U.K. right after celebrating independence from Britain hasn't gone unnoticed. Pat also covered: Graham Platner drops out of the Maine race. Why Trump changed planes on his way to Turkey. James Talarico partners up to reach trans show attendees. Sara Gonzales joins to break down Texas politics. Smithsonian's American History Museum claims Mickey Mouse represents “blackface.” Do you think a politician's personal vacation should be fair game during campaign season? What started as a travel day quickly turned into pure slippery chaos as the group set up for G's long-awaited Nuru massage. The room looked like a Dexter crime scene with drop cloths everywhere, but the energy was electric as everyone dove in, sliding, laughing, and playing in the cold gel.G shares how multiple women joined him for soapy group showers, surprise blowjobs, and plenty of body-to-body fun, while the group turned a potentially awkward setup into one of the most memorable nights they've ever had. Nessa reflects on the cold gel challenges, the playful chaos, and why it was such a perfect kickoff to the trip despite the exhaustion. With Brekky's Pam Boland away on special assignment, Simon Miraudo and Tristan Fidler induct guest host Danae Gibson into the Movie Squad! First up on this week's episode, Tristan reviews the Audience Award winner from the recent Perth Festival film season, DJ Ahmet. Set in North Macedonia, it follows a 15-year-old boy who pushes back against his father's preferred profession (shepherd) when he discovers the transformative power of dance music. It's now in Australian cinemas. Then, Simon leads a review of the pitch-black Aussie satire The Birthday Trip, about a group of friends and their partners enjoying a luxe vacation in wine country… or at least, they would, if they weren't among the worst people alive. Don't miss its WA premiere at Luna Cinemas on Friday 15 May, hosted by Black Maria Film Collective. Stay tuned for a pod-exclusive review of Hokum, an Irish-set chiller starring Adam Scott as an author who returns to the old country to scatter his parents' ashes. Warning: a witch might be involved. It's also in cinemas now. Learn about the new season of Tristan's Trash Classics screenings at Luna Cinemas held on the last Friday of every month. Be sure to tune in to RTRFM every Friday at 7:30am to hear Movie Squad live on Breakfast with Pam!

We don't remember how awful Carrie is in this episode, but it sure stands out now. Hey Carrie? Ya wanna UNCLENCH a little for your newly divorced friend's literal BIRTHDAY TRIP? While we appreciate Carrie's sentiment about "us girls together forever in our golden years" mentality, we can't help but notice that it conveniently has made an appearance while Carrie is very single and without a man to center. The real star of this episode though, is Samantha/Kim Cattrall. The "I love you too, Richard. But I love me more". has struck a nerve in every young soul who grew up on this show, and Cattrall's acting continues to be unmatched. We LOVE this episode, and we hope you all feel the same way! In the intro for this episode, Scott said that this would be the 3rd and final installment of this trip. He made a sliiiiiiiight miscalculation. Because this trip was so much fun and so much was recorded and talked about, NEXT week will be the TRUE finale...AND it comes with a SURPRISE BONUS at the end that you won't want to miss! For this third episode - Dole Whip with coconut rum, being walked off of Toy Story Mania, walking into the Tree of Life when Animal Kingdom was closed, more security issues at the parks, Disney on Broadway Concert Series, a surprise meal with Russell, Country Bear Jamboree, and Magic Kingdom with Karen are just SOME of the things covered! Enjoy this episode...and we'll see ya real soon!Email: TheMouseAndMePodcast@gmail.comSupport: www.patreon.com/themouseandmeFB and Instagram: “The Mouse and Me”Music by Kevin MacLeod from https://incompetech.filmmusic.io
In last week's episode, Scott, Tracy, Jody, Steve, Russell, and Ben had a blast and what you heard was just the beginning. That was only two days of the trip! In this episode, this fun group of friends continue their talk - you'll hear all about their meal at the Hollywood Brown Derby, their thoughts about the new Villains Unfairly Ever After show, and a whole bunch of other fun stuff! You'll get to meet Katrina, who gets in on the fun and also talks about and rates her snack from the new stand in Toy Story Land, aptly named Popcorn and Snacks.Enjoy this second part of Scott's birthday trip to the most magical place on earth!Email: TheMouseAndMePodcast@gmail.comSupport: www.patreon.com/themouseandmeFB and Instagram: “The Mouse and Me”Music by Kevin MacLeod from https://incompetech.filmmusic.io
“Plus it" is a Disney term - or a philosophy - often linked to Walt Disney himself. Its meaning is to take an idea, project, or detail and make it even better, more magical, or more detailed than originally planned. It emphasizes enhancing the Guest experience or creative product beyond the expected. Scott recently went to Walt Disney World and the surrounding areas for his birthday. He ate some amazing food, rode a bunch of rides, and saw some incredible shows including a couple that he's never seen before and one that he hasn't seen in about 40 years! The best part of it all was that he got to spend some quality time with his wife and friends. Everyone went above and beyond to make this trip so amazing and memorable. There were so many laughs and magical moments and a few surprises and unique experiences were bestowed upon Scott. Because of all of this, “Birthday Trip 2026 - Plus It” seemed like a perfect name for this recap.Enjoy!Email: TheMouseAndMePodcast@gmail.comSupport: www.patreon.com/themouseandmeFB and Instagram: “The Mouse and Me”Music by Kevin MacLeod from https://incompetech.filmmusic.io

Celebrating Life at 52: Lyndon Taylor's Scorpio Squad European Birthday JauntWhen CEO and entrepreneur Lyndon Taylor turned 52 in November 2025, he proved that adventure has no age limit. Following his unforgettable Bangkok birthday celebration in 2024, Taylor and his Scorpio Squad—a group of November-born friends—embarked on a two-week European escapade that would redefine milestone celebrations. From dancing until dawn in Barcelona's legendary clubs to witnessing the Eiffel Tower's nightly sparkle and navigating London's historic streets, this journey showcased how intentional travel can transform birthday celebrations into life-affirming experiences. The Scorpio Squad tradition emerged from the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, when Taylor missed celebrating his 50th birthday—a milestone many consider significant. Determined to make up for lost time, he connected with fellow Scorpio-born friends: one from Florida who kicks off Scorpio season on October 23rd, and another whose birthday falls on November 12th. Taylor himself celebrates on November 10th."I thought, hey, why not? I'm still here with good health. Let me go explore, make some memories, and have wonderful moments," Taylor explained during his appearance on Tripcast360. The group's chemistry stems from what Taylor describes as "vibrating on the right frequency"—a connection built over more than a decade of friendship. The tradition began with Bangkok in 2024, and for 2025, the squad set their sights on Europe. After Taylor's initial vote for Africa was vetoed due to vaccination concerns, the group settled on Spain, France, and England as their destinations, choosing Barcelona and Paris as anchor cities due to their proximity and reasonable pricing.Landing in Barcelona on November 8th, 2025, Taylor's European birthday celebration started with an auspicious welcome. His taxi driver, a single mother working in transport for 17 years, became an unexpected ambassador for the city. Their conversation flowed as if they were old friends, setting a warm tone for the entire trip. The group stayed at the Hampton by Hilton Barcelona Fira Gran, where front desk associate Victoria provided what Taylor calls a "cheat sheet"—a one-page guide covering train routes, city navigation, and budget-friendly activities. This personalized service exemplified the human connections that transformed the journey from a simple vacation into a meaningful cultural exchange.Barcelona's efficient public transportation system became the squad's primary mode of travel, with trains proving both affordable and convenient compared to taxis or rideshares. The decision to use public transit reflected the group's budget-conscious approach to European travel, where costs can quickly escalate. As Taylor's philosophy states: "Every day above ground is a gift." His 52nd birthday celebration across Europe proved that with gratitude, intention, and the right energy, that gift can be unwrapped anywhere in the world—one dance floor, one train ride, one magical moment at a time.Support the showTripCast360 --- It's all about travel, lifestyle and entertainment.Web: TripCast360.com.Twit: https://twitter.com/TripCast360FB: https://www.facebook.com/TripCast360Insta: https://www.instagram.com/tripcast360/
